BREAKING NEWS: Fuengirola And Marbella Struck By Coronavirus As 3 New Cases Are Confirmed. The Coronavirus has hit both Fuengirola (1) and Marbella (2) with positive tests confirmed by the ministry of health. All 3 people confirmed have been taken into isolation and are being transfered to a hospital in Seville. This now confirms 5 cases in Andalusia in total.
The cases thankfully are not believed to have come from a super spreader but those who have been travelling and picked up the deadly virus.

February 29 is a “leap day” : Why Are Leap Years Necessary?
Adding an extra day every four years keeps our calendar aligned correctly with the astronomical seasons, since a year according to the Gregorian calendar (365 days) and a year according to Earth’s orbit around the Sun (approximately 365.25 days) are not the exact same length of time. Without this extra day, our calendar and the seasons would gradually get out of sync. A “leapling” is a person born on a leap day.

-Ages ago, Leap Day was known as “Ladies Day” or “Ladies’ Privilege,” as it was the one day when women were free to propose to men. Today, Sadie Hawkins Day sometimes applies to Feb 29 (leap day), based on this older tradition.

9.30 am – Capilla de Nuestra Señora del Carmen (The Fishermen’s Chapel). This small chapel is situated towards the western end of the beach and set back near the Chinasol Hotel and seafront. There is a Eucharist every Sunday from November through to March, and there is a Eucharist service on every alternative Sunday (1st and 3rd Sundays of the month in April, May, September and October). There are no services during the hot summer months of June, July and August.
Nerja
12.00 noon – Iglesia de San Miguel, Plaza Andalucía. There is a Eucharist service at this time throughout the year. The church is within easy walking distance of the first large roundabout as you drive into town from the Malaga direction, by the bus station.

Stock Market Posts Huge Losses Thursday- The Dow’s biggest one-day point decline in history: Stocks fell sharply in volatile trading Thursday as investors worried the coronavirus may be spreading in the U.S. A slew of corporate and analyst warnings on the virus dragged down the major averages, tipping them into correction territory.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted 1,190.95 points, or 4.4%, to close at 25,766.64. The S&P 500 slid 4.4% to 2,978.76 while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 4.6% to 8,566.48. The Dow had its worst day since February 2018 while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 posted its biggest one-day loss since August 2011.

Windows 10: Problems after this week’s updates include lost wifi connectability, inability to login, black screens, broken VPNs, missing desktop icons, lost data folders, etc. I had my complete Firefox installation disappear; no trace left, even the program files were deleted! I had to do a clean reinstall and reinsert all my bookmarks and passwords from my backup. ( If this happens to you, shut the computer immediately and bring it to me, I can probably recover your old Firefox with all the bookmarks and settings as they were. ) Some users have lost all their data folders, photos, docs, everything!
Update KB4532693 is the culprit, uninstall it immediately, and then block it, instructions are in the links provided below!!!
In many cases damage is not recoverable or requires an expert to do the complex recovery. Note that Google is censoring most articles discussing this Windows problem, use duckduckgo.com to search for info. How to Delay Windows Updates For A Month: From Settings, Open Windows Updates, Click Advanced Options, Scroll down to Pause Updates, Click the dropdown menu arrow, Choose the date that gives the longest pause. Then click the Back arrow at the top left of the window to go back one step, check that it now says you have paused Updates. You should be able to pause them for a month. Hopefully a month is long enough for Microsoft to sort this out. I will alert you here if you need to extend the Paused Updates setting.
Please be careful doing these fixes, if you make a mistake you could remove something you really need, and break your system. Don’t worry, if this happens I can usually fix it, but it’s not easy. Spain detects 10 new cases of coronavirus in 36 hours: A new positive is reported in Seville, adding to the patients in Madrid, Catalonia, the Valencia region and Tenerife. A man has been hospitalized in Seville after testing positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus, bringing to 10 the number of cases reported in Spain in the last 36 hours.
For the first time on Tuesday, the Spanish Health Ministry recommended that Spaniards restrict their journeys abroad. Minister Salvador Illa stated that unless it is strictly necessary, Spaniards do not go to four Italian regions – Lombardia, Piamonte, Emilia-Romana and Veneto – Japan, Iran, South Korea, Singapore and China. “There is no prohibition,” he said, “but unless it is essential, do not go to a risk zone. It’s common sense.”
The Health Ministry has raised the risk of local transmission from low to moderate. The measure has been taken “out of prudence” and to ensure that “the health systems are alert,” said Fernando Simón, director of the Coordination Center for Health Alerts and Emergencies. “In most of the country the risk is low. In the areas where there are cases, clearly the risk is moderate, and it could even be high,” said the health official at a news conference on Wednesday. (There is no reason to panic, but should you be located in an area designated as quarantined things could change quickly. If a case is confirmed locally you could be instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days to a month, as has happened in several cities in north Italy. Be prepared and informed. Germany warning over a virus epidemic: New cases brought Germany’s total to 21. The government said late Wednesday in a statement it would establish an emergency task force regarding the coronavirus outbreak.

