MOONETTE – Organic Skincare for Mature Skin
We are a Torrox-based company specialising in the creation of formulae which help prevent premature skin ageing
Do you know that our Ultra Moisturizing Body & Hand Cream is made from 100% natural ingredients?
The powerful combination of aloe vera, beeswax, grapeseed, wheat germ, shea-butter and lavender essential oil will give your skin long-hours hydration and sun protection.
As our skin is the first layer of our defence against microbial infections, ultraviolet radiation and environmental contamination it plays a vital role in our health. As we grow older, however, our skin becomes thinner, wrinkled, and more sensitive; hence it requires the use of treatments containing specific ingredients to the care of treating mature skin.
Recognising this need we have created a range of formulae which help
-slow down ageing process by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
-improve facial complexion and eliminate blemishes.
At Moonette, we are passionate about health, beauty and plants. Your skin will benefit from the properties of botanic essential oils combined with a selection of nutrients for deep hydration, cell revitalization and antioxidant effect, all sourced from the finest natural ingredients with gorgeous fragrances. We are committed to making effective products at affordable prices.
Naturally, we care about our planet and feel the need to help reduce the sheer volumes of plastics waste that are generated daily around the globe. ANDALUCIA

La Viñuela reservoir water level is at its lowest since 2008:
Like a slim tongue of water stretching across the ground and getting smaller every day that there is no rain. That is the current picture at La Viñuela reservoir, which is the biggest in Malaga province. According to the regional government’s Hidrosur network , it contains 38.8 cubic hectometres of water at present. That is just 23.2 per cent of its capacity and is the lowest since 2008, when the levels were similar and La Viñuela was about to be declared a dead reservoir. That was avoided in the end, thanks to the heavy rainfall in the autumn of that year.
The comparison with 2020 also highlights the delicate situation this reservoir is in at present. Just a year ago, it contained 51 hectometres of water. Today, there are 17.6 fewer. Right now, everyone keeps looking hopefully at the sky.
Malaga meteorologist José Luis Escudero says the only solution for La Viñuela now is steady, sustained rainfall. Photo:ÑITO SALAS. Full article: http://www.surinenglish.com/local/202109/17/vinuela-reservoir-only-full-20210917093738-v.html

UK

Amber list to be scrapped as England overhauls travel rules: The UK government announced Friday it is simplifying its controversial traffic light travel rules and removing mandatory Covid tests for vaccinated travelers returning to England from countries on its safe list.
-Grant Shapps, the UK transport minister, said in a series of Twitter posts that as of October 4, the current red-amber-green country lists that govern arrivals into England would cease to exist. In their place will be a “simpler” red list of no-go destinations.
-In addition, he said, eight countries will be removed from the red list on October 22, including Turkey – a popular destination for UK vacationers – Bangladesh, Egypt, the Maldives, Oman, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Kenya.
-The UK will no longer require pre-departure tests before arrival into England for fully vaccinated travelers coming from non-red list countries starting from October 4, said Shapps.
-“From later in October, (fully vaccinated travelers) will be able to replace the day two PCR test with a cheaper lateral flow,” he added, referring to the test required two days after arriving in England. Full article: https://dev-lite.cnn.com/en/article/h_1dba0be3d39535cd3ffae6e5c012bc6d

The panel that advises the Food and Drug Administration rejects use of booster dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in people younger than 65 on Friday: Pfizer had petitioned the FDA to approve a third dose of the two-shot vaccine for use in those ages 16 to 65 in the United States about six months after receiving the second dose of the vaccine, but the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee voted 16-2 to deny the petition, citing a lack of evidence to show the clear benefit of administering the booster shots to patients with fully functional immune systems.

