Official Statement from Archez Town Hall

The management and collection of stray animals is not a function of the Town hall, but an organisation called Mancomunidad, who then contract the collection to Don Animal.

The recent collection of cats has occurred following a number of complaints from people in the village and is something that happens annually and has done so for many years. The Mayoress of Archez, Mari Carmen, is a great believer in animal welfare and this is something beyond her control.

If you would like more information please contact Ruben Ariza on 952 553 159. As previously stated, the collection only occurs when the public make complaints and the Town hall is duty bound to report any complaints to the relevant organisation.

Tony Roam quoted £142, and did the job, the second quote was for £395.

Rentals- Owners Direct

We were very annoyed, too at the new service charges introduced by Owners Direct!

But after reading it through it seems that – if you don’t use the facility of accepting your payments through the website but still accepting payments direct – then it won’t apply.

It seems that soon any clients using this website will not be dealing with ‘owners direct’ !
All of the changes are very frustrating and taking away the personal nature of booking with Owners Direct. If anyone can suggest a good alternative I would love to know.

I currently advertise my property through Owners Direct, Holiday Lettings and Airbnb. Owners Direct is the only one that does not charge commission to the owner and the traveller but we are paying an annual listing fee to Owners Direct in lieu of this . The fee that Owners Direct are now levying to travellers is, in part, to be used to fund a full refund to customers who have been unlucky enough to book and pay for a property that has been advertised by fraudsters and does not actually exist and other serious problems that people experience. I would imagine that many potential travellers would want that reassurance as, currently, travel insurance does not cover these losses. As well as advertising my own property on Owners Direct, I do often use the site to rent properties in Rome etc for city breaks. I would be more likely to book through Owners Direct and have that reassurance, than through another site and not have it, but that is only my own personal view. The amount charged is on a sliding scale, the higher the value of the booking the lower the percentage charge will be ( I have no idea why).
You can prevent your guests from having to pay the fee by disabling request to book on your advert and disabling online payments but your number of enquiries may reduce as a result. We have been advertising for quite a number of years now and are in the lucky position that we have a lot of lovely guests who use our house year after year and they tend just to email me directly to deal with their booking but obviously we have built up trust in each other year on year which you are not going to have with guests visiting your property for the first time. It might be worth disabling your request to book facility for a short time to see how it goes and if your enquiries drop, just enable it again. It is interesting that owners are now going to be asked to review their experience with their guests which has always been the procedure with airbnb. M.M.

The Phoenix Club are off on their next shopping trip to Gibraltar on Friday the 3rd June and due to a cancellation we have 3 seats available.

We have pick ups at at the A1 Garden Centre, Torre del Mar bus station and finally at Algarrobo Lidl at 08.30. The bus is parked in Morrisons car park and we leave Gibraltar at 16.30. Due to visa restrictions on entering Gibraltar, please advise if you are a non EU citizen when you book. Also it is important to remember to bring with you your EHIC card, just in case, and passports are essential. On the way to Gibraltar we stop to spend a penny and for coffee.

Due to an increase in coach fares we have increased our prices by €1 and we would greatly appreciate if payment was made before the journey.

The price? €12pp includes a €1 gratuity for the driver. Children under 12 can join us for 1/2 price. Still the best value on the coast!

Adorable Kitten Needs a Home

As much as I hate to do this. We have to find a home for cute little beebee. She is the only kitten that popped out of an old cat that adopted us 6 weeks ago. Beebee is socialised litter trained and weaned. She is so sweet but she is too vulnerable around our 5 dogs. So it’s vital to find her a home asap. Windows 10: A New Dirty Trick & Links to Check Your PC

Microsoft has been accused of dirty tricks after apparently fooling users into upgrading to Windows 10 by changing a setting on a pop up so people who click on a red cross in the corner — which usually closes a window – are instead deemed to have accepted an upgrade. Previously Microsoft advised people not wishing to upgrade to click the red cross. Microsoft says anyone who inadvertently agrees to the upgrade — being dubbed “updategate” — can reverse the process if they wish. “If you click on OK or on the red box with an”X” in the upper left corner, you’re all set for the upgrade and there is nothing further to do,” says Microsoft on its website. “When you close this pop up, your PC will upgrade at the scheduled time. Based on customer feedback, in the most recent version of the Get Windows 10 (GWX) app, we confirm the time of your scheduled upgrade and provide you an additional opportunity for cancelling or rescheduling the upgrade.” Gee, thanks MS for making that clear…NOT.

