SPAIN
Business bankruptcies are skyrocketing in Spain– almost 20,000 in just three months, 5.1% more than a year ago, almost exclusively the self-employed as socialism crushes free enterprise: {Trans, summary}
– The total number of insolvency proceedings filed in the second quarter of 2026 in the Commercial Courts was 19,024, a figure that represents an increase of 5.1% compared to the same quarter of 2025. Data collected by the Statistics Service of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) indicate that the upward trend that began in the third quarter of 2020 has been maintained almost continuously since then.
– Bankruptcy filings by self-employed individuals were the only ones that decreased, falling by 10.8% compared to the previous year. All other filings, on the contrary, showed upward trends: those by non-entrepreneurial individuals increased by 5.9%, and those by legal entities by 4.6%, compared to the second quarter of 2025.
– Taking into account the total number of insolvency proceedings filed, Catalonia had the highest number, with 4,631, representing 24.3% of the total. It was followed by Madrid, with 3,033; Andalusia, with 2,891; and the Valencian Community, with 2,002. A website called ‘PSOE Archive’ has been launched to compile the corruption and crimes of the Sánchez government so that they “are not forgotten” before November 29th: {Trans, summary}
– The website, available at www.archivopsoe.com , presents from its homepage some of the figures and events it considers most representative of the Socialist president’s two terms in office. These include the conviction of former minister José Luis Ábalos, the migrant influx into Ceuta, the increase in illegal immigration, the consequences of the DANA storm in Valencia, the rise in public debt, and Spain’s decline in certain international corruption indicators. Each section includes additional information and references to the sources used.
– Another element of the website is a press archive that contrasts statements made by Pedro Sánchez and his ministers with subsequent government decisions. Among the selected examples are the changes in position regarding amnesty for Catalan separatist leaders, promises related to the commercial customs offices of Ceuta and Melilla, and government statements on squatting. The website also features a directory of political figures, allowing users to view profiles of Sánchez, Ábalos, Cerdán, Zapatero, Begoña Gómez, and other individuals connected to the controversies covered. The articles combine timelines, political background, court rulings, and news reports from various media outlets.
– The project leaders openly acknowledge their critical stance towards the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party). In the section explaining their methodology, they state that they do not aim to be politically neutral, although they maintain that they strive to distinguish between legally proven facts and accusations pending clarification. They also affirm that they prioritize court rulings, official gazettes, reports from public bodies, and procurement documentation before resorting to journalistic reports. Eight Years Of Sanchismo– The Great Scam Of “Progress”: {To read full article in English, visit the link provided, then change language using the language selector in the menu bar}
– In June 2018, a man appeared in La Moncloa promising to regenerate Spain, restore dignity to the institutions, end corruption, and lead us towards a glorious future.
His name was Pedro Sánchez.
He explained that he had come to save us.
He did not specify what.
Eight years later, many Spaniards are beginning to suspect that it would have been preferable if he had left us unsaved.
Because Spain has experienced during this time an extraordinary variety of calamities, absurdities, scandals, taxes, prohibitions and nonsense, all of them duly accompanied by government speeches assuring us that we have never been better off.
The merit is undeniable.
It is not easy to convince a citizen that they are prospering while they see their salary losing purchasing power, their child cannot rent a home, the Treasury collects ever-increasing amounts, and the country’s debt reaches figures that not even a science fiction fan would have dared to imagine.
But Sánchez is trying.
And when the numbers become uncomfortable, change the numbers.
When events contradict his discourse, he changes his discourse.
When promises get in the way, change your promises.
And when someone reminds him of what he said earlier, he accuses the reminder of being tainted by the far right.
That’s how you govern!
Pedro Sánchez has managed to perfect a truly admirable political style: personally attributing successes to himself, distributing the responsibilities for failures among his adversaries, and considering any attempt to hold him accountable an attack on democracy.
Because, apparently, democracy begins where his authority begins and ends where someone dares to contradict him.
Let’s see what has really happened during these eight years of such extraordinary “progress”.

75% of entrepreneurs regret having created their company in Spain: {Trans, summary}
– Spain fares very poorly in the latest analysis of the conditions entrepreneurs face when creating and developing their businesses. Data released by the US multinational Stripe, one of the world’s largest payment platforms that also provides digital financial services globally, places Spain last in several comparisons between major European economies and the United States.
