Dog Mess: Competa After just coming back from a 2 week stay at our place in Competa in the town by the crematorium, I would like to say what a mess the roads were- covered in animal mess, attracting flies being there for many days. I have a pushchair and a new born baby and could not bring the pushchair into the house due to the state the wheels were in – even though I tried my best to avoid. I would like to ask if anyone knows who you can complain to about getting the streets cleaned more often, as the street cleaners (who do a wonderful job, not knocking them) seem to just do the same streets around the plazas. Services Needed – looking for a Mediterranean garden expert   I am a Dutch man, and living in the campo of Torrox, between Torrox and Competa. We have the house now seven years and we have started the garden seven years ago as well. We have some basic understanding of gardening, but no experience in the South of Spain or Mediterranean . Since this year we live here permanently and we want to take it a bit more serious.   looking for an expert who is willing to give a practical (few?) training session on “ how to garden in the south of Spain”. Can be in Dutch or English.  For example, simple questions and topics like   how do you prune citrus trees and when? how do you deal with the sandy/ rocky ground and when do you fertilize and what,  Where do you get the fertilisation, what about watering, when, and how much? but also planting new plant and making compost in such dry circumstances etc.   So really practical things and knowledge to share, with the starting point of our own garden.  Of course we have internet and we can search and study, but we would also like to get some real life experience. Recommendation –  Good service received – Chimney Sweep   Last week we had a couple of chimneys swept by Diego. I first got his details from Digame several months back on recommendation and kept them safe. I would like to add that he is an excellent worker, very methodical and knowledgeable at what he does and left the place very clean too. Not only this but also, he speaks fluent English.