Antisemitism row breaks out after Spanish town stages Holocaust parade for carnival: It wouldn’t be carnival in Spain without a bit of controversy over chosen themes. But one town in Spain has really taken it too far.
Young children paraded through the streets with yellow stars sewn to their left lapels, dancers in striped pyjamas waving Israeli flags and behind them officers in SS Waffen uniforms toting machine guns.
Welcome to the carnival procession in Las Mesas, a town in Cuenca province of Castilla-La Mancha, when a cultural association chose the Holocaust as their theme for celebration.
The display continued with a swastika wearing dominatrix brandishing her whip and flanked by dobermans atop a float designed to recreate Auschwitz, complete with twin chimneys.
The whole procession was choreographed to a Rosalia song. Another float represented the gates of the death camp with the infamous slogan “Arbeit macht frei“ – work sets you free” and yet another was a representation of a German tank.

How to Delay Windows Updates For A Month: From Settings, Open Windows Updates, Click Advanced Options, Scroll down to Pause Updates, Click the dropdown menu arrow, Choose the date that gives the longest pause. Then click the Back arrow at the top left of the window to go back one step, check that it now says you have paused Updates. You should be able to pause them for a month. Hopefully a month is long enough for Microsoft to sort this out. I will alert you here if you need to extend the Paused Updates setting.
Please be careful doing these fixes, if you make a mistake you could remove something you really need, and break your system. Don’t worry, if this happens I can usually fix it, but it’s not easy.

Parents are desperate to halt the spread of a dangerous new ‘challenge’ making its way through British schools – with two kids having already died. Ice Hockey Miracle- 42 Year Old Zamboni Driver Steps Into NHL Game As Emergency Goalie, AND WINS 6-3: On Saturday in Toronto, injuries to both of the Carolina Hurricanes two goalies forced them to call on in-house emergency Toronto goaltender David Ayres in the second period against the Toronto Maple leafs. Why it matters: Ayres, a 42-year-old Zamboni driver and aging minor league practice goalie, had watched the first period from the stands with his wife. Minutes later he was suiting up and skating onto the ice in a real NHL game.
How it works: NHL teams dress two goaltenders for games and typically would call on a minor league goalie if a third goalie was required due to injuries or other emergencies of the first two.
If logistics make that impossible, teams are allowed to play any available goaltending option, usually a local minor leaguer or retired goalie on call.
Emergency goalies are available to either team, which explains why Ayres suited up for the Hurricanes despite working for the Leafs ice rink maintenence’crew. Ayres was named the Player of the Game! Despite having bitter-sweet feelings about the situation, many Maple Leafs fans who were familiar with Ayres gave him a standing ovation after he led the opposing team to victory.

With your completed application attach a short biography and 3 recent photos of your work and email to:

Exhibition space will be allocated within the village but if you have a studio on the periphery of Torrox you can open your studio for the Camino and be included in the brochure which will have directions how to find you. Just apply in the same way.
In addition, all participants will exhibit one piece of work each for a preview exhibition to be held throughout the month of May at the beautiful gallery of the Tourist Office Torrox Costa. This will be a wonderful opportunity for visitors to appreciate the variety of work which will be shown at the Camino in June and also to be able to identify artists whose work they particularly admire.
There will be an Inauguration of the preview on May 8th.