Wednesday night’s spectacular fireball seen across south Spain: On 15 September 2021, at 22:25 local time (equivalent to 20:25 universal time), a rock (a meteoroid) from an asteroid impacted the atmosphere at about 76.000 km/h over the south of Spain. The high temperature reached during its atmospheric entry gave rise to a fireball that began at a height of around 91 km over the province of Badajoz. The fireball moved northwest and ended at a height of about 22 km above the same province. The preliminary analysis of this event shows that the rock was not fully destroyed: a small part of the object could survive and reach the ground as a meteorite.
The event was recorded in the framework of the SMART project, operated by the Southwestern Europe Meteor Network (SWEMN), from the meteor-observing stations located at the astronomical observatories of Calar Alto (Almería), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra, La Hita, and Sevilla. SPAIN

Nuclear power companies threaten to shut down plants if Spanish government takes action on soaring bills: Spain’s energy companies are preparing to fight back against the government’s plans to reduce their “extraordinary profits” and redirect these to consumers. The energy sector says it will be ‘impossible to continue’ if their excess gains are cut as part of the raft of measures aimed at reducing the cost of electricity for consumers.
The Nuclear Forum, a group that also includes the main electricity companies, warned that if a government bill on reducing CO2 emission-related profits gets greenlighted by Congress, “the continuity of Spain’s nuclear plants would become impossible.”
Despite the Nuclear Forum’s warning about the risk of having to shut down plants ahead of time due to untenable costs, the owners of these facilities do not have the power to unilaterally decide on their date of closure, but must instead make a request to the relevant ministry. These plants typically operate on 10-year licenses and must honor the timeframes or face hefty sanctions. The wholesale electricity market shoots up to a new record of 188 euros / MWh after the Government’s shock plan: The average daily price of electricity in the wholesale market is going to pulverize another record this Thursday, already shooting above 188 euros / MWh, after the shock plan approved by the Government on Tuesday was approved, which, among other measures, cut 2,600 million to electricity companies due to the increase in gas prices to mitigate its impact on the receipt of consumers. Windows 11 available on Oct 5: Windows 11 will start to become available on October 5, 2021. On this day, the free upgrade to Windows 11 will begin rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PCs and PCs that come pre-loaded with Windows 11 will start to become available for purchase. (I strongly suggest you wait a few months before upgrading to Windows 11, especially if your computer is more than 3 years old. Give them a chance to work out the bugs! I will get it for testing the day it comes out, and also monitor industry analyst reviews. I will report my findings back here. I will also post a guide on how to properly prepare your device for the Win 11 Upgrade. This is a major upgrade, and you want to do it as “cleanly” as possible to get the best performance from the “new” system. Installing on top of a bunch of junk is asking for trouble, especially on laptops more than 3 years old. Why 3 years? It has to do with new features added to processors in 2018. Win 11 will look for these processor features when it installs. If it identifies a pre-2018 processor during install, the installer will attempt alternative installation protocols with patches for older processors, that are less than optimal. These type of processor patches have a reputation for being unreliable, the older the laptop, the more likely to fail. The good news is that Win 10 is supported for another 4 years. By then it will certainly be time to replace those old pre 2018 laptops.
Read about all the new features and changes here:

Microsoft is further nudging users away from passwords by rolling out passwordless sign-in options to all consumer Microsoft accounts: To that end, and as it gears up to launch Windows 11 in just a few weeks, Microsoft is rolling out its passwordless sign-in option, previously available only to commercial customers, to all Microsoft accounts. This means that users will be able to sign in to services, such as Outlook and OneDrive, without having to use a password. Instead, users can use the Microsoft Authenticator app, Windows Hello, a security key and SMS or emailed codes. New company documents show Facebook knows Instagram is toxic for teen girls: Instagram says it’s looking at new ways to discourage users from focusing on their physical appearance after The Wall Street Journal revealed that Facebook researchers have repeatedly found that the photo-sharing platform is toxic for teen girls.
The newspaper reported on Tuesday that researchers at Facebook, which purchased Instagram in 2012, have been conducting studies for the past three years into how the app affects its millions of young users. The research shows the platform can damage mental health and body image, especially among teen girls. Halting Erosion using Vetiver:
From Vetiver Spain in Sayalonga
Our Nursery is open by appointment depending on the current travel restrictions. Please email or call first. We have Moringa seedlings, Organic Moringa powder and Comfrey plants. We also have some local trees and some exotic trees from Africa.
Vetiver is a rapid growing and non-invasive sterile clump grass with a height of 1-2 metres and a root system of 3-4 metres in depth. We have been providing Vetiver throughout the EU for almost 10 years now. We are located in Sayalonga where we can plant year round but our best results by far start in February. The reason is that Vetiver is indigenous to India and Vetiver loves the heat of the summer. Use Vetiver cuttings as mulch around all of your fruit trees. Decomposing Vetiver improves soil quality, keeps the weeds down and the insects away all while helping to maintain soil moisture.
Vetiver is a nutritious and replenishable animal fodder. Horses and pigs love it. We use it in our chicken pens replacing hay because it stops mites.
In the 2 photos below you will see land prepared for Vetiver and the results 2 years later.
We also use Vetiver along driveways and sidewalks. It also makes a great and inexpensive ornamental hedge.
Here is a link to a short video showing the results.
https://youtu.be/rjTmb_LL2uo
We suggest planting now, as this is the BEST time of the year to plant.
To see more images of Vetiver go to this link.

