With 530 who have recovered in Spain, there are 272 in critical condition. https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/03/17/latest-statistics-from-spain-and-around-the-world-on-coronavirus-regular-update-daily/

Spain registers second-highest daily rise in coronavirus infections in the world: Madrid government believes fall in the number of new cases will only be seen in the region after 10 days of total lockdown.
Spanish health authorities reported on Monday a jump of 13% makes Spain the country with the second-highest number of new daily cases in the world, according to the latest comparable data from the World Health Organization. Spain has also overtaken South Korea to become the country with the fourth-highest number of coronavirus cases in the world.
Fernando Simón, the director of the Health Ministry’s Coordination Center for Health Alerts, said on Monday that the mortality rate for coronavirus remained at around 3% and that the number of cases was expected to rise over the next 10 days.
Hairdresser Ruling Changed: On Sunday the government backtracked on its original plan to allow hairdressers to open during the state of alarm. The move came on the request of regional premiers across Spain, after the prime minister held a video conference call with all 17 leaders on Sunday. The service will only be available in people’s homes, and provided for the most vulnerable members of society for reasons of hygiene. This was why the closure of hairdressers was initially left out of the central government’s measures. Full article:

Another black Monday as coronavirus response upends Wall Street: NEW YORK (Reuters)- Wall Street suffered its biggest drop since the crash of 1987 on Monday after unprecedented steps taken by the Federal Reserve, lawmakers and the White House to slow the spread and blunt the economic hit of the coronavirus failed to restore order to markets. The S&P 500 tumbled 12%, closing at its lowest level since December 2018, despite the Fed’s surprise move late Sunday to cut interest rates to near zero, its second emergency rate cut in less than two weeks and ahead of a scheduled policy meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It was the third-largest daily percentage drop on record, beaten only by the 1987 “Black Monday” rout and the crash of October 1929.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI fell 2,997.1 points, or 12.93%, to 20,188.52, the S&P 500 .SPX lost 324.89 points, or 11.98%, to 2,386.13. The Nasdaq Composite .IXIC dropped 970.28 points, or 12.32%, to 6,904.59.
The S&P 500 lost $2.69 trillion in market capitalization for the day, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices, and the index is down 29.5% from its record high close on Feb. 19 and has lost$8.28 trillion in that time, based on S&P Dow Jones data. Coronavirus testing no longer being carried out on those presenting mild symptoms: Hospitals in Andalucía will, as of Monday, no longer carry out coronavirus testing on patients presenting a mild acute respiratory infection, sources inside the health service told SUR. This measure has been adopted following the latest update of the Ministry of Health protocol. Spain to close land borders over coronavirus spread: Spain will close its borders with France and Portugal at midnight on Monday to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
The announcement came from Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska on Monday afternoon as the number of deaths in Spain from COVID-19 soared to over 300.
Only Spanish residents returning to their home in Spain or those with authorization would be allowed to cross into Spain, he said, adding that documents would be required to show valid reason for entering.
The closure, which will affect all cross-border traffic with France, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar, was to remain in place until the end of an alert that began on Saturday for an initial period of two weeks although it could be extended with the permission of Spain’s parliament.
The measure will not affect the transportation of goods, the interior minister pointed out.
Spain has not yet closed air traffic to and from its airports but the interior minister did not rule it out as a step to be taken in the future.

Is 15 Days Long Enough?: Transport Minister Jose Luis Abalos warned that the state of alert, which was initially put in place for a two-week period, would almost certainly be extended in a move which would need the approval of parliament. “It’s clear that we will need to extend this situation… I think it’s clear that 15 days won’t be enough to win the battle,” he told RNE, Spain’s public radio. Cured people can continue to infect 15 days more: The director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has warned that people who have become infected with Covid19, and who have stopped suffering from symptoms, can continue to infect other people for two weeks (some “less trusted” sources suggest even longer -Ed.). Therefore, in the daily press conference, Tedros has asked that although these patients no longer present symptoms, they should continue to receive no visits until the end of that period.  Source (Spanish): https://www.larazon.es/sociedad/20200316/wwkmwsbjbzfy5oxe7xe353gmfq.html