– The most striking finding emerges when Stripe asks founders if, given the chance to start over today, they would again establish their company in the same country. In Spain, only 25% answer affirmatively. In other words, three out of every four entrepreneurs surveyed who founded their company in Spain would not repeat that decision. The Supreme Court puts a stop to Sánchez’s attempt to rig the election with the “grandchildren law” to stay in power: {Trans, summary}
– The Supreme Court has dealt two severe blows to the maneuvers promoted by Pedro Sánchez ‘s government aimed at altering the electoral register abroad. Through two separate rulings on precautionary measures, the High Court has demanded a halt to the indiscriminate incorporation of voters through an administrative instruction linked to the ” grandchildren law” drafted by Sofía Puente, sister of Transport Minister Óscar Puente, which eliminated essential legal requirements without having received the approval of the Spanish Parliament.
– The Supreme Court’s warning underscores the risk of a flawed electoral roll for overseas voters. The High Court cautions that allowing such practices compromises fundamental principles of a clean democratic process, such as truthfulness, accuracy, and transparency. COSTA DEL SOL
Crackdown on luxury watch theft gangs on the Costa del Sol; 34 arrested and more than half a million Euros worth of watches recovered: {Trans}
– A special operation by the National Police, carried out in close collaboration with the Italian State Police, has resulted in the arrest of 34 people belonging to itinerant criminal networks dedicated to the violent robbery of high-end watches in luxury tourist enclaves. The operation has focused much of its efforts on the province of Malaga, with a priority focus on Marbella and Estepona , as well as on the island of Ibiza.
– In total, the agents have managed to solve 28 robberies with violence attributed to eight organized groups, in addition to charging them with crimes of belonging to a criminal group, document forgery, receiving stolen goods and injuries.
– So far, six watches from renowned brands have been recovered, with individual valuations reaching over €450,000 in one case.
– The most notable incident in the province of Malaga took place at the end of July in Marbella , where four criminals violently assaulted a tourist right at the entrance of his own home to steal the luxury watch he was wearing on his wrist. The investigators followed the trail of the group to the neighbouring municipality of Estepona , where the agents proceeded to locate and arrest them. During the search of the property where they were hiding, the National Police managed to recover the watch stolen from the victim and the clothing used by the assailants during the robbery.
– The thieves had scouts (sometimes couples) who marked the victims on seafront promenades, restaurants and high-end nightlife venues in Marbella. Unlike other groups, these gangs employed brutal physical violence, systematically resorting to direct aggression with motorcycle helmets or the dangerous ‘mataleón’ technique (strangulation from behind until loss of consciousness) to seize the pieces. They used motorcycles and rental cars to quickly change vehicles and lose the patrols during their escape.
– In total, the police have seized the following items:
*5 vehicles (one car and four support motorcycles).
*12 Spanish and 2 Italian license plates that were manipulated or bent using adhesives.
*1 frequency inhibitor and various falsified documents.
– In addition to the Malaga cases, agents intercepted members of the network at Ibiza airport as they tried to flee with a hidden watch valued at 450,000 euros, and arrested other individuals involved after they stole pieces worth 50,000 and 155,000 euros. The National Police have confirmed that the operation remains open and further arrests are possible in the coming days. Source, Spanish:

CEUTA CRISIS
Vivas estimates there are 15,000 migrants in Ceuta and criticizes the fact that there have been “no” administrative returns: {Trans, summary}
– The president of Ceuta, Juan Vivas (PP) {pic}, stated this Monday that around 15,000 people remain in the city following the mass arrivals on July 30 and 31, and criticized the fact that, three months later, there has been “no return through administrative resolution” under the Immigration Law. In a press conference at the Autonomous Palace, Vivas lamented that Ceuta has still “not returned to normal” and maintained that the city continues to suffer the consequences of the massive influx of people.
– As he explained, the number of migrants remaining in the territory is an estimate, although he considers it to be “quite reliable” based on water consumption data.
Specifically, he pointed out that consumption recorded in September increased by 20% compared to the same month in 2025, an increase which, in his opinion, allows us to deduce that the population of Ceuta has grown “between 15,000 and 17,000 people”.
– The president criticized the Government Delegation for not providing an exact figure for the number of people still in the city, as well as information about their identities. “It is very serious that, three months after the invasion, we still don’t know the number of people remaining in Ceuta,” he stated, before demanding that this situation be resolved “immediately.”
