The problem is due to Apple vs Google compatibility issues. Each blames the other. The summer is a great time to plant Vetiver as this plant is indigenous to India. Vetiver loves the heat of summer to grow. Vetiver is often used as a wind barrier in the fall and winter months. Vetiver is the best plant to stabilise erosion prone locations before the first fall rains come. We have plenty of plants in stock for either pickup or delivery via the Spanish Correos.
It is always a great way to spend a day in the garden.

-The Board begins the screening with massive tests in eleven localities with high incidence in Seville, Jaén, Almería, Córdoba and Málaga
-Coronavirus Andalusia: fewer infections than a week ago but mortality increases
-The Andalusian Government recommends reducing family gatherings to six people in the community.
-It has been decided to restrict mobility in the Sevillian town of Casariche due to the high incidence of the coronavirus pandemic. Thus, during the next 14 days, residents will not be able to leave their homes except for health care, attendance at educational centers, renewal of permits, bank or notarial procedures, attendance at official tests and exams or force majeure. This measure joins those that the City Council can take in terms of capacity, meetings, establishment hours, etc.
The closure of this municipality aims to stop the wave of infections by Covid-19 that is increasing instead of decreasing. Casariche has a rate of 254 positives in the last 14 days and 146 in the last seven, which shows an increase in infections.
This Sevillian town is the one with the toughest measures to fight the pandemic, but there are eleven other municipalities that also have a rate of more than 500 cases per one hundred thousand inhabitants. Likewise, a massive screening of rapid antigen tests will be carried out in eleven municipalities : Pulpí, in Almería; Almodóvar del Río, in Córdoba: Jamilena, Los Villares and Linares, in Jaén; Villaverde del Río, Arahal, Paradas and La Campana, in Seville and Sierra de Yeguas and Villanueva de la Concepción, in Malaga.
At the moment, there will be no applied special prevention measures in the Cordovan town of Lucena due to a better evolution of the pandemic in recent days. The same happens with Utrera, a Sevillian town whose mayor has asked the Board for more restrictive measures. However, epidemiological criteria do not recommend new drastic measures, beyond the restrictions that are being approved by the city council led by José María Villalobos.
-The restrictions on the number of people recommended by the Andalusian Government, which at the moment are not mandatory, do not apply to the hotel industry or to weddings, baptisms and communions that continue to maintain the same limits.
The reason for this discrimination has been explained by the Health Minister, Jesús Aguirre, who has detailed that “80% of new infections occur in family homes , in living rooms at home.” Although he has detailed that it is not ruled out to continue taking restrictive measures, “if the epidemiological situation demands it.”
-Isolated: The Health Minister has also detailed the number of people who are isolated by the coronavirus. According to official data, there are 11,555 people isolated in their homes for having tested positive for coronavirus, although they have not needed hospitalization.
In addition, there are another 26,321 Andalusians who are in preventive isolation at home waiting to obtain the PCR results or because they have had some contact with positives and this has been recommended.
As advanced by the Minister of the Presidency and spokesman for the Andalusian Government, Elías Bendodo , after the meeting of the Governing Council, the provincial committees will decide, based on the criteria of the health experts, measures in the most affected municipalities for 14 days based on the evolution of the pandemic and the epidemiological variables specific to each locality. Salud maintains continuous “monitoring” in each of the Andalusian municipalities.
-After advancing these measures, Elías Bendodo publicly requested the central government to apply a single criterion to apply special preventive measures against the advance of the pandemic for all of Spain. Community garden/allotment/huerto?: Are there any people out there who would be interested in getting together with others to find/rent a piece of land to start growing fruit/vegetables/flowers, on a co-operative basis, using permaculture methods? I am interested in being involved in something like this, in the Torrox costa area. Or does something similar already exist? I am interested in Torrox costa area because I do not have a car and don’t want one. So have to find somewhere accessible by public transport or walking.

Recommendation for Car Clean Malaga: Two years ago we got Warren to clean and valet our two cars. We were so pleased with the results that we asked him to work on the cars again this year after the summer heat had thoroughly baked on the dirt. Normal car washing wouldn’t get it off.