The report, published in The Lancet on Monday, said although a booster shot may be “appealing”, the available evidence does not support boosters for the general population.

SPAIN

Spain announces new measures to bring down soaring energy bills: The escalation of prices on the wholesale market has pressured the Spanish government – headed by a center-left coalition of the Socialist Party (PSOE) and junior partner Unidas Podemos – to take action to curb the cost of household energy bills.
While the government has no control over the wholesale market – which is set by a daily auction – Sánchez told state broadcaster RTVE that he aims to limit the impact of these price rises with a new action plan that will be approved by the Spanish Cabinet on Tuesday.
-The plan involves four fronts: structural reform to promote cleaner and cheaper energy, measures to protect the most vulnerable households, cuts on some taxes and redirecting some of the profits made by energy companies back to the consumer. Football News- Sevilla and Salzburg shatter Champions League record amid penalty farce 1-1 draw: A chaotic opening matchday in Seville saw four penalties awarded in a crazy half-hour – of which three were won by the same player – during a farcical Champions League encounter. It was the first time that four penalties had been awarded in a Champions League encounter over the course of 90 minutes and was all the more remarkable as all were awarded in the space of 30 chaotic first half minutes. Beware of Fake “Team Viewer” Software Downloads:
-Users searching for TeamViewer remote desktop software on search engines like Google are being redirected to malicious links that drop ZLoader malware onto their systems while simultaneously embracing a stealthier infection chain that allows it to linger on infected devices and evade detection by security solutions.
-The latest wave of attacks is believed to target users of Australian and German financial institutions with the primary goal of intercepting users’ web requests to the banking portals and stealing bank credentials. But the campaign is also noteworthy because of the steps it takes to stay under the radar, including running a series of commands to hide the malicious activity by disabling Windows Defender.
-The infection chain commences when a user clicks on an advertisement shown by Google on the search results page and is redirected to the fake TeamViewer site under the attacker’s control, thus tricking the victim into downloading a rogue but signed variant of the software (“Team-Viewer.msi”).
-DoctorLaptop adds:
If you suspect you have installed this rouge version of Team Viewer, here is a procedure to correctly remove it.
1. Uninstall Team Viewer, restart computer.
2. Run CCleaner’s registry cleaner and delete all the junk files it finds. Restart computer.
3. This malware disables Windows Defender, so we need to use another malware removal tool. Do a full system malware scan with a free “online malware scanner”. I suggest ESET Online Malware Scanner.
https://www.eset.com/uk/home/online-scanner/
Be sure to check the box to allow the scanner to automatically remove threats.
Be aware this scan can take 6 to 8hrs or longer, depending on your internet connection and the amount of data on your hard drive. I suggest you start it before going to bed, it will be done and showing the scan results when you return to the computer the next day.
4. Restart computer and check in Settings>Windows Security>Virus & Threat Detection, and confirm that Windows Defender (if on a Windows computer) is enabled. You may need to click the yellow button to restart Defender.
(As previously covered here, unless you use Team Viewer everyday, you should only install it when needed, and then uninstall it when finished. It is very dangerous to leave Team Viewer installed on a computer when it is not being used.)

