Golden Leaves Funeral Plans:
Pre-planning your funeral is a thoughtful and responsible way to show you care about your family.
Funerals are no easy task. There are numerous considerations to factor in, including logistics, food and drink, casket purchase and burial grounds. A loved one’s death brings immense emotional strain to any family, and the question of financing and arrangements only exacerbates the stress.
Handling all of these challenges is difficult enough in one’s normal circumstances, but having to go through it while abroad is an enormous burden.
Golden Leaves Funeral Plans aims to support grieving families during these tumultuous times. Since our inception in 1984, we have partnered with a widespread network of funeral directors across the UK and Europe.
Purchasing a funeral plan with Golden Leaves enables you to plan, design and pay for your funeral services in advance.
As one of the leading providers of expat prepaid funeral plans in Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands, we make sure to adequately support your family in the time of greatest need.
If you are an expat family in need of prepaid funeral services please contact Ruth on phone or whats app + 34 693 715 718

Vetiver Spain in Sayalonga
Are you having soil erosion issues after all the recent rain?
Vetiver is the perfect solution with the 3 – 4 metre root system.
The plant is non invasive, grows rapidly and once established it needs very little water.
We are finally open again for business. We are still not permitted to have visitors at our nursery but we can ship plants via post or we can deliver locally.
Our first day of shipping was Monday and we shipped 2,000 plants to various locations in Spain, Portugal, and Hungary.
We have plenty of Vetiver in stock. Right now the soil is nice and damp and the weather is starting to heat up so it is the perfect time to plant.
We also have Lemon Grass, Moringa Seedlings and Organic Moringa Powder.
Moringa, also known as the “Miracle Tree”, has many nutritional and health benefits. If you have ever been to a Thai Restaurant you have probably had Lemon Grass.
Lemon Grass grows easily and quickly. Take a look at our website or go directly to the two links below. If you have any questions please contact us either by email or phone.

Recommendations & Requests

Gardener: Recommendation for Conrad de Susa (and SPW Construction). My wife and I have been living near Competa for nearly six years and before finding SPW on Digamextra, we went through umpteen so-called builders. The same thing occurred in our long search for a real gardener. Again, thanks to an ad we published in digamextra about a month ago, we had gone through at least five so-called gardeners. The ad produced 4 phone calls and from them, we chose an Englishman named Conrad. He is a professional gardener, as he has a degree in horticulture. As I am handicapped, I can’t do much to help my wife, and the garden, which we both love so much, is no exception. Within a month, Conrad has literally transformed it into a small paradise. The first day, he went around the garden to have a first look, and he named off all the plants, flowers and trees that had managed to ”survive” until then. He came up with original ideas, installed an irrigation system, and provided my wife with invaluable information to help her manage the garden in his absence. We even have tomatoes and French beans popping their little leaves up from under the soil. He provided original, safe, and amazingly cheap solutions to get rid of those pesty insects and ants that were invading and killing off so many plants. We are weed-free as well. In addition, Conrad has helped with our swimming pool and done odd jobs around the house that I can no longer accomplish.
So, if you are looking for a real gardener, we highly recommend Conrad. He lives in the Archez/Competa area, but can travel to others. He can be reached on: 622396579.
Kind regards from Paul in Competa. puchkauzon1 At gmail d0t com

Squealing water heater, solution needed: We live in a small community and have an electric water heater that squeals almost continually. We have had an electrician and two plumbers out, and even when we unplug it the squealing continues. Much worse in the warmer weather. The plumbers told us it is the community pump causing the problem, I’ve been to the administrator who denies this. Help Please!
Thankyou, Valerie. El. Morche.

Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria, Croatia’s Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki have previously tested positive after playing in Djokovic’s Adria Tour exhibition tournament. Saudi to allow only approximately 1,000 pilgrims to perform hajj: Saudi Arabia announced on Monday it would hold a “very limited” hajj this year, as it moves to curb the biggest coronavirus outbreak in the Gulf. The decision marks the first time in Saudi Arabia’s modern history that Muslims outside the kingdom have been barred from performing the hajj, which last year drew 2.5 million pilgrims. Saudi Arabia will allow around 1,000 pilgrims residing in the kingdom to perform the hajj this year, a minister said Tuesday, after it announced the ritual would be scaled back due to coronavirus. CANCELLED Due to Covid-19,  Noche de San Juan 2020. It’s normally celebrated on June 23rd, St. John’s Eve and the day of the summer solstice.
The delegate of the Junta de Andalucia in Malaga, Patricia Navarro, has asked residents on the Costa del Sol to be prudent and responsible this Tuesday on San Juan.
All official celebrations of San Juan have been cancelled; undoubtedly, some residents will try to go to the beach to carry on with their traditions. Navarro insists that this year San Juan will be “atypical” because “the recommendations on behalf of the Junta made to all the municipalities is that all parties and activities be suspended.”
Not only will these activities be suspended, but most likely, municipalities will prohibit people on the beach past their closing times. Source: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/06/22/costa-del-sol-asks-residents-in-malaga-to-be-prudent-and-responsible-on-this-san-juan/

