Live music Posada la Plaza, Canillas de Albaida: Sat, 8 July
Hi folks, as Groovy is busy, I will be playing as just “Cool” next Saturday 8th July from 9.00pm at Posada La Plaza, Canillas de Albaida.
I believe there is a new chef at the restaurant.
I will take this opportunity to play more sax tunes including Baker Street and probably more Beatles songs with my own harmonies and backing.
I also have a new “Spanish” version of Delilah recently learned for a birthday party that I might unleash again.
There will be the usual Irish banjo and mandolin tunes and the dance set at the end.
So I really hope to see you there if you can make it, call 952 553 254 or 609 167 127 for your table.

Your questions answered by Ruth from Compare Funerals Spain
– Why should I have a funeral plan? Having been funeral planning for over 10 year I’ve experienced some very sad and upset families when nothing is in place. A Spanish funeral plans will ensure that all costs are covered for your funeral service. Getting a prepaid plan will help you feel assured that your family will not be under any financial strain when it comes to paying for your funeral. A plan also means you can have peace of mind that everything has been organised in advance, so your loved ones do not have to make any difficult decisions.
– Why choose Compare Funerals? There seems to be a gap in Spain between independent funeral directors, offering plans at a good price but lacking the security of an established Trust or ability to cover a client overseas and Providers who seem to charge more than necessary. We want to be right in the middle and offer the best of both worlds. Our best-priced plan is only 2,250€ and does the essentials.
– Can I do a payment plan? All our plans are payable in full or over up to 5 years interest FREE. The interest free periods are based on initial deposit. The higher the deposit the less your monthly repayments will be.
– Can I transfer the plan? The answer is YES. You could name 2 people on one plan however if you had a friend/family member pass away we can transfer the plan into a 3rd party’s name.
– What happens if I move? All our plans offer the equivalent service in Spain (including the islands), Portugal, Republic of Ireland and the UK. If you moved to the UK, we would transfer the plan to one of our many partners at no extra cost to you.
– Is paperwork included? Yes, your family will receive a death certificate in Spanish and an international certification in English. We also provide a cremation certificate that allows the ashes on board a plane.

DoctorLaptop’s Computer Repairs & Services:
– Summer heat puts additional strain on laptops. Hot laptops tend to run slow, or even shut themselves down, and this leads to bigger problems. Have your computer properly maintained with an annual professional servicing to keep it free of malware, trackers & data collectors and running at its optimum capacity.
– You don’t wait till your car engine freezes before you change your oil, now do you? If you do, the repair costs far more than the oil changes you skipped. It’s the same with computers. An inexpensive annual maintenance service is far cheaper than waiting until the device is annoyingly slow and popping up error messages, and thus in need of an expensive repair. Protect your computer & your privacy with annual servicing.
– The Doctor is closed on weekends. I do not work on computers that are more than 8 years old (pre 2015), unless they have been receiving annual servicing by me. Always include the patient’s make and model number when making support requests.

Justice officials suspend the indefinite strike until after 23-J elections: {Translation, summary}
– This Tuesday will be the last day of strike action by justice officials, at least until a new government is formed, according to the unions belonging to the Committee -CSIF, STAJ, CC OO and UGT. The strike, which has been going on since 22 May, has ended without any agreement on a wage increase with the Ministries of Justice and Finance.
– However, the strikers warn that the conflict is not over: on 7 July there will be sit-ins in the high courts of justice, there will be rallies in government delegations and “the new government” will have “a problem to solve as soon as it takes office”. On 11 and 20 July there will be two final days of strike action.
– According to the data provided by the committee itself, the strike has led to the suspension of almost 20 million legal proceedings and two million trials over 78 days. Photo: EuropaPress. – The Governing Council has analysed this Tuesday the weekly drought report, in which a decrease of 30 hm3 (-0.37%) is registered in the Guadalquivir Basin, which means that it is at 23.61% of the total storage capacity of this demarcation.
– In the case of the Andalucian Mediterranean basins, the volume in storage is 389 hm3 (33.57% of the total), having fallen by 0.60%.

MALAGA PROVINCE
Cereal harvest in Malaga’s fields this year is ‘worst in history’ as drought plagues the province:
– Malaga’s wheat farmers are lamenting this year’s cereal harvest as drought causes crop losses of up to 90% in some areas of the province. In addition to the lack of rain in February, there has been intense heat in spring, resulting in drier than usual conditions. According to several farmers, temperatures above 30 degrees killed off the sowing season.
– Farming cooperative Dcoop’s cereals director, Juan Carlos Rodríguez, has been working in the sector in the province for three decades and had no hesitation in describing 2023 as the “worst in history”. For the Dcoop expert, there is no area in Malaga that will be spared. “In Campillos we are talking about losses of 80%, in Antequera 85%, and I would go as far as to say that in Teba, there is even a 90% drop,” he said. Deer’s supermoon ‘bathes’ Málaga: {Translation, summary}
– Those of you who looked up at the sky on Monday night will have noticed that there was something special about the moon. It is the biggest full Moon of the year and it is also shining brightly. It is called the Deer or Thunder supermoon and is one of the most eagerly awaited astronomical events of each summer, as it is the first of the summer season.
– Already on the night of Sunday to Monday this supermoon could be seen perfectly from any point in the province of Malaga -and the Peninsula-, but it was not completely full, so it is this Monday morning when it could be seen completely full. It will shine throughout the week, although with less intensity.
– It is so named because it coincides with the growth of new tips on the antlers of male deer. Its alternate name comes from the Native American tribes, ‘Moon full of thunder’, since it appears in the rainy months together with strong electrical storms.

#MeToo
#MeToo Backfire In Malaga- Woman arrested for fabricating a fake rape in Malaga to hide infidelity from her girlfriend: {Translation, summary}
– She went on holiday for a few days with a female friend (not her girlfriend). The destination was Malaga. They arrived from Melilla, partied and returned. Once in the City of Melilla, the woman reported that she had been raped, that she was the victim of a sexual assault. In reality, it was all a lie. The complainant was arrested by the National Police. The accusation of false rape was made to cover up a night of consensual passion with a man…from her own girlfriend at home.
– According to her account, she met a man one night in a discotheque. According to the version given at the police station, after accompanying her to her hotel room, he entered the room and raped her.
– First the officers asked for the recordings from the security cameras. The officers began to see the attitude of the couple. The encounter appeared to be voluntary. The images showed her accompanied by the man she had denounced, who was dark-skinned and with whom she showed “clear signs of affection”. This is how they both entered the hotel room.
– Three hours later, the door of the room opened again. The man left the room, but so did she. The National Police, on viewing the images, saw how the complainant went out to see her lover off at the door. No evidence was detected in the course of the images to support the complaint made in Melilla.
– After these investigations, the agents in charge of the investigation wanted to support the case with the statement of a witness. They summoned the witness’s travelling companion, the one with whom she had come to Malaga on holiday for a few days, to give her testimony. This woman confirmed that there had been no mention of aggression, but that her friend the next morning had told her about the night of sex in the hotel room and how much fun it had been.
– With all this evidence, the National Police finally decided to dismiss the sexual aggression in that hotel and what they actually did was to open an investigation against the complainant. In this sense, the investigations carried out led to the discovery of the alleged commission of a crime against the administration of justice due to the simulation of being a victim of illegal acts.