The Government is considering exempting companies and the self-employed from paying contributions and is studying paying widespread unemployment: The Government is finalizing the economic measures of its shock plan that it will approve tomorrow in the Council of Ministers, including some of the most awaited by businessmen, self-employed workers and unions. According to sources consulted by LA RAZÓN, the Executive would be willing to assume the concession of unemployment benefit for all productive sectors -including the self-employed due to cessation of activity, for which the procedures will be streamlined and smoothed-, and would do so without requiring grace period, minimum terms or insufficient contributions. In addition, the temporary suspension of the payment of contributions to the companies involved in closings and employment regulations, and self-employed workers with their dependents who have paralyzed their activity, would be approved, and special legislation would be passed through express measures to speed up the regulation of temporary employment (ERTE) by causality.
Lines of credit and guarantees will also be approved by the Official Credit Institute (ICO) for those companies that request it to meet their expenses due to lack of income – with a volume of 30,000 million euros, expandable by another 20,000 if it were necessary-, with a reduced interest and with a repayment period to be determined, but which will be “very broad”, explained the same sources. In this way, the Executive will attend to the requests requested by the social agents – employers and unions – that They sent their own agreed-upon action plan, which included these and other additional measures, which appear to have been addressed.
At the moment, it has not been revealed whether the new government measures will apply the temporary suspension of monthly payments for gas, electricity, water and mortgages for companies, self-employed workers and workers affected by the coronavirus, but it seems unlikely that it will carry out in this first package of measures. The ones that are almost confirmed are the fiscal measures. Some tax payments may already be deferred.
The head of Labor, Yolanda Diaz, seems to have finally imposed the criteria that already advanced in the action guide published at the start of the health crisis. In it, it authorized companies that were in need of paralyzing their business activities due to the direct cause of the coronavirus to suppress all payments of Social Security contributions during the total period of closure – now they have also included SMEs and the self-employed. Of course, they must “duly” prove that it is due to “force majeure”, as established in articles 47 and 51 of the Workers’ Statute. This measure, which must be authorized by the Labor Inspectorate, will guarantee that the period released from contribution will count as “effectively contributed by the worker”. In the event of dismissals, “compensation will be borne by the Salary Guarantee Fund (Fogasa)”. Full article (Spanish): https://www.larazon.es/economia/20200316/lqymwirdhbashpupiyiep5mp3q.html

EU Proposes Halt Entry for Foreigners, Britons Remain Unaffected: The EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen while announcing the proposal, said that UK citizens, though in the transitional period of leaving the EU, would not be subject to the entry ban,
“The UK citizens are European citizens, so, of course, there are no restrictions for the UK citizens to travel to the Continent,” she explained.
According to the proposal, while all non-essential entry to EU will be halted, excluded are doctors, medical staff and cross-border workers.
Europe’s move to undertake such a move follows the reintroduction of internal border controls by several EU member countries banning from entering all travellers that were not their passport holders, including Germany and Estonia.
For the Schengen Area to be suspended, all Schengen members must approve the plan.

Army troops patrolling Spain’s Malaga order residents to be ‘responsible & stay at home’: Military vans patrolled Malaga’s streets today with a clear message for its residents: “Stopping the pandemic is everyone’s responsibility. Stay at home!” According to the authorities, it seems that the importance of staying confined at home to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is finally sinking in ‘bit by bit’. Some Good Pandemic News: South Korea reports fewer than 100 new coronavirus cases for a third day. South Korea reported 84 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, marking a third day in a row that the county has reported fewer than 100 new infections amid growing hopes that Asia’s largest outbreak outside China may be easing.
The new numbers are well below a Feb. 29 peak of 909, and bring the country’s total infections to 8,320, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said.
The death toll rose by two to 81, the KCDC said.
Another 264 patients were released after recovering, bringing the total to 1,401, it added.
President Moon Jae-in has said he was increasingly confident South Korea would overcome the virus as the rate of new cases continued to drop, although authorities noted another large cluster had emerged in the greater Seoul area. France fines Apple $1.2 billion for anti-competitive acts: “Apple abusively exploited” distributors’ dependence on the tech giant, the authority wrote, and “prevented competition among different Apple distribution channels.” And that, in turn, hurt consumers.
Two “premium” French Apple re-sellers, Tech Data and Ingram Micro, were also fined a total of 139 million euros ($155 million). The competition authority said Apple and the re-sellers agreed not to compete.

