COVID-19

Covid Andalucia- Andalusia registers more than 13,000 cases of Covid but only adds 7 patients in ICU:
{Translation} 30/12/2021 20:36
-The sixth wave of the pandemic remains on course: infections are growing exponentially but hospitalisations and deaths are growing much more moderately. This is the case this Thursday, when Andalusia has added 13,344 Covid-19 positives but, nevertheless, only records seven new patients in the ICU.
-In the detail of the data, it can be seen how the community records thousands of infections every day. There are many more than those that occurred in the third wave of the pandemic, last January. In fact, more than 13,000 cases have been recorded this Thursday, almost twice as many as at the peak of that time. And yet the pressure on hospitals is a fifth.
-Thus, this Thursday Andalusia has 1,098 hospital admissions, 104 more than yesterday. Although this is a notable advance, it is a far cry from the almost 5,000 that were admitted at the beginning of the year. In the ICUs this reality is even more palpable: today there are 176 Andalusians in intensive care for Covid-19 compared to more than 700 in January. Seven times fewer with twice the number of infections.
-As for the number of deaths, the trend is the same. Although cases are soaring, there is no reflection in this variable. Thus, Andalusia reported six deaths on Thursday, the lowest figure since last week.
-Where the effect of this increase in the number of infections can be seen is in the cumulative incidence. This variable, which was very reliable for monitoring the pandemic in its early stages, before the arrival of the vaccines, is now a good way of monitoring the evolution of cases but not so much as a measure of the risk of the pandemic. In any case, the incidence has risen to 1,093 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on Thursday, 589 in the case of one week. Conflicting Info Regarding UK Citizens With Homes in EU Transiting Through France:
-The operator of the Eurotunnel, Getlink, published a tweet regarding France’s new requirements. “Following a French Government decision, on 28/12/2021, unless they hold French residency, British citizens are now considered 3rd country citizens and can no longer transit France by road to reach their country of residence in the EU,” the statement reads.
-As reported by the Guardian, the French travel guidance has stressed that “nationals of the European Union or equivalent”, together with their partners and children, “who have their main residence in France or who join, in transit through France, their main residence in a country of the European Union” are estimated to have a compelling reason for travelling from Britain through France.
-Authorities in France have announced that Britons who hold a residence permit in another EU country, such as Germany, Spain, or Belgium, will be obliged to present proof of their residence, such as tax forms, a residency permit and similar valid proofs.
-The UK gov’t site says, “The French authorities confirmed on 30 December that UK nationals who are resident in other EU Member States and who have travelled to the UK for the Christmas period will be able to transit France over the New Year period in order to return home to their country of residence.”

CHANGE OF FORMAT- Vélez-Málaga will enjoy the Three Kings and the Royal Postman with a static and 100% safe tour:
-The City Council of Vélez-Málaga announces this parade format so that the little ones can enjoy delivering the letters with their requests and see the Kings, whom they can visit on January 3 and 5 for a Christmas circuit in the enclosed Velez fair ensuring the health and safety of participants and visitors at all times.

We have been providing Vetiver throughout the EU for almost 10 years now. We are located in Sayalonga where we can plant year round but our best results by far start in February. The reason is that Vetiver is indigenous to India and Vetiver loves the heat of the summer. Use Vetiver cuttings as mulch around all of your fruit trees. Decomposing Vetiver improves soil quality, keeps the weeds down and the insects away all while helping to maintain soil moisture.
Vetiver is a nutritious and replenishable animal fodder. Horses and pigs love it. We use it in our chicken pens replacing hay because it stops mites.
In the 2 photos below you will see land prepared for Vetiver and the results 2 years later.
We also use Vetiver along driveways and sidewalks. It also makes a great and inexpensive ornamental hedge.
Here is a link to a short video showing the results.
https://youtu.be/rjTmb_LL2uo
We suggest planting now, as this is the BEST time of the year to plant.

Seville, Malaga and Córdoba raise their Covid alert level to grade 2:
{Translation, summary} The rest of Andalusia, communicates the Ministry of Health and Families, remains at level 1, which implies that there are no new  restrictions yet in any area of  these communities.
This is so because the Board suspended all the limitations of grades 1 and 2 due to the entry into force of the Covid passport until next January 15 at least.