All Windows 7 users who don’t want Windows 10 should choose to cancel. Under no circumstance should you accept the upgrade until you have confirmed your computer is supported for Windows 10 by checking your computer manufacturer’s website to confirm that your exact model is on their list of models the manufacturer supports for a Windows 10 upgrade. If the site says the upgrade to Windows 10 is not supported or un-tested do not do it. Some manufacturers make finding their list difficult to find. Be persistant. IT for idiots – Advice needed

Since installing Windows 10 (on a Lenovo laptop that’s just a few months old), I have been unable to save Word docs in pdf. I took my laptop in to our local cyber shop (from where it was bought) and the technician re-installed Adobe reader (which had disappeared) but this hasn’t helped. I’ve ‘asked Cortana´ on my laptop, and it seems I am not alone! However, the answers are complex and conflicting, and all way beyond the ken of an IT idiot like me. I don’t want to just take it back to the shop again, as I’m not convinced they are completely on top of Windows 10 problems (is anybody?).

Has anyone else in Digameland encountered this problem? Is there a simple (and I mean SIMPLE!) answer…? or other suggestions?

I really get fed up with “mans” usual solution to animal problems and that is to kill them especially when it is often “mans” irresponsibility that has caused the problem in the 1st place. As anon 2 (the cat hater) says, the cats could be caught and sterilized – so why doesn’t the mayor do that – why do the animal lovers have to do it when we know it is certain irresponsible residents (animal owners as opposed to animal lovers) of Archez who have caused this problem by not getting their cats (and dogs) sterilized. You will find it is the animal lovers who do go the extra mile and do sponsor sterilization programs and do adopt but it is about time the authorities stepped up and took on some of this burden caused by their residents/rate payers. Of course the mayor should be criticized for this cruel solution – she is in charge – the buck stops with her. Animal lovers are providing food to council run perreras because dogs are starving to death and dying due to a lack of veterinary treatment and animal groups are doing all they can already. I would also say that I have yet to see a trap that can differentiate between a domestic cat out for a prowl and a feral cat. I believe anon 1 was warning re the traps so that people could keep their pets in, which was more constructive than the message from anon 2 who only seems to want to vent about their dislike of feral cats but wants someone else to solve the problem and inappropriately directs their venom at animal lovers apparently expecting them to be responsible for every animal in Spain and possibly on the planet.

Although this warning is a very sensible one to let local cat owners know of the danger to their well kept domesticated pets. Archez does have a major problem with feral cats, in recent times their numbers have increased significantly and artificially. I say artificially as some people, both Spanish and foreign, put out food for the feral cat population. This upsets the local balance, where the ferals should be hunting for survival and their numbers controlled by the naturally available food.

Please think twice before doing this, unless you are actually taking the animal in as a pet. The action of the Mayoress is based on the many complaints received from the village population.

Re Archez Feral cat capture programme.

Before the mud slinging starts I would like to state a few facts

1/ As a resident in the village of Archez I feel a prior warning to those of us with domesticated cats would have been a polite thing to do. I have one cat who likes to roam the streets at night, when the traps are being put out…..by the way, he uses his own litter tray in my house.

2/ I do recognise there is a problem with the feral cats in the village something needs to be done. However I know as a fact that the town hall has had the offer of help with a capture and sterilization programme with the help of a local charity, as seen working in Competa and Sayalonga. So why not take up that offer? I have adopted two other cats from the bins, I was informed yesterday that at least three cats have appeared this week, so are people dumping these cats?

3/ Anyone visiting the village would not witness the numerous small dogs left to roam leaving deposits in the street and on the pavements. I have never seen a feral cat squatting down on a path or in the streets.

4/ I visited the town hall yesterday to be told the cats captured will be taken to Rincon de la Victoria and working with a local charity there they will be neutered, inoculated and re-homed. Good luck to them if that’s what is happening rather them than me trying to tame a feral cat.

Finally as a plea to our new Mayor please start communicating with your residents and understand us being kept in the dark is not a positive political move.

