The Consortium is reinforcing the bus connection between Rincón de la Victoria and Vélez-Málaga from Monday: {Trans, summary}

Alhaurín de la Torre puts 46 stalls from the Wednesday market up for tender:
– The Alhaurín de la Torre Town Hall has launched the new awarding of permits for the municipal Wednesday market stalls, following the expiration of the fifteen-year permits granted by the local government board in 2011.
– The local government board has approved the process and the regulatory bases governing it. Additionally, it has set the location of the market at El Limón Avenue, where it has been held since 2018, when it was moved from the fairground due to damage caused by rains and subsequent works.

Fire engulfs Hitler’s mountaintop Eagle’s Nest retreat:
– Adolf Hitler’s Alpine mountain retreat, known as the Eagle’s Nest, was engulfed in flames on Friday night while police arrested a 33-year-old male suspect. The residence, called the Kehlsteinhaus, is above the town of Berchtesgaden. It was one of several buildings in the area used by the Nazi dictator and his entourage during World War Two.

‘Rhino tranq’, the new zombie drug- this is the veterinary drug more potent than fentanyl that is wreaking havoc in the US & UK: {Trans, summary}
– Medetomidine, a non-opioid veterinary sedative known on the streets as “rhino tranq”, “mede” or “dex”, is an increasingly dangerous addition to the illicit drug supply in the US and UK. Originally used to sedate animals, it has been detected in drug samples in 46 US states and territories. US samples containing the drug rose from 247 in 2023 to 8,233 in 2025.
– Medetomidine is reportedly 100 to 300 times more potent than xylazine, another non-opioid veterinary sedative that entered the illicit drugs scene a decade ago. Medetomidine has been detected in street drugs, mixed with heroin, fentanyl and/or cocaine, and has appeared in counterfeit diazepam and codeine tablets and THC vape products.
– Its effects include profound, prolonged sedation, confusion, vomiting, rapid heartbeat and dangerous blood pressure spikes. Overdoses can cause unconsciousness, severe skin damage and potentially fatal withdrawal, sometimes requiring intensive care. Combining it with opioids, alcohol, benzodiazepines or other depressants can be particularly lethal. Naloxone (Narcan) can reverse an opioid overdose, but it does not reverse medetomidine.
– The drug has reached the UK. Scottish authorities detected it in heroin samples, while Greater Manchester issued warnings about potentially fatal sedation from mixing it with ketamine. A man commits suicide in the street in Seville slicing his own throat after stealing a knife from a fish shop: {Trans, summary}
– A man died Thursday morning after slicing his own throat with a knife in the middle of Luis Montoto Street, according to police sources. The incident, which occurred in a busy area of the capital in front of several witnesses, forced the temporary closure of the street.

As ABC reported this morning, the man, in his early forties, allegedly stole a knife from a fish shop in the area, which was open and had two employees working, who tried to stop him from taking it.