We used him to move our belongings from Torrox Costa to La Herradura, he had help with one man another John, they were very professional and got everything moved and put where we wanted them and no breakages. He gave us a quote and kept to the price, it took 5 hours and he charged for 5 hours. So good on you John.

Torremolinos town hall has announced the cancellation of almost all of the large-scale events planned for July, August and September: Suspended events include San Juan, the Festival of Santa María del Mar, the Latin Music Festival, the open-air summer cinema season, and the Romería de San Miguel, one of the biggest pilgrimages in Spain. Missing Any Chrome Browser Extensions? This may explain it: Google recently removed 106 more extensions from its Chrome Web Store after they were found illegally collecting sensitive user data. The extensions in question posed as utilities offering capabilities to convert files from one format to the other, among other tools for secure browsing, while relying on thousands of fake reviews to trick unsuspecting users into installing them. The search giant, in response to the disclosures, has deactivated the problematic browser extensions.

Apple switches to its own chips for Mac computers as it adds features, privacy controls: This brings the Mac into line with the company’s iPhone and iPads, which already use Apple-designed chips. The move will give software developers for Apple’s largest pool of third-party apps – those built for iPhones and iPads – new access to its laptops and desktop for the first time. As with previous Macs, the new Apple-chipped machines will remain able to download software from outside Apple’s official app stores, in contrast to iPhones and iPads, which for the most part can only run software from Apple’s stores. ‘Astonishing’ giant circle of pits found near Stonehenge: The circle of pits is significantly larger than any comparable prehistoric monument in Britain. Researchers have found 20 shafts, but estimate there may have been more than 30 originally. Each one is about 5 metres deep and 10 metres across.
The new discovery shows a 2-km (1.2-mile) wide circle of shafts surrounding a settlement at Durrington Walls, which also included a henge, or circular structure, made of timber posts. The site is located about 3.2 km northeast of Stonehenge and evidence suggests the pits date back to the same period, some 4,500 years ago. Arrivals from the UK into Spain will not have to quarantine: Those arriving from the UK from Sunday will not have to isolate but will have to pass through the three health checkpoints announced on Friday. The first includes filling in a form stating whether the individual has had coronavirus, as well as where to find them during their time in Spain; the second involves a temperature check; and the third is a visual inspection. If the results of one or more of these checks is unsatisfactory, the individual will be examined by a doctor. European borders are reopening, but there is a lot of small print to digest: Travelers from EU and Schengen countries can enter Spain once more, but there are still a number of limits to free movement.
From today, residents of Spain can travel to Sweden, located in the opposite extreme of Europe, but not Portugal, its neighbor, which will be keeping its borders closed to Spain and Italy until July 1.
Another country that borders Spain, France, will not reopen its borders until midnight tonight. Citizens from the United Kingdom, which has officially left the EU but is still covered by a transition agreement until December that grants it full rights as a member state, can enter Spain. But anyone taking the opposite journey will have to quarantine for two weeks on arrival in the UK, a measure that will be in place at least until June 29, despite Spain having opted not to impose a reciprocal measure on UK arrivals.
Another exception to the opening of borders for Schengen countries is Denmark, which will keep border controls in place for the majority of its fellow members – including Spain – until June 27.
While there are already a number of exceptions in Europe, the rules for non-EU and non-Schengen countries are yet to be defined at all. Spain is counting on the 27-member bloc to agree on a list of safe countries, with scaled entry dates according to the epidemiological situation in each one. Will coronavirus spell the end for Spain’s flamenco clubs?: These clubs, which offer intimate shows with a handful of artists — dancers, singers, guitarists, the cajon (box drum) players and the rhythmic clappers — in smaller spaces will find it difficult to adapt to new social distancing norms.
In a bid to save the sector, ANTFES has been lobbying the government to extend its furlough scheme for tablaos until the year’s end and for subsidies to cover the lack of tourists under a campaign called “Flamenco in danger of extinction”.
It is also asking the government to drop its capacity restrictions that are aimed at avoiding any new outbreak — or “95 percent of tablaos will have to close”.
So far, the flamenco sector says it has had no response from the government of Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez who has already extended help to cultural venues such as museums, cinemas and opera houses. Full story:

Tour Operator TUI Drops Holiday Bombshell- No “Air Bridges”- No Flights: Customers face having their travel plans cancelled after the tour operator announced it will only fly holidaymakers to destinations that don’t have quarantine measures in place. This latest update means existing bookings are at risk of being scrapped if “air bridges” aren’t set up in time, while those who’ve yet to book their next getaway will have fewer destinations to choose from. Coronavirus dampens Stonehenge solstice celebrations: The coronavirus pandemic has prevented druids, pagans and party-goers from watching the sun rise at Stonehenge to mark the summer solstice this year as part of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.
English Heritage, the body that oversees Stonehenge, livestreamed the sunrise instead. It said more than 3.6 million people watched as dawn broke at 4:52 a.m. Sunday. Source: https://apnews.com/d7ececec4c8391b3aee4803a91117056

Have Apple And Google Suddenly Uploaded A COVID-19 Tracking App To Your Phone? The Facts Behind The Furor: Social media is buzzing with complaints from people after apparently discovering that Apple or Google has suddenly uploaded a COVID-19 tracking app to their phone without permission. Here’s what actually happened.
If you have opened up your Facebook or Twitter apps only to be bombarded by messages from people warning that Apple or Google has suddenly and stealthily installed a COVID-19 tracking app to their phone, and you should check yours, then you are not alone.
I’m sorry to disappoint those readers looking forward to a good old rant about the state violating their right to privacy or expecting fuel to feed another conspiracy theory fire. Neither Apple nor Google have uploaded an app to your smartphone without your permission; no stealthy and automatic tracking app installation has taken place.
Yes, there is now an entry at the top of the Google settings on my Android smartphone, for example, that states: “COVID-19 exposure notifications.”
No, that does not mean an app has been installed. Indeed, if I were to click on that entry, it would take me to a screen that tells me I have to install or finish setting up a participating app to activate the exposure notifications.
So, what has been installed? This is a case of nothing to see here as all that’s happened in the last Android or iOS update is that the application programming interface (API) that will enable exposure notifications to work has been added. It’s not an app; it’s the framework within the operating system that will allow such an app to function once it becomes available and if you decide to install it.
Apple and Google published a joint statement about this back on May 20. “What we’ve built is not an app – rather public health agencies will incorporate the API into their own apps that people install. Our technology is designed to make these apps work better.”
To sum up, then: nobody can or will install a COVID-19 tracking app on your phone but you. At that point, you will have to agree to the various permissions the application requires to work effectively. As you were, nothing to see here. What’s On

Tell them you saw it on DigameXtra!

Today, June 20th, is World Tapas Day: Spain’s tourism agency Turespaña has declared the third Thursday of every June as World Tapas Day. The word ‘tapa’ – meaning ‘lid’ – is thought to derive from a 13th century law passed by a Castilian king requiring taverns to serve food with alcohol, perhaps in a bid to avoid inebriation of the serfs. A ‘tapa’ was then a small plate of ham or olives used as a lid to keep insects and dust away from a drink. Source: https://www.thelocal.es/20190620/best-tapas-classic-spanish-list

Recommendations & Requests

Bringing a dog into Spain: Hi, does anyone out there have experience of bringing a dog into Spain ? My daughter is relocating from Mexico to Barcelona and will be arriving in October on an Air France flight via Paris. Her small dog is registered as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and has up to date injections and chip/ passport. My query relates to any additional paperwork that may be required at immigration in Barcelona. Does the paperwork have to be in Spanish or is an English version OK. Any other information or tips would be appreciated.

