The fiesta will not take place this year, the exhibition is worth a look, and for those who knew Jeff Mills, his for 2007 is worth seeing. Very different from the others. But then he was from “the valleys”, he decided to live in Torrox because it reminded him of them. Christine, Torrox, chris.fitzwaATgmailDOTcom

Travelling from Competa to Malaga Airport: Could I please share this with everyone to check their understanding of the current rules on travel. I am booked on a flight from Malaga Airport on Wednesday 2nd December. I’m based in the UK and have details of hospital appointments later this month. I realise that I am allowed out of the municipality to catch a flight. But I need to know if my neighbour can take me as he usually does. If so what documentation would he need to have to prove his reason for making this journey. I welcome your advice soonest. With Thanks. Dave & Brian, Competa

DoctorLaptop’s Tips #85
-Why are Google Chrome and Firefox web browsers getting updated every week? Yes, some of it is due to newly discovered security flaws, the typical excuse, but there really can’t be that many bugs in a professionally crafted product, can there? Actually, some of the constant updating is to create new opportunities for them to collect your data. As users increasingly attempt to protect their online privacy with VPNs, ad-blockers, anti-trackers and other such tools, Chrome and Firefox attempt to counter these measures as far as their own snooping is concerned, while allowing these tools to protect you from other snoops. You see, these big tech companies are never satisified with maintaining their huge profits, they constantly drive to increase profitibility. So they must constantly update their browsers, to bypass your attempts to keep them out, to ensure they can collect ever more of your data to sell.
-What can you do to avoid this mess? Here is a very simplified explanation. There are other browsers, that do respect their users desire for privacy. There are only three major “core” web browser programs in use today. Companies use these core programs as a base to build their browsers upon. The 2 most common are Chromium (used to create Google Chrome, Opera, Epic, Brave, etc.) and Gecko (used to create Firefox, Comodo IceDragon, Waterfox, Light, etc.). The third is Webkit, that is the base for Apple’s Safari browser. So if you like Chrome but want better security and less updating, try Brave or Epic browsers. If you prefer Firefox and want better security, try Comodo IceDragon.

Epic Browser (with free built-in VPN): https://www.epicbrowser.com/

-Tower PCs can now be replaced with new Mini-PCs for all but the most demanding uses, such as film editing and multi-track audio processing. Using the new, very small and cool running Flash drives instead of bulky HDD or SSD  drives, there is no longer a need for huge tower boxes and multiple fans. Everything can now be contained in a case similar in size to an IPTV box! All the connections are there to connect a USB mouse, a USB keyboard (you can use any language keyboard), plus some extra USB sockets, and at least 2 video outputs (VGA & 1 or 2 HDMIs, and possibly others). New style low voltage processors produce much less heat, so a tiny internal fan is sufficient to keep things cool.
I’ve been testing some of these mini PCs and am very impressed. While I was initially skeptical that the speed and performance on these mini PCs would meet my demanding usage needs, I am pleasantly suprised to find that a mini PC with only 4 Gb RAM and a 2.0GHz processor performs most tasks as well a tower PC with 8Gb RAM, standard HDD and a 2.8GHz processor, at about one third the price! To see what is available check Amazon for “mini PCs”.
-Search engines results in Google, Bing and even DuckDuckGo are now heavily filtered and manipulated. Doing online research is becoming ever more difficult as big tech tries to direct you to the info they want you to see. Their clients pay to get higher search rankings than others, so even if another site has more of the info you seek, you will be pushed to the paying client’s site.
I am currently using Searx as my primary search provider.
Try this English language, ad free, privacy respecting site for better results to your search terms:

Jupiter and Saturn Will Form a Rare ‘Double Planet’ in the Sky Before Christmas: Here’s how to see an incredible spectacle that hasn’t happened in 800 years.
For the first time since the middle ages, Jupiter and Saturn will become so close to each other in the night sky that they’ll appear as a brilliantly bright “double planet.” On the winter solstice, December 21, the solar system’s two largest planets will be visibly on top of each other in the western sky.
In what astronomers are calling a great conjunction, or the meeting of the two biggest worlds in our solar system, the planets will appear perfectly aligned from Earth’s perspective and only be 0.1 degrees apart (that’s only one-fifth the diameter of the moon). The last time Jupiter and Saturn appeared this close was in 1623, just 14 years after Galileo made his first telescope and discovered the moons of Jupiter.
The true solar system alignment of these two gas giants occurred a few weeks ago, but from Earth’s perspective as it quickly orbits the sun, Jupiter and Saturn will appear to inch closer and closer together over the coming weeks. If you take your telescope out early, the planets are already close together and setting later in the night, so you’ll have ample opportunities to track their progress.
The best time to view the spectacle on December 21 will be around an hour after sunset, right near the constellation Capricorn. PHOTO:CDN

Boxing News: Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. results in an eight-round draw in their highly anticipated exhibition match at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
It was a much more effective showing from Tyson than Jones, who landed 37 of his 236 punch attempts (16 percent). Jones connected with 28 power strikes and nine jabs.
Still, the World Boxing Council celebrity judges ended up ruling it a draw. As it turns out, the purse for the bout was even as well. According to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, Tyson and Jones each earned a guaranteed $1 million from the fight. Clarification: Thank you all for your feedback.
I can only tell you what the immigration/Brexit supervisor told me.
Obviously you should have confidence in your own sources.
The girl I spoke to spoke a little English, as I’m sure all of them do, so no need for an interpreter.
She did say that there are appointments available in their office, so if you’re anxious about it, I would go there, rather then waiting for torre to come through. It’s very easy to find them.
If you need any help, do give me a call. It doesn’t cost anything, and I can tell you how I went about it.

MS Bespoke Joinery: Hi all, we have just had a spare bedroom makeover carried out by Mike Storey aka MS Bespoke Joinery. We had a series of Castilian doored wardrobes which made the bedroom really quite dark , along with a large bed taking all the space up in the bedroom. Mike manufactured a new set of wardrobes along with a pull down double bed thus leaving the room with a lot of space. Mike listened to our requirements and really delivered the goods. He removed the old wardrobes with minimum fuss, and meticulously installed the new bespoke furniture including a full size pull down double bed. His attention to detail is impeccable and its a pleasure to see work carried out by a craftsman, nothing was to much trouble he even fitted a small section of plaster coving. We can’t sing his praises highly enough. He can be found on  https://www.msbespokejoinery.com/

IPTV News- EU Commission Calls For Substantial Law Enforcement Boost to Fight Piracy: Recent actions to tackle unlicensed IPTV providers, resellers and related infrastructure reveal that law enforcement entities are able to pool resources to shut down huge operations. But according to the EU Commission, more needs to be done.
“The capacity of law enforcement authorities has to be substantially strengthened. Counterfeiting and piracy must become a higher priority,” the Commission notes, urging Member States and the European Council to include IP crime among the priorities for the next EU Policy Cycle. Fast spreading bird flu puts EU poultry industry on edge: A highly contagious and deadly form of avian influenza is spreading rapidly in Europe, putting the poultry industry on alert with previous outbreaks in mind that saw tens of millions of birds culled and significant economic losses.
The disease, commonly called bird flu, has been found in France, the Netherlands, Germany, Britain, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden and, for the first time this week in Croatia, Slovenia and Poland, after severely hitting Russia, Kazakhstan and Israel.
The vast majority of cases are in migrating wild birds but outbreaks have been reported on farms, leading to the death or culling of at least 1.6 million chickens and ducks so far around the region.
In the Netherlands, Europe’s largest exporter of chicken meat and eggs, nearly 500,000 chickens died or were culled due to the virus this autumn, and over 900,000 hens died on one single farm in Poland this week, the countries’ ministries said.
Belgium has confirmed an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N5 bird flu on a poultry farm, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) said on Friday.
The outbreak, which occurred in the western town of Menen near the border with France, killed 600 birds and led to the destruction of the other 151,000 birds in the flock, the OIE said in a website alert.