DAY OFF & SUMMER SCHEDULE:
-Summer schedule. No Sunday issues in the Summer. The last Sunday issue before the Summer break will be April 8th. Sunday issues will resume October 18th. Church listings normally posted on Sunday will be moved back to Fridays.

Lockdown Time Moved Up From Monday, Now In Effect: After 2 emails Sunday afternoon pointing out that the lockdown had begun in some areas I investigated. Sure enough, articles that came out Sunday morning are saying the lockdown began Sat night/ Sun Morning. What happened? As explained in the El Pais newspaper, (https://english.elpais.com/spanish_news/2020-03-15/members-of-the-spanish-public-face-fines-or-even-prison-if-they-disobey-lockdown-rules.html ) the decree was signed Saturday night, but “no operational protocols were provided to the Police.” This resulted in some police beginning enforcement while others waited for instructions. It was not until Sunday morning that Spain’s Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska issued an order that establishes the operational protocols of the security forces in the country. So in some places enforcement did not begin until late Sunday afternoon.
The info I provided was current at time of writing Saturday night. Such is the nature of publishing a daily prepared in advance, late changing details go into the following day’s issue.
TO BE CLEAR…THE LOCKDOWN HAS BEGUN
Thanks to those readers who pointed it out. -Ed.

Latest figures released at 11.30 PM Sunday demonstrate Andalucia and especially the Costa del Sol has serious issues: Andalucia has 437 cases currently with 6 deaths with most of the cases being registered on the Costa del Sol. Scientists are now stating tonight the deadly virus could last for up to 12 months unless a vaccination is found.
The Costa del Sol region is a large factor of the Andalucian figures according to a doctor tonight who told the Euro Weekly News, San Pedro close to Marbella is the largest region on the Costa del Sol, he said: ”These are official figures of who have clearly tested positive, I’m aware of 660 likely cases in the region of San Pedro which seems to be an area heavily affected and I expect the Andalucia figure to rise heavily in the next 7 days”

Virus Article, How long can it survive on surfaces? : https://abcnews.go.com/Health/covid19-days-surfaces-experiment-findings/story?id=69569397

Keeping Busy During The Lockdown, Pt. 1: Here are some ideas for activities to keep you active and help pass the time, of which we all now have plenty to spare.
-Cooking. Now is the time to make those recipes that you normally avoid because they require hours or days to prepare. Take your time, pay attention to detail and proceed as if you were cooking for VIPs. Then open that bottle of wine you’ve been keeping for a special occasion and treat yourself to a long, lesiurely meal on your best china, pausing between courses. Treating yourself well combats the isolation blues! My “Chicken l’Orange” and “Sweet & Sour Tofu” both require 2 full days to prepare, so I rarely go for it.
-Organize your computer devices. This is the perfect time to do those boring but necessary tasks you have been putting off, such as making backups, cleaning out duplicate files, malware & CCleaner scans, cleaning out your tower and etc. Check Youtube for tutorial videos and learn how to do those tasks you are not confident doing now.
-Spring cleaning. It’s warming up, may as well go ahead and do a proper house cleaning. You are not in a hurry, take your time and pay special attention to those “trouble spots”.
-Sewing. If you have accumulated a pile of clothes that require patching or need split seams repaired, put aside a few hours, get everything you will need laid out for easy access, put the kettle on, and then dive in. Listen to music or ebooks while you work. Avoid listening to the news all day, it’s unnecessarily depressing.
-Gardening. House plants. If you live in a flat, get your porch and window ledge plants setup. In either case, get your seedlings started, prepare the pots. Check your water Ph with a pool water kit or Ph paper from the pharmacy. Typical tap water here is very alkaline, with a Ph of 8+. Most plants prefer water with a Ph of approx. 5.5 to 6.5 for optimal growth, so you can add an acid like vinegar or lemon juice or other ecologic acid to reduce the Ph. I find that adding 2 tablespoons of apple vinegar to 5 liters of tap water brings my Torrox Costa tap water to a Ph of approx.  6.2. You may have to experiment a bit to find what’s right for your water.
Mobile Device Advanced Functions: So you bought a fancy new smartphone or tablet. It has a thousand functions and many more are available as apps, but all you use it for is calls, texts, Facebook and maps. Now is a good time to visit the device’s website and actually read the user guide. Identify what other features it has that you may actually find useful, read about them, and learn how to use them. When you have finished reading the User Guide, you can start learning about other features here.

