Gas Man Warning

Be on the look out for a blue Renault Megane, registration 6016 HWF. The men in this car arrived at our house in the campo, we are about 3kms out of Torrox on the old Frigiliana road. One man insisted that we needed a butane gas certificate, when we told him that we did not need one he became very abusive and when I went to take photos of him and his car he became very aggressive before driving off in haste. We have reported this to the Guardia Civil in Torrox and given them photos of the car and man.

Sunglasses Lost – Prescription Ones

I lost a pair of sunglasses on Wednesday 15th in the Torrox Costa area, They were in a soft black pouch. They are prescription sunglasses so would be of no use to anyone else. If anyone has found them my Spanish number is 693498713.

Sunglasses Lost – Ray Bans

By chance has anybody in Torrox village come across a pair of black Ray Ban polarised sunglasses (men’s) in the last 10 days or so.I believe I lost them on Friday 10th June.

Recent Agua Fuerte warning

Just to be clear about this… The term “agua fuerte” simply translates as etching or even strong water. It is archaic term, and not precise a chemical description.

Mercadona’s widely used Bosque Verde brand of the product is clearly labelled “20% Hydrochloric Acid”.

All such strong acids should be handled with extreme caution: gloves, covered flesh, eye protection – as contributors have rightly described. In the UK, you would not find such a product on open sale in supermarkets.

What’s on – MotorBike Charity Event – Torrox Costa??

Does anyone have any up to date info on this weekends 10,000 motorbike charity event at Torrox/Torrox Costa?

I have seen the advertising poster and read a Spanish press release issued a couple of weeks ago but cannot find where the concert venues are (on Saturday I believe) or time/route of the parade on Sunday.

I would be most grateful for any further information.

What’s on-Lux Mundi Choir Concert

Sunday 19^th June – Concert by the “Touch of Class” choir & traditional English Tea. Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar invite you to join friends at the Centre for an evening of song and entertainment entitled “Around the World in Song”, performed by the choir which was founded in May 2014 and range in age from 5 to 75 plus years. They perform under the musical producer, director and choreographer Pauline Hulme. There will be a traditional English tea of scones, homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream and a drink.
