What’s On

Cookery Workshop at Casa Montes Negros: Join us for our Cookery Workshop at Casa Montes Negros near Trapiche, on Thursday 26th April, when we fire up the wood oven and cook a delicious menu. All the recipes can be made in a regular oven, and the workshop is suitable for both novices wanting to learn some great recipes and experienced cooks looking for new ideas or just a lovely day out with like minded foodies. We start at 10.30 and finish between 3.30 and 4.The workshop costs 30 euros, and includes all the ingredients, a delicious lunch in a stunning location and a folder of the recipes to take away. From there we take our own cars up to the farm, a further 10 minutes drive away. For those who prefer not to drive, you can book a lift to the meeting point and back for an extra 3 euros per person.

Choir recruiting: Do you like singing? Would you like to join a choir? We are inviting new singers to become members of the local, long-established choir, Coral Coraxalia under the leadership of Eusebio Pita. Great, friendly atmosphere, all nationalities, good repertoire, performances and concerts, social events, possible touring, etc. Rehearsals Thursdays 17.30 – 20.00 in the Casa Cultura on the main A7205 road at Viñuela village. From Torre Del Mar. From the shopping mall motorway Junction 272, take the A356 towards the mountains. At Junction KM38 at the end of the bridge,, turn right to Las Gómez, La Viñuela, A7205. Left at t-junction towards Viñuela. Go through the village of Las Gómez and on a right hand bend just after KM 2, you will see a new roundabout. On the left is a white single storey building where we rehearse ( La Casa Cultura) at 5.30 to 8.00. 10 mins. drive max.
Approaching from Puente Don Manuel, take A7205 which bypasses Viñuela village and right at the end of the village at the new roundabout, you’ll see a white single storey building on the right and nearby is an earth parking area. Ring and let us know if you are coming and we will bring some spare music.
IMPORTANT the name of our choir is “Coral Coraxalia”, not to be confused with a recently established different choir called “Coral International Axarquía”.
We have two concerts coming up in June, one in Granada and one in Loja. Come and listen to a rehearsal and if you like us, come and join us.

Wanted: Dog boarding. Is there anyone in the Competa area who takes in dogs for overnight stay. I am looking for accommodation for my recently adopted 2 dogs. I wish to take the dogs to someone who could care for them overnight and the following day.They would be collected the following evening. I wish to go for a daily trip and I cannot leave the dogs in the house with my 3 cats. Unfortunately the dogs are not cat friendly and need to be kept separate.. Wanted: Can anyone advise us on where we might find a replacement ‘speedo clock / facia ‘ for our 2006 Mercedes R320 car. Car Hire: Have been using car hire firms at Malaga airport for nearly 15 yrs, have at last found one never used before called Wiber who were a breath of fresh air, no insurance pressures, unbelievably polite, fast service to and from airport (3 mins) free second driver, full/ full petrol, returned full tank and was refunded 3 days later. The blog and it’s readership are growing, and I anticipate a big readership jump in the high-season. These updated rules are necessary to keep it manageable. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Send in your text & photos- The address for your submissions is digamextra@protonmail.com The Deadline is 4pm. 1 pic per item or event only. 3 For Sale items per day max. Include all sale items/pics for that day in single email.
Photos- Please name your photo files appropriately before sending them in. It is difficult for me to sort thru a my downloaded daily pic files if they all have names like “image001.jpg”. I won’t reject poorly named pics, but some cooperation here would save me a lot of time. JPEG or JPG format only.
Keep Submissions As Short As Possible- If you have more than a paragraph of text content just submit a short description and a link to a site where interested readers can find it. No reason for me to print what is already available with just 1 click of a link.
Re-Submissions- What’s On events may post once a week, Services Offered once a month. Sale items previously posted must wait 1 month before re-submitting, and the price must have been lowered by at least 20%.
Put your post header in the “about” line of the email- it is difficult to sort emails with 1 word headers.
Capital Letters – Please do not include any words which you have turned into all capital letters.
Bars, Bands, Restaurants Clubs & Charities – Please limit your entries to One per Week! I suggest you list your programme of events & send it Tue/ Wed for inclusion in the Thursday Issue. You will get better results if you give folks 2 or 3 days advance notice of an upcoming event so they can plan in advance.
Identification Information from Everyone – I will not publish your submission unless you have included your name and location. Posts for Services, Sales or Recommendations must also include contact information (phone number &/or email address).
Health Professionals- I will accept Ads for health professionals, therapies, medical treatments etc., ONLY if the person concerned provides a Licence Number to operate here in Spain, and name the issuing authority, in the text of the ad. You may offer a lecture on healing without credentials, but to offer healing as a service credentials are required.
Recommendations- I am accepting recommendations again, but only if submitter includes their own name, town and email! Anyone caught recommending themselves will be temporarily lose submission privileges.

Faulty Submissions: Incomplete submissions will be returned for correction. Resubmit full corrected submissions, returned submissions are deleted immediately from my Inbox.