Malaga Christmas lights were turned on Friday, with little advance notice to avoid crowds: The decoration which has been chosen for Calle Larios is the same as last year, the fabulous Christmas forest. More than 100 streets in Malaga city centre and important areas such as the main entrances to the city will have Christmas lights. There will be no light and music shows three times a day as there have been in previous years. This is to prevent crowds of people gathering in Calle Larios. There will, however, be Christmas songs played in the street throughout the evening.
The City Council has asked that people not gather in the area. Full article:

Van Morrison & Eric Clapton Announce Controversial Anti-Lockdown Song ‘Stand and Deliver’: Van Morrison has announced the release of another anti-lockdown song. A collaboration with Eric Clapton, “Stand and Deliver” arrives on December 4th and will support Morrison’s Save Live Music campaign. The track was penned by Morrison and performed by Clapton.
Morrison’s “Stand and Deliver” follows three previously released songs he’s written against the worldwide lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19. With “Born to Be Free,” “As I Walked Out” and “No More Lockdown” Morrison accused the U.K. government of “taking our freedom.”
His trio of songs has drawn criticism, including from Northern Ireland’s health minister Robin Swann, who referred to the songs as “dangerous.”As Rolling Stone reported, Morrison has for decades voiced grievances through song.
Per Variety, proceeds from “Stand and Deliver” will benefit Morrison’s Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund, which supports musicians who have suffered financial difficulties during the global pandemic.
“There are many of us who support Van and his endeavors to save live music; he is an inspiration,” Clapton said in a statement via Variety. “We must stand up and be counted because we need to find a way out of this mess. The alternative is not worth thinking about. Live music might never recover.”
“Eric’s recording is fantastic and will clearly resonate with many who share our frustrations,” Morrison said in a statement via Save Live Music. Source: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/van-morrison-eric-clapton-anti-lockdown-song-stand-and-deliver-1095843/
Some social-media users were none-too-pleased with the anti-lockdown song, with many saying it’s dangerous to send that message with COVID-19 infections on the rise almost uniformly around the world. In fact, Clapton and Van Morrison were widely condemned on Twitter, in some quite viscious posts, even bringing up an unfortunate Clapton quote from the 70’s he has long since apologized for, and some notorious Van Morrison pub-talk quotes, making the pair out to be right wing wacko Covid deniers. Recommendations & Requests

Recommendation, Jeweller: Some weeks ago I asked if anyone could suggest a manufacturing jeweller and received a couple of replies for jewellers in the Nerja area. I have since found a jeweller in the Caleta de Velez area which is much more convenient for me. He has reset a couple of diamond rings for me, transforming them from quite old fashioned settings to exceptionally nice pieces which I’m very happy to wear. The workmanship was excellent, the prices were very fair and he is very honest. I can really recommend him to the people who asked me to let them know if I found anyone. His phone number is 652531799. Jan, Caleta de Velez

Exchanging green resident card for TIE: Here is more information about exchanging your green paper residents card, although all official sources say is not obligatory.
The gov.uk link below gives all the information as to how to apply if you wish, plus links to the online police station appointment system.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/residency-requirements-in-spain#uk-nationals-who-registered-before-6-july-2020
UK nationals who registered before 6 July 2020If you registered for residency before 6 July 2020 and have a green paper residence certificate, you do not need to take action. Your green certificate (A4 or credit card-sized) will remain valid proof of your residence and of your rights under the Withdrawal Agreement after 31 December 2020.You may exchange it for the new TIE if you want to. The Spanish government advises the TIE is more durable and may simplify some administrative processes. If you want to exchange your green paper certificate for the TIE there is no deadline for doing so. The process will not change from 1 January 2021.
https://www.lamoncloa.gob.es/lang/en/brexit/howtoprepare/Paginas/190108residence.aspx
It is not mandatory to apply for the new residence document, but it is important to remember that you must have a registration certificate (or family card of a Union citizen, in the case of family members) that documents your situation.
I did exchange mine but the appointments to apply and then collect it were very hard to get at Velez. I started the procedure in mid July, waiting 6 weeks for the initial appointment and finally picking the card up in early October. Currently, friends who have been trying to get appointments have found there are none available at Velez police station.
Barbara, Torrox, wickseyb at hotmail dot com

