Bree is Still Missing
Hi there,we would like to thank everyone who has been in touch with us.Spanish,British and also holiday makers in Torrox Park/El Pino area.
Unfortunately Bree is still missing and it has been 12 days now.
We live in Manzano Bajo campo near El Morche so it is more than likely she went further in to the campo.
Therefore we would like to make a further appeal especially to people living in the campo areas to please keep a lookout for her.
Bree is a very friendly 4year old medium /large dog,20 kilos and 50cm height to shoulder.
She has been clipped recently so her body is a light fawnish colour
Her head, back of legs and end of tail have been left uncut, hence are darker and shaggy.

When people look at adverts it is nice to know if the place in question is in your local aea without wasting money on phone calls to find if it is anywhere in a comfortable distance from you. So many adverts do not do this .Why? I will not ring up & waste money to find a place is nowhere within easy reach just to get a meal. Does anyone know of a garden centre that can provide quite mature trees deliver and possibly plant. We want to put up a line of conifers to eventually cut into a hedge as a windbreak for our garden, as the garden suffers a lot in the wind of the Winter.
We have found one but it is in Alhaurin El Grande and it is too far for delivery, we are in Torrox campo.

What’s on Jukebox Bandits
Hi folks, Jukebox Bandits are playing live tonight Friday 23rd September on the terrace at Restaurante Maria at the Hotel Balcon in Competa from 9.00pm.

Jukebox Bandits are a covers band consisting of Rod Jones on keyboards and Mitch France on acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, penny whistle and vocals.
They play an eclectic mix of pop, rock and folk standards from Britain, America, Ireland and Spain. From Dire Straits to The Dubliners, from Manu Chao to Jason Mraz. The music starts mellow (whilst people are eating), gradually picking up the tempo and culminating with the dance set including standards like Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl”, REM’s “Losing My Religion” and The Mavericks’ “Dance the Night Away”.
What’s on – Multi-cultural Night of Music and Dance
Sunday October 9, La Plaza, Canillas de Albaida
From 8.00pm Free entrance
As part of its Cultural week, the Ayuntamiento of Canillas de Albaida proudly presents the Fifth Night of Multi-cultural Music and Dance to be held in the Plaza (main square) in Canillas de Albaida on Sunday 9th October. Admission to the event is free but there will be opportunities to donate to Action for Animals local charity.
The idea behind the event is to create an evening of music originating from as many countries as possible and we have an International line up of performers for the night.
The first artists to perform will be local duo, Jukebox Bandits, comprising of Rod Jones and Mitch France. They will play a set of songs and tunes from around the World on electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin and keyboards, Jukebox Bandits and friends will also finish the night off with a lively set of music for dancing to.
Up next will be Grupo Bailar de Axarquia, led by Francey, a local dance teacher and they will perform a number of different dance styles accompanied by a guitarist.
Africa and The Netherlands will be well represented by Xenophone – African Percussion, 2 Africans and a Dutch couple performing a very exciting set of percussive pieces to include some African dancing, always a big hit at the Cultural Concert.
All the way from Yorkshire especially to perform at this concert, the Wild Geese will be playing 2 sets of music, mainly Celtic but with some rock and roll and novelty pieces on guitars, fiddle, whistle, bodhran, banjo and mandolin. The Wild Geese last played in the Plaza for the opening of the hotel almost 10 years ago.
Yanique and Patrick from Competa will play next, a mix of blues and contemporary songs on keyboards and guitar. Yanique is a singing teacher from the Netherlands who is relatively new to the area and Patrick is originally from Norwich in the UK and has lived and played here for many years.
Due to ill health Aire Flamenco will unfortunately not be able to perform as originally advertised, a replacement is currently being located.
Biddies que Bailan (all local dancers) will then dance an Irish reel on stage.
This will be followed by a ceilidh where you the audience have a chance to take part with a caller who will tell you exactly what to do.
Last year the concert had to be postponed for several days due to rain, hopefully that won’t happen again this year as it is a bit earlier. This unique multi-cultural night of music had been a huge success in previous years, please come along and make sure it is just as successful again this year.
There will be an opportunity to donate to Action for Animals, a local charitiy, please give generously to help our furry friends in need.