Arrivals into Spain will have to go through three health checkpoints: The first includes filling in a form stating whether the individual has had coronavirus, as well as where to find them during their time in Spain; the second involves a temperature check; and the third is a visual inspection. If the results of one or more of these checks is unsatisfactory, the individual will be examined by a doctor. CONFLICTING STATISTICS: Spain’s Agencies Disagree with Health Ministry’s Adjusted Covid-19 Death Tally Claiming it’s ‘Much Higher’. The Ministry of Health has defended today’s “adjusted” figures, claiming that its results are “transparent” as it counts only deceased cases who had a positive PCR test confirming Covid-19, whereas the data from NIE, Momo and Aesprof also take into account “probable” coronavirus cases, which the Ministry of Health has not included. Netflix Is Less Annoying to VPN Users Now, But Some Titles Are ‘Hidden’: Netflix has started to treat VPN users differently. Instead of preventing them from playing any content, the popular streaming service now allows VPN users to play content that’s globally available. At the same time, however, it has begun hiding titles with geographical restrictions, without informing users.
Previously, VPN users could still log in and browse all titles that were available in their region. When they clicked play, however, a notice would pop up to inform them that the content wasn’t accessible through a VPN.
This has now changed. While it hasn’t yet been officially confirmed by Netflix, several tests using VPN servers from all over the world show that all visible content in the Netflix library can be played. We emphasize the word visible here because there are still some restrictions. If Netflix detects that you’re using a VPN, it will hide titles with geographical licensing restrictions.
In other words, VPN users should no longer run into any blocked content. They just see less content in their Netflix library. This makes VPNs more usable on Netflix and takes away a lot of frustration.

Residents in Spain The Least Satisfied In Regard To How the Government Has Handled the Health Crisis: A survey conducted by the European Parliament shows only 35 per cent of Spaniards are completely or partially satisfied with the management that the Spanish Executive has had of the coronavirus crisis, which is relatively low when compared to 63 per cent of respondents who said they were not very satisfied or 28 per cent who said they were not satisfied at all by their management.
These are the worst figures when compared to the rest of the European Member States as Spaniards show they are the least happy with their government. Two Very Different Sides of the EU Funding for C-19 Recovery Plans:
Holland doubts that a recovery agreement will be reached for the EU this summer: Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte was skeptical of the possibility of reaching an agreement this summer on the post-pandemic economic recovery plan, after the leaders of the European Union (EU) did not close a common position at the summit. European this Friday. The head of the Dutch government considered at the end of that telematic meeting that “it would not be devastating” if an agreement is not reached at the European Council scheduled for next July. President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez Has High Expectations: He asked the EU on Friday for an urgent response and at the height of the crisis caused by the coronavirus, which includes a European economic recovery plan that he hopes will be approved next month and will take effect on 1 January 2021. Frankenstein the Show: A circus and theatre are merged with a touch of dark humour, backed by live music. June 26 to 28 at the Congress Centre in Granada with performances at 6pm and 9.30pm each night.
With this show we expand the concept of the so-called New Circus, reinforcing the plot and the “Theme of Horror”. We made a fun and rogue, but at the same time emotional, version of Mary Shelley’s magnificent work “Frankenstein” or “The Modern Prometheus”. A different way of telling this well-known story through Humor and Acrobatics.
We will transfer the spectator to a fantastic world from the same entrance door of the theater / venue and we will make him forget everything during the two hours of entertainment that our “Show” offers. A stage proposal where the most intense moments of the original novel and the funniest of the versions that have been seen throughout all these years in cinema and theaters are mixed, all wrapped in a fantasy aesthetic inspired by the wonderful mind from the filmmaker “Tim Burton”.

Europe hit by local infection spikes; China’s outbreak wanes: Europe grappled Thursday with local spikes in coronavirus infections as the continent’s lockdown restrictions eased, after hundreds of cases were found at one meatpacking plant in Germany and Greece had to impose a total seven-day lockdown on one village.
The developments came even as a new outbreak in Beijing saw a decline in daily cases and Hong Kong Disneyland reopened after a major drop in infections in the Chinese territory.
In western Germany, health officials in Guetersloh on Wednesday said the number of new COVID-19 cases linked to the Toennies slaughterhouse in Rheda-Wiedenbrueck had risen to 657, a significant regional spike for a country that has recorded daily nationwide infections in the low hundreds lately. UK Pound has bad week: Since opening this week at the level of 1.1143, GBP/EUR has seen mixed movement. GBP/EUR trended higher for around half the week, and briefly touched on a high of 1.1219 but is currently trending near its worst levels all month: 1.1074. The biggest cause of today’s Pound to Euro exchange rate drop was market reaction to the Bank of England’s (BoE) latest policy decision. Source: https://www.exchangerates.org.uk/news/29846/2020-06-18-bank-of-england-tone-disappointing-to-british-pound-to-euro-gbp-eur-exchange-rate-investors.html