New Android Cookie-Stealing Malware Found Hijacking Facebook Accounts: A new simple but dangerous strain of Android malware has been found in the wild that steals users’ authentication cookies from the web browsing and other apps, including Chrome and Facebook, installed on the compromised devices.
Given how cookies on a device allow users to stay logged in to a service without having to repeatedly sign in, Cookiethief aims to exploit this very behavior to let attackers gain unauthorized access to the victim accounts without knowing their actual online accounts passwords. “This way, a cybercriminal armed with a cookie can pass himself off as the unsuspecting victim and use the latter’s account for personal gain,” the researchers said.

DigameXtra Pandemic Update Sunday 15MAR20 – No Regular Issue Today, Full Issues Return Monday

SPAIN’S 15 DAY LOCKDOWN BEGINS MONDAY MORNING

DigameXtra will continue publishing daily.  I anticipate few new  submissions for the next 2 weeks considering the circumstances. Yet in these times DigameXtra is in a unique position to provide updated information and facilitate  messaging between readers, groups, etc. I encourage readers to share “lockdown” related photos from their neighborhoods to give readers an idea of what to expect when they venture out.

Note From Naythan: DoctorLaptop will be open all day Sunday for last minute drop-offs before what looks to be an enforced 2 week vacation from computerland. Call 675 993 069 to arrange drop-offs.

Follow the 1 meter rule! As I saw Saturday in a Torrox Costa tobacco shop, many businesses that do remain open will be enforcing a manditory minimum distance of 1 to 1.5 meters between all individuals. Stores may limit the number of customers allowed in at one time, forcing you to wait in line outside, maintaining the 1 meter rule.

Those with dogs are to be allowed to walk them if they maintain basic social distancing rules such as maintaining a safe distance between other dogwalkers, according to http://www.thelocal.es. However, with parks and beaches closed, city dwellers will be limited to sidewalk strolls.

From the local news, updated Sunday 1AM:

surinenglish.com:
Andalusian government orders closure of bars, restaurants and non-essential businesses. President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, raised the Emergency Level in the region from 1 to 2 on Saturday.
Only supermarkets and food stores, pharmacies, petrol stations and emergency clinics will be allowed to remain open.
The closure of all beaches along the Andalusian coastline is also among the measures.
This is the first time that Emergency Level 2 has been activated in the region. Full article:

Coronavirus: What you can and can’t do during Spain’s state of alert.
Spain is on lockdown. Everything except supermarkets and pharmacies is closed and from Monday people will not be allowed to leave their homes except to get supplies or for exceptional reasons.
Everyone in Spain, regardless of the region, will be expected to stay within their homes and police will be given the powers to stop and question people found outside and in vehicles using public roads.
Public transport will not be shut down entirely, although it will be reduced by fifty percent.
People will only be allowed on the streets and to circulate in private cars under the following circumstances:
To buy essentials from supermarkets or pharmacies
Strict measures will be in place at shops to prevent crowding and ensure that consumers and employees remain at least one metre apart from each other to reduce the risk of contagion.
To go to work
To return to your primary place of residence
To visit needy relatives or vulnerable people
To visit the doctor or hospital
Phone ahead to check the appointment is still happening as non-essential treatment at hospitals has in most cases been postponed. If you have symptoms of the coronavirus stay home in quarantine and if the symptoms become severe then contact your regional hotline.
To visit financial institutions
We are assuming this is to visit a cash point only.
Due to force majeure, an unspecified activity that can be justified as a valid reason.
Can I socialize with my friends?
Um no, the whole point is that people need to stay home and socially distance to try and slow down spread of COVID-19.
All bars, restaurants, cultural spaces have been shut down across Spain and you’ll be stopped if you are spotted sitting in a park chatting with friends.
How long will this last?
The state of alert will be in place for 15 days but could be extended with permission of Spain’s parliament.
Should I be stockpiling?
Authorities insist there is no need to stockpile beyond buying enough to last the household for a week at a time, because the supplies are not threatened.
Police stops
Spain’s police forces have the power to stop vehicles on public roads to check their purpose of being there and adds that drivers will be able to refuel at service stations.
But those with dogs are to be allowed to walk them if they maintain basic social distancing rules such as maintaining a safe distance between other dogwalkers.

