– In another Fakebook gaff, tech giant Meta (FB’s owner) said it has notified a million Facebook users that their usernames and passwords might have been stolen after downloading one of over 400 malicious Android and iOS smartphone apps.
– The apps were discovered in the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store over the course of the last year, posing as popular types of software.
– According to Meta, four in 10 of the apps posed as photo editors, while others posed as games, VPNs, health trackers, business applications, flashlight enhancers and other services to trick users into downloading them. Seville doctors announce strikes in November and “imminent chaos” in the private sector: {Translation}

Floridians would have faced nightmare scenario if electric vehicles were the norm:
– An analysis by Thomas Lifton of americanthinker.com imagined what an evacuation in Florida ahead of the deadly, devastating Hurricane Ian would have looked like if most residents were driving electric vehicles is enough to horrify any rational person.
– Had most residents been saddled with electric vehicles that are using current technologies and infrastructure, as bad as the hurricane was, the disaster would have been even greater. Simply put, vast numbers of residents who would have tried to escape the storm would have likely been stranded on highways, out of power for their vehicles, and out of hope.
– It is fortunate that as of the current moment, electric vehicles constitute only about 100,000, out of nearly 8 million vehicles registered to drive on Florida’s roads. What if they all were electric, the (impractical) dream of greenies, Lifton wrote.
– Depending on how heavily loaded they were, even assuming everyone had a full battery charge, cars from southern Florida would start running out of juice after 100 – 250 miles. – Similarly, the Commission has reported on the existence of a fifth regeneration action underway and which will be completed by the end of the year. Europe approves the universal charger USB-C for all electronic devices: {Translation}
– The European Parliament on Tuesday passed a law requiring all electronic devices sold in Europe to have a single charger, with a USB-C port. This will affect smartphones, tablets and portable devices by the end of 2024, which will force Apple to modify its models, as they use a different charger.

How much will pensions in Spain increase in 2023- maximum and minimum quantities: {Translation}
– Pensions in the national public system will increase in amount in 2023. The increase in payments will be effective as early as January 2023, with retroactive effect from 1 January, as ratified by the Minister for Inclusion and Social Security, José Luis Escrivá, who made it clear that this rise in pensions will be adjusted to the CPI, as stipulated by the law on pension reform.
– Thus, the significant rise in the cost of living due to the general increase in energy, fuel, food and services prices has meant that the CPI (Consumer Price Index) has risen to 10.5%, according to data from the National Statistics Institute. With this rise, and taking into account that the Government linked the rise in pensions to the CPI, experts have already calculated how much contributory and non-contributory pensions could increase in 2023.
– To find out the percentage increase in contributory pensions, we will have to wait until the end of November, when the CPI data for November will be released, which is added to the figures for the previous 11 months to establish an annual average that will be applied to the different pensions.
– According to the experts, with the data being recorded so far, plus the foreseeable increase in prices in November due to the proximity of the Christmas campaign and the increase in the cost of energy due to the arrival of winter, the revaluation would be 8%.
How much pensions will rise in 2023
– It is estimated that the minimum contributory pension in Spain, which currently stands at 1,005 euros per month, could rise to 1,075 euros in 2023. For their part, maximum pensions would rise from the current 2,920 euros to 3,016 euros next year (an increase of 96 euros).

Extra charge on many electricity bills in Spain is adding to the cost of living crisis:
– As if electricity bills were not already difficult enough to understand, an extra charge has now been added in many cases and it has a different name depending on the company. It is the compensation that has to be paid to companies that use gas to generate electricity following the cap on the gas price which the European Commission agreed to in Spain earlier this year. The cost of paying them difference between the price cap and the real price has to be spread among all consumers.

Why food intolerance tests fail to deliver on their promises:
– There is a whole industry making money off home kits that do not provide an accurate diagnosis of the causes behind people’s gut issues.