Update Google Chrome to Patch 2 New Zero-Day Flaws Under Attack: —-Google on Monday released security updates for Chrome web browser to address a total of 11 security issues, two of which it says are actively exploited zero-days in the wild.
-As is typically the case, the company said it’s “aware that exploits for CVE-2021-30632 and CVE-2021-30633 exist in the wild” without sharing additional specifics about how, when, and where the vulnerabilities were exploited, or the threat actors that may be abusing them.
With these two security shortcomings, Google has addressed a total of 11 zero-day vulnerabilities in Chrome since the start of the year. Full article: https://thehackernews.com/2021/09/update-google-chrome-to-patch-2-new.html

Fakebook Censors Song Critical of Biden’s Afghan Exit: With unusual speed, Facebook has blocked a Grammy-nominated songwriter from promoting his new tune that pays tribute to U.S. troops in Afghanistan and whacks President Joe Biden’s bumbled withdrawal.
On John Ondrasik’s page, Facebook said it was blocking an ad to promote his new song, “Blood on my hands,” because “it doesn’t comply with our advertising policies.”
Ondrasik wrote the just-released song in reaction to the deaths of 13 service members in the days leading to the full U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and the plight of those left behind, especially women. APPLE EMERGENCY PATCH ALERT- Apple wants you to update your iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch ASAP! : Apple is warning users to update their devices as soon as possible after it fixed a major spyware flaw. The company has released emergency software updates in iOS 14.8 after learning of a vulnerability that let hackers break into Apple devices without users even clicking a link!
-Known as Pegasus, the spyware can record texts, emails, and phone calls, and share them. It can also turn on devices’ cameras and microphones. “This spyware can do everything an iPhone user can do on their device and more,” Citizen Lab researcher John Scott-Railton told the Times.
-Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Full article: https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-fixed-iphone-flaw-let-hackers-spy-without-link-clicks-2021-9

REVEALED- Fakebook exempts secret ‘whitelisted’ elite from its rules and allows them to post banned content with special XCheck program: The Silicon Valley giant’s program, called ‘XCheck’ or ‘cross check,’ created a so-called ‘whitelist’ of celebrities who are immune from enforcement, according to The Wall Street Journal.
XCheck’ allowed international soccer star Neymar to post nude photos of a woman who had accused him of rape in 2019. The images were deleted by Fakebook after a whole day, allowing them to be seen by Neymar’s tens of millions of his followers. Fakebook’s standard procedure calls for deleting ‘nonconsensual intimate imagery’ as well as deleting the account. But Neymar’s nude photos of the woman were allowed to remain in public view for more than 24 hours and his account was not deactivated. (Many other examples of  celeb’s illegal posts evidently immune from FB censors in the full article. -Ed.)
Last year, ‘XCheck’ allowed posts that violated Fakebook guidelines to be viewed at least 16.4 billion times before they were finally removed, according to a document obtained by the Journal. US drone strike mistakenly targeted Afghan aid worker and nine family members, investigation finds:
-The US mistakenly targeted and killed an innocent aid worker for an American company in a drone strike in Afghanistan.
-The victim was 43-year-old Zemari Ahmadi, who died with nine members of his family, including seven children, when a missile from a US air force Reaper drone struck his car as he arrived home from work in a residential neighborhood of Kabul.
-US military officials have insisted the targets of the 29 August operation were Islamic State suicide bombers plotting an attack on Kabul airport
-What the US military observers figured was Ahmadi acting suspiciously, the newspaper said, was him going about his normal business as a worker for the California-based aid group Nutrition and Education International. The “explosives” in the vehicle were water cartons that Ahmadi filled from a hose at his office and was taking home to his family.
-The Washington Post also published its own investigation into the deadly US strike, which reached similar conclusions. Photo:Xinhua/Rex/Shutterstock. Full article: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/sep/11/us-drone-strike-mistakenly-targeted-afghan-aid-worker-investigation-finds