Drastic measures vital to ‘win war against Coronavirus’ says Spain’s Prime Minister. As well as the closure of all educational establishments and centres, he confirmed the closure of all public places and spaces, including restaurants, bars, gyms, parks, beaches, museums, etc across the whole of Spain.
The ‘drastic’ measures now include severe restrictions on citizen movements, which are limited to buying urgent supplies, such as food or medicines or travel to work for the next 15 days to limit the spread of the virus. “ All journeys, whether by car, foot or public transport can only be for emergency supplies, and not social purposes. Yes you can go to check in on a vulnerable family member, and even walk the dog, but going to have coffee/dinner with friends is not allowed,” he clarified.
He reiterated that the Government will guarantee production and distribution of basic supplies. Establishments permitted to remain open are limited to supermarkets, bakeries, fishmongers, butcher’s shops, greengrocers, pharmacies, petrol stations, tobacconists and newspaper kiosks. All other commercial and public establishments will remain closed, he confirmed. Full article:

Lux Mundi Torre del Mar and Fuengirola will temporarily be closing following instructions from the Junta de Andalucia to close centres where people, who are over 60, or in a vulnerable situation because of illnesses, meet. As we are part of this group and after listening to the different opinions of our volunteers, the advice of health authorities, the board of Directors of Lux Mundi formed by the Malaga Dioceses and the Jesuits we will be closing until the scare is over.
The Fuengirola Centre will be closed from Monday 16th March and the Torre del Mar Centre from Tuesday 17th March, until further notice.
I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to those who come to the Centres but there are things that are out of our control and cannot change. For the moment the religious services held at both Centres during weekends are going to continue until further notice.
We will still be available on the telephone and to help those who need us during these difficult times.
We look forward to reopening our doors as soon as possible.

Cinema In English: I´m afraid that there won´t be any in the near future. Both the Cinesur in El Ingenio and Yelmo Rincon are closing because of the Coronavirus. Inevitable, I suppose. I´ll let you know when they reopen. Doug. (Thanks Doug, stay safe, -Ed.)

Worst day on Wall Street since 1987 as virus fears spread: The escalating coronavirus emergency sent the stock market Thursday into its worst slide since the Black Monday crash of 1987. European markets fell 12% in one of their worst days ever, even after the European Central Bank pledged to buy more bonds and offer more help for the economy.
The rout came amid a cascade of cancellations and shutdowns across the globe — including Trump’s suspension of most travel to the U.S. from Europe.

Spain overtakes France to become Europe’s second most Coronavirus-infected country after Italy: With more than 3,142 people in the country testing positive for COVID-19, it has overtaken both France (with around 2,876 cases) and Germany (approximately 2,512 cases), in just a matter of days.
Given the latest drastic measures to control the virus, Spain is now considered to be a high-risk zone for the virus. Practically all the regional governments have taken the Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s advice today, stepping up measures to control the virus, including school and university closures across the country, as well as day centres, and suspending all large group activities, as reported throughout the day.

Costa declared special containment zone as it accounts for 70% of Covid-19 cases in Andalucía: Malaga city, the Guadalhorce valley and the Costa del Sol have been declared special containment areas as they account for almost 70 per cent of the cases of coronavirus confirmed in Andalucía.
According to the latest update offered by the regional Ministry of Health and Families, in the province of Malaga there are 77 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (102 across the region). This figure means that during Wednesday evening there were 10 more positive diagnoses in Malaga province, compared to 67 in the morning.
For the protection of the elderly population, specific and preventive measures have been decreed for the area, including the suspension of activities in day stay units and in day centres. Across the whole of Andalucía, the 168 Junta-run ‘active participation centres’ have been closed and it has also been recommended to close the 485 owned by councils and the 90 private centres as preventive measures for the population at greatest risk.

Beware of ‘Coronavirus Maps’ – It’s a malware infecting PCs to steal passwords: Reason Cybersecurity recently released a threat analysis report detailing a new attack that takes advantage of internet users’ increased craving for information about the novel coronavirus that is wreaking havoc worldwide.
The malware attack specifically aims to target those who are looking for cartographic (images) presentations of the spread of COVID-19 on the Internet, and trickes them to download and run a malicious application that, on its front-end, shows a map loaded from a legit online source but in the background compromises the computer.

