Reader Comment: If You Want to Advertise – Please Follow the Simple Rules…….
Do you think you could ask your advertisers to include their location in their posts, and tell them unless they do you won’t publish it as there are items I am interested in but unless I know how far I have to travel what’s the point?
An email address is fine but by the time you get an answer the item has probably gone. Grumpy or what.
Kind regards
Ian W
Editor writes – I do so endorse this plea…every day I waste a lot of my time responding to emails to ask for the :- Who? What? Where? When-? & How ?
So come on folks – it’s a free service – meet us half way…… Jane

Flight from Düsseldorf Weeze Airport Germany to Malaga on the 14 December
My Husband often flies between Malaga to Weeze Airport in Germany.
On the 14th of December he has the flight at 3 pm to Malaga. Is there someone on the same flight that lives in the area around Duisburg, Bocholt or Wesel?
He needs a lift to the airport (he would of course put into the gas cost) and could meet at either one of the cities train station?
Looking forward to see if Digamextra can work it’s magic again??
Please send info to : Deassola @ gamail.com

Services Available – Wheelchairs
–In addition to e-mailing the poster of this thread, I think that other Digamites may be interested in the following information, since there have been a number of requests for wheelchairs in recent weeks.
A manual wheelchair can cost from 25 Euros a week to 50 Euros a week, depending upon where you go. All companies demand typically 100 Euros deposit.
For example:
www.bluebadgemobility.com/ will let you have a manual wheelchair for as little as 10 Euros a day, or 40 Euros a week. They also have electrically powered scooters (Madge-mobile), but this is also reflected in the rental price.
The best place we have found is a little shop in Nerja, opposite La Ermita hotel, go down the road beside the Yoigo shop, about 20 metres on your left.
The guy there is Dutch and will measure you to get you the correct size chair, and for only 25 Euros a week.
He also sells wheelchairs (200 Euros), crutches (17 Euros), etc.
http://www.mobility-scooter-rental.com/costa-del-sol-mobility-hire/mobility-hire-nerja want 35 Euros a week, and they also hire out electrically powered scooters.
If you need a wheelchair for a month or more then it is more cost effective to buy a second-hand wheelchair from the UK (or in my case Sweden) and you can usually pick up a bargain for under 80 Euros.
Most airline companies (except RyanAir) will ferry the chair free of charge.
Just ask for “Wheelchair assistance” when you book your flight.
You can also find many more local resources by Googling for “wheelchair nerja”.
Finally, if you only need the chair for those “extended shopping sprees” then most large stores will lend you a chair, free of charge. Ikea in Malaga do this.
All you need to do is to show your passport and fill in a form.
They are a bit “kinky” about people stealing the chairs, so if you need to take the chair outside to the car then ask for a security escort.
Very best regards from Harry (dot) Lythall (at) sm0vpo (dot) com

Recommendations Needed – For Hearing-Aid Supplier
My mother had hearing-aids fitted a few years ago in England before coming to live in Spain.
They now need to be replaced or possibly just reprogrammed.
I have seen an advert for Audiotec Hearing Centre in Velez-Malaga and know an optician in Nerja that offers to fit hearing-aids.
Can anybody had recommend either of these centres? Or can anybody recommend a good hearing-aid centre in this area where English is spoken?
Please email me janetpender @ yahoo.com or reply to Digame.
Any information gratefully received as we don’t really know who to approach for this!
Recommendation for Gluten Free Bread
I placed an ad on Digame recently for a supply of decent gluten free bread and a lady kindly offered to bake the bread for me, I now have a supply of really lovely fresh bread that freezes well and tastes so much better than anything I can buy here, it’s really delicious.
Anyone out there with the same gluten problems may want to contact her, she is happy to bake for people, I would definitely recommend her. She is in the Nerja region.

The Story Behind Hashing – Who Started It and Why?
History of Hashing
Those of you who’ve read our recent article on Digame or in the free English language publications will know that hashing is becoming a very popular form of exercise with the ex- pat community.
Axarquia Hash House Harriers (AHHH) is going from strength to strength with new members joining us all the time.
Hashing originated in 1938 in Malaya (now Malaysia) when a group of British colonial officers and expatriates began meeting on Monday evenings to run and rid themselves of the weekend’s excesses. The run was designed around the traditional British paper chase or “hare and hounds” format. Harriers reaching the end of the trail would partake of beer, ginger beer and cigarettes. Hashing died out after the Japanese invasion of Malaya but was resuscitated in the 60s in Singapore and spread through the Far East and the South Pacific, Europe and North America expanding during the mid-1970s. Today there are thousands of hashing clubs in all parts of the world.
The objectives of the Hash House Harriers were recorded in 1950 as follows:
1) To promote physical fitness among our members
2) To get rid of weekend hangovers
3) To acquire a good thirst and to satisfy it in beer
4) To persuade the older members that they are not as old as they feel AAH certainly agrees with objectives 1), 3), and 4)!
Why the name?
The restaurant used by the first harriers in Malaya was known locally as the “Hash House”. The name stuck and became adopted by harriers around the world.
Come and join us!
AAH welcomes all ages, abilities and nationalities. All you need is a good pair of trainers, a reasonable level of fitness and a sense of humour. Bottles of cold water are provided at the start to take with you on the ‘run’ and hares are happy to look after valuables for you so there’s no risk of dropping your car keys in a ditch! We make a charge of 4 Euros per run, which includes water, beer and soft drinks.
The hash is a great way to get out, take some exercise, socialise and see different parts of the beautiful Axarquia. So why not come along, take part and find out if hashing is for you?
For more information on AHHH and details of the next hash please go to www.ah3.es