Firstly thank you to the original subscriber who brought the action of Archez town hall to everyone’s attention. Without this information no one would have been any the wiser to the action of the mayoress.
I feel it would have been in the interest of everyone concerned that notifications should have been given prior to the actions being taken. When voted in the voters were informed that there would be greater co-operation between all parties.
The subscriber on Wednesday is totally misinformed regarding the cat situation and I would treat his/her remarks with the contempt they deserve.
Several cats in Archez have been neutered/ sterilised in a programme set up by a lady in the village and CAS with the blessing of the previous mayor.
I personally spoke with a Councillor in Archez and asked him to liaise with the mayor with a view to setting up a new neutering /sterilising programme. I offered to make a substantial donation to start the project. I did not receive any reply. The town hall obviously opted for a cheaper method of dealing with the situation.
Last evening I spoke to a very concerned English lady who has 3 cats all ex feral and neutered/ sterilised. A cage had been placed outside her home. The lady spoke to a Councillor who informed her that the cats were being caught and placed in cages within the almacen below the old town hall. Anyone concerned that their cats may have been caught in the traps can go to the almacen at 11am on Friday morning to view the cats and retrieve there own. The Councillor stated that the cats were being trapped and taken to Rincon where they will be neutered/sterilised and then re homed. Is that why they are capturing all cats whether privately owned, neutered/ sterilised.
Archez village is generally well kept .I visit the village daily and I have not come across any of the problems apparently experienced by the 2nd subscriber. The mess on the footpaths /roadway is usually caused by dogs and their inconsiderate owners.

IBI discount liable for tax?

Since the second year of living in this house we have had a discount on our IBI (5 years). To get it we applied at the local town hall office, and we had to be on the padron. It is automatically renewed each year. Our IBI is high so it is worth having.

This year our Gestor tells us we must pay income tax on the discount amount for 2015. When she applied to the Hacienda for the details they had on our tax liability, it was shown there as a gain, I’ve seen the form. She says it is causing a lot of people trouble.

Anyone else in this situation? Is this a new tax rule sneaked in with the ‘changes’ this year?

Addendum received – I have further investigated this and have been told the discount on IBI for being on the padron was always taxable. In 2015, for the first time, the town halls have reported it to the Hacienda. So you need to declare as they already know about it.

Rental Company –

I would be interested to know if there are other Digamextra subscribers who use Owners Direct to advertise their holiday rental properties. Since Experian bought the company about 1 year ago things have changed, many not for the better. The latest scheme to extract more revenue, starting 1st June, is to charge the traveller 7.98% average of their total rental costs on the pretext of more protection against fraud, double booking etc. This is available from travel insurance companies along with the flight cancellation etc, at a much lower cost. I suspect that many will be put off from booking on this website, as this could easily add another £80.00 to a 2 week booking at £500 per week. The other point is that we entered into a contract with Owners Direct, which did not include this additional charge to the traveller. Is this a contravention of our contracts by Owners Direct, imposing new charges before the current 1 year contracts have expired?

Do you remember the Indian restaurant(Shalimar) in Torrox Pueblo, well it’s not there anymore, but has been replaced by a lovely pizza bar, selling homemade pizzas. It has reverted back to the old Spanish bar name “Bar El Capao”.

They are open from about 8.30am for breakfast, they have a lovely choice of tapas, homemade cake with coffee.

Yet another recommendation for Steve of Axarquia oven cleaning, he came to my house yesterday and I now have an oven that looks like it has just arrived from a shop.

It seems an extravagance but since I have had bad hip problems cleaning the oven is a job I dread and it was so nice to have it done properly as I could never get it this clean.

Cats in Archez

Having just read the anonymous and venomous article about the Mayoress of Archez trapping cats with a view to killing them I feel that a riposte is required.

I have no particular attachment to Mari Carmen Moreno Cordoba, the Mayoress nor to disease and cancer ridden feral cats or other animals.

I do, however, dislike being surrounded and clawed at by the (lets be polite and call them ) feral cats every time I visit Archez.

I dislike having to wend my way carefully between their deposits on the roads and paths. I dislike having cats visit my property and dig up plants that I have bought and they destroy.

I dislike having to clear their droppings from my patio. I think you will get the picture.

I have no wish to harm the feral animals, but, and here’s the but… there are too many! Something must be done to control the numbers. If all the animal lovers out there are willing to feed them, and yes they are fed by many which encourages the growth in their population, then instead why don’t they catch them, give them a home, get them to the vets, get them neutered, sterilised etc and begin to solve the problem.