TIE Card: I read with interest Pamelas’ letter on Digame this morning stating that, according to a functionary in Malaga, it is obligatory to obtain a TIE card. This is not the case if they are already the holder of a Permanent Residency card or A4 Green certificate, only for new applicants.
I am not sure whether you publish third party links, but this subject is covered extensively on the CAB website
https://www.citizensadvice.org.es/the-procedure-for-the-tie-foreigners-id-card-application/
It is also covered on the UK government website:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-spain#visas-and-residency
I feel that the information given in good faith by Pamela needs to be corrected, as many people may be panicked into taking action that is unnecessary at this time.
Thanks and best wishes,
Steve ( Caleta de Velez )

TIE- Advice and Warning: Jacky in Nerja’s foreigners office has produced a step-by-step guide to apply for the TIE – which all residents from the UK will need to do following Brexit. I am happy to email this pdf document to you or you can download on the Nerja web page.
I have noticed an increasing number of adverts for people offering to do this for you – they CAN’T! You have to present in person so they can take your finger prints, both to apply for the card and again to collect it. They will NOT let anyone in to act as a translator for you either. I know this from personal experience both at Malaga and Velez Malaga.
Dawn, Nerja (towellfamily at Hotmail . com)

TIE Card: Contrary to Pamela’s post today, I was listening to Myra from the Citizens Advice Bureau on Talk Radio this lunch time and she clearly stated that it is NOT obligatory to change to a TIE card, it is OPTIONAL. A lady rang in and asked if a friend of hers, who is ninety and has lived here forty years needed to change her green Residencia to a TIE card, the answer was no. Often Myra knows things that the Police and the British Consul do not, in fact on the subject of Brexit she had to correct the Consul at one of his presentations. Different Police stations interpret these rules differently. They are not always fully informed. For the truth always go to Citizens Advice Bureau as advised by Nathan in Digamextra. Confusing I know, its no wonder that everybody has a different tale to tell and rumours abound. Carole Hart, El Morche, carolemhartATyahooD0Tcom

TIE: In case the post by Pamela yesterday should provoke panic, it should be pointed out that according to several reputable sources, we have until at least summer next year to exchange our permanent green card/A4 residence papers for the new TIE. I agree that the process is straightforward; the difficulty is getting an appointment at Torre del Mar police station! I have been trying since August, and despite being told that they would be available online on about the 1st and 15th of month, this does not seem to be the case for private individuals. Personally I am not happy about trekking into Málaga giving the Covid situation, nor do I see why I should have to pay a gestor 60+€ to get me an appointment in Torre del Mar. One can only assume that from January 1st, when these TIE’s were originally going to start to be issued, then appointments will be available at Torre del Mar as they are in every other part of Málaga province including Antequera, Marbella, Fuengirola, Ronda etc etc. Wendy, Sedella

MOONETTE Organic & Aromatic Skincare for 40+
We are a Torrox-based company specialising in the creation of formulae which help prevent premature skin ageing
We are committed to making effective products at affordable prices
New products coming soon – Super Lip Balm & Bulgarian Rose Face Cleanser
As our skin is the first layer of our defence against microbial infections, ultraviolet radiation and environmental contamination it plays a vital role in our health. As we grow older, however, our skin becomes thinner, wrinkled, and more sensitive; hence it requires the use of treatments containing specific ingredients to the care of treating mature skin.
Recognising this need we have created a range of formulae which help slow down the ageing process by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, improving facial complexion and eliminating blemishes.
At Moonette, we are passionate about health, beauty and plants. Your skin will benefit from the properties of botanic essential oils combined with a selection of nutrients for deep hydration, cell revitalization and antioxidant effect, all sourced from the finest natural ingredients with gorgeous fragrances.
Naturally, we care about our planet and feel the need to help reduce the sheer volumes of plastics waste that are generated daily around the globe. Presently, we are minimizing the usage of plastic materials in our production while seeking alternative forms of packaging. To help reduce pollution we are asking all local customers to recycle or reuse their Moonette skincare containers, and offering a small discount on future purchases to customers recycling containers.

