Warning – Scam Mails
I had an email yesterday from Endesa with a bill to me for 899 euros .. almost 10 times what I pay. I quickly realised all the information on it was completely wrong .. the contador number etc etc ..also Endesa don’t send online bills in that format. …and there was a “click here” request to see more … two hours later I received a phone call fro a guy in Spanish saying I had an urgent bill outstanding that needed immediate attention .. uh uh .. anyone EVER heard of Endesa ringing someone up .. I don’t think they even possess a phone !!! …. on the bank managers advice I’m off to the police with all the info including the tel. no. SO

Car Show in Torrox – Information Please
Can anyone give me some information on the car show in Torrox Costa this weekend, I was walking near the light house and there was a poster advertising it, I intended going back to find out dates, times and venue but was unable to return, any info. would be appreciated. Cheers, Dave J

What’s On – Trip to Almuñecar
The Phoenix Club are off to the Almunecar on Monday evening the 15th August to celebrate their Fiesta de la Virgen de Antigua. This is the Patron saint of Almuñécar and a week long party with fair ground, live music, dancing and much partying all night long. Supporting activities and events take place in and around Majuelo Park, Casa de Cultura as well as a beach volleyball competition near the Los Bajos beach bars.
This all comes to a head on the 15th with the statue of the Virgen being solemnly carried from the church down to the beach at La China. She is then sailed around the rocks of the Peñon, escorted by a small armada, to arrive back on land at Playa Peurta del Mar around 23:00. This then triggers a truly amazing firework display from the beach, castle, sea and all points of the compass! When this finishes everyone heads back to the feria to eat, drink & dance the night away.
The Firework display starts at 23.00 for an hour and then we return to the bus at half past midnight to come home.

New Rules for Blog