Why write a vindictive attack on a Mayoress, who did not make this decision in isolation (implied by the anonymous writer 23/5/16).

The Mayoress is simply doing what needs to be done as the problem is now endemic. So, let’s have a challenge if you don’t want the current action to be repeated until the problem is solved – instead of writing malicious dirges and feeding the feral population – do something positive to solve the problem and get them off the streets.

I look forward to the diatribes that will now no doubt be directed back to me.

Wall-to-wall paintings and sculptures left no room for further creations and we found the artist almost numb with frustration and hidden behind a pile of canvases unable to be displayed.
Under our Prime Directive we were compelled to help him – to bring space to his walls and open, once more, the portals of creativity for the sake of future generations.

Hi everybody I just want to let you know about the last action from Mari Carmen Moreno Cordoba, Mayoress from Archez. Yesterday, a van arrived to the village with lots of traps for cats. They are put in different parts of the village with the only aim of catching them for killing them after!!!

Many Items to be sold in aid of Charity

I have many household items ranging from a home cinema, DVD players, video players, computer flat screen and 1 laser printer and several other printers. Bags of DVDs and CDs, kitchen items like coffee makers, glasses, large circular CD holder, framed prints and lots of LPs – the list is endless.

I would like them to go to a charity if at all possible but if they are taken by a private seller I would like a donation to my own charity CAT. The only stipulation is that everything must go together. I am not going to sell or give away anything separately.

I am having to do this because I tried one of people who advertise that they will buy all unwanted goods at good prices. I wanted to make some money for my charity and was offered the princely sum of 20 euros for the lot. I was absolutely appalled. There are more than 40 DVDs which I was selling on my charity stall recently for 1 euro each.

In response to the enquirer on Sunday, it all depends where you are first and foremost. Can’t look at prices until you know you can get a signal. Unless you have a phone connection you will have to rely on an aerial system. Maybe ask neighbours as wireless broadband can by its very nature be patchy. But these days if you get a good signal and supplier you should find the system works ok. Many now offer up to 10mbps and some will give more at extra cost. David A,

Tuesday 7^th June – Coach excursion to Mijas & Torremolinos “Botanical Gardens Molina de Inca”. Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar invite you to join friends and visit Mijas Pueblo. A historical and artistic complex situated in the Sierra de Mijas. The Old Town is a typical white Muslim village, with narrow streets and parts of the old walls are still standing offering great panoramic views of the Costa del Sol from the beautiful gardens and cliff walk.

There is a village square and maybe during your free time you can visit the Shrine of Virgen de la Peña, the Church of Imaculate Conception, Bullring, the Shrine of the Calvario and stroll through the narrow streets with its many shops. We suggest that you research the various sites to visit, for opening times and entrance prices, before you go on the trip either via the internet or by contacting the Tourist Office before or during your visit to make the best use of your free time. There will be time for you to enjoy lunch in its varied restaurants after which you will rejoin the coach to the town of Torremolinos.

Here, you will visit the Botanical Gardens of Molina de Inca, which in 1700 was given a licence for Joseph de Inca Sotomayor by the Corporation of Malaga to build two flour mills on land that had a natural spring and these mills after extensive, careful restoration are still working to-day. You are able to see photos, working models and an explanation of how this work was carried out.

Leaving the mill you will find yourself in the gardens which are a joy; there are palm trees from all over the world and a good selection of tropical fruit trees, woodland trees and flowering shrubs. Carefully maintained paths transport you from one vista to another. The four seasons are represented by classical sculptures positioned to symbolise the circular movement of Time and the celebration of various seasonal rites. Around another bend two stone lions remind us of the value of the water they guard and the Japanese garden is a delight. You will then re- join the coach at approximately 17.45 for the return journey to Torre del Mar. Ticket Price 15 Euros available at the Centre. All proceeds to fund raising. Departure times Viñuela (Football Pitch) 8.30am, Algarrobo (Lidl)8.55am, Caleta (Vets) 9.05am and Torre Del Mar (Bus Station) 9.10am. Depart Torremolinos 17.45.