Recommendations & Requests

Windscribe VPN Recommendation (and huge Beige Friday sale info, only $29/yr): Hi Naythan, I recently started using the services of one of your sponsors and was so impressed I felt moved to share my positive experience. You may include this in Digamextra if you so wish. Furthermore, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for all you do in keeping us all informed and up to date. Well done. Keep up the good work. So here is my op-ed.
Windscribe Recommendation-
I am a Canadian who spends 6 months a year in Frigiliana. Not being the most tech savvy person I was reluctant to try their service in the past not knowing how much it would cost, whether I would have to buy hardware and how difficult the setup would be. In spite of my misgivings I checked out their website which was very well laid out and simple to understand. So within 5 minutes I was all setup and connected to a Canadian VPN at no charge. Brilliant! Additionally, they can connect you to VPNs all over the world. Then, just recently, I availed myself of a Black Friday special which gave me unlimited use for 2 years for a most reasonable price. Furthermore their package included an ad blocking/ security service. In the past I have used several different ad blockers, all of which were pretty useless. And while the jury is still out, Windscribe’s ad blocker seems to be doing the job. So, all in all, I am extremely pleased with their service. As the old saying goes, “it does what it says on the tin”.
Andrew Clarke, Frigiliana, andrew-clarkeATshawD0Tca (Windscribe is a DigameXtra sponsor. I receive a significant donation when you use this link to purchase their VPN service. Get Windscribe Now.) Get Windscribe Pro VPN for the ridiculously low price of $29 per year TODAY ONLY on “Beige Friday”, reg. $49 per year. If you’ve ever considered securing your internet with a proper VPN, today is the day to do it! This discounted price is called the “Beige Friday Sale” and will be applied when you get to the check-out payment screen. Confirm the discount is being applied before you pay, and remember the time difference, Windscribe is in Canada.

Residencia & TIE Renewal Info: Just a heads up-
I was at the policia in Malaga yesterday to renew my residencia. While I was there I thought to ask the supervisor if it was advisable to apply for the TIE, even if one had been here more that five years, which is what I had been led to believe, and she said- it’s is not only advisable it is OBLIGATORY!!!! So there you are!
It’s very easy to do and the people are sooo nice and very helpful. It’s easy to get to and they have appointments available, I was told.
If you want any more Information, what papers you need, how to access them etc. do give me a call. I am an interpreter, so if you need me to go with you, I’d be pleased to help. I’ll even drive you there ! I do charge, but it is a reasonable, flat fee. But, of course, any advice over the phone is freeeee !

London and Liverpool move to Tier 2 but Manchester, Hull, Newcastle, Birmingham and Wolverhampton face a severe Tier 3 lockdown: The decision to save London from Tier 3 will be a relief to many in the hospitality industry who will be able to reopen when the current national lockdown ends on Dec. 2nd.
But the Prime Minister has chosen to impose Tier 3 on five English cities and all of Kent, which is predicted to put a wrecking ball through pubs, restaurants and clubs now forced to close or only offer takeaway. Millions of people will also be banned from socialise indoors or outdoors with any other households apart from five days over Christmas.
Only rural pockets of East Anglia, Cumbria and Cornwall are expected to be allowed into Tier 1, which allows socialising inside homes and pubs. IMAGE:Daily Mail. Full article: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/london-and-liverpool-go-into-tier-2/ar-BB1bnNAo

BitCoin Loses 9% After Wednesday’s 3 Year High Spike (Pump & Dump?): Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase said on Thursday its retail and professional-focused platforms were hit by tech problems, with users reporting difficulty trading as bitcoin plunged towards its biggest one-day drop since September.

