VI Ascent to Los Castillejos: This event will take place on Sunday, September 18 from 10am. Starting from “Enrique Lopez Cuenca” Athletics Stadium, a total of 43 kilometres will be covered.
The route goes to Park Verano Azul, then towards Punta Lara, turning at the roundabout and then heading to Maro. Next is the junction that leads to the Castillejos, and the mountain pass of Los Castillejos.

CPI stuck at 10.5% in August amid unprecedented rise in food prices: {Translation, summary}

Malaga City Crackdown on “Noise”, rogue businesses and other “antisocial” activities- 56 businesses sanctioned, Three flutes, a guitar, an accordion and a loudspeaker, among the noisy devices confiscated in the last week in Malaga:
– The Malaga Local Police have processed a total of 160 complaints, of which 56 have been to establishments and 104 to individuals, for breaches of the noise prevention and control ordinance, as well as those related to municipal measures that “guarantee citizen coexistence and the protection of public space in the city.”
– The actions have been carried out throughout the week from Monday 5 to Monday 12 September, in the areas of the Historic Centre and Teatinos.
– With regard to the extraordinary police operation against intrusion in the public transport service, control of VTC and taxis, a total of 40 interventions have been carried out, resulting in five VTC reported and one pirate taxi.
– With regard to the control of compliance with the provisions of the Ordinance against Noise Pollution, Vibrations and other forms of Energy, a total of 57 people were reported. Specifically, for carrying out leisure activities likely to cause noise nuisance which should be carried out with doors and windows closed (10); operating radios, musical instruments or equipment, independent loudspeakers on the public highway and other public areas in breach of authorised areas or timetables (9); as well as singing or shouting on the public highway and in public areas (15). The latter occurred in Cárcer Street in the Historic Centre (12) and in Plaza del Siglo (2); and in Teatinos in Avenida Plutarco (1).
– In addition, six seizures have been made in which noise-emitting devices and musical instruments have been seized: three flutes, a guitar, an accordion and a violin, together with a loudspeaker and amplifier.
– The 41 complaints for urinating on public streets were made in the following streets: Granada (8); Pito (6); Mosquera (2); Aventurero (5); Beatas (2); Capitán (8); San Telmo (2); Sánchez Pastor (3); Tomás de Cózar (1); and in the squares of Cofradías (2); Jesús de la Pasión (1) and Uncibay (1).
– With regard to actions on public establishments, 56 of them have been sanctioned for different reasons relating to both ordinances. Of the complaints filed, 20 were for occupying a larger surface area than that authorised; 2 for non-compliance with the timetable for the removal of terraces in the ZAS zone; 3 for allowing music to be played outside through doors or windows, 7 for not having a music permit; 2 for not complying with the activity authorised in the opening licence, among others. On the other hand, there have been 28 follow-ups of decrees in establishments and 2 notifications of closure decrees.

Armenia denounces the death of about 50 soldiers in clashes with Azerbaijan:
– Both countries were part of the Soviet Union before its dissolution at the end of 1991. The dispute led to full-scale war in the 1980s and 1990s, a six-week war in 2020 and continuing clashes for decades.
– The two countries blame each other for the latest outbreak of violence. Armenia claimed that several towns along the border had been shelled by its neighbour and that it had responded to the provocation. Fakebook Warning:
– FB is being flooded with posts from supposed “media promotions” companies advertising events & services. These posts are not from the event organizers or service providers themselves. In some cases these self-appointed promoters are not even in contact with the real organizers/providers! These posts may contain inaccurate info. I am told by people who have been victimized in this way, these marketers make these posts for businesses or events without asking permission, and then later contact the biz to solicit fees for future promotions, “…just look at the nice post we made for you for free and all the (phony) likes it has, now give us money to make more…” (This is related to a problem discussed in the following article.)
– If you see anything in FB that interests you, find the home website for the event/service, not their FB page, and confirm any info before relying on it for travel plans. Never believe anything on Fakebook that does not provide a link to the source of the info or a real form of contact where you can confirm details. -Ed.

