Halting Erosion using Vetiver:
From Vetiver Spain in Sayalonga
Our Nursery is open by appointment depending on the current travel restrictions. Please email or call first. We have Moringa seedlings, Organic Moringa powder and Comfrey plants. We also have some local trees and some exotic trees from Africa.
Vetiver is a rapid growing and non-invasive sterile clump grass with a height of 1-2 metres and a root system of 3-4 metres in depth. We have been providing Vetiver throughout the EU for almost 10 years now. We are located in Sayalonga where we can plant year round but our best results by far start in February. The reason is that Vetiver is indigenous to India and Vetiver loves the heat of the summer. Use Vetiver cuttings as mulch around all of your fruit trees. Decomposing Vetiver improves soil quality, keeps the weeds down and the insects away all while helping to maintain soil moisture.
Vetiver is a nutritious and replenishable animal fodder. Horses and pigs love it. We use it in our chicken pens replacing hay because it stops mites.
In the 2 photos below you will see land prepared for Vetiver and the results 2 years later.
We also use Vetiver along driveways and sidewalks. It also makes a great and inexpensive ornamental hedge.
Here is a link to a short video showing the results.
https://youtu.be/rjTmb_LL2uo
We suggest planting now, as this is the BEST time of the year to plant.
To see more images of Vetiver go to this link.

SPAIN

Spain announces new measures to bring down soaring energy bills: The escalation of prices on the wholesale market has pressured the Spanish government – headed by a center-left coalition of the Socialist Party (PSOE) and junior partner Unidas Podemos – to take action to curb the cost of household energy bills.
While the government has no control over the wholesale market – which is set by a daily auction – Sánchez told state broadcaster RTVE that he aims to limit the impact of these price rises with a new action plan that will be approved by the Spanish Cabinet on Tuesday.
-The plan involves four fronts: structural reform to promote cleaner and cheaper energy, measures to protect the most vulnerable households, cuts on some taxes and redirecting some of the profits made by energy companies back to the consumer. Football News- Sevilla and Salzburg shatter Champions League record amid penalty farce 1-1 draw: A chaotic opening matchday in Seville saw four penalties awarded in a crazy half-hour – of which three were won by the same player – during a farcical Champions League encounter. Beware of Fake “Team Viewer” Software Downloads:
-Users searching for TeamViewer remote desktop software on search engines like Google are being redirected to malicious links that drop ZLoader malware onto their systems while simultaneously embracing a stealthier infection chain that allows it to linger on infected devices and evade detection by security solutions.
-The latest wave of attacks is believed to target users of Australian and German financial institutions with the primary goal of intercepting users’ web requests to the banking portals and stealing bank credentials. But the campaign is also noteworthy because of the steps it takes to stay under the radar, including running a series of commands to hide the malicious activity by disabling Windows Defender.
-The infection chain commences when a user clicks on an advertisement shown by Google on the search results page and is redirected to the fake TeamViewer site under the attacker’s control, thus tricking the victim into downloading a rogue but signed variant of the software (“Team-Viewer.msi”).
-DoctorLaptop adds:
If you suspect you have installed this rouge version of Team Viewer, here is a procedure to correctly remove it.
1. Uninstall Team Viewer, restart computer.
2. Run CCleaner’s registry cleaner and delete all the junk files it finds. Restart computer.
3. This malware disables Windows Defender, so we need to use another malware removal tool. Do a full system malware scan with a free “online malware scanner”. I suggest ESET Online Malware Scanner.
https://www.eset.com/uk/home/online-scanner/
Be sure to check the box to allow the scanner to automatically remove threats.
Be aware this scan can take 6 to 8hrs or longer, depending on your internet connection and the amount of data on your hard drive. I suggest you start it before going to bed, it will be done and showing the scan results when you return to the computer the next day.
4. Restart computer and check in Settings>Windows Security>Virus & Threat Detection, and confirm that Windows Defender (if on a Windows computer) is enabled. You may need to click the yellow button to restart Defender.
(As previously covered here, unless you use Team Viewer everyday, you should only install it when needed, and then uninstall it when finished. It is very dangerous to leave Team Viewer installed on a computer when it is not being used.)

Update Google Chrome to Patch 2 New Zero-Day Flaws Under Attack: —-Google on Monday released security updates for Chrome web browser to address a total of 11 security issues, two of which it says are actively exploited zero-days in the wild.
-As is typically the case, the company said it’s “aware that exploits for CVE-2021-30632 and CVE-2021-30633 exist in the wild” without sharing additional specifics about how, when, and where the vulnerabilities were exploited, or the threat actors that may be abusing them.
With these two security shortcomings, Google has addressed a total of 11 zero-day vulnerabilities in Chrome since the start of the year. Full article: https://thehackernews.com/2021/09/update-google-chrome-to-patch-2-new.html

Fakebook Censors Song Critical of Biden’s Afghan Exit: With unusual speed, Facebook has blocked a Grammy-nominated songwriter from promoting his new tune that pays tribute to U.S. troops in Afghanistan and whacks President Joe Biden’s bumbled withdrawal.
On John Ondrasik’s page, Facebook said it was blocking an ad to promote his new song, “Blood on my hands,” because “it doesn’t comply with our advertising policies.”
Ondrasik wrote the just-released song in reaction to the deaths of 13 service members in the days leading to the full U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and the plight of those left behind, especially women. CORRECTION: Yesterdays article regarding Microsoft installing its new AI center in Barcelona mistakenly mentioned a “Security Center” being built at the old Malaga army base by Microsoft. The “Security Center” being built at the old Malaga army base is actually a Google owned facility. -Ed.