The EU’s C-19 Recovery Funds Plan Threatened: EU leaders face pushback from the blockade of the Netherlands and it’s allies in the “Frugal Five” against the anti-crisis fund. “We have not yet started to negotiate, everything is to be done,” say insiders. In Brussels nobody expects much from the first meeting this Friday. And that despite more than 170,000 deaths on the continent from coronavirus and the euro area is expected to end 2020 with a recession of around 8%, with countries like Spain close to 10%.
Contrary to promising announcements and multiple press releases from the Spanish Gov’t the matter is only now being scheduled for July 9th debate. It is the first full meeting of heads of state and government on the European Commission’s proposal: € 750 billion for reconstruction – € 500,000 in grants and € 250,000 in loans – and a multi-year 2021-2027 budget of € 1.1 trillion. World War II Forces sweetheart singer Vera Lynn dies at 103: Lynn hosted a wildly popular BBC radio show during the war called “Sincerely Yours” in which she sent messages to British troops abroad and performed the songs they requested. The half-hour program came on during the highly coveted slot following the Sunday night news.
During the war and long after, Lynn got crowds singing, smiling and crying with sentimental favorites such as “We’ll Meet Again,” and “The White Cliffs of Dover.”

This is how the new negotiation for the extension of the ERTE of force majeure concluded today. The Executive has again rejected the proposal agreed by the social partners to replicate this scheme until September 30, as a prerequite step to a new extension that would last until the end of the year.

Magnitude 7.4 Quake Hits New Zealand, Prompts Brief Tsunami Warning: Despite resident reports that rated the earthquake’s strength as “weak” or “moderate,” the United States Geological Survey said only 15 earthquakes have registered at greater magnitudes near New Zealand over the past 120 years. While GeoNet data showed earthquakes recorded near the Kermadec Islands are common, most are much smaller in size than the magnitude 7.4 earthquake recorded on Friday. Apple Bullies Britain into dumping homegrown virus tracing app, forces it to use Google-Apple system: Even though it worked well on Google’s Android devices, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the government was abandoning the prototype app and instead putting its efforts into developing one using a special interface jointly developed by Apple and Google.
“Apple software prevents iPhones from being used effectively for contact tracing unless you’re using Apple’s own technology,” Health Secretary Matt Hancock said at the government’s daily briefing. “Our app won’t work because Apple won’t change their system,” Hancock said. He wasn’t able to say when a new app would be ready.

A Solstice Solar Eclipse Is About To Happen: Just How Rare Is It?: On Saturday, June 20, 2020, the solstice will occur as the Earth’s north pole reaches its maximum tilt towards the Sun. Just 9 hours later, the Moon will pass perfectly between the Earth and the Sun, creating an annular solar eclipse for a myriad of observers across Africa and Asia. Nature info, update: I would just like to say a big thank you to the DigameXtra readers who replied to my query on the strange creature I found in my garden. Of all the replies it seems most likely to have been a Central Iberian Worm Lizard. I had never heard or seen one before so really appreciate the replies and my new found knowledge! Big Tech & Fakebook Under New Threats of Loss of Protections: The U.S. Justice Department proposed on Wednesday that Congress take up legislation to curb protections that big tech platforms like Alphabet’s Google and Facebook have had for decades, a senior official said, following through on U.S. President Donald Trump’s bid to crack down on tech giants. If they are going to edit, fact check, and censor content then they are publishers and don’t qualify for the Section 230 protections created for telecom and internet access providers that don’t edit content in services they offer. Job Hunting Online?: How to Detect and Avoid Fake Recruiter Scams. There are scammers who pretend to be recruiters in order to access your confidential information and even your bank account.
Often, they use information from real companies, resume information found online, and other details to make the jobs they offer sound convincing.
Some of these fake recruiters go so far as setting up fake profiles on LinkedIn. Or, they may have their own websites that show them as an independent recruiter.
For scammers, the end goal is always the same: theft. Sometimes, scammers try to deceive you into paying them cash as some type of fee for job processing. In other instances, they will attempt to steal a job applicant’s personal details (such as their social security number) for identity theft purposes.

