UK registration of Vehicles in Spain

There has been much written on the subject over recent days, all trying to be helpful and some relaying experiences and some opinions or internet links to provide ‘information’. However ‘the devil is in the detail’ in that whilst we are part of the EU we are not part of the Schengen Zone. This is why we have to go through passport control when leaving or entering the UK. The EU permits fellow EU countries that belong to Schengen 6 months stay before requiring Spanish registration, whilst for those outside the Schengen Zone (i.e. UK) only 90 days in any 180 are permitted. The Schengen Zone agreement has been tightened recently as a result of recent terrorism attacks.   Hope this clarifies the argument.    Chris

 

Needed-Mobile Phone Signal Booster- Response

Below is a response to a request made on Sunday 10th September re:Services       We too had a number of issues re: mobile phone reception.  We asked for assistance via Digamextra but unfortunately all of the responses received were of a temporary nature and did not suit our long-term needs. However, we remain grateful that people responded at all and thankful for having a temporary service as opposed to none at all.  I took some time to investigate the best possible, long-term solution for us and, thankfully, found one. I hope the information below helps. Before buying anything download a free signal booster app to your mobile.  I downloaded 3 apps just to check different services e.g. Network Signal Booster (RealAppsMaker)Once downloaded give the app(s) time to respond and find a signal.  Before downloading the app(s) I could detect no signal at all to an intermittent one bar.  With the app(s) I could get 2 steady bars.  I continued to monitor this over a couple of days just to make sure that the signal would remain and wasn’t weather-affected.

1. With a steady signal.  I could then investigate appropriate signal repeaters.
2. The repeater that would best suit our needs is below and from Amazon.es https://www.amazon.es/dp/B01B1CU75I/ref=pe_3310721_185740151_E_item    Cost: 6,96€     The item was based in Velez-Malaga and arrived to our post office at Torrox Pueblo within 24 hours. I would recommend this seller.  We attempted to purchase the repeater on 2 previous, separate occasions (ebay and Light in the Box – both cheaper) on both occasions they cancelled the order the day it was to be delivered.  They were ‘supposed’ to be coming from Germany and Netherlands but both were being dispatched from China – had I known I would not have ordered them.  N.B.: this repeater may not suit everyone.

5. One we unpacked the repeater and antennae we then had to find were the best signal would be located.
6. We plugged in the repeater and tied the antennae to a tall ladder and walked about the terrace till the signal was strong and consistent.
7. We then climbed the ladder and attached the antennae to the roof – a low roof – so quite east to do.  It could also have been fitted to the side of the house.

Archez – dead kittens

So upset over the brutal killing of those tiny kittens. Can anyone give some indication as to who did this as whoever is responsible needs to be punished. As your letter said we are in the 21^st century and this is totally out of order and they may do it again. At the moment I am looking after 3 kittens that are adorable. It’s Been a Long Week This time last week we were putting up shelves and moving stock.  With deliveries rolling in daily the new Sugar and Spice at Todo Papel is now bursting with yummy groceries. Phase 1 is complete but the project goes on as we continue to search out new tasty treats. Already we have a list of customer requests that we are hunting down. We have an additional 4 metres of shelving in the new set up, with the opportunity to expand it further if required so if there is something that you think we ought to have please let us know.
Already we have some great new food products. We have added chipotle chilli sauce to our Mexican range. For vegetarians and non vegetarians alike we have new chilled dips, black olive hummus and Tzatziki, and cashew and cranberry, and Mediterranean sundried tomato nut roast kits. We also sell Spanish products such as pil pil mix and smoked paprika and to this range we have added flavoured  olive oils and olive pates.
Sugar and Spice has often been referred to as “The English Shop”, hardly surprising as we stock all the British staples ,crumpets, scones, sausages and bacon.  But we have never marketed ourselves as an English shop  as our customers have always had very diverse tastes.   Asian foods have always proved to be very popular with our customers. In our Chinese range we have fish sauce, Hoi Sin sauce, vinegars and oils, all the soy sauces, dark light, gluten free and ketjap manis (sweet). We have Thai curry pastes including Panang, Massaman, red, green and yellow, Pad Thai as well as many other Asian cooking ingredients . We have every herb and spice required to knock up an Indian curry but if you’d rather  cut out the leg work we have a great range of Indian curry pastes and sauces and even frozen take away curries from the Taj Mahal at Torrox Costa.

With the food department  now under the management of Todo Papel  we’re looking forward to getting stuck into  making changes at the original Sugar & Spice shop. Our decor  website  www.lacasabella.es has now been trading for over 2 years and now we have space to show more of  our beautiful  home wares here in Cómpeta. The website and shop can best be described as the same flavour. On the website we need continuity in the shop we need displays changing to keep people coming back. It gives us the chance to show some of the individual items that it’s not practical to show on the website.

Services Needed- Mobile phone – Signal Booster- Advice

Check if your mobile ‘phone has a “WiFi Calling” facility. Most modern mobiles will have it and decent carriers will support it,  eg my Samsung Galaxy 6 on Vodafone allows me to use it… But you may have to switch it on, your handbook or a helpline should guide you.   When in use “WiFi Calling” uses the internet to deliver your call – a bit like “WhatsApp” but not limited; good for all / most numbers.  Try Googling “WiFi Calling” for more technical and/or general information.Hopefully your mobile will have it.