The Board proposes that bars open until nine at night in Andalusia after the December bridge (long weekend Dec 5-8): {Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es}
The vice president of the Board and Minister of Tourism, Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration, Juan Marín , has raised this Tuesday the possibility of non-essential activities, such as the hospitality or trade sectors , whose opening is currently limited until 18.00 hours, may be changed, after the December bridge, until 20.00 or 21.00 .
Marín has stated that “probably” these businesses can open until 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. based on the “following measures” adopted by the Andalusian government to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Spanish government proposes limiting Christmas meetings to six people, 1am curfew on New Year’s Eve: The measures are included in a draft public health document being prepared ahead of the upcoming holiday season.
Although the document does not mention whether movement between regions will be restricted, it proposes the use of measures that have been shown to be effective at containing contagions, such as “limiting travel.” In other words, the proposal is limited to recommending that citizens avoid all “non-essential travel.” This means that traveling to a different city or region will depend on the rules that have been introduced by the respective regional government. Bitcoin climbs towards all-time high after topping $19,000: The world’s most popular cryptocurrency was last up 4.8% at $19,225, just shy of its all-time record of $19,666 hit in December 2017. Bitcoin has gained around 25% in the last two weeks alone, and is up around 160% this year.
Gold has shed 3.6% this month, versus bitcoin’s 40% gain.
Bullish investors cited expectations that bitcoin would achieve mass use as a means of payment – something it has so far failed to do – as a reason for the divergence. Mainstream companies such as PayPal have embraced cryptocurrencies, sparking hopes bitcoin would become widely used and thus more valuable. Andalusia adds 1,455 coronavirus infections, the lowest figure since the beginning of October: {Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es} Updated: 23/11/2020 18:18
Andalusia has added 1,455 new infections this Monday coronavirus . It is the lowest figure that has been registered in the community since last October 12, a month and a half ago. Although the data must be taken with caution since the data on Mondays tend to be lower than the rest of the week, this figure, below 1,500 infections , seems to confirm that the measures imposed by the Board are already having an effect.
Thus, according to data from the Ministry of Health, most infections have occurred again in Seville, Granada and Cádiz , but with an important nuance. Neither of the two provinces exceed 500 infections this Monday . Seville has added 416 new cases, Granada and Cádiz, 342 each.
Behind are Malaga, with 106 ; Jaén, with 101; Almería, with 75; Huelva, with 55; and Córdoba, with only 18.
Product of the decrease in infections that Andalusia has registered in recent days is the reduction in hospital pressure in the community. Thus, since yesterday 87 people have needed medical assistance, six of them in the ICU. To put this data into context, until last week that figure used to exceed 300.
In hospitals, meanwhile, Andalusia has added the fifth consecutive day reducing patients in the ICU and the total of those admitted for coronavirus is 2,785, almost 700 less than at the peak of the second wave.
The most negative side is one more day in the deaths from coronavirus. As indicated by the Junta, in Andalusia 37 people have died this Monday. It is logical, since these deaths correspond to the high numbers of infections from weeks ago and would confirm that the community is already in the decline of the second wave of the coronavirus. Which travellers must show negative Covid-19 test on arrival in Spain?: Updated 23 November 2020, 12:35 CET+01:00
Spain has brought in new rules requiring travellers arriving in Spain by air or sea from countries deemed high risk to prove they have tested negative, here’s a look at the rules and who they apply to. Details of the new rules are published in Spain’s Official State Gazette (BOE) and come into force on November 23rd. (Spanish- https://www.boe.es/boe/dias/2020/11/12/pdfs/BOE-A-2020-14049.pdf)
The new rules come into force on November 23rd except in the Canary Islands where anyone arriving on the islands from November 14th will have to show a negative test result on check-in. Rogue Microsoft Edge Web Browser Extensions Infiltrate The Microsoft Store: Microsoft had to remove malicious extensions from its Edge extensions store in May, and it appears that the company had to remove additional extensions this month.
According to the information, users of Edge complained when they started to notice that searches were redirected when they used the Microsoft Edge browser.
It turned out that rogue extensions were responsible for that. All of these extensions were hosted on the official Microsoft Store; they used names of popular services and programs, e.g. NordVPN, Adguard VPN or The Great Suspender to lure users into installing the extensions.
Microsoft pulled the fake extensions from its web store and users who installed these in Edge will have them disabled on the next start of the browser automatically.
If you use Edge, and have noticed that strange websites appear when you click on links or do searches, you may have one of the rogue extensions. Rather than try to figure out which extension is to blame, just update Edge. Tennis News- Medvedev triumphs over Thiem at ATP Finals: Daniil Medvedev, who was “destroyed” by Dominic Thiem nine years ago at a junior tennis event in Umag, Croatia, an encounter that over time served to forge his character and for which on Sunday he took revenge on the US Open champion at the ATP Final, downing the Austrian in a 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-4 comeback triumph.
With his unbreakable defense and his orthodox play, albeit implementing a change-up in style in the second set that seemed to throw Thiem off, No. 4 ranked Medvedev won back the title that his Russian compatriot Nikolay Davydenko had won in 2009, notching the most important win of his career and leaving Thiem without the crown for the second year in a row.