Facebook Creates Pages for Businesses Whether They Like It or Not (And they won’t take them down unless you send them a bunch of documents):
(This has been going on for about 5 years now, and has recently seen a huge uptick in activity after a 2 year period where this activity was less active. So here is a refresher. Big tech heavily censors this topic, but this well written article is still online. -Ed.)
– Imagine watching the news and seeing a story spotlighting your business. Initially, you’re excited, but after watching for a few seconds, you realize that all the critical information, from your street address to the services you offer, is wrong. The ad keeps running, and when you ask the station to stop airing it, you’re told you have no right to even make that request. It sounds like an absurd situation, but something very similar has become common practice on Facebook.
– Facebook auto-generates pages for businesses and organizations that don’t have an official presence on its platform. This happens without the knowledge or permission of the business or organization owner. This might sound useful, but a lot could go wrong. If FB has not already created one of these phantom pages for a business, any Facebook user can make Facebook auto-generate a page for a business or an organization, and they can purposefully enter critical information, like street address or services offered, incorrectly. This is all public and even appears when someone looks up a business on Google. The owner or manager of these entities has no control over the information Facebook displays on these auto-generated pages, despite the social media outlet’s frequent claims about its commitment to giving the user control over their data. If you want to gain control of the auto-generated page, Facebook puts you through an invasive and unwarranted verification process involving sending Facebook personal documents, such as a utility bill from the place of business, local business license, tax certificate, certificate of formation (for a partnership), and articles of incorporation (for a corporation).
– Take the case of Elena Olivo, a New York City-based photographer who does not have a Facebook account. Facebook refuses to take down a page auto-generated for her business. In addition to giving her no control over how her business is represented, the page is actually doing the opposite of what a social media presence is supposed to do for a business. Olivo told me, “I noticed in the lower-left corner of my unofficial page other photographers and businesses were being promoted, including those based near my New York City business. This is potentially driving traffic to my competitors. How can that be fair?”
– Unofficial pages for a business and organization contain information such as the name of the business, address, phone number, and hours of operation, some of which may be old or incorrect. They can also feature reviews and comments about the business posted by other Facebook users. All of this is public, and unlike managed pages, there’s no way to adjust the privacy settings to decide who is able to view the page. Since unofficial pages are not linked to personal profiles, they have no administrators. Except for Facebook, nobody can take down any content that is posted on these pages, and Facebook does not have the best track record when it comes to policing the content posted on its platform.
(If you are a biz, and don’t use Fakebook, I suggest you do a Google Search for the name of your biz. Look at the results from FB or any other social media you don’t use, and see if you have pages posted you didn’t create. -Ed.)

National Police warns of Interpol impersonation scam: {Translation}
– The Jefatura Superior de La Rioja reports a new type of scam. The scam begins when you receive an email in your inbox from Interpol.
The scammers use various email threat templates, similar to the following:
– Threat 1; “Your name appears in our database of hacked systems. Please contact us so that we can verify if you have been a victim of an attack”. The message does not contain an explicit request for money, but hints at a concern for the recipient’s well-being. This is probably the first step: later, when the user replies, they will be asked for money.
In no case does Interpol contact persons registered in its databases. Moreover, there is no database of names of persons whose systems have been hacked.
– Threat 2. “As soon as you transfer the funds to us, INTERPOL will issue a letter of authorisation to unblock your account.”
In no case does INTERPOL issue any kind of letter of authorisation to unblock funds.
– Threat 3. “INTERPOL has verified the authenticity of this transaction and you must pay the fee. If you are late, you will be arrested”.
Interpol never intervenes in financial transactions or in the arrest of persons, as these functions are carried out by the State Security Forces.
– Threat 4: “You have been the victim of a scam. We are INTERPOL and we can help you get your money back”.
These are probably the same people who scammed you the first time and are trying to scam you a second time.
– Threat 5: “Your photograph appears on INTERPOL’s wanted persons website. Please confirm your contact details”.
The only genuine list of Interpol notices is the one published on the official Interpol website.
– All other sites are bogus and have been created for the sole purpose of intimidating you in order to force you to pay if you want them to remove your information.
– In all cases, it should be noted that Interpol never contacts a citizen directly, nor does it ask for money, bank details or a wire transfer.
These fraudsters use the Interpol identity for fraudulent purposes to give the impression of seriousness and legitimacy, in order to trick the recipient into sending them money.
– Some may even create fake messages using the name and photograph of INTERPOL Secretary General Jürgen Stock, for example, falsely claiming that the recipient is the subject of a Red Notice, in order to intimidate the recipient into paying a certain amount.

A controlled forest fire declared in Canillas de Albaida: {Translation}

– The Andalusian Forest Fire Fighting Service (Plan Infoca) continues to work to stabilise the forest fire declared last Thursday in an area of Guájar Alto, in the municipality of Los Guájares, which has already reached 3,000 hectares and some 37 kilometres of perimeter. A total of 200 ground troops are currently deployed, as well as 18 aerial resources.
– Infoca has explained through a publication on its Twitter account that four heavy helicopters, five light helicopters and one control and command helicopter are working in the air to stabilise the fire.