SPAIN

The price of electricity is still unbridled this Monday- it breaks a new record by reaching 154 euros: {Translation}
-The average price of electricity in the wholesale market or ‘pool’ will stand tomorrow Monday at 154.16 euros per megawatt / hour (MWh), which is the highest price in the history of Spain, above the record that beat last Friday, at 152.32 euros.
-The price of the ‘pool’ will be paid tomorrow ten euros more expensive than today (144.18), which has been the most expensive Sunday since records have been kept, and almost four times more than on the same Monday in 2020, when it was paid at 43.49 euros.
-By time slots, the maximum will reach 170 euros between 21.00 and 22.00 hours and the minimum at 125 euros from 05.00 to 06.00 and from 06.00 to 07.00.
-In Spain, the wholesale price has a weight of around 24% in the electricity bill of the more than 10 million households that use the regulated tariff or Voluntary Price for Small Consumers (PVPC).
-The Council of Ministers is expected to approve on Tuesday a new package of measures to cushion the rise in the price of electricity in the wholesale market, which could include a new tax cut, the revision of the regulated tariff or PVPC so that it is not so exposed to the fluctuations of the wholesale market and to force the large electricity companies to auction energy between retailers and industrialists.
-Meanwhile, the PP has started this weekend in Madrid its leaflet distribution campaign with the measures it proposes to reduce the electricity bill by 20%: keep VAT at 10%, abolish the tax on the value of electricity production, use the more than 2,000 million of CO2 emission rights and include non-energy costs in the General State Budget. Two fires meet in Sierra Bermeja creating a new front and forcing the evacuation of four more villages: Updated: 12 September 2021,16:27
Residents in Alpandeire, Júzcar, Faraján and Pujerra join those of Jubrique and Genalguacil in being ordered to leave their homes as a precaution.
The number of people evacuated due to the fire is likely to be over 3,000 with the population of the six villages added to the 1,620 people already told to leave their homes in Estepona and Benahavís.
The fire officer explained that the four areas of activity last night (Saturday, 11 September) were going “reasonably well” and that today they hoped that they would be totally stabilised by this Sunday night, but everything changed early on Sunday morning when the new fie broke out. Benamargosa will cut water supply from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. because of the drought: {Translation}
-The town council warns that water should be used for domestic needs and that the Local Police will be attentive to any infraction. Its mayor, Salvador Arcas, has just reported on the water cut for 8 hours a day, specifically from 11 at night until 7 in the morning.
This comes to us from the consistory of Benamargosa:
“That due to the pressing drought we are suffering, coupled with the summer season in which we find ourselves and the absence of rainfall, has resulted in a rapid decline in resources and an increasing shortage of water for domestic supply of the population.
It is for this reason that all the neighbors are informed that water cuts will be carried out from 23:00 hours until 07:00 hours in the morning, as long as the current situation is not regularized.
To this effect, I have to remind you that water should be used basically to meet the primary domestic needs and in no case for other uses other than those contracted such as agricultural hazards, home covers, car washing, etc ….
In order to avoid the improper use of the water supply by the population, I give instructions to the Local Police to proceed to carry out inspection work, in order to verify that it is used in accordance with the current and applicable law, incurring in serious irresponsibilities those who make fraudulent use of this.
This is made public for general compliance and knowledge for the good of the population”. Source, Spanish: https://www.axarquiaplus.es/benamargosa-cortara-el-sumistro-de-agua-de-11-de-la-noche-a-7-de-la-manana-por-la-sequia/

UK ditches plans for vaccine passports at crowded venues: Authorities in Britain have decided not to require vaccine passports for entry into nightclubs and other crowded events in England, Britain’s health secretary said Sunday, reversing course amid opposition from some of the Conservative government’s supporters in Parliament.
Health Minister Sajid Javid said the government has shelved the idea of vaccine passports for now but could reconsider the decision if COVID-19 cases rise exponentially once again.