SPAIN

The perfect storm of Spain’s sixth coronavirus wave- Omicron is spreading at Christmas, with few restrictions in place, and waning vax immunity: So what is special about this new wave of the virus? Above all else, there are conditions that amount to a perfect storm: there are few restrictions in place, the immunity offered by Covid-19 vaccines is waning, and a new variant, the more-contagious omicron, is spreading fast.
In just a few weeks, the world has been turned upside down once more, with rampant infections, borders being closed and severe restrictions being introduced in parts of Europe. In Spain, primary healthcare centers are on the brink of being overwhelmed, there is a lack of supply of home antigen tests in the country’s pharmacies, and hospitals – while far from being congested – are holding their breath as they see admissions rise. The coming days will be crucial to calibrate the severity of this wave, the experts warn. The Government approves the labor reform and will give companies three to six months to adapt the contracts: This is a very long, confusing article. Here are the main points, translated. If you are a business owner, please consult your gestor/attorney for more info. -Ed.
-The reform will come into force from this Wednesday, except for the new regulation regarding temporary contracts
-The Government will grant a period of three months to companies to adapt the temporary contracts already in force and six months in the case of contracts for works and services
-The new labor pact employment modifies several points of the Workers’ Statute , such as hiring and collective bargaining
-Among other measures, temporary hiring is curbed, collective bargaining is changed and new structural ERTEs are introduced.
The ordinary employment contract will be indefinite and an attempt will be made to limit the temporality by establishing only two types of temporary contracts: structural and training. In this line, the temporary contract due to production circumstances is set at six months, extendable to twelve months, and the validity of contracts for occasional work increases at 90 days. The fixed discontinuous contract is also promoted to carry out activities of a seasonal or seasonal nature and the use of this modality is enabled for Temporary Employment Companies (ETT).
-On the other hand, the chaining of contracts when considering a worker as permanent is reduced from 24 to 18 months compared to the 24 months in a period of 30 months that was currently in force. Failure to comply with the rules governing temporary contracts will automatically result in the worker being considered as permanent. At the same time, fines are increased up to 10,000 euros for the most serious infringements and a contribution surcharge of 27 euros is set for each termination of contracts of less than one month.

North Spain Reintroduces Curfews:
{Translation, summary} 28/12/2021 18:27
-Catalonia, Aragon, Asturias, Galicia, the Canary Islands, La Rioja, Murcia, Navarre and the Basque Country are the autonomous communities that have once again resorted to a night-time curfew or the closure of the hotel and catering trade from midnight or 1am as a measure to combat the increase in the cumulative incidence of the coronavirus.
-In the Canary Islands the courts have yet to endorse the curfew for the islands with a level 2 and 3 risk, while the rest of the aforementioned communities have established different times for the closure of the hotel and catering trade, with some even imposing a different timetable for night-time leisure. Avoiding False Covid Test Results:
{Translation} 28 Dec, 2021 14:49h
-The first thing to remember when faced with an antigen test at home is to follow the instructions correctly. Maintaining proper hand hygiene, placing the tube in an upright position and waiting the appropriate time to check the result are some of the essential guidelines for the correct functioning of the test.
-But in addition, there are some actions or reasons why this type of test may see its result altered.
-Expiry of the antigen test. Pharmacy antigen tests also have an expiry date. This is usually between four and six months. Therefore, storing antigen tests and performing them over a period of time without checking their expiry date can probably lead to an erroneous test result.
-Temperature extremes during testing. Ideally, an antigen test should ideally be carried out at room temperature. In addition, the storage temperature is equally important. This is because the reagent liquid is very sensitive and any extreme temperature could corrupt it. “Don’t use rapid tests when it is very cold, as this can diminish their benefits or effectiveness,” says Michael Mina, eMed’s chief scientific officer.
-The temperature at which the self-test should be kept is always indicated on the package itself and is usually between two and 30 degrees Celsius.
-Eating and drinking immediately before taking the test. Experts advise against taking the test immediately after eating. The best option would be to wait at least half an hour before taking the test.
-Brushing your teeth or using mouthwash. Especially before a mouth swab test, it is advisable to avoid brushing your teeth and using mouthwash beforehand. It is recommended to wait about 20 minutes if you do so. Failure to follow this recommendation could result in a false positive.
-Ingesting coffee or acidic drinks such as cola. Any acidic food or drink compromises the integrity of the test. In this case, the throat swab may be affected and give a positive result. Source, Spanish:

COVID ALERT- CANCELLATIONS: Covid incidence rates are rising rapidly. Events are being cancelled in many cases.
-I strongly suggest you verify events to avoid the disappointment of arriving at a cancelled event.
-Supposedly, “…the Andalusian Government will decide any restrictions after hearing from the territorial committees, which will meet on Monday (3 January), and the ‘Committee of Experts’ (4 January).” {Quote from article posted in News Section}.
-However, an earlier “emergency” meeting may be deemed necessary.
-Among possible new restrictions are: capacity reductions, early closing hours of non-essentials, and the dreaded municipal travel restrictions. Curfews are unlikely and home confinements have been ruled unconstitutional, twice.
-If there are new restrictions announced I will post it asap. -Ed.

SPAIN

Spain receives 10,000 million in the first leg of the recovery fund of the EU- and the strings attached to it: {Translation, summary}
– The European Union has disbursed the first tranche of the €10 billion recovery fund to Spain on Monday.
-The European Commission has also confirmed the disbursement to Spain of “10 billion euros in grants to support reforms and the transition to a green and digital future”.
-Once the transaction has been completed, this 10 billion tranche will join the 9 billion advance that the EU executive advanced in mid-August, which was not subject to conditions.
-Spain was the first EU country to submit a formal request to receive the first disbursement and was able to do so after signing with the EU executive the technical document that stipulates how the fulfilment of each commitment is to be verified.
-The 10 billion tranche of Spain’s recovery plan hinged on 52 milestones and targets that the government had already met, which allowed the European Commission to conclude its preliminary analysis in just three weeks, without using up the two-month deadline available to it.
MORE THAN 50 REQUIREMENTS
-This first tranche hinged on reforms included in almost all components of the government’s recovery plan. Eight of these form part of the chapter on the modernisation of the administration, among them the regulation to reduce temporary employment in the public sector.
-Also important in this disbursement was the component on tax reform, with measures such as the introduction of the digital tax, the tax on financial transactions or short-term changes in corporate and indirect taxation.
-This first disbursement also includes measures from the labour reform chapter, such as the law regulating teleworking, the regulation to reduce the gender pay gap and the entry into force of the action plan to tackle youth unemployment.
-With regard to pension reform, the disbursement of this 10 billion was conditional on the separation of the sources of Social Security funding, the review of individual pension plan bonuses and the modification of the maternity pension supplement.
-Other milestones and objectives included among the requirements for accessing this tranche of direct aid are the approval of the climate law, the decarbonisation strategy until 2050, the hydrogen roadmap, the Spanish circular economy strategy, the SME digitalisation plan and the national artificial intelligence strategy. Ryanair to suspend more than 80 routes in January: The low-cost Irish airline Ryanair has announced that it will temporarily suspend more than 80 routes in Spain during January, due to the situation caused by the omicron variant and the new measures put in place by countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy or the Netherlands.
Ryanair’s decision will affect both routes within Spain and international routes at practically all of the national airports where it operates. Those airports affected are listed in source article. ANDALUCIA

Junta’s ‘committee of experts’ to meet next week to consider new Covid control restrictions: {27 December 2021, 17:01}
-The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, announced this Monday, 27 December, that the Andalusian Government will decide any restrictions after hearing from the territorial committees, which will meet on Monday (3 January), and the ‘Committee of Experts’ (4 January). But he said that the Junta’s wish is that the measures will “affect the economic and productive activity in the region as little as possible.”
“The coronavirus incidence rate of Andalucía is not so bad”, he argued and said that “we are at the bottom of the ranking”, a reference to the fact that the Covid rate in the region – with 841 cases per 100,000 inhabitants – is the lowest in Spain, together with Castilla La Mancha. The Territorial Committees will meet to discuss Covid Alert Levels & restriction recommendations before the Junta Meetings next week:
{Translation, last 2 paragraphs only} 27/12/2021 17:59
-Before next week’s meetings arrive (see previous article), this Tuesday is the  scheduled meeting of the territorial committees. At this meeting it is expected that alert levels will be raised for several Andalusian territories the Minister of Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre explained in a press briefing.
-However, no region of the community is expected to pass beyond Covid alert level 2, where there are no restrictions. Those measures, Aguirre recalled, are taken from level 3, but it is not expected that this stage will be reached in any area of  Andalusia until next week.