Nature Info: Firstly, I live in Puente Don Manuel and have a fish pond but this year there have been snakes in it all year, normally they only come for a few days at the end of April or beginning of May, and they have eaten nearly all my fish, is there a way to get rid of them at all?
Secondly, I am concreting at the edge of the pond to keep the weeds down, and as I lifted a piece of the old membrane that was laid down with pebbles on, there was what at first glance looked like a huge earthworm, approximately 4or 5 inches long, blunt at both ends and as thick as a thumb and the colour of an earthworm. As I lifted the membrane this thing wriggled similar to a snake and moved really fast into the hedge. It all happened that fast I didn’t have time to see it properly but I had heard of slow worms and thought it was possibly one of those, but on looking them up they are quite big and look like snakes, and apparently there aren’t any in Andalusia.
Please reply to alan-edson@hotmail.com ; Thanks, Alan
(Maybe it’s a skink? Here is a pic. Sometimes they lose their tails resulting in that blunt on both ends look. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skink. Photo:animals.net , -Ed.)

Oracle E-Business Suite Flaws Let Hackers Hijack Business Operations: If your business operations and security of sensitive data rely on Oracle’s E-Business Suite (EBS), make sure you recently updated and are running the latest available version of the software. One consequence of these bugs, if left unpatched, is the possibility of financial fraud and confidential information theft by attacking a firm’s accounting systems. An attacker could modify critical reports in the ledger, including fraudulently manipulating transactions on a firm’s balance sheets.
Given the financial risk involved, it is highly recommended that companies using Oracle EBS run an immediate assessment to ensure they are not exposed to these vulnerabilities, and apply the patches to fix them.
“Organizations need to be aware that current GRC tools and other traditional security methods (firewalls, access controls, SoD and others) would be ineffective against preventing this type of attack on vulnerable Oracle EBS systems,” the researchers cautioned. Costa del Sol tackling second forest blaze in less than 24 hours: At around 3pm this afternoon, emergency services were alerted to a forest fire in Alhaurín de la Torre, Malaga, according to INFOCA. Yesterday evening, three aircraft and three firefighting units were deployed to tackle a roaring forest fire in the Casares area. PHOTO:Infoca Twitter. SCAM ALERT: Police have shut down a fraudulent pyramid scheme which conned more than 250 people out of €10 million on Spain’s Costa Blanca. The bait used was the promise of high returns, between 15 and 30 per cent, well above the average interest offered in the traditional market. In order to make the investors believe they were a “serious and safe company”, the conmen paid out the first interest payments, but once they had “hooked” important amounts, stopped paying. This tactic enabled the gang to raise €10 million, though it is believed the figure could be higher.
The Guardia Civil has recommended anybody considering investing privately should consult official websites beforehand. Full story: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/06/16/police-shut-down-e10-million-pyramid-scam-on-spains-costa-blanca/

German Prosecutor Sends Madeleine McCann’s Parents Heartbreaking Letter Confirming Daughter’s Death: The prosecutor claims to have “concrete evidence,” however he said he can’t reveal the details yet, in case it jeopardises the investigation. The letter is said to leave no doubt that Madeleine is dead and that the suspect, Christian B, is responsible for her murder. Austria- man fined €500 for farting ‘with full intent’ at police: The Oesterreich newspaper reported that the fine stemmed from an incident on June 5 and that the offender was fined for “offending public decency.” They added that the man had behaved “provocatively and uncooperatively” during an encounter with officers that preceded the incident. He got up from a park bench, looked at officers and “let go a massive intestinal wind apparently with full intent,” they said. “And our colleagues don’t like to be farted at so much.” Reference:

Apple Gets Blasted by EU Again- EU authorities open twin Apple antitrust investigations: European Union regulators opened two investigations on Tuesday into Apple’s mobile app store and payment platform over concerns its practices distort competition, opening a new front in the EU’s battle against the dominance of big tech companies.
The EU’s executive Commission said it formally launched the investigations over concerns that Apple’s way of doing business hurts consumers by limiting choice and innovation and keeping prices high. Apple dismissed the complaints as “baseless.”
The Commission opened a second investigation into the App Store over concerns Apple forces developers to use the company’s own in-app purchasing system, which charges them a 30% commission, and restricts them from telling iPhone and iPad users about other ways to pay for digital services like music subscriptions. The investigation follows complaints from music streaming service Spotify and an e-book distributor on the impact of the App Store’s rules on competition. Recommendations & Requests