Tennis News- How Emma Raducanu of Great Britain, 18-Year-Old US Open Winner, Made Tennis History: At only 18 years old, she accomplished a feat on Saturday that very few could have predicted, winning the U.S. Open title. Representing the United Kingdom, Raducanu bested 19-year-old Canadian Leylah Fernandez for the win with a final score of 6-4, 6-3, in a final that was already an anomaly as the first time it’s been exclusively teens squaring off in the final in more than 20 years.
Although Raducanu has dual citizenship in Canada and the U.K., her monumental win is a big deal for Britain in particular; she’s the first female British player to win a Grand Slam event in 44 years. The last was Virginia Wade, who won Wimbledon in 1977. Full article: https://www.nepm.org/post/how-emma-raducanu-18-year-old-us-open-winner-made-tennis-history#stream/0

El Puente Christian Fellowship is a loving, multi-national, Bible believing community of Christ, who meet each Sunday at 11 am to worship The Lord. We enjoy a time of worship with contemporary songs and traditional hymns, and a message brought to us by one of the Elders or a visiting speaker.
The church meeting hall is situated underneath Maroma Inmobiliaria Puente Don Manuel, Cruce de Periana – 29713.
Full directions and further information can be found on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/El-Puente-Christian-Fellowship-105285888299225/or please contact us by email on elpuentechristianfellowship@gmail.com. For those who cannot join us in person, we aim to stream Sunday services via the Facebook page (subject to a good internet connection!).

St George’s Church Málaga: We are part of the Church of England in Spain covering the area from Torremolinos in the west to the outskirts of Nerja in the east and to the northern edge of Malaga province.
We have three worship centres, in Velez-Málaga, Málaga city and Salinas. Everyone is welcome to our Sunday services in English, and you can also contact us to enquire about baptisms, marriage blessings, funerals, and house blessings.
Father Louis, our Chaplain, is available for counsel and support, regardless of anyone’s beliefs or background. We aspire to be a welcoming and inclusive community, open to all people seeking faith and friendship.
If you can’t get to church, we live-stream our Sunday services on Facebook, and also gather on Zoom for an informal service on Wednesday mornings.
Sign up for our newsletter by emailing Father Louis at malagachaplain@gmail.com to receive login details, and news of other future events. We look forward to welcoming you and being of service.

Coronavirus-sniffing dogs unleashed at Miami airport to detect virus in employees: Though Miami is the first American airport to use dogs to detect the virus, countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Finland began testing the idea last summer.
The canines’ accuracy rivals traditional coronavirus tests and even some lab equipment, Furton said. He cited a double-blind study published by FIU, which found the animals achieved 96 to 99 percent accuracy rates for detecting the virus.
The sniffer dogs will spend their shifts sniffing the face coverings of employees passing through a checkpoint to detect the presence of the virus in sweat, breath and scents due to metabolic changes that the virus causes in the human body. If a dog signals the odor of the virus on a person, that individual will be asked to take a rapid coronavirus test, the airport said.

COVID-19

Covid Malaga- Malaga registers two deaths and new infections remain below 200 cases: {Translation} Updated: 9Sep21
-The incidence rate of coronavirus in the province continues to fall and stands at 123 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, while only the Costa del Sol Health District remains at level 2 health alert.
Coronavirus data in Malaga, which since Thursday is now almost entirely at level 1 health alert remain stable although in the last two days there have been slight increases in infections. They are still below 200 cases per day and far from the 275 with which the week started.
-Specifically, the Ministry of Health and Families of the Andalusian Regional Government has notified this Thursday 156 infections in Malaga in the last 24 hours, thirty more than yesterday and 88 more than Tuesday.
-Regarding the deaths, there are two more deaths in the province in the last 24 hours. In the nine days of September 32 people have lost their lives, ten of them have died this week. But in recent days there has also been a slight decrease in this section of the statistics, since the same days of last week (August 30 and September 2) left 27 victims, that is, the deaths would have been reduced by half.
-At present, 196 patients are admitted to hospital and 44 of them are in the ICU, which means that the situation on the ward has improved in the last week (with 34 less bedridden), but the occupancy of the ICU remains identical.
-As for the incidence rate, the province stands this Thursday with 123 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to data from the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA), six points less than yesterday, Wednesday. The fall has slowed, but still maintains the clear downward trend. For its part, the capital is at 133.8 cases, compared to 140.9 the day before.