MALAGA

Mijas dog owners could face fines of 50 to 750 euros if they don’t dilute dog pee: First it was Ronda, Torremolinos and Benalmádena, but now the war against dog pee has reached Mijas, the fourth major town in the province that is going to force dog owners to clean up after their pets. The mayor of Mijas, Josele González, and the councillor with a responsibility for public highways, Nicolás Cruz, have confirmed to SUR that a measure to make owners dilute the urine of their pets on the street will be tabled at a council meeting on 29 December, and if it gets the go-ahead, the measure could take effect within weeks. NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope just launched, and why this is such a monumental event for the entire field of astronomy: The Webb Telescope is set to travel 1 million miles (1.6 million km) from Earth over the next six months and then begin orbiting the sun at the vital-for-the-mission location known as the second Lagrange point. Once that happens, it will begin sending back images of the universe. But these won’t be mere intergalactic photos. The Webb will offer us a new story of the cosmos, completely unfiltered. This will be a giant step forward from the Hubble telescope, which launched along with the Discovery space shuttle in 1990. Recommendations & Requests

Thank you: Can I just wish Naythan a Merry Christmas and Happy New year, your work is much appreciated.
Best wishes, John in UK.

Power Cuts: Can somebody explain why that in Spain when it rains the power goes off? I’m not talking about electrical storms, gale force winds, just rain. On Christmas day I counted eleven mini power cuts, lasting from seconds to about five minutes but every one of them enough to shut down the router, muck up the house phone and switch off the tele, which then has to fire itself up again.
If the power went off in England when it rained it would never be on. If you are in El Morche but didn’t suffer this it’s because our block is electrically attached to Velez. Carole, El Morche.

SPAIN

La Palma’s volcano eruption officially declared over on Christmas Day: The regional government in the Canary Islands will, however, maintain the state of emergency as risks remain. Full article: https://www.surinenglish.com/spain/palmas-volcano-eruption-20211226075914-nt.html

Electric falls this Monday from 100 euros per MWh and marks its lowest price in almost two months: The average price of electricity will give families and companies a truce on Monday. The amount paid in the wholesale market continues its downward trend and will be tomorrow, December 27 below 100 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) for the first time since last November 1. After marking levels never seen during this week, electricity will cost about 96.08 euros per MWh on mid-morning, according to data published today by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE).
-The price contrast will once again be very marked depending on the different time bands. The maximum price tomorrow will take place this Monday between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., when it will reach 207.10 euros / MWh. The minimum price will plummet to 2.67 euros / MWh between 2:00 and 6:00 in the morning.
-The collapse in the cost of electricity occurs after the historical maximum, located at 383.67 euros / MWh, was recorded in Spain on December 23. Since then, the price has fallen by 75% in just four days that coincide with the Christmas holidays and that have an impact on the demand being much lower due to the lack of activity of companies, industries and large consumers.
-The causes of the reduction in the price of electricity in the middle of Christmas are explained by lower demand, but also by the reduction in the price of gas. Based on data from the Iberian Gas Market (Mibgas), the cost of this raw material today stands at 67.38 euros per MWh, well below the maximums set in recent days. The price of gas has fallen after the United States sent dozens of shipments of liquefied natural gas. These shipments will help balance cuts from Russia, which remains Europe’s main gas supplier. SPAIN

