Vetiver Spain in Sayalonga is now fully open!
We have started to receive clients but by appointment only. It is wonderful to finally be able to have visitors! We are of course following the legal guidelines regarding masks and social distancing.
The summer is a great time to plant Vetiver as this plant is indigenous to India. Vetiver loves the heat of summer to grow. Vetiver is often used as a wind barrier in the fall and winter months. Vetiver is the best plant to stabilise erosion prone locations before the first fall rains come. We have plenty of plants in stock for either pickup or delivery via the Spanish Correos.
It is always a great way to spend a day in the garden.
We also have Moringa seeds, Lemon Grass, Moringa seedlings and now our new product, Organic Moringa Powder. If you do not know the medicinal powers of Moringa you can check it out here. https://www.vetiverspain.org/moringa-oleifera-.html
This month we have some specials for both pickup and shipments.

MS Bespoke Joinery: Looking for a professional to redo the work surface of our kitchen, we immediately thought of Digamextra and came across an ad published by a gentleman named Mick Storey. He stipulated that he was a first and foremost a cabinet maker, but that no job was too small. In the end, he redid our kitchen countertop to perfection. We then thought that he might be able to build two bedside tables that we sorely needed. We gave Mick the description of what we wanted, he took the measurements and a few days later we had the most beautiful tables, which went well beyond our expectations.
We, therefore, can’t recommend Mick enough: he is friendly, discreet, talented, and to his own self-admission, a perfectionist.

Spencer Davis has died, aged 81: The multi-instrumentalist and founder of The Spencer Davis Group passed away in hospital yesterday (October 19) while being treated for pneumonia, his agent Bob Birk told the BBC.
Davis formed The Spencer Davis Group in Birmingham in 1963 with Steve Winwood (organ/vocals), Muff Winwood (bass) and Pete York (drums). The band, who originally went by the name The Rhythm & Blues Quartet, became renowned for such hits as ‘Keep On Running’ (a cover of a song written by Jackie Edwards), ‘Gimme Some Lovin” and ‘I’m A Man’.
The Spencer Davis Group were part of the “British Invasion” of the 1960s in the US, and toured with the likes of The Who and The Rolling Stones.
The Winwood brothers left the group in 1967 — Steve to form Traffic; Muff to become a successful record executive — and the band wound down in July 1969 (although they briefly reformed from 1973-74) with Davis moving to the US the following year to pursue a solo career. Spanish government considering nationwide state of alarm to implement a curfew: The Spanish government is considering introducing a nighttime curfew across the whole of the country, in a bid to bring down coronavirus infections. The executive believes, however, that it would need to do so under a state of alarm given that there is no other option that would give it the legal framework to limit a fundamental right such as that of movement in this way. Madrid Asks Government to Declare a Curfew: The Councillor of the Community of Madrid, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, is pursuing plans for the government to implement a curfew to stop surging coronavirus infections. “For that [to decree a curfew] you have to have legal coverage that the Community of Madrid does not have, it would have to be a decision made by the government of Spain,” he said. Excess deaths in second wave- 11,000 deaths since July: Statistics in Spain show 11,000 excess deaths during the second wave of the coronavirus, compared with the same period last year.
Since these are deaths from all causes, the difference between the observed and the expected death count since July, using data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) based on civil registry records, could be partly explained by the summer heat.
But the Carlos III public health institute, which runs a mortality monitoring system called MoMo, has only categorized 1,959 deaths as caused by heat this year, the same number as last year.

Greater Manchester to be forced into Tier 3 lockdown with pubs to shut for 28 days: A Tier 3 lockdown will now be imposed on the region after Tory ministers walked out on talks in a row over just £5m – as mayor Andy Burnham acucsed them of “playing poker with people’s lives”. As with other Tier 3 areas, all pubs and bars will have to close for at least 28 days unless serving substantial meals. Indoor or garden gatherings between multiple households will be banned and residents will be advised against travel.
On top of usual Tier 3 rules, betting shops, casinos, bingo halls, adult gaming centres, and soft play areas must also shut in Greater Manchester. Full article: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/breaking-greater-manchester-forced-tier-22876230

Spike in coronavirus cases in Italy has led to new restrictions: The announcement has given local mayors the power to close public areas after 9pm with restaurant opening times and group sizes also being tightened.
Bars and restaurants must close at midnight and after 6pm, only table service will be allowed, with maximum group sizes being six.
Starting times at schools will be later and more distance-learning will be encouraged, although these will mainly affect older pupils in high schools.
Conferences and local festivals have been suspended and amateur contact sports will be stopped. Gyms and swimming pools have seven days to adapt to the new protocols. Full article:

If your device is comprimised, no anti-malware apps or amount of encryption will prevent snooping or data theft: A Windows-based remote access Trojan believed to be designed by Pakistani hacker groups to infiltrate computers and steal users’ data has resurfaced after a two-year span with retooled capabilities to target Android and macOS devices. It has been an uninterupted problem in Windows.
According to cybersecurity firm Kaspersky, the malware dubbed “GravityRAT” now masquerades as legitimate Android and macOS apps to capture device data, contact lists, e-mail addresses, and call and text logs and transmit them to an attacker-controlled server. BOTTOM LINE- If you put it on the Internet, including the “Cloud” and Messaging App conversations, you should consider it public. The Takedown of Big-Tech Begins: What would you do if Fakebook and all the free social media become paid subscription services? Or if they become geo-restricted, limited to the country you’re in, or even EU only? Is it possible FB users in Spain could be blocked from seeing the UK version post Brexit? The best solution is to have your own website. Share the link with all your contacts. You can set it up so only your invited visitors can view it, where they can comment on your posts. You can even have a realtime text-chat box on your site for live conversations. Then you don’t need FakeBook, Twits, Instabore or Snoopchat. Watch some tutorial videos and build your own website on one of the many free website hosts like Webnode or Contact DoctorLaptop to discuss your options.