– Regarding returns, Vivas acknowledged that departures have occurred, but clarified that, according to his data, all were either voluntary or the result of committing a crime. Therefore, he criticized the lack of administrative returns and suggested that the central government’s strategy appears to be waiting for the situation to “collapse on its own.”
– Vivas also warned of a deterioration in security and public services. According to data he attributed to the 112 emergency service, calls related to assaults, home invasions, disturbances of the peace, and brawls have increased by 184% during the last 30 days compared to the same period last year. In the case of incidents recorded in the port, the increase reaches 503%, while, as indicated by citing the High Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA), crime in Ceuta has increased by 60%.
– In the healthcare sector, the president stated that emergency room visits have increased by 400%. Source, Spanish: https://www.europapress.es/nacional/noticia-vivas-cifra-15000…

EUROPE
The French government admits its “failure” in managing the protests and announces “partial curfews” in several cities: {Trans, summary}
– The French government has been overwhelmed by the wave of violent riots and looting that swept through the country’s major cities over the weekend. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu convened an emergency inter-ministerial meeting on Monday to address the crisis and announced he will ask prefectures to impose partial curfews in several French cities, though he has not yet specified which ones.
– Lecornu has not ruled out declaring a state of emergency if necessary and has warned that he “will not tolerate looting under any circumstances.” “It’s a miracle there have been no fatalities,” the prime minister added, announcing aid for businesses affected by the looting and linking the unrest to attempts by far-left groups to destabilize the country before the presidential elections scheduled for April.
– The riots have been so serious that the Interior Minister, Laurent Nuñez, has even offered his resignation, although it has been rejected by the President, Emmanuel Macron, due to the need to maintain “continuous command of the forces of order in the current context”.
– “We had projections regarding participation in these demonstrations, which took place throughout the country, and the final figure was 550,000 people. There were two and a half times more people than expected ,” the Interior Minister pointed out, also admitting that the security forces “lost control in some large cities” during Saturday’s riots.
– The riots and looting of shops have been repeated this Monday morning in cities such as Paris, Lyon, Nantes, and Marseille, among others. The French Chambers of Commerce estimate that more than 2,000 establishments have been affected by theft or vandalism and put the material damage at “hundreds of millions of euros.” In the French capital, the BHV Marais department store reported that around thirty people forced their way into the store on Sunday, and the assailants ransacked the ground floor, damaged the exterior of the building, and stole numerous items.
– Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin has acknowledged the French government’s “failure” in managing the protests. Speaking on France 2, Darmanin attributed some of the problems to shortcomings in the intelligence services and also blamed the far left for inciting the unrest. “In the coming years, one of the threats that will affect our country, along with organized crime and terrorism, is far-left radicalism ,” the Justice Minister insisted. GASTRONOMIA
Dine in a 13th-century cistern, 1 minute from the Alhambra in Granada; the restaurant with 230 wines underground, tasting menus from 93 euros and only 5 tables: {Trans, summary}
– Cauce is a new restaurant in Granada, created as the most personal project of Granadan chef Chechu González. It is located within the grounds of the Monumental Hotel Yanguas Nazarí Palace 5*, the only monumental five-star hotel in the city, though the restaurant operates entirely independently. It offers a high gastronomy experience designed for only 15 diners per sitting across five exclusive tables.
– The kitchen is built around three axes: acidity, the prominence of local recipes, and a working method centred on sauces, which are designed first from vinegars, pickles, marinades and intense juices before the raw ingredient is chosen. Produce comes directly from the kitchen’s own vegetable garden at the historic Cortijo Alitaje estate in the heart of the Vega de Granada.
– Two tasting menus are offered: the Zellige menu, 16 courses at €93, and the Cauce menu, 19 courses at €118. Both reinterpret traditional Granadan dishes such as the tortilla del Sacromonte and the remojón granadino, alongside ingredients with deep local roots such as wild rabbit and sturgeon.
– The wine cellar, holding some 230 national and international references, sits inside an original 13th-century underground water deposit, and the tableware is almost entirely made by local ceramicist Maya Vergel.
– The address is Cuesta del Chapiz 66, Granada. It is approximately a 3-minute walk from the Mirador de San Nicolás.