King Charles proclaimed monarch, queen’s funeral on Sept. 19:
– The state funeral for Queen Elizabeth will be held on Monday, Sept. 19, royal officials said on Saturday.
– Elizabeth’s oak coffin, covered with the royal standard of Scotland and with a wreath of flowers on top, has been lying in the ballroom of Balmoral Castle, her summer home in Scotland where she died peacefully on Thursday.

– Britain has declared a period of mourning until the state funeral for Elizabeth, which will be a public holiday. Leaders from around the world are expected to attend, including U.S. President Joe Biden, who said he would be there.

Facebook Engineers- “We Have No Idea Where We Keep All Your Personal Data Or Who Has Access To It”:
– In March, two veteran Facebook engineers found themselves grilled about the company’s sprawling data collection operations in a hearing for the ongoing lawsuit over the mishandling of private user information stemming from the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
– The hearing, a transcript of which was recently unsealed, was aimed at resolving one crucial issue: What information, precisely, does Facebook store about us, and where is it? The engineers’ response will come as little relief to those concerned with the company’s stewardship of billions of digitized lives: They don’t know. “I don’t believe there’s a single person that exists who could answer that question,” replied Eugene Zarashaw, a Facebook engineering director. “It would take a significant team effort to answer that question.”
– In the March 2022 hearing, Zarashaw and Steven Elia, a software engineering manager, described Facebook as a data-processing apparatus so complex that it defies understanding from within. The hearing amounted to two high-ranking engineers at one of the most powerful and resource-flush engineering outfits in history describing their product as an unknowable machine.
– The special master at times seemed in disbelief, as when he questioned the engineers over whether any documentation existed for a particular Facebook subsystem. “Someone must have a diagram that says this is where this data is stored,” he said, according to the transcript. Zarashaw responded: “We have a somewhat strange engineering culture compared to most where we don’t generate a lot of artifacts during the engineering process. DoctorLaptop Alert- Update Your Routers: Several large local internet providers sent out router updates this past week. In order for the updates to install, you need to turn off your router, and if it is a 2 unit fiber router setup, then you turn off both. Wait a full minute, then turn them back on. It will take a few minutes for the update to install and the connection to reconnect. If you think your internet has slowed recently, this may help. It is common that a router update waiting to be installed slows router performance. Doing this process periodically is a good habit to get into. Router updates are usually released late evening on the first or last Sunday of the month. This weekend my normally fast 1000MB/s fiber internet connection seemed slow, so I tested it and only had 90MB/s! I restarted the router as explained, and then it tested at 980MB/s. Problem solved.

Windows 12 Could Arrive in 2024, New Versions To Be Released Every 3 Years + New Win 11 Updates Soon:
– Two new releases of Windows 11 may end up right on top of one another, according to tweets from a noted Microsoft leaker known for accuracy. Microsoft is currently scheduling Windows 11 22H2 for September 20, according to Windows Central. But the first “Moment” (new term for incremental Windows system upgrades between new version releases) of Windows 11 22H2 could drop soon thereafter, in October. “Moments” were part of an adjustment to Microsoft’s roadmap that will see major feature releases scheduled for every three years, implying that Windows 12 will be due in 2024. The latest WhatsApp scam police are warning about: {Translation}
– Spain recorded more than 305,000 computer crimes last year in 2021. The theft of personal data on the Internet is skyrocketing, with one victim every two minutes, and the way cybercriminals act is diversifying, with WhatsApp as one of the favourite channels to try to get hold of any personal or financial data that opens the door to defraud or coerce users.
– Fake updates, malware distribution, account hijacking, false commercial promises from different brands. There are many forms of WhatsApp scams. The latest is related to identity theft, which has already caused quite a few people serious problems and threatens our family finances.
– National Police has detected “a type of scam via WhatsApp” in which “fraudsters contact women and deceive them by pretending to be their children to ask them, urgently, for money in order to deal with an immediate problem”.

– The screenshots shown by the authorities show the modus operandi of the scam. The victim receives a message from a phone number not have in his address book. Mijas Pueblo is gearing up for its annual summer fair:
– It will take place from Tuesday 6 until Sunday 11 September.
– The Jardines de Muro will host a series of concerts at 5.30pm each afternoon, which will bring the day time activities to a close.
– The fun begins on Tuesday, ‘children’s day’, when the price of the majority of the fairground attractions is reduced to two euros. The colourful parade of giants and big heads will leave the town hall building at 6.30pm, while the official inauguration of the feria and the illumination of the lights will commence at 10pm.
– The highlight of the festivities takes place on Thursday, when the town shuts down to mark the patron’s feast day.

Russia announces indefinite suspension of EU gas deliveries- Russia blames the EU for the cessation of shipments of gas through the gas pipeline Nord Stream 1: {Translation}