Juanma Moreno will approve new measures in Andalucia to stop the coronavirus: {Full article translated from https://seville.abc.es} The president of the Board meets with the scientific committee on Monday and on Tuesday he will take the measures in the Governing Council .
The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, announced this Saturday that “new decisions” will be made on Monday in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in the community and in some municipalities that are having a higher incidence of this disease.
During his speech at the closing of the Council of Mayors of the Andalusian PP that is being held in Malaga, Juanma Moreno has expressed his concern about the evolution of the pandemic and has justified these new decisions on the need to anticipate an increase in infections.
“Prevention is always better than cure,” said the Andalusian chief executive, who explained that the technical-scientific committee will meet next Monday, and on Tuesday the Governing Council will approve the necessary measures.
Moreno has indicated that there are provinces that “have stopped being protagonists in this sad ranking such as Almería”, but others such as Malaga, which was already at a high level of positives, and “in a special way” Seville, have increased the number of infections .
He has argued the need to anticipate the evolution of the disease to “try not to get run over by this great coronavirus storm”, a policy in which he has framed the acquisition of one million rapid PCR tests with 99% reliability , and another million “in the process of buying”, which will allow to have results in fifteen or twenty minutes.
The Andalusian president has appealed to the unity of all political forces and institutions by stating that they all have to work “in a network and not from ideological trenches.”
After regretting that Spain is in the news for having the highest infection rate in the European Union, he has indicated that Andalusia is “still” in the middle of the national average, something that, however, does not reassure him, as it “worries” the evolution of the pandemic.
For this reason, a contingency plan has been put in place in the hospitals to house, if necessary, 3,000 hospitalized patients, but at the same time, another plan is being worked on to be able to accommodate 4,500 admitted if necessary.
Likewise, he has referred to the situation of educational centers, where despite the “adverse circumstances, 93% do not have any incidence of coronavirus.”
Moreno has highlighted the importance of all citizens “taking seriously” the fight against the pandemic and has asked for caution in family and friends gatherings because they are appointments in which “one feels more confident.”

Health Minister calls for areas with more than 500 Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to be isolated, 5 villages in Malaga Province qualify: He also admitted, however, that the Health Ministry can only offer recommendations, and that regional authorities must “decide”.
The 14-day cumulative case incidence figure per 100,000 inhabitants in Andalucía on Friday was 158 and in Malaga province 186.
If the 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants advice was followed for every municipality in the country, however, five villages in Malaga province would be closed: Guaro, Jimera de Líbar, Sayalonga, Serrato and Sierra de Yeguas.
Other municipalities with higher incidence rates in Malaga province on Friday were Marbella with 374, Coín with 352, and Ronda 327, among others. The rate for Malaga city was 146.

Cyclists will be allowed on new Guadalhorce estuary bridge: Crossing the bridge, when it opens Sunday, will be allowed by bicycle, said councillor for Mobility José del Río, at a maximum speed of 10 km/h with priority given to pedestrians at all times.

Car Hire Question: Does anybody recall using a car hire company based in the UK, called, I think, Malaga Car Hire? I used to phone a UK number, speak to a woman in Surrey, I think, pay in sterling, then pick the car up from Niza Car Hire at the roundabout near Malaga airport, with no additional charges, no pressure to buy additional insurance, no stress at all. The service was always excellent. I have not used them for several years, and wonder if they are still in business. I haven’t been able to find them on the internet, where “Malaga Car Hire” leads to a company based near the airport. Does anybody have any leads or contact details? Peter

Orca Attacks: Spain has temporarily banned sailboats from a stretch of its northwestern coast after several vessels were damaged in attacks by orcas, or killer whales, in recent weeks.
The week-long ban, which came into effect on Tuesday night, applies to sailboats under 15 metres.
The first attack was reported on August 19th, said the ministry. Since then there had been several more orca attacks against sailboats and small yachts, causing various degrees of damage to the vessels, mostly to their rudders. Full story:

Confusion over Spain’s plans to grant citizenship for descendants of International Brigades: During the past week, it was widely reported in both the British and Spanish press that the descendants of volunteers who fought in the International Brigade during the Spanish Civil War would be offered citizenship.
Yet when details of the draft bill were published, it appears that the proposal does not stretch to descendants, and includes only the International Brigade veterans themselves.
The misunderstanding stemmed from comments made by Pablo Iglesias. Tweeting last week, the Podemos leader and Deputy Prime Minister Pablo claimed that: “The descendants of the members of the International Brigades who fought for freedom and against fascism in Spain will be eligible for Spanish nationality. It was time for this government to say to these heroes and heroines of democracy: thank you for coming.”

In recent years, some workers hired to deliver goods via apps like Glovo have been demanding recognition as salaried staff and petitioning for the corresponding rights, such as sick leave and paid holidays.