ANDALUCIA

Andalusians wait an average of 44 days to have surgery and 86 days to see a specialist: {Translation, summary}
-During an appearance to report on the situation of the health waiting list during the pandemic, Aguirre reported the existence of 123,339 patients on the surgical waiting list in Andalusia, which represents a reduction of 22 percent compared to December 2018 and almost 20% compared to June 2020, reducing the average delay by 66 days.
-“We have made a greater effort in those patients pending surgery outside the deadline or who have been waiting for more than 365 days, as the reduction has been 30.8% (with respect to 2018) and almost 61% with respect to June 2020,” referred Aguirre.
-With respect to procedures guaranteed by law, the number of patients waiting is reduced by 2.6% with respect to 2018, and by 7.9% with respect to June 2020 data, reducing the average delay to 44 days.
-The reduction of patients in guaranteed procedures has been 65% with respect to those a year ago; having reduced the number of patients to 90 and 120 days. With respect to 180-day procedures, the number of patients has been reduced compared to a year ago but slightly increased compared to December 2018.
-Regarding the waiting list in outpatient consultations, the number of patients with delays of more than 60 days has been reduced by 16 percent, to place the measured delay at 87 days.
-In diagnostic tests, the situation is somewhat worse than in 2018 and similar to the end of 2019 in patients with delays of more than 30 days; it represents, however, 12 percent fewer patients compared to the previous year.
-Aguirre noted that the greatest effort has been made in serious pathologies that do not admit delay. From March 19 to June 30, 2021, 975 programmable pending patients with tumor pathology have been operated on, representing a reduction of 27% with an average delay for the intervention of 25 days.

EUROPE

EU Health Agency Says Only Three EU Countries Are Safe to Travel to, Though Overall Situation Is Improving: In line with the figures published by ECDD today, September 9, only the following three countries and four regions, which have detected less than 50 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants during the last 14 days, are currently placed in the green category:
Czechia
Hungary
Poland
Region of Italy: Aosta
Region of Romania: Transylvania
Regions of Slovakia: Prešov and Košice
Consequently, this means that travel to these countries/regions is safe. In addition, in general, travellers from these countries and regions reaching the other EU Member States should not be subject to any entry restrictions. Still, it is up to each Member State to decide on its rules, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

Morocco’s ruling Islamists defeated by liberals after decade in power: The Islamist Justice and Development Party (PJD), which has been in power since 2011, won just 12 seats in the country’s 395-seat parliament, plummeting from the 125 seats it got in the 2016 parliament.
The PJD’s liberal rival, the National Rally of Independents (RNI), won 97 seats to become the largest party in parliament.
The Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) came in second, winning 82 seats to retain its position as the second biggest party, despite winning fewer seats than in the last parliament. Smart Glasses by Facebook and RayBan Mix Cool With Creepy- Personal SpyCams Go Mainstream: Ray-Ban’s Stories look like classic sunglasses. Except they’re made in partnership with Facebook and have built-in cameras that are hard to spot. We tested them.
Look, did I feel creepy recording my mother and my aunt without them knowing? Or my barista? Or a random couple at the coffee shop? Or my Uber driver? Or an aggressive squirrel in Central Park? I sure did, but I was just doing my job. Not one spotted the cameras or the recording light until I told them.
And they’re powered by technology from Facebook, which has a long history of privacy issues.
Yet whenever I think of the cool, I can’t shake the creepy. Easy to record your kids! And just as easy for some stranger to record your kids. Easy to capture spontaneous moments with your friends! And just as easy for someone to record a partner who is unaware a camera is on.
Dystopian? Sure. But one of the big lessons of the last decade – and the rise of Big Tech – is that cutting-edge convenience comes at a cost. We’ve already slid down a few slippery slopes, including a lack of data privacy and smartphone dependency. The cost may be worth it at times. We have free search engines and social networks, and little computers in our pockets that do so much.
But before we tumble down the next slippery slope it is worth much deeper consideration. In the case of the Ray-Ban Stories, I’m not convinced being able to take pictures without a smartphone in your hands is worth the potential privacy concerns.
(Privacy and confidentiality will soon be a relic of the past. In the very near future EVERYTHING you do and say, and every penny you spend, and everywhere you go, and all your documents and records, will be recorded, and stored on blockchain for all time, instantly accessible by those providing the data services. And you will pay for the privilege! You will eventually be sold on new convenience and security services the glasses can provide, buy these glasses and feed data of your constant movements to Big-tech. It could even become mandatory. “The world will be safer if we know what everyone is doing all the time”, they will say.  Yes folks, that is where big-tech is headed.
Surveillance cams and microphones are ubiquitous. Smartphones and digital assistants listen for our every word. Everything on the Internet is captured and saved. Now they want to turn every individual into a walking spy-cam! Please remember, every time you give up some privacy, it takes away with it some of your liberty that prior generations thought was worth fighting and dying for. -Ed.)