Restrictions in Andalucía to continue until 10 December: The current restrictions in force in Andalucía to curb the spread of Covid-19 will remain basically unchanged until 10 December, although customers will now be able to pick up takeaways from bars and restaurants until 9.30pm.
The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, announced on Sunday that movement between municipalities will remain restricted to essential journeys (for work, education, appointments, etc.) throughout the region.
The night curfew will also remain as it is – 10pm to 7am.
Non-essential businesses will still have to close at 6pm although customers will be able to pick up takeaways from bars and restaurants until 9.30pm.
Another change is that shops will be able to sell toys until 8pm.

The new Spanish bank account fees you need to know about (and how to avoid them): Over the course of this year, Spain’s main banks have decided to toughen the conditions to access their so-called ‘free accounts’ and increase the fees for account holders who don’t meet the new requirements.
In simple terms, it’s a loyalty scheme that rewards the banks’ most active users by not charging them extra, while increasing commissions for those who aren’t considered an asset to these financial entities.
As unfair as this may seem, most of Spain’s big banks are on board with it: Santander, La Caixa, Bankia, BBVA, Bankinter, Sabadell, Unicaja, Abanca.
We’ll now go over what each of these financial entities is now charging for and how to sidestep these extra fees.

DigameXtra News Alert- Coronavirus: Andalucia remains closed until December 10

DigameXtra News Alert- Coronavirus: Andalucia remains closed until December 10 with the aim of opening mobility at Christmas: {Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es} Updated: 11/22/2020 15: 39h
As two Sundays ago, the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno , appeared this afternoon before the media to announce the measures and restrictions that will be applied in the community in the coming weeks in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite the drop in infections, as well as hospitalizations and deaths due to Covid registered this weekend, the Andalusian Executive has decided to extend the measures applied from October 30 to December 10.
Thus, the perimeter closure of Andalusia and all its municipalities is maintained until December 10 and the curfew will remain as it is until now (10 pm-7 am).
The main novelty of the announcement is the slight change in hours in the hospitality industry for collection services (until 9:30 p.m.) and businesses dedicated to the toy sector (until 8:00 p.m.).
Regarding the special situation of the province of Granada, the Andalusian president has reported that in the health district Granada South the total ban is lifted and the opening will be allowed until 6 pm . The districts of Granada, Metropolitano and Granada Nordeste will continue with the same restrictions as until now.
In addition, it has been announced that from now on the be administered pneumococcal vaccine will to the population older than 60 years, and not 65 as usual.
Juanma Moreno’s intervention took place after a brief meeting with the committee of experts of the Junta de Andalucía, “a group in which there are health experts and also economic analysts,” the president recalled.
“Crucial moments”
“We are living crucial moments, the right thing to do is to try to find a balance between saving all possible lives and all possible businesses,” Moreno began his speech, using graphs to explain the decline seen in recent days in the number of hospitalizations.
“Does it mean that we are defeating the coronavirus? Not much less, ”the Andalusian leader insisted, while acknowledging that the measures imposed on October 30 are serving to contain the curve, considering the peak of the second wave of the coronavirus has been overcome.
«The only vaccine that we have right now is our head, our commitment, our individual and collective involvement. Andalusia has shown a great sense of responsibility so far. Let’s keep doing it, ”urged the president.
It should be remembered that since the beginning of the pandemic there have been 217,037 cases of coronavirus in the region and 3,617 people have lost their lives (345 in the last week), with 99,574 patients who have overcome the disease, with 2,265 in the last day. Andalusia stabilizes its coronavirus infections at around 3,000 pending more restrictions: {Translated from https://seville.abc.es}
Andalusia has added 3,424 coronavirus infections this Saturday. They are almost the same as yesterday (3,673) and the day before (3,296). The community seems to have entered its floor of daily cases around 3,000 , which represents a decrease to almost half of a few weeks ago, when more than 5,500 daily were added.
The decline in cases is undeniable but doubts are now being cast on whether it is enough to take pressure off the health system. It seems so since Andalusia has dropped this Saturday for the first time in a month from the 3,000 hospitalized by coronavirus. In addition, those admitted to the ICU have also been fewer for days.
Seville and Granada continue to be the provinces where the most cases of Covid-19 are reported. They are 669 and 678 respectively. Cádiz follows closely, a province that although during the summer and the first part of autumn had very few cases, it has been in the first places in the number of for weeks daily infections. This Saturday they have added 550 new infected. Behind is Jaén (+396); Malaga (+378); Almeria (+304); and Huelva (+196).
As for the dead, Andalusia has added another 50 this Saturday, bringing the total number of fatalities from the pandemic in the community to 3,599. The highest figures are in the provinces that have registered the most infections in the previous weeks . They are Sevilla (+16 dead); Granada (+10); Cordoba (+7); Cádiz (+6); Malaga (+5); and Almería (+2).
The positive note of the day is put by the recovered, which are 2,708 since yesterday. The community adds more than 2,000 people cured of coronavirus for days, so that the list of Andalusians who have already overcome the disease is 97,309 already, close to one hundred thousand. Costa councils to use funds from Christmas budgets to offset the effects of the pandemic: The Three Kings will still bring gifts to children in Spain in the early hours of 6 January, but for the first time there will be no parades in the 103 municipalities of Malaga province during the evening before. The Covid-19 restrictions mean that these traditional processions can’t take place, so the councils are now planning to use the money they would normally have spent on them on measures to alleviate the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic instead.