Don’t worry, Alexa and friends only record you up to 19 times a day!: Have you ever wondered how often your smart speaker accidentally activates itself? A new study from Northeastern University reveals activations of smart speakers when it wasn’t you who uttered any wake word occur between 1.5 and 19 times a day.
More entertainingly, the average time of activation is 43 seconds, which means that 43 seconds of your conversations might be recorded by the kindly souls at Smart Speaker HQ.
But what are you supposed to do about it? Hope any conversation that might inadvertently be recorded will be so banal that no one will use it against you? Well, this week Robert Frederick, a former manager at Amazon Web Services, told the BBC that if he wants privacy he knows how to get it. He simply turns his Alexa device off.

Wind Turbine Blades Can’t Be Recycled, So They’re Piling Up in Landfills: Companies are searching for ways to deal with the tens of thousands of blades that have reached the end of their lives. A wind turbine’s blades can be longer than a Boeing 747 wing, so at the end of their lifespan they can’t just be hauled away. First, you need to saw through the lissome fiberglass using a diamond-encrusted industrial saw to create three pieces small enough to be strapped to a tractor-trailer.
Tens of thousands of aging blades are coming down from steel towers around the world and most have nowhere to go but landfills. In the U.S. alone, about 8,000 will be removed in each of the next four years. Europe, which has been dealing with the problem longer, has about 3,800 coming down annually through at least 2022, according to BloombergNEF. It’s going to get worse: Most were built more than a decade ago, when installations were less than a fifth of what they are now.
Built to withstand hurricane-force winds, the blades can’t easily be crushed, recycled or repurposed. That’s created an urgent search for alternatives in places that lack wide-open prairies. Guitar Fun: Guitar Master Class
The second session of Guitar Masterclass had eight guitarists and two vocalists of mixed abilities picking up the strum pattern and rhythm from the witty and hugely talented Tony. Starting and finish at more or less the same time, certainly improving at the second or third run through. Android Apps Spamming Users: Google has banned nearly 600 Android apps from the Play Store for bombarding users with disruptive ads and violating its advertising guidelines. Although Google didn’t name the specific apps in question, many of the apps — which had been installed more than 4.5 billion times — primarily targeted English-speaking users and were mainly from developers based in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and India.
Google has a strict policy with regards to adware and disruptive ads in general. “We don’t allow apps that contain deceptive or disruptive ads. Ads must only be displayed within the app serving them. We consider ads served in your app as part of your app. The ads shown in your app must be compliant with all our policies.”
The internet giant has also been leveraging Google Play Protect as a means to secure devices from potentially harmful applications by combining a mix of on-device protections and a cloud-based machine learning infrastructure to routinely scan apps, detect malicious apps faster and at a larger scale without any human supervision.

Scam Alert: Fake Windows 11 and Windows 12 Installation DVDs Being Sold. There is no such thing as Windows 11 or 12. If you are confused by the Windows 12 name, and wonder whether this may be a new operating platform that Microsoft may be working on, then wonder no more. For it’s not. It is simply a free distribution of Linux developed by an over eager developer that has slapped the Windows 12 name on it.
Windows 12 Lite was recently discovered at a local computer fair selling for 15UK, where it was being sold by a small company that is pitching this as an alternate to the Windows platform.
And not just pitching it, they’re making some tall claims on their official website, which itself looks like something straight out of the nineties, saying Windows 12 is far faster, and free of all the annoyances of Windows 10.
On closer inspection, it becomes clear that this is simply a customized version of Linux Lite, with a look that shares similarities with Windows. You have flat icons to go with a display that borrows heavily from Windows 10 to give that familiar feeling.
There are serious reasons why you should not bother with downloading or buying Windows 12 Lite. For starters, the name itself violates Microsoft’s trademarks, and the company may already be taking steps to take it down due to copyright infringement.
Then there is the fact that Linux Lite is not a particular secure distro to begin with, unlike some of the other popular ones that are more thoroughly audited for security and privacy concerns.

The first large scale operation against pirate IPTV users worldwide begins in Italy: Italian Police Report 223 Pirate IPTV Subscribers to the Judicial Authorities. According to the authorities, the targeted users risk a hefty fine as well as a potential prison sentence. According to the law enforcement agency, the investigation remains ongoing. This means that more IPTV subscribers may be identified and reported in the future.
The subscribers in question are being held responsible for the crime of “receiving stolen goods.” If found guilty, they risk a penalty of 25,000 euros as well as an eight-year prison sentence, the authorities state.
If and how many of the reported IPTV subscribers will indeed be prosecuted is unknown. However, the operation does show that subscribers are not untouchable, which will likely be used as a warning message to others.