Mercadona Shopping Trolleys: It’s a good idea. When you get to the till, turn the trolley around so it’s towards the previous customer and unload it from the narrow end. You do not have to pull it anywhere. George / Val, valblick AT hotmail D0T com, Torrox

Nuisance calls!: For the person who asked whether it is possible to Block nuisance calls here in Spain – I have a really cheap and effective way of blocking them! Just whistle down the phone as loud as you can – not very pleasant for the recipient but effective for us! I did that twice six months ago and haven’t been bothered since. DoctorLaptop’s Tips # 82: USB Printer is missing on Windows 10 version 1903 and later (with workaround). Some users report having problems with their printers after recent Windows 10 Updates were installed. Microsoft has acknowledged the bug. There is a workaround for the issue, and it is quite easy to apply. All that needs to be done is to connect the USB printer to the PC and power it on before you start your computer. If that is done, Windows will recognize the USB printer and printing functionality as well as other functionality provided by the printer is available during the session. Microsoft is working on a permanent fix for the issue and plans to release it as part of a future Windows 10 operating system update. Spain will reopen its borders for European travel on June 21st, including British, 10 days earlier than initially planned: Spain had previously planned to restart full EU travel on July 1st but decided to lift “border checks with all member countries on June 21st,” except with Portugal, Prime Minister Sanchez said in a televised speech on Sunday. Spain’s government causes uncertainty as daily Covid-19 death toll is put ‘on hold’: For days now, Spain’s daily coronavirus death toll has been on hold, generating widespread uncertainty about the real state of the pandemic that has claimed more than 27,000 lives in the country.
The health ministry’s emergencies coordinator Fernando Simón, who for months has given a daily briefing on the pandemic’s evolution, acknowledged the “astonishment” and “confusion” generated by the figures.
On May 25th, the ministry changed its method of collecting data on confirmed cases and fatalities, initially giving a daily death toll of between 50 and 100.
But the figure then fell to fewer than five per day and on some days there were no deaths at all.
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez even told parliament there had been “no deaths” for several days, prompting a backlash from the right and the far-right who have since accused him of hiding the real number of fatalities. What Are IPTV Resellers and Why Has Reddit Just Banned Them, Twice?: While torrent-based piracy remains popular today, there is massive demand for unlicensed (illegal) IPTV providers that offer thousands of live TV channels and VOD packages. These illegal IPTV products are available for just a few dollars, euros or pounds per month from what appears to be thousands of suppliers. The truth, however, is that while there is a bewildering range of people willing to sell customers a subscription, most of these don’t run services of their own. Instead, they act as sellers or resellers of other entities’ products. Some of these are not even aware they are illegally reselling pirated content.
These individuals or groups sell IPTV subscriptions all over the Internet. They are often seen on Facebook pages, Twitter, or their very own websites. Until this week, hundreds were advertising subscriptions on Reddit via the appropriately named /r/iptvresellers sub-Reddit. However, that all came crashing down when Reddit’s admins banned the group for violating the site’s rules. Spies Can Listen to Your Conversations by Watching a Light Bulb in the Room: You might not believe it, but it’s possible to spy on secret conversations happening in a room from a nearby remote location just by observing a light bulb hanging in there—visible from a window—and measuring the amount of light it emits. The technique for long-distance eavesdropping, called “Lamphone,” works by capturing minuscule sound waves optically through an electro-optical sensor directed at the bulb and using it to recover speech and recognize music. The new approach is effective from great distances — starting with at least 25 meters away from the target using a telescope and a $400 electro-optical sensor, and can further be amplified with high-range equipment. Anger Grows At Lack of ERTE Payments After More than 2 Months: Day after day, with increasing frustration and discouragement, they call the phones of the Public State Employment Service (SEPE). “You are two months without income and that there is no human voice that responds to you …”. Day after day. No one picks up the phone,” criticizes Dioni Serrano, a journalist in an ERTE since the end of March and who has not yet received unemployment benefits. Like him, many others denounce the delay in the collection of their benefit and the lack of response from the public body, which has faced an unprecedented avalanche of unemployment claims as a result of the coronavirus crisis. UK pubs reopening will be quiet: Landlords have been told to BAN singing, shouting and loud music as it ‘spreads coronavirus’. Authorities explain loud music causes people to shout so to be heard, unfortunately propelling moisture particles and the viruses they can contain across greater distances than a normal conversation would.
