We didn’t actually manage to get a chair ( we thought we had it sorted out but the person who was selling it sadly changed their mind but tracked down a local shop who will deliver quickly at less than €300.
If anyone is interested we hope to be giving it a test run later in the week so call me and I will let you know how good it is.
I am pleased say that my patient is now home safely and enjoying home cooked food and looking forward to Christmas

Hi, I’m currently banking with Sabadell in Madrid but now have a property in Torrox. Man with Red Eyes, 1938 LS Lowry is one of Britain’s most popular artists – and yet the very familiarity of his work has stopped us looking as closely as we should at this extraordinary artist.
Coming from The Mill, 1930 He was a painter not only of the mills al the industrial north-west but also perhaps the one of the great painters of the human condition himself – the TS Eliot of modern British Art and, perhaps we could even claim him as our very own van Gogh! Come along and make up your own mind.
About Michael Howard
Michael is President of Bolton NADFAS and until recently he was the Course Leader of the School of the History of Art and Design at the Manchester Metropolitan University, where he taught both academic and studio-based students. He is a practising artist, a painter, sculptor, printmaker and ceramicist.

He has exhibited at the Royal Academy; his work is represented in the Manchester Art Gallery and in many private collections in the UK and abroad.
He and his wife the painter Ghislaine Howard live in Glossop Derbyshire close to Lowry’s home. Michael has written the major text on LS. Lowry and has curated a number of exhibitions including Lowry’s industrial Landscape of 1953 at the Lowry December 2007-May 2008.
Michael has published widely on European art ot the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, mostly on the impressionists. His other books include L S. Lowry: A Visionary Artist, (He also worked on the film on the artist that acts as an introduction to the artist’s life and work at the Lowry Centre), He was commissioned to write a personal guide to the Manchester Art Gallery.
Michael represented the UK at the 2006 Varna Biennale and has featured on television and radio many times and in 2004 he and Ghislaine worked on the film Degas and the Dance which has received many awards including one of the prestigious Peabody awards.

What’s on- Coral Coraxalia Open Doors Rehearsal and Concert
Thursday 15 December 6.30 p.m.
Local choir CoraXalia is having an “open doors” for everyone rehearsal on Thursday December 15th 6.30 p.m. at the Cultural Centre (Manoas House) in La Viñuela. This will be an inter-active experience between the public and the choir, to learn how choral music is put together and then we will put on a performance. The Town Council has kindly offered, hot chocolate (or coffee) with cake and mantecados afterwards. Everyone welcome!

Approaching from Puente Don Manuel, take A7205 which bypasses Viñuela village and right at the end of the village at the new roundabout, you’ll see a white single storey building on the right and nearby is an earth parking area.
What’s on-Live Music in Art Gallery Luz de la Vida in Competa
Saturday 17th of December English singersongwriter Keith James comes to the Authentic and lovely space of the Gallery Luz de la Vida in Competa. At 6:30pm Keith gives an informal bio-doc talk before playing his music. Come and listen how Keith is using his warm voice to bring the tender songs. He loves the acoustics in this Spanish room and looks forward to bring his talents to the audience. While listening to his songs, you can also see all the ‘Squares’ of art made by International professional artists.

New Rules for Blog
The rules for Blogs have changed and it now means that I could face a fine if I publish any negative reviews of any person or company – even though it may be true or half true.