-The free upgrade offer ends 29 July 16. No extension of the offer is expected.
-BEWARE! Microsoft has moved the Win 10 Upgrade to “Important Update” status, so it will be automatically installed on all PCs set to allow Automatic Updates, EVEN IF YOUR PC IS NOT CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING WIN 10!!! Plus MS keeps changing the number of the Win 10 Upgrade update so avoiding it by manually unselecting it from the updates list is impossible. Some Win 7/8 users who have not turned off Automatic Updates report finding that Win 10 in Spanish has been installed on their English PC without warning. Win 7 users may consider turning off Auto Updates at this point, as recommended by many support advice sites. Just do Java and Flash and web browser plug-in updates manually once a month and keep your antivirus program updated and do weekly full scans. Most new Win 7 updates are unnecessary for average users using major Western languages. Any possible benefit from new Win 7 Updates is, in my opinion, outweighed by an unwanted Win 10 Upgrade at this point. I will announce any new important Win 7 Updates on DigameXtra should they be necessary. Info on blocking the Win 10 Upgrade while leaving Auto-Updates on is below for those who wish to continue using that function.
-All Win 7/8 PC owners should by now have checked if their unit is Win 10 capable or not. You must check your PC’s manufacturer’s website to see if your exact model is on their list of Win 10 supported units, or if they provide no such list, check to see if they provide Win 10 drivers for your unit. The Microsoft Win 10 Compatibility Checker is unreliable! If there are no Win 10 drivers available from the manufacturer you should not do the upgrade.
-BEWARE! On PCs that were originally Win 7 or 8, even if your unit is on the manufacturer’s Upgradable List, or if Win 10 drivers are provided, that is no guaranty of future Win 10 compatibility. Some Win 7 or 8 PCs that were listed as upgradable initially have already been rendered unusable by recent updates to Win 10. So keeping a weekly “disk image” backup is very important on these units, allowing you to go back to the old system should the Win 10 Upgrade sneak in. Almost all PCs that were originally Win 8.1 are upgradable.
-You can continue to do Automatic Updates and still block Windows Update from installing the Win 10 upgrade on PCs by using the GWX Control Panel program. This page explains how to use it and offers a safe download link.

We have been with them for 17 years, during which time we have had many health problems, including 2 which required major surgery and after care. They never quibbled. They use the best clinics and hospitals together with highly qualified specialists. They do not load the policy after you reach a certain age either, nor following a major claim. We are confident in their care and even though we are entitled to use the Social health Care, we never have.

A local man is planning to make a big splash for charity. Martin Robinson from Canillas de Albaida is undertaking a marathon swim to raise money for cancer charity Cudeca.

On Saturday, June 4th he will attempt to swim over 200 lengths of Competa pool.

Last year Martin was diagnosed with bowel cancer and after a major operation and gruelling chemotherapy he wants to raise money for the charity.

“Cudeca has helped support me in so ways” he said. “The swim is just a small personal way to thank everyone who has helped me.” “I’ve always been so fit, active and healthy. Therefore it was a huge shock to discover I had cancer,” he explained.

“Volunteers and health professionals from Cudeca were always on hand to offer help and advice.”

Everyone is invited to cheer Martin on and sponsor him by signing the forms that will be circulated by a team of helpers. Come along to Competa Pool on Saturday, 4th June from 10.00am onwards. Alternatively please place your sponsorship money in one of the official Cudeca collection tins at the event.

Ronda in Andalucia, Spain is a popular city amongst travellers due to its romantic location in the mountains. The history of Ronda has seen many rulers settle and build upon the town, which is perched on top of a mighty cliff. Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs and Catholic monarchs all left their mark. Wars and subsequent rebellions such as the Napoleonic invasion and the Spanish civil war inspired many stories, including Hemingway’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls”. The romantic character of both the location and history of Ronda has accumulated in a yearly event known as Ronda Romantíca. Although it wasn’t set up until recently, every year more people flood to the city to witness this enchanting dive into the past. As locals dress up as their favourite characters from history, the streets come alive with markets, parades, music, dances and stories from the romantic times of Ronda – the late 18^th and the 19^th century.

Another important part of Ronda Romantíca is the historical fair, where the importance of livestock for the area throughout the ages becomes obvious. Cattle and horses were a great source of wealth, and the stately traditional fairs where these could be traded exempted from tax were a tell-tale sign of city’s importance. It’s no wonder then that one of Spain’s oldest bull rings is found in Ronda.

