Submissions for posting in sections below
must include this info or they will be returned !!!
Sender's First Name / Nearest Town
Note: You may additionally include a location to meet or pickup,
but your location is required in any case. If selling an item from a location different from where you reside, you must include both.
For example: "...Buyer collects in Nerja, John/Malaga"
Why? DigameXtra covers a large area. So, for example, readers in Motril are unlikely to make recommendations, or call about most for-sale items, if they know you are located in Coin. As for including both locations in for-sale posts, the buyer needs to know where to collect the item, but they will also want to know where you are from in case there is a problem. Your cooperation is appreciated.

CPI stuck at 10.5% in August amid unprecedented rise in food prices: {Translation, summary}
– Buying a kilo of flour last August was almost 40% more expensive than it was just a year ago; a carton of milk is 26% more expensive today than it was then; bread has gone up by 25%; eggs cost 22% more; beef, fresh vegetables and cheese by around 15%; olive oil by 12%; and fresh fish by around 10%. Overall, the standard food basket defined by the National Statistics Institute (INE) to measure the evolution of prices has risen by 13.8% between August 2021 and August 2022.
– INE statistics acknowledge that we are facing the biggest rise in food prices since food prices began to be measured specifically in 1994.
– The situation has led the government to become embroiled in a noisy controversy over the possibility of setting caps on food prices to prevent the drift from aggravating the situation of vulnerability of many families.
– The CPI closed August at 10.5%, one tenth of a percentage point higher than at the end of August, but above the 10% threshold for the third consecutive month. Moreover, the underlying rate, which reveals the more stable core of prices, climbed to 6.4%, which analysts believe indicates that the process of price deceleration will be slower and more painful than initially expected.
– Another particularly worrying element is that inflation remained above 10% in August despite the 7% drop in the price of fuel and petrol, one of the items that has pushed the CPI up most in recent months.
– The government’s optimism regarding the evolution of inflation between now and the end of the year is not shared by analysts. Funcas, one of the country’s most prestigious research services, has just revised upwards its average inflation forecast for the year as a whole, which it now places at 9.1%, and predicts that in December the year-on-year rate will be 8.6%, which suggests that the slowdown expected by the government will be very slight. Autónomo Update- Andalusia will implement the ‘zero quota’ for two years for new self-employed from January onwards:
{Translation, summary} 13/09/2022 14:31
– Andalusia will implement from next January the so-called ‘zero quota’ for new self-employed, which may be extended for a year and which aims, according to the Junta, to provide aid to “compensate” the burden of expenditure that the changes in social security contributions will entail for this group that will come with the beginning of 2023.
– The Andalusian ‘zero quota’ will be applied to workers who take advantage of the state flat rate from 1 January 2023. They will have a ‘zero quota’ the first year “and the second year also for the self-employed who do not have income, net income, higher than the minimum interprofessional wage,” Blanco pointed out. “In other words, two years of ‘zero quota’ for the self-employed in Andalusia”, he summarised. A festival of ships in Malaga’s cruise week: {Translation}
– Forming part of the public events that will take place in conjunction with the cruise congress which will be held at the Malaga Trade Fairs and Congress Centre, a series of historic ships will visit Malaga’s waters.
– The ships Victoria and Santa María and the galleon Andalucía are expected to be docked on Wednesday. With the possibility of being visited that same day, the sailing ship Götheborg of Sweden will moor for the first time in the port of Malaga. Built in 2005, this vessel is a replica of a ship that between 1738 and 1745 sailed on a commercial route to China under the password of the Swedish East India Company.
– The Malaga docks will also receive four tourist ships; the main protagonists of the congress and the civic activities that will be held this week.
– Thursday the Marella Discovery 2 will dock as part of a seven-day itinerary starting and finishing in Palma de Mallorca.
– Completing these stays, on Friday, the Royal Caribbean ship Jewel of the Seas will visit the waters of the port of Malaga for the first time in a stopover that will last from 20:00 to 17:00. A week with a marked maritime character where Malaga will become the epicentre of the international cruise scene and in which the people of Malaga will be able to enjoy many activities related to the tourist travel by sea sector as well as seeing a significant number of ships in the port. On the other hand, there have been 28 follow-ups of decrees in establishments and 2 notifications of closure decrees.

Los Guájares forest fire stabilised: {Translation}
– The Regional Minister for the Environment announced the stabilisation of the Los Guájares forest fire at 20:30 on Tuesday. Since the fire broke out last Thursday in the area of Guájar Alto, Plan Infoca has been working intensely for six days.
– A total of 390 troops and 11 heavy vehicles are still deployed in the area to work on controlling the fire. “Now we have to secure the perimeter. We have to take into account the magnitude of the fire, there are 62 kilometres of perimeter that the professionals of the Plan have to check, meter by meter, to be able to speak of a controlled fire, and once all that perimeter is safe, proceed to the completion of this event, and put this behind us, which is what we all want,” said the Minister of Environment, Ramón Fernández Pacheco, in the Advanced Command Post of the fire of Los Guájares. Dow skids more than 1,000 points in afternoon trade after August inflation comes in hotter than expected:
– Stocks tumbled on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average trading down more than 1,000 points, after August inflation came in hotter than expected, underscoring the challenge the Federal Reserve faces in its fight to tame surging prices that have been slow to retreat from a 40-year high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -3.94% fell 1,016 points, or 3.1%, to trade near 31,369, while the S&P 500 index SPX, -4.32% was off 3.5% and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -5.16% was 4.3% lower. The Fed is largely expected to raise its benchmark rate next week by another 75 basis points, and to potentially greenlight a series of bigger rate increases later this fall and winter, which could further pressure stocks and other financial assets, particularly if tighter financial conditions end up tipping the U.S. economy into a recession. Armenia denounces the death of about 50 soldiers in clashes with Azerbaijan:
– Both countries were part of the Soviet Union before its dissolution at the end of 1991. The dispute led to full-scale war in the 1980s and 1990s, a six-week war in 2020 and continuing clashes for decades.
– The two countries blame each other for the latest outbreak of violence. Armenia claimed that several towns along the border had been shelled by its neighbour and that it had responded to the provocation. Azerbaijan said its infrastructure came under attack first, with military spokesman Lt Col Anar Eyvazov saying that military movements over the past month “demonstrate that Armenia is preparing for a large-scale military provocation”.
– Violence continued on Monday night before Moscow said it had negotiated a rapid ceasefire to take effect early on Tuesday morning.
Armenia’s Nikol Pashinyan, however, said “the intensity of hostilities has decreased, but attacks on one or two fronts from Azerbaijan continue”. Full article: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-62888891.amp
