Tick infestation reaches Andalucía region, which is on alert for Lyme disease:

The Surveillance State Gets A New Toy- The Junta will launch its first nanosatellite that will make a full circle over Andalusia, taking a “film-strip” of your property, every two days: {Translation, summary}
– The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development will launch in the coming months its first nanosatellite into space called ‘Platero’, before the end of 2023. For the Minister of Agriculture, Carmen Crespo, it will also be an important step “in our commitment to cutting-edge technology, since its mission will be mainly to quantify the impact of climate change in the agricultural and fisheries sector and contribute to improving the management of biodiversity,” as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture in a press release. (Wait, the surveillance tasks are mentioned later on. -Ed.)
– The first Andalusian nanosatellite, which will finally be called ‘Platero’, consists of six cubes of ten centimetres per side and has a high-precision camera that will give ground resolution of almost five meters. The device will orbit at an altitude of 560 kilometres and will make a complete circle over Andalusia every two days.
– Surveillance Purposes. According to Crespo, “it will also be one of the most innovative nanosatellites designed so far and will collect images with a state-of-the-art multispectral camera”. In fact, Platero will be able to capture data, that will be dumped in real time on the same platform, together with those obtained by terrestrial and floating sensors through the IoT (Internet of Things, like door cams, smart-meters & roadside licence plate readers, all connected) observation technology to make the data more available to authorities, agencies and large corporations. (So every 2 days some agencies and various companies will get a digital “film-strip” of your property, and they will provide it to others. With current satellite camera tech, they can read licence plates from cars in your driveway. I don’t recall any vote on this mandate. More unapproved intrusion by a gov’t with a history of problems keeping data secure. This is an enormous opportunity for the data to be abused. Mysteries of the universe show returns to Malaga with Planetarium Go, a 360-degree cinema screen and a new interactive experience:
– A travelling planetarium (Technically it’s a movie presentation, not a real planetarium. – Ed.) will land in Malaga on 18 August and offer families a view of the universe most wouldn’t have seen before. Open every day until 3 September from 11am until 1.30pm, and from 5.30pm until 11pm. After 3 September, it will be open during the same hours, but from Wednesday to Sunday.
– Planetarium Go comes with a 360-degree spherical screen, a capacity for 64 people and presents films about the wonders of astronomy and science. It can be found in Muelle Uno until October, the same location as 2021, but this time, with new features. The planetarium has a new ten-metre diameter screen and a multi-projection system with high resolution and improved luminosity, as well as a multi-channel audio system with which the films can be followed in both English and Spanish. A Ray of Hope- ‘Radical shift’ with George Soros foundation scaling back in Europe amid major shakeup:
– Left-wing billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF) is backing out of much of Europe as the organization undergoes a massive change, according to Bloomberg. The OSF is scaling back a significant portion of its activities in the European Union as part of its reorganization following the appointment of new leadership, Bloomberg reported. Soros, who is 93 years old, transferred control of the $25 billion liberal philanthropic empire to his son Alexander Soros in June, who shortly after announced a substantial reduction in the foundation’s workforce of 40% or more.
– OSF referred to a “radical shift of strategic direction” in a fresh operational framework devised by OSF’s leadership that necessitates substantial additional reorganization, according to a letter sent to grantees in Hungary and given to Bloomberg.
– The shift was due to “EU institutions and governments … already allocating significant resources to human rights, freedom and pluralism,” according to the letter. OSF’s updated strategy will dedicate itself to other locations, according to an OSF internal email obtained by Reuters. “Ultimately, the new approved strategic direction provides for withdrawal and termination of large parts of our current work within the European Union, shifting our focus and allocation of resources to other parts of the world,” it states. Malware Unleashed- Public Sectors Worldwide Hit in Sudden Surge:
– The just-released BlackBerry Global Threat Intelligence Report reveals a 40% increase in cyberattacks against government and public service organizations versus the previous quarter. This includes public transit, utilities, schools, and other government services we rely on daily. With limited resources and often immature cyber defence programs, these publicly funded organizations are struggling against the double-pronged threat of attacks from both nation-states and the criminal underground.
– From March 2023 to May 2023, threat actors deployed approximately 11.5 attacks per minute. These threats included roughly 1.7 novel malware samples per minute, indicating a 13% increase from the previous reporting period’s average. This increase demonstrates that attackers are diversifying their tools by the minute in an attempt to bypass defensive controls.
– {This modifying of the attack tools every minute to avoid detection is done automatically by Artificial Intelligence (AI) hacker-tools. Anyone can now rent these hacker-tools for about €200 per month on hacker forums. On the other side, the good guys fight back with AI powered malware detection tools. So this has become an AI vs. AI battle. It will grow more complex rapidly, developing systems beyond the full comprehension of its human controllers, taking us all into uncharted waters, with no way of testing the results in advance. AI Advances Clickbait: {DigameXtra}
– As I bounce around the Internet I encounter a ton of ads. That’s normal. Many of these use outrageous, exaggerated headlines and distorted photos to attract your attention and earn that click as you follow your curiosity. They have taken this a step further now. I am noticing some of these clickbait photos are AI “deepfakes”, and use outright lies for a headline.
– For example, ad titled “Animals Rarely Seen” with a photo of an average size man next to a giant long-horn steer. The steer has been inflated to 3 stories tall. Sorry, these do not exist. In the past, they would have staged a photo with a dwarf next to an unusually large steer, and used the camera angle to add to the perception of the size difference. So a thin thread of truth did exist. Now they have moved into pure lies and fantasy. AI created the deceptive photo, and the ad headline outright lied to you on purpose. This type of fraudulent behaviour must be discouraged. If you see such fraudulent ads in a website you visit regularly, you can email a report of the misbehaviour to the website management, and include a screenshot of the offending ad if possible. If we don’t complain now it will only get worse…