Homemade Face masks: I have been told by several readers that the local supply of virus filtering face masks has sold out at many vendors. Here is an alternative.
Researchers at Cambridge University tested a wide range of household materials for homemade masks. They tested how well these materials could capture virus-sized particles in comparison to a surgical mask.
Not surprisingly, the surgical mask performed best, capturing 97% of the 1-micron bacteria. Yet every single material filtered out at least 50% of particles. The top performers were the vacuum cleaner bag (95%), the tea towel or ‘dish cloth’ (83%), the cotton blend shirt mix (74%), and the 100% cotton shirt (69%).
What about double layers you ask? Overall, the double layers didn’t help much. The double-layer pillowcase captured the same amount of particles, and the double-layer shirt captured just 2% more particles. Yet the extra tea cloth layer boosted performance by 14%. That made the tea towel as effective as the surgical mask! Read the details:
https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/best-materials-make-diy-face-mask-virus/
If you’d like to see an excellent example of Google Search Censorship in action try this. Do a google search, and a Duckduckgo search, both for “how to make home made virus masks”. Google won’t tell you how to make a mask. Duckduckgo has the first few pages of returns with nothing but websites and videos on how to make homemade masks! Gee, thanks for looking out for us Google…NOT!

Coronavirus In Spain, Update: Spain’s Health Ministry predicts coronavirus epidemic will last between two and five months.
A total of 2,109 infections have been registered in the country so far, with the number of deaths from the Covid-19 disease at 49. Under ideal circumstances, if all of the measures being taken to control the spread of coronavirus work perfectly in Spain, the Health Ministry believes that the Covid-19 epidemic could come to an end in the country in two months. But this outcome is so idyllic that the experts consider it to be highly unlikely. “In the worst case, it could last four or five months,” said Fernando Simón, the director of the Health Ministry’s Coordination Center for Health Alerts and Emergencies. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Simón confirmed the latest number of confirmed infections in Spain at 2,109, and the number of deaths at 49.

Dispute over ‘illegal’ parking fines in Nerja: The Autonomous Motorhome Platform of Spain (PACA) has officially denounced the Council after receiving more than 50 complaints from mobile home owners who have been served what the group calls ‘illegal’ parking fines.
The fines relate to parking in certain ‘prohibited’ areas or for parking for longer than the maximum stipulated period of time. But PACA President, Jesús Gallardo, argued that the majority of the 100-plus tickets issued, with an average amount of €50, were imposed ‘illegally’, and will be appealed against.

Seventh edition of the Festival of Sacred Music and Early Music “La Liebre de Marzo” :
One more edition that we present with the same enthusiasm as the first, but with much more responsibility when choosing the orchestras or choral groups that will participate.
The road traveled, with rigor and sobriety, is leading us to be a festival, humble, small, but which is being taken into consideration within the panorama of festivals, cycles and recitals of this musical genre.
After seven years we can look back and analyze and check the evolution of the festival: 8 choirs and 4 orchestral groups representing different musical styles, all with ancient music or religious music, from the most contemporary, to the most distant.
As is traditional in our festival, in programming we will enjoy a vocal and other instrumental section and the repertoire will be composed of ancient music and religious music.
We will begin the festival with the Baroque Orchestra of Malaga that will offer us a program dedicated to one of the great composers of classical music, Wolf Amadeus Mozart, the orchestra will perform one of the great quartets of this composer and will do so with the instruments of the time .
We will continue with the Chamber Choir of the University of Malaga. For us in a pleasure to have the chamber section of the UMA choir, a choir that is standing out for its versatility and its interventions in the different concerts it is performing, the program, entirely sacred, will lead us to the musicality of the centuries before the eighteenth to the most prominent Spanish composers in religious compositions.

-10th – Trip to Puente Genil to see the Easter Processions with Guide €24. Holy Week is commonly known as “la Mananta”, presents the processions of biblical figures from the Old and New Testament. These include the Roman Empire, which is noteworthy due to its number, martial nature, beauty of the costumes and original music marches.