The government justifies the return of face masks outdoors because of Christmas “crowds”: {Translation} 23/12/2021 13:33
-The Government held an extraordinary Council of Ministers meeting on Thursday to approve the Royal Decree Law of the Ministry of Health with the return of the use of face masks outdoors (except for some exceptions such as sports, being in the countryside and with a distance of one and a half metres), as well as the new measures announced yesterday to deal with the sixth wave of the coronavirus.
-The Minister Spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, and the Minister for Health, Carolina Darias, justified the recovery of this prevention instrument at the press conference following the cabinet meeting after strong criticism from the opposition and partners. The Summit of Presidents held yesterday by telematic means was not satisfactory for most of the leaders.
-“What the government has done with the communities is to convince them to use the masks outdoors, we are witnessing greater interaction and mobility and many crowds in the vast majority of cities because of the dates we are in, the masks prevent the spread by aerosols,” explained Darias. The health minister also pointed out that this is a “temporary measure” until the “situation improves”. The accumulated incidence is 784 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and with a very high risk of transmission – yesterday’s data -.
-As ABC explains on Thursday, scientists believe that the return of the masks to the streets is an “absurd” decision and that it is part of a “political theatre” that will contribute to increasing the pandemic fatigue of the public. However, Minister Darias, as did Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez yesterday, insists that it is endorsed by the consensus of the scientific community.
-“We have different scientific studies from different countries, such as the USA and Germany, that speak of the relationship between the spread of aerosols and the role of masks in stopping these contagions,” Darias justified. “In the latest report of the Centre for Coordination of Alerts and Health Emergencies (CCAES) on the Omicron variant establishes a series of recommendations that say that given the expansion of the same and the high transmissibility it is necessary to comply with the control of non-pharmacological measures such as the proper use of masks,” he continued.
-The Popular Party claims that the government “is doing nothing” and is sending a message of confusion. “This is purely a matter of political marketing and the Spanish people are too intelligent to be taken for a ride,” said Ana Pastor, Vice-Secretary for Social Policy of the Popular Party. The spokesman for Ciudadanos, Edmundo Bal, spoke of the “total uselessness” of the measure. Bildu says it “contributes little and confuses a lot”. And Vox campaigned yesterday on Twitter not to put it on. Italy bans New Year events as COVID infections surge: Italy has tightened restrictions to curb surging COVID-19 infections, including banning all public New Year’s Eve celebrations, as daily infections hit a record high, the government said on Thursday.
Health Minister Roberto Speranza said mask wearing would be compulsory outdoors again and ordered people to use the more protective Ffp2 face masks on public transport and in public places, such as theatres, cinemas and at sports events.
In addition, concerts and open-air events will be banned until Jan. 31, and discos and dance clubs will have to shut their doors until that date, in an effort to prevent mass socialising during the holiday period. Turns out, no one wants to talk to Amazon’s Alexa: According to internal Amazon data obtained by Bloomberg, some years see up to 25 percent of new Alexa owners no longer actively using their devices after only two weeks of ownership.
Amazon does recognize that the biggest barriers to growth for its Alexa devices comes down to privacy and usefulness. While many users realize the speakers must listen to their surroundings to accurately respond to commands, many find it frightening to know that Amazon employees can review audio clips, or the speaker may accidentally send out recordings of private conversations.
As for its usefulness, while many features are available, it’s just not feasible to actually use most of them. And despite Amazon continuing to add more features, it’s more annoying than helpful most of the time. Full article: https://mashable.com/article/amazon-alexa-usage-drop

DigameXtra Alert 23Dec21- Mandatory Masks Outdoors Starts Tomorrow, Friday

As of this Friday, December 24, the mask will be mandatory in Spain at all times outdoors, and the 2 exceptions.

Source: https://www.diariosur.es/nacional/mascarillas-exteriores-excepciones-nuevas-gobierno-20211223180016-nt.html

As of this Friday, December 24, the mask will be mandatory in Spain at all times outdoors. The Council of Ministers approved this Thursday the decree law that gives the green light to this new regulation, which seeks to help contain the spread of the coronavirus. The Measure announced yesterday by Pedro Sánchez has been detailed 24 hours later by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, who analyzed at a press conference the only exceptions for not wearing masks outdoors. There are two cases: when “individual sport” is carried out and when walking through a “natural space” such as “in the field on the beach” as long as a distance of 1.5 meters with the rest of the people can be guaranteed. And although it is thought that cities are more likely to register agglomerations, this obligation is also imposed in towns. After being consulted by this end, Darias has indicated that the mask will also have to be worn “if a person is in a square in a rural area.”

The minister insisted that this is a decision “endorsed by scientists” and that despite the current high incidence the situation is not like in previous Christmases due to the wide “vaccination coverage”, although she stressed that it is important ” do not lower your guard.

