Lost Dog  found

A small black Spaniel type dog has been found wandering in the campo in the Kil 12 area  of Torrox    The dog is female and has a red collar .  For more information please call Diana on 951834441

Observation re Pet Dogs  I speak as a Brit living out here for winters only with our small dog who travels everywhere with us.
To fellow Brits and other expats, please don’t leave your animals here in Spain when you leave the country for whatever reason.  It adds to the dreadful problem and burden  of homeless animals here and takes a home that would have been given to a Spanish dog or cat.   If there is no alternative than to part with your animal take your animals home. Re-home them there where they are at least in your own country and you have perhaps a bigger chance of getting the home they deserve. I am aware that the charities there are under great pressure too but wouldn’t turn you away. Some dogs featured here have even had passports, so no problem. Getting a  pet passport is no longer the hassle and expense it used to be.

Recommendation for Steven Rowle Animal Behaviour   From -Frank Wall Competa   Our GSD cross appeared to have aggressive tendencies to other dogs, particularly small dogs. Taking him out in the village became a rather stressful experience. Steve came to visit us and suggested a course of sessions. Pretty much straight away we noticed a difference in the dog’s behaviour. Steven discovered that the dog was not in fact aggressive but rather frightened. Our dog is now much calmer and manageable and a pleasure to take out. Part of the process involved teaching us how to react with our dog. What’s on Tourist Train in Velez Malaga by Cruz Roja (Red Cross).Please find attached details of the tourist train in Velez-Malaga for English speakers on Friday 20 October. There are still some places available so I hope that you may be interested in attending yourself or know other people who may like to attend.  This activity is being organised by the Red Cross for English-speakers with guides/commentary in English and all people over 50 are welcome but places are limited and need to be booked with me by email in advance.  The tour starts at 10:00 and lasts for3 hours until 13:00 and is FREE!  This is a really good opportunity to see the historic sites in Vélez-Málaga.The address/details are:-  https://www.google.es/maps/@36.775761,-4.0997167,19z      The train leaves from the bus stop outside Bar Antonia & Bar Cachele on Avenida Vivar Tellez.  The nearest landmarks on the same side are the Cuartel de la Guardia Civil (55 Avenida Vivar Tellez) and the Mercado Municipal and opposite is the Parque Jurado Lorca.  I do not know the area myself so I am not sure about parking.  If anyone struggles with mobility and you arrive early enough you should be able to drop people off in the bus stop who can then wait in one of the two bars that are adjacent while somebody else parks the car.  Please remember that it is essential for each person to bring a copy (not the original) of their ID Passport/NIE. Reference – Feeding Feral Cats in La Rabita    I hope the person requesting help to feed her feral cats in the Rabita was not referring to the cats that hang around the bins by the main entrance to the Rabita.  I appreciate there are many views on this but apart from being against Town hall by-laws to feed them,  the cats have multiplied since being “fostered”over the years and now are a menace to the those living nearby including ourselves.  Neuter/ Spay and feed them yes, but just feeding them because you feel sorry for them only makes a bigger problem for the future generations of cats and campo residents. What’s on – MultiCultural Night of Music on Sunday

from 7.30pm Sunday October 8, La Plaza, Canillas de Albaida   Admission FREE       As part of its Cultural week, the Ayuntamiento of Canillas de Albaida proudly presents the Sixth Multi-cultural Night of Music to be held in the Plaza (main square) in Canillas de Albaida on Sunday 8th October. Admission to the event is free but there will be opportunities to donate to Action for Animals local charity.   The first artists to perform will be local band Jukebox Bandits, with its new and full lineup comprising of Rod Jones on keyboards, Ian Hayton on bass, acoustic guitar & vocals, Marshall Dixon on drums, Ken Peacock on flute and saxophone & Mitch France on acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, banjo & vocals.Jukebox Bandits will then be joined by Simon Allum from British band Tuppeny Blue who will play a selection of his own very unique songs. British recording artist David Neil will then perform with his band (Simon Williams on bass and Marshall Dixon on drums) and play a mix of standards and some of his own songs. Next up will be Andalusian Ceili Bandits, led by French piper Jerome Hippolyte who will play a selection of Irish and Galician music on a variety of acoustic instruments. They consist of Jerome on bagpipes and whistles, Sorrel from the UK on accordion and vocals, John from Ireland on fiddle and guitar and Meigan, who is from Wales and is the singer.  Spanish duo Betty Loop comprising of Erika Vinylo and Angel Ariza perform next, and as their name suggests Angel is a master of the loop machine both for percussion and guitar (made famous by Ed Sheeran) and Erika plays ukulele and is the lead singer.   Jukebox Bandits and friends will round the night off with a set of music to dance to kicking off with a selection of Rolling Stones songs sung by local Dutchman Kees de Leeuw (with all the actions!).   This unique multi-cultural night of music had been a huge success in previous years, please come along and make sure it is just as successful again this year.  Please gives generously to our local charity, Action for Animals to help our furry friends in need.   For Youtube footage previous concerts, key in “Canillas de Albaida Multicultural night”.    Tables may be available at La Plaza Restaurant, call 952 553254/609 167127

Does  anyone  walk or   drive  to  La Rabita  just  outside  of Torrox  Pueblo  and  would  be able  to feed  and  water  my  semi  feral  cats .  My  boyfriend  recently  had an accident  and  died,  so their  food  source  is no more,  I have  to work  in  England  7th to 25th  October,  then  following  a two  on two  off  rota, until  I can perhaps  get  work  here.   I don’t  expect  every  day,  but  maybe  every  other  day.   I can pay a little for  this help.   If   you can help  please  e mail  me  in zarzallico @hotmail. Recommendation Needed- Correct Adhesive for Tiles     Some of the small 2.5cm tiles on the walls of my swimming pool have fallen off as the pool has stood empty for several months. I can’t stick them back with normal tile adhesive as they would then stick out from the rest (impossible to remove existing adhesive in such small areas).I’m sure I can’t be the only one who has had this problem.