Police Chase Italian Pirate IPTV Subscribers: Police in Italy are reporting a large operation against a network involved in IPTV. Outlook email Help needed:
My wife is having a problem with her Outlook email account:
1) Whenever she sends an email to herself it goes into “Junk”
2) When she tries to share an image , to herself, ( using “Outlook” or “email” ) from her phone “gallery” or from a “Whatsapp” message; it will not send it.
There is no problem when she sends emails/images to another contact.
Note- I tried indicating on Outlook that the emails were “Not Junk”; they moved immediately into the “Inbox”, but then moved back into “Junk”?

Ministry of Health registers new 241 deaths- Spain returns to State of Alarm levels: {translated from seville.abc.es} The Ministry notifies of 10,799 new cases and 241 deaths in the last 24 hours, a number that has not been seen since last May 1, when 276 deaths were registered. According to Health calculations, ICUs are at 16.79% of their capacity.
The pandemic continues in Spain, which returns to record numbers at a time when regions are multiplying their efforts to contain contagions. In just 24 hours, the country adds 241 deaths, a figure that it had not seen since the hardest moments of the epidemic, and 10,799 new cases, of which 3,125 correspond to the last 24 hours.
Since last May 1, when were registered 276 deaths (which were reported on day 2), in a state of alarm and with the country confined, such a high death toll is not remembered.
The data provided by Health adds 241 new deaths , which brings the total figure to 30,904 compared to 30,663 in the report this Monday. In the past seven days, 468 people have died with a confirmed diagnosis of coronavirus. This is a slight increase compared to the 311 that were reported in Monday’s report. By region, the Community of Madrid is the community with the highest number of deaths in the last week: 171 (9,129 in total). They are followed by the Basque Country , which registers 65 (1,824 in total) and Andalusia with 47 (1,702 in the total count).
Of the 3,125 new cases in the last 24 hours, 335 have occurred in Andalusia, 308 in Aragon, 68 in Asturias, 28 in the Balearic Islands, 161 in the Canary Islands, 51 in Cantabria, 62 in Castilla-La Mancha, 10 in Castilla y León, 125 in Catalonia, nine in Ceuta, 27 in the Valencian Community, 178 in Extremadura, 73 in Galicia, 953 in Madrid, 16 in Melilla, 56 in Murcia, 348 in Navarra, 291 in the Basque Country and 26 in La Rioja.
At this time, there are 10,629 people admitted for coronavirus throughout the country, which is a slight decrease compared to yesterday’s figures (11,031). The pressure in the ICU is another major concern and there, according to data provided by the Ministry, 1,348 occupied beds (also a slight decrease compared with Monday, when they were 1,417), although in the last 24 hours have produced 949 admissions and 416 discharges. The occupancy rate of beds occupied by coronavirus is already 9.6%, while ICUs are at 16.79% of their capacity.

As Europe faces 2nd wave of virus, tracing apps lack impact: Mobile apps tracing new COVID-19 cases were touted as a key part of Europe’s plan to beat the coronavirus outbreak. BREAKING NEWS– Covid-19: UK coronavirus alert level moving to 4: The UK’s coronavirus alert level is being upgraded from 3 to 4, meaning transmission is “high or rising exponentially”, its chief medical officers have said. It comes after the government’s scientific adviser warned there could be 50,000 new coronavirus cases a day by mid-October without further action.
On Monday, a further 4,368 daily cases were reported in the UK, up from 3,899.

Nine new Covid-related deaths reported in daily update for Malaga province: Monday’s figures showed fourteen fatalities around the region of Andalucía, where 988 Covid patients are in hospital, 136 in intensive care. The daily Covid-19 update from the Andalusian Health ministry added nine new deaths in the province of Malaga (which includes the Costa del Sol health districts), taking the totals for this month up to 52 and since the start of the pandemic to 350.

Torre del Mar Day Centre reopens to feed the elderly and vulnerable: The first deputy mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Jesús Atencia, announced on Monday morning, September 21, the launch of the dining room of the Torre del Mar Day Centre, which will provide a take away food service for the elderly.
Councillor José David Segura has detailed the start-up of the service, which will be from Monday to Friday: “It will be open from 1 to 3 pm only with take-out food. There will be hot, good quality food at a very economical price for the elderly, which will allow them to follow a balanced diet helping them to stay healthy,” he said.
