What’s coming in the next big Windows 10 Update v1809 in Oct?
There are some significant, overdue changes such as an updated Clipboard with new Clip & Paste functions, and fairly silly updates like support for 157 new emojis. And of course they have reshuffled the Settings. What I found especially disturbing is the addition of these 2 terms in Settings: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Here is an example of AI at work. We already have predictive spelling, type 2 or 3 letters and the word pops up before you can finish typing. Now your comp will guess the next word before you finish typing the current word. I certainly don’t need Google to put their spin on what my next word should be. And I don’t need Machine Learning (since it surely knows better than me) altering settings I specifically set in a certain fashion.

Artists Workshop at Ruta de Frigiliana: This year the Ruta de Frigiliana extends over three days 5/6/7 October. On the Friday 5th and Sunday 7th October I will be holding a figure drawing workshop with a clothed model from 10.00 until 12.00 noon. There will be easels available but bring your own materials, drawing paper, charcoal, pastels, pencils etc. The charge for the session is 10 euro p.p.

We have been members for several years now and the discount applied at the many clinics/dentists/physios etc. etc. is very good. Clinica Rincon is one of the associated clinics within the scheme. Our joint membership is 99 €uros per. annum. Renewal is always easy. Simple Care is based in Torrox. Help or advice with electricity supplier: Can anyone advise or recommend somewhere local to Competa where I’ll be able to increase my potentia with endesa which is proving remarkably difficult as I cannot access my online account anymore. Alternatively, I’m open to changing suppliers but would prefer to not incur the associated costs unless absolutely necessary. Has anyone had recent experience dealing with endesa in Nerja or is there a local contact who could assist with supplier changeover.

Salud 101 Update, Clinica Rincon has changed hands: We are members of Clinica Rincon’s very useful Salud101 scheme which gives discounts on private medical treatment. One of its advantages is it does not refuse pre-existing conditions. We just found out that Clinica Rincon has changed hands and the scheme is now closed to new members. I have tried to get more information but the receptionists I talked to didn’t seem to know much. They think that existing memberships will continue and can be renewed, at least for now. Does anyone have more information, or can anyone recommend a similar scheme suitable for ‘topping up’ health service cover?

Forget virtual reality, this is the real thing with secret compartments and cryptic messages hidden in some very ingenious places. My wife and I went with our grand daughter and her boyfriend, albeit Initially a bit reluctantly. We were welcomed and given a twenty minute briefing by Juan who speaks excellent English. Doctors at Costa health centres to go on strike over calls for more staff. The public health service in Malaga and on the Costa del Sol is facing industrial action this autumn because of a simmering dispute over a lack of medical staff. Carthaginians and Romans Festival, Cartagena, Murcia (September 10th – 21st). Re-enactments and ancient military ceremonies: More than four thousand Cartagena people participate in these Festivals that began in 1990 to relive the events of the Second Punic War of more than 2,200 years ago. During the Feast days, all the heroic events that occurred in the period that began around the year 227 are revived, with the foundation of Qart Hadasht by Asdrúbal Janto El Hermoso and ending in the year 209 BC with the conquest of the city by the Roman legions, creating a magical environment. The program includes different daily theatrical performances that allow visitors to relive history in the majestic scenes of the city. During the Fiestas, visitors and locals travel through the city participating in the various recreational activities organized by the Carthaginians and the Romans, and accompany the Carthaginian troops and the Roman legions who disembark in the port and parade to the Carthagonova stadium, and is the site chosen by visitors to continue the party every night, visiting the craft market and enjoying the wide variety of specialties of the Cartagena cuisine.  In the camp, the festeros offer the public more than one hundred free activities among which we can highlight the Aspar Tests with playful activities for children offered by the Carthaginian Council and the Feriae Latino with representations and typical Roman meals offered by the Roman Senate.