Kitten Emergency

Please can you help? Axarquia Animal Rescue are desperate for people to foster (or adopt) kittens.
Fostering kittens is just as much fun as fostering puppies.
It is a joy to see them play and run around, they can be so funny.
It is heartwarming when they come to you for a cuddle or sleep huddled next to you.
It is so exciting to see them grow up!
Ok, so what’s the benefit of fostering kittens?
You don’t have to clean up after them
You don’t have to educate them
You can leave them alone
You can sleep as long as you like once they eat solid food
And adult cats have so much to give too…cuddling them is fantastic, cats have amazingly soft fur compared to dogs, they are clean and they PURR which is very relaxing
Not sure you’re a cat person? Try it! If you don’t enjoy it (which is very unlikely), at least you will have saved a life.
You have dogs? No problem, just keep the kittens in a separate room, just make it a playground and they are happy.
No experience? Doesn’t matter, cats are so easy to keep.

More about suspicious person roaming the Campo at night!

On the 2 May, a person was walking onto a property off Cuesta Benamayor, known locally “Park Lane” .Wednesday he reappeared on the same property and ran off when seen. He didn’t scare off by two dogs (one really big) or that lights were on.

On Saturday night he was seen again a few houses down the street with the owner being home and a dog and lights on around the house. He was disturbed at 01:45 in the morning, with the owners cars parked next to the front door down a long drive. He took two rucksacks out of a car leaving the car door open. These were found a bit up the road the next day.

Today when walking the dogs on Lomo de Tapia, I found a race bike saddle with pouch empty. Since these are quite expensive (the make is Selle Italia) I took it along and yesterday the saddle was retrieved by it’s owner ( thank god the grape vine works !).

The Local Police and the Guardia have been made aware of all of these incidents in and around the Campo including Cruz de Zarja. The person that has been seen, seemed to have the same build and clothing (Black hoodie)

So to all Digamites in Competa, keep your eyes open and be aware that there is someone around.

I’m sure that with all the eyes that Digame has watching he won’t be around for long…

This job will require you to drive to Malaga airport and bring my guests to La Herradura. On route, you will stop off at the Supermarket in Nerja and help secure basic groceries for the new arrivals. I expect to grow to 1-4 guests per month. Obviously this is very part time. A return trip to the airport may very well be necessary for these guests.

Villa Ambassador – I’m looking for a creative person who has a gift for marketing. Perhaps you’re retired from a prior marketing/advertising career and have some ideas about marketing a vacation rental. We’ll brainstorm together some strategies and see what works best.

Problem Solver – As you can imagine, issues will always come up with a vacation rental. I’m looking for a take charge person who can deal with problems that arise with home ownership. This person must be detail oriented and enjoy dealing with whatever issues arise. Maybe the internet is out or the washing machine doesn’t work. An ability to fix minor home repairs would be a bonus.

Recommendation –C and A Euro Van Service

I would like to get the word out regarding a most positive experience we had with C and A Euro Van Service.

My brother and I recently had to move my Mother back to England from Spain after the unexpected passing of my Father. (He lives in England, and I live in Canada) We had been referred a “friend of a friend” to take care of the moving but this unfortunately fell through due to limitations of where the person would deliver to once in England. We were, however, referred to the above mentioned company run by owners Cathy and Alan.

From our first phone conversation we were put totally at ease. Knowing the situation was difficult, Cathy wanted to make sure Mum was comfortable with their service and to “meet” them ahead of time. So we set up an appointment to FaceTime with them, this way she could see them in person and not be dealing with strangers.

Communication was thorough from the time we booked until the time they arrived to pick up Mums belongings. They had even offered to come and help her pack, though that was not necessary.

Delivery of the boxes in England was swift and efficient, and even arrived a day earlier than originally anticipated (approved by us before hand)

After dealing with all the complications of banking, wills etc. it was such a breath of fresh air to deal with someone who literally took a load off our minds.

I would highly recommend C and A Eurovan Service to anyone planning to move between England & Spain (or anywhere else the company serves!)

The Phoenix Club are off to Casariche on Sunday 12th June to experience a traditional inland Sunday market. This is a very large market selling leather goods at very competitive prices, much cheaper than on the coast. Many other artisan products also available.