Why You May Want To Think Twice Before Using Cloud Services For Your Business: {by Naythan} Big tech is pushing hard for all businesses to store their data on cloud based storage services. But is that really a good idea? Many prosperous businesses are successful because they have a market advantage of some sort- a unique recipe, design, proceedure, exclusive client lists, etc. Such info is valuable and must be kept private to maintain the market advantage.
The cloud is not a good place to keep secrets. There are actually many weaknesses.
One is they are vulnerable to hackers and corrupt employees who can access your data. Another is the cloud service provider themselves. Do they deserve to be trusted? If history is any indicator the answer is no. Amazon offered cloud storage to clients selling items on the Amazon platform. Amazon was later caught mining their clients data, that in turn was used to develop Amazon branded products to directly compete with their clients! https://www.wsj.com/articles/amazon-scooped-up-data-from-its-own-sellers-to-launch-competing-products-11587650015
These cloud services also use third party contractors to perform some of their business operations. These contractors also have access to your data. So when you trust your cloud services provider, you are also trusting a whole bunch of other companies as well, giving your data an even wider set of possible observers. https://www.information-age.com/reducing-threats-posed-third-party-contractors-123468368/
Even Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, has expressed his not-so-flattering opinion, forecasting many “horrible problems” will derive from the use of cloud computing. He sees the lack of data control as a true concern and believes the problem will only spiral towards the worst as more and more resources are shared.
For a plain language explanation of all the different cloud data risks, of which there are quite a few, read this article: CLOUD COMPUTING SECURITY RISKS IN 2020, AND HOW TO AVOID THEM

It’s Not Only Computers In Short Supply- Now Waiting Lists to Buy an Appliance in Spain: The slowdown in production in China at the beginning of the year, and in other countries a few months later, when the coronavirus spread, together with the current restrictions, they have led to a decrease in the number of household appliances manufactured. This circumstance has been joined by an increase in the demand for this type of product due to the greater time we spend at home and the increase in household chores. The Covid-19 pandemic has consequently led to long waiting lists in Spanish shops for a customer to purchase a washing machine, refrigerator or dishwasher, among other electrical appliances of the so-called white line.
Although manufacturers and distributors hope that the problem will be resolved little by little and that a return to normalcy will be achieved at the end of the first quarter of 2021, the increase in purchases by the Black Friday and Christmas campaign may further exacerbate the problem. Currently, many appliances are out of stock and consumers must sign up for a waiting list and then keep their fingers crossed for the date promised from brands to marketers to be met.
