Found Cat !

This stunning, friendly, castrated boy has been found in Nerja center ( c/Cristo – Almirante Ferrandiz- around no. 58) apparently looking for somewhere to stay since yesterday evening. Might be that he is strolling around since some days already although you don’t see it as he is in good condition. He has been checked for a chip but none was found. He was found with a collar with bell and an anti-flea collar so he probably has an owner. Does anyone recognise him or know who his owner is please? Rental Car Problem…..Solved Hurray to my wife Lesley . We were in the UK.Lincolnshire. We needed a car for 4 days and went on-line Car Rentals Kirmington Humberside Airport. Great Lesley only used the car 2 days, 150 miles at the most .She returned the car confronted by a scruffy lazy person at euro car where just signed her off ,no inspection of the car which was – I swear – as she picked it up. 4 weeks later the deposit of 204£ had not been refunded .The euro car claimed she had exceeded her mileage allowance by 1600 miles ???? When Lesley challenged them 5 times they finally sent a copy of the rental from Humberside Euro Car which declared she had travelled 160 miles. Rental cars have now apologised and refunded the 204 £ with 20 percent discount ! !!!. The moral of the story is stick to your rights .Well done Lesley .

New Women’s Group ? I have been wondering lately how many women there are in the Torrox /Nerja area who would like to get together to form new friendships. A bit like a book club without the books. An informal discussion of a topic we choose the week/month before – mothers and daughters/sons, trust, health, that sort of thing. The list is endless. Basically anything under the sun. A good gossip around a chosen topic. No decision yet on where or how often we meet. I suppose that depends on numbers. Let me know what you think. I think it’s something I’d enjoy. Lost Dog is not Lost I did try to send a text to Mette and Arne who put the photo of the dog in Digame yesterday but I’m not sure it went OK. This is the second time that this dog has been in Digame but he is not lost, He belongs to a Spanish neighbour and it has a tendency to roam the campo whilst it is out of its compound. He tries to lock it into his stable or greenhouse, but it escapes. If a dog is fed by someone else he will no doubt want to keep returning to them so we do not encourage or feed any loose dog we see as it probably does belong to someone. Barbara

We Have Found a Lost Dog ? We’ve found a lovely little dog, in our bed, who has managed to jump up, get through the wreckers of our bedroom, come in and settle in!! She has spent three of the past five nights with us and seems to be making a habit of it. She is small, has a longish snout, and is white with large, reddish-brown spots, ears and short tail. She has a black collar and two thin metal plates with numbers engraved on them. We cannot keep the dog, although she’s as friendly as can be, so we are hoping that someone is looking for her.Any suggestions by a shelter or somebody in the know would be welcome as we don’t know exactly know what to do if she keeps coming back. European pet protection and animal welfare law passed in Spain
A European directive on animal protection will finally enter Spanish law and come into force in February – 30 years after it was passed. Among other requisites, the new law will ban docking or removing tails, cutting ears and de-clawing unless they are for purely medical reasons, meaning these practices for aesthetic means, to stop cats ruining furniture or to make hunting hounds more aggressive by slicing their ears off will now be outlawed. Recommendation Needed for Internet Service My neighbour requires an internet service, they live in the campo but unfortunately there villa is in a dip with no line of sight to any of the local antennas. All of the local providers are not willing or can’t help. Can anybody recommend an individual or company that can set up an omni-directional antenna or similar so my neighbour can share my internet connection? Our provider is OK with this, they just don’t want to set it up. My neighbours are currently using a service with download restrictions which they do not want this also applies to satellite internet. In May 2017 The National Association Of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies rebranded its name and image after 50 years to more reflect the changes in the activities and scope of the Society and the Society’s Vision: “The belief that the Arts have the potential to enrich peoples’ lives is at the heart of everything we do. We want to be the most inclusive and influential Arts Society”. THE ARTS SOCIETY NERJA itself is approaching its 25 Anniversary and there will be a number of events and exhibitions to celebrate this over the next 18 months. In 1965 Patricia Fay founded an Antiques Group in the Chilterns and as the Group expanded rapidly she formed the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies in 1968. In the 1970s NADFAS became a Registered Charity and underwent a period of rapid expansion with the creation of many new Societies across the UK, and the launch of key initiatives such as Church Recording, Young Arts and Heritage Volunteering. For her inspiration and vision Patricia Fay (who had an untimely death at only 46 years old) received an OBE in 1975. U.K. Currency Deadlines Approaching Just a thought but much in the news in the UK is the withdrawal of the old round £1 coins this week and the fact that there are still over 120 million old fivers still out there somewhere you have until spring next year to get rid of your old £10 pound notes but the old £5 needs to go back to the bank of England for a refund. Just as an afterthought…. if you cant be bothered to do anything about the odd £20 you have kicking around in the bottom of a drawer, I feel sure the local animal charities will take them of your hands. regards Haydn UK Pound coins….
