Wanted, Interpreter: I am in need of an interpreter to accompany me to the hospital in Velez on Monday 24th September when I am having a cataract operation at this point I am not certain of the time. I may not even need one but I cannot rely on the interpreters in the hospital as they are so busy and so not always available immediately and the surgeon will not hold up his operations to wait for one.
I would appreciate a fixed rate rather than an hourly one as I have no idea how long I will be there.
I am in Torrox Campo but can meet at the hospital obviously I will not be driving myself. Please reply giving costs involved.

What’s coming in the next big Windows 10 Update v1809 in Oct?
There are some significant, overdue changes such as an updated Clipboard with new Clip & Paste functions, and fairly silly updates like support for 157 new emojis. And of course they have reshuffled the Settings. What I found especially disturbing is the addition of these 2 terms in Settings: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Here is an example of AI at work. We already have predictive spelling, type 2 or 3 letters and the word pops up before you can finish typing. Now your comp will guess the next word before you finish typing the current word. I certainly don’t need Google to put their spin on what my next word should be. And I don’t need Machine Learning (since it surely knows better than me) altering settings I specifically set in a certain fashion.

Salud 101 Update, Clinica Rincon has changed hands: We are members of Clinica Rincon’s very useful Salud101 scheme which gives discounts on private medical treatment. One of its advantages is it does not refuse pre-existing conditions. We just found out that Clinica Rincon has changed hands and the scheme is now closed to new members. I have tried to get more information but the receptionists I talked to didn’t seem to know much. They think that existing memberships will continue and can be renewed, at least for now. Does anyone have more information, or can anyone recommend a similar scheme suitable for ‘topping up’ health service cover?

Live Big Band experience at Silks: A massively exciting weekend lined up for this weekend at Silks! Of course all of your football & sporting action throughout the weekend as always the best viewing in Torrox.

Chine’s Bar: Games Afternoon – Fridays
With September we start our 4th year as a group and I look forward to seeing you all this Friday at Puerto Blanco Chine’s Bar Cafe Caleta de Velez from 11.30 am as usual.