May
-15th May – A visit to Granada City with a 2 hour tour of the Gypsy Quarter €28pp.The Sacromonte district is located on the Valparaiso hill of Granada and borders the north-east side of the Arab El Albaícin district. In the 15th century, a large group of Roma, or the Spanish gypsies (the Gitanos) situated themselves here. They created houses by making cave homes in the hills; the Sacromonte district owes its fame to these houses. In the 15th century, the Valparaiso hill received the status of holy mountain, because people believed the caves in the hill contained the remnants of the city’s patron saint, San Cecilio. The literal meaning of Sacromonte is therefore holy mountain. This population group Gitanos has a long-standing tradition with the flamenco, the typical Spanish dance and music. The Gitanos mixed the traditional Spanish flamenco with Arab belly dancing. Many flamenco shows are still frequently held in the cave homes; these bars are also referred to as tablaos. During the day, the Sacromonte district is often deserted, but at night, the quarter comes to life. Despite the fact that the flamenco shows seem somewhat touristic, a visit to one of the flamenco caves is certain worth while during your visit to Granada. During the day, Sacromonte gives you a stunning view of the city of Granada, such as the Albaicín district and the Alhambra. In the museum there are eleven cave houses, where you will find information about the history, traditions and inhabitants of Sacromonte.
All our trips include the driver’s gratuity of €1. Pick ups in Maro, BP Garage Torrox, Algarrobo, Torre del Mar and the A1 Garden Centre – depending on direction of travel. Coronavirus In Spain, Update:
-Cases of coronavirus in Malaga province increase to 59. Seventeen new cases were reported in the province of Malaga on Tuesday, while the total for Spain reached 1,600.
-Uncontrolled spread of coronavirus in Spain forces an official change of scenario. The central government on Monday recognized that there are outbreaks that are not under control and the containment phase of the virus is now over. Health Minister Illa spoke on Monday evening to announce social-distancing measures in areas with “high transmission” rates.
The health minister has recommended that citizens in Madrid and Álava work from home wherever possible, and avoid meetings. In the rest of Spanish territory, while the ministry insisted that the other outbreaks are under control, there has also been an increase in the recommended precautions. These measures include greater care of seniors, limiting unnecessary journeys, avoiding busy locations in the case of people who suffer chronic illnesses, and self-isolation for anyone who is presenting symptoms.
For those people who do have symptoms, the official advice is that they stay at home, and call the health services who will assess whether tests should be carried out to check for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the Covid-19 disease.

Spain’s traffic police now using ‘undetectable’ radars to catch speeding drivers: The new Velolaser radar will make it easier for the traffic police to catch and fine speeding drivers on Spanish roads. They are now already widely used by the Guardia Civil. Thanks to the new laser technology, the margin of error on this radar model has dropped from 7% to 5%, so speeding drivers need to watch out as they will only be able to go 5km over the limit before they are fined – if they get caught, of course. DoctorLaptop’s Computer News- The Future of Windows is Windows 10X Running On Folding Screen Laptops and Dual Screen Tablets: A Foldable Experience. With smartphones and tablets both having plateaued, every major technology company is focusing on what is next these days. Whether that is completely new type of devices or Augmented / Virtual Reality platforms, these new screens are the talk of the town. It is for this very reason that the next version of Windows will focus on dual-screen and foldable devices first and foremost.
When you launch an app in Windows 10X, it will launch on one side of your device but you will have the ability to have it span both screens. In laptop mode one screen is the display, the other screen is your touchscreen-keyboard.
Windows 10X will only be available on devices that ship with it. The operating system will not be available for purchase, or up for grabs to be downloaded and installed on existing hardware. What this means for reinstalling the operating system, which is a common task in the repair sector, remains to be seen. Microsoft will not push Windows 10X as an update for Windows 10 users.
What this basically means is that if you want to use this new version of Windows, you will have to buy a new device that comes with Windows 10X preinstalled. These devices are on track for arrival in the second half of 2020.
The Microsoft “Surface Neo” is the flagship model here, but other OEMs will also launch their own dual-screen and foldable creations soon after. ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo are all working on their very own machines, powered by Intel hardware and running this sleek new version of Windows.
What’s important to note here is that Microsoft will bring Windows 10X to more than just the new foldable PCs, manufacturers will also be able to ship Windows 10X on traditional laptops and hybrid 2-in-1 devices, as the operating system is capable of running on these types of machines as well.