“Minimum effectiveness”

However, the General Council of Official Medical Associations (CGCOM), through the COVID-19 Advisory Commission, has recalled that requiring the use of masks outdoors “has minimal effectiveness by itself, although it may indirectly encourage their use indoors, on terraces and crowds ».

In this sense, the CGCOM has warned in statements collected by Europa Press that the severity of this new wave of the pandemic may mean the “bankruptcy of the National Health System and the professionals who support it.” For this reason, they highlight the need to adopt new public health measures to prevent the lower severity of cases in the vaccinated population from “trivializing the damage to health and well-being that is occurring.” Thus, they encourage administrations and those responsible to “become aware of the deep malaise, discouragement and exhaustion of doctors and other health professionals.”

In addition, they express their doubts about the obligatory nature of the COVID Certificate: «With high vaccination rates and a variant that can be transmitted by the immunized, requiring a passport does not guarantee the control of transmission in closed premises and can give a false security that relaxes the protection”.

News & Articles

{ Translations by www.DeepL.com/Translator }

Editor’s Note: I encountered an amazing amount of fake news and contradictory articles while collecting todays news articles. One case of particular interest to us in Spain is that some normally dependable Spanish news sources are mis-representing (outright lying) what actually took place in todays emergency meeting of regional presidents regarding new Covid restrictions, and masking in particular. While these sources are claiming a majority of support for PM’s the new proposed restriction, few, such as sevilla.abc.es and elmundo.es, revealed accurately that this was in fact not the case, “Only seven of 17 autonomies had requested this measure, there was no majority although Sánchez spoke of “very broad consensus.” There was strong opposition from both sides, pro restrictions and anti restrictions, to this moderate approach proposed by the PM.  We should  find out tonight what new rules we will have for the holidays. SPAIN

PM Pedro Sánchez says the move to restore outdoor masking will be approved on Thursday: Spain’s PM Pedro Sánchez has announced to an emergency meeting of regional presidents that on Thursday (23 December) an Extraordinary Cabinet meeting will approve a decree law to make the use of face masks compulsory outdoors, again.
Although there will be exceptions, such as for the practice of sports, in principle, the Government’s plan is to make the use of the coronavirus protection measure mandatory in most circumstances and regardless of whether or not the 1.5 metres safe social distance can be maintained. SPORTS

USA cricketers defeat Ireland by 26 runs in T20 contest: The United States scored a famous and deserved T20 cricket triumph over Ireland on Wednesday to get the most important series in their history off to the best possible start.
A brilliant 65 from Gajanand Singh helped the hosts reach a competitive 188 for 6 in their 20 overs and some disciplined bowling from Saurabh Netravalkar and Ali Khan helped keep the Irish at bay to secure an opening victory in the five-game set, the first USA home series ever against a Test playing nation.
Ireland had never lost to an American side coming into the clash, thrashing them four times in T20 World Cup qualifier tournaments from 2010 to 2015. But the visitors were distinctly second best in Florida as the US notched their best-ever win against a Test playing nation in the Twenty20 format. Photo:ADHIKARI AFP. Copy Videos From YouTube? The major record labels believe that YouTube rippers are the most significant piracy threat on the Internet: These sites, which can be used for a variety of purposes, are used by some to convert free YouTube videos into MP3/MP4 files for downloading onto their devices. That is stealing files you have no right to copy. The RIAA and several of its members have taken legal action to curb this threat. They previously sued YouTube-MP3, the world’s largest ripping site at the time, which resulted in the site shutting down in 2017.
The RIAA listed 1,618 copyrights and argued that $50,000 per copyright infringement is appropriate. In addition, it asked for $1,250 per DMCA violation, bringing the total to $82,922,500.
Judge Buchanan concludes that these amounts are appropriate, given the music companies’ lost profits and advertising revenue, as well as the finding that the YouTube rippers willfully and repeatedly facilitated copyright infringement. TikTok unseats Google and Facebook as the most visited website in 2021: In somewhat surprising news, TikTok.com took over as the most visited website, over Google.com. This all comes from Cloudflare, which ranks traffic for sites worldwide each year. Typically, the top five websites are Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Apple and Netflix. Sometimes Netflix and Amazon flip-flop, but other than that, the order is generally the same. This year, however, TikTok took over. After being number seven last year.