Cómpeta Art Walk is back on September 17, 18 & 19 2021 after an 18 month break:
This will be the 12th year that this beautiful white mountain village has hosted the Art Walk, with many international artists, sculptors and craftspeople exhibiting in their own homes, galleries or in municipal buildings.
You will get the chance to talk to the exhibitors about their motivation, inspiration and creative processes in their art, and of course to purchase pieces.
All spaces are within a manageable walking distance of each other (some steep roads, this is a mountain village), and can be viewed in one day.
As there will be a 2 hour break from 2.00pm – 4.00pm why not book a table at one of the many wonderful restaurants that are scattered throughout Cómpeta, or indeed make a weekend of it and book your own accommodation.
There will be live music on Saturday night in the main square and possibly other smaller musical events throughout the weekend.
Admission is absolutely free, no need to book (only accommodation and restaurants), so don’t miss out on this fabulous event.
We hope to see you at Cómpeta Art Walk on 17, 18 & 19 September 2021.

Purchasing a funeral plan with Golden Leaves enables you to plan, design and pay for your funeral services in advance.

MALAGA

The Costa del Sol remains at health alert Level 2, while Malaga city drops to Level 1: Five of the six health districts in Malaga province are now at Level 1, while the major coastal resorts will still face tighter coronavirus control measures for at least another week.
The only exception is the Costa del Sol health district, which includes the major tourist towns of the coast, and which will not see its existing coronavirus control measures eased for at least another week.
The Malaga health district has moved from Level 2 to Level 1, joining the health districts of the Axarquía, La Vega, Serranía and Guadalhorce that are already enjoying an easing of measures, mainly relating to capacity limits that affect the hospitality, commerce and culture sectors.
The move to Level 1 allows greater capacity in shops (up to one hundred per cent) and in culture (up to 85 per cent in theatres, cinemas and auditoriums).
In hospitality, the number of people who can sit at the same table increases to ten on terraces and eight indoors, compared to eight on terraces and six indoors at Level 2. Full article: http://www.surinenglish.com/local/202109/08/costa-remains-health-alert-20210908192710.html

(I told you so. -Ed.) New report: Facebook reads and shares your WhatsApp private messages, “secure end to end encryption” claim is a lie: In 2016, WhatsApp announced it was using end-to-end encryption for all communications on its platform, covering everything from messages to file transfers. The use of end-to-end encryption is intended to offer users privacy and security, but it seems that may not be true for the messaging app. In a report by ProPublica, it is claimed WhatsApp employs more than 1,000 contract workers in Austin, Texas, Dublin, and Singapore, specifically for examining “millions of pieces of users’ content.” The workers “use special Facebook software” to look through messages and content that have been flagged by WhatsApp users, and have been screened by AI systems. What’s more, the company reportedly shares certain private data with law enforcement agencies, such as the US Department of Justice.
The revelation comes after Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg has repeatedly said that WhatsApp messages are not seen by the company. “We don’t see any of the content in WhatsApp,” the CEO said during testimony before the US Senate in 2018.
{These abuses are now public, what others remain undisclosed? Never believe anything Fakebook or WhatsApp says. They care nothing about their users privacy or gov’t regulations. On the contrary, they make a biz out of abusing your trust. Why else would they give you services for free? There is only so much ad space on a page, that was filled long ago. So now, searching for new “income streams”, they sell your data, and they need more and more of it to continue growing. They are insatiable. All that drives them is profit, and they are willing to pay fines along the way, as an operating expense, and even lie to US Congress, rather than playing by the rules. What is not yet public, but is well known by techies working for big tech, is that these content screeners are an over-worked, under-paid bunch, that will sell private data to the highest bidder, to significantly boost their incomes! -Ed.}