SCAM ALERT FROM THE RED CROSS: The global alarm around the outbreak of the coronavirus is already being exploited by criminals, who take advantage of the situation to enter the homes of “vulnerable” people with the intention of stealing what is inside the homes, or requesting money for fake services.
The argument to gain the trust of the neighbors was to convince them that they were going to undergo the necessary tests to confirm if they had been infected by the virus.
This situation has forced the Red Cross in Álava to warn through its social networks about the bogus of false NGO volunteers They visit homes to perform their coronavirus tests on their victims.
“No, we are not knocking on the doors of the houses to do the coronavirus tests”, explains Red Cross in a tweet, ensuring that their volunteers are not engaged in testing coronavirus at home.

Madrid closes ALL schools for 2 weeks as coronavirus continues spread across Spain: Authorities in Madrid – the regions of Spain with the most confirmed coronavirus cases – have ordered all schools, daycare centres and universities to close for two weeks starting on Wednesday.
The measure, which will see education centers closed for two weeks, will affect more than 1.5 million pupils and students.
The measure, aimed at slowing the spread of the virus, was announced on Monday evening after authorities in the Basque city of Vitoria, which has also seen a big outbreak of the virus, took a similar step.

Wall Street clobbered as Saudis drive down crude oil prices while virus crisis deepens: Wall Street suffered its biggest one-day loss since the 2008 financial crisis on Monday and recession worries loomed large as tumbling oil prices and ongoing coronavirus fears prompted investor panic.

UPDATED 9pm Sunday March 8: (Wall St. Journal) ITALY RESTRICTS QUARTER OF POPULATION. Italy Locks Down the Country’s North to Fight Coronavirus. Quarantine bans movement into and out of northern provinces, including Milan, Venice and Parma: A decree from the Italian Prime Minister’s office says people living in Lombardy, where Milan is the capital, and the named provinces in Lombardy’s nearby regions must “absolutely avoid any movement into and out of the areas.”
Italy had confirmed 5,883 coronavirus cases by Saturday, of which 233 people had died. Italy has tried to respond with moderate restrictions, such as banning many public events; before Saturday it had only imposed lockdowns on small areas in the country’s north, with a population of around 50,000.
Spain’s Coronavirus death toll jumps to 17 after 7 deaths Sunday. While the Spanish health authority has confirmed that there are now more than 605 people infected with COVID-19 across the country, they stress there is no reason to panic as these numbers are small when compared to the regular annual flu cases and fatalities.

Gloomy Outlook For Summer Entertainment and Tourism: The music scene on Spain’s Costa del Sol is under threat as music agents are struggling to get artists to come to Spain due to coronavirus scares. One well known music agent on the Costa del Sol told the Euro Weekly News how many issues he has: ” I’m calling bands and artists and offering them gigs but they say ”no thanks” at this present time, citing it’s not worth the risk travelling here to Spain.
He went on to explain another pending issue with bookings, ” Whilst I have the problem of getting artists to Spain another issue is that the larger venues are holding back making bookings for the Easter and summer periods as they don’t know what position they will be in…” Spain’s Costa del Sol could suffer this summer with holiday makers numbers predicted to be way down unless there a surge of late bookings; and with the entertainment scene having issues there is less to draw the tourists in. https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/03/08/costa-del-sols-music-scene-under-threat-with-a-shortage-of-artists-coming-to-spain/

Italy Plans Large-Scale Lockdown in Country’s North to Fight Coronavirus (Wall St. Journal): The Quarantine, if approved, would ban movement into and out northern provinces, including Milan, Venice and Parma. The government hasn’t yet taken a final decision, but one could come on Saturday night, according to two Italian officials. The quarantine would take effect on Sunday and run until April 3, according to the draft decree. Italy had confirmed 5,883 coronavirus cases by Saturday, of which 233 people had died. The Italian government is planning to lock down 16 million people—more than a quarter of its population, including the region around Milan and 11 provinces in nearby regions—in the most sweeping steps any European country has prepared to take against the coronavirus epidemic.
A draft decree from the Italian Prime Minister’s office, seen by The Wall Street Journal, says people living in Lombardy, where Milan is the capital, and the named provinces in Lombardy’s nearby regions must “absolutely avoid any movement into and out of the areas.”
