Your questions answered by Ruth from Compare Funerals Spain
– Why should I have a funeral plan? Having been funeral planning for over 10 year I’ve experienced some very sad and upset families when nothing is in place. A Spanish funeral plans will ensure that all costs are covered for your funeral service. Getting a prepaid plan will help you feel assured that your family will not be under any financial strain when it comes to paying for your funeral. A plan also means you can have peace of mind that everything has been organised in advance, so your loved ones do not have to make any difficult decisions.
– Why choose Compare Funerals? There seems to be a gap in Spain between independent funeral directors, offering plans at a good price but lacking the security of an established Trust or ability to cover a client overseas and Providers who seem to charge more than necessary. We want to be right in the middle and offer the best of both worlds. Our best-priced plan is only 2,250€ and does the essentials.
– Can I do a payment plan? All our plans are payable in full or over up to 5 years interest FREE. The interest free periods are based on initial deposit. The higher the deposit the less your monthly repayments will be.
– Can I transfer the plan? The answer is YES. You could name 2 people on one plan however if you had a friend/family member pass away we can transfer the plan into a 3rd party’s name.
– What happens if I move? All our plans offer the equivalent service in Spain (including the islands), Portugal, Republic of Ireland and the UK. If you moved to the UK, we would transfer the plan to one of our many partners at no extra cost to you.
– Is paperwork included? Yes, your family will receive a death certificate in Spanish and an international certification in English. We also provide a cremation certificate that allows the ashes on board a plane.

The rains reach the Viñuela reservoir, but they are not nearly enough to replenish: {Translation, summary}
– The rains last weekend, despite being received with open arms by the people of Malaga after so long, have not been equally grateful to all the reservoirs in the province. Although at least it can be said that they have discharged the greatest amount of water where it was needed most, that is, in Viñuela. The reservoir increased its accumulated water from 214.9 liters per square meter to 275.9, which is not enough to significantly increase its level, still at historic lows of 8.3%, according to data from the Hidrosur network of the Junta of Andalusia.
– Together, the seven reservoirs in the province are at 23.39%, which translates into 611.48 cubic hectometers. Its global volume has decreased in the last week by more than 4 units of this same measure, going from 147.23 to 143.05.

MALAGA PROVINCE
Three unique festivals this weekend in Malaga: Vendima, Viñeros and a Moors and Christians festival: {Translation}
– Harvest festival in Mollina. From September 8 to 10, Mollina celebrates the Harvest Festival , a three-day fair where the municipality celebrates and honors its product, its vineyards, its grapes, raisins and wines. They do it with a program full of wine tastings and workshops, music, flamenco and festivals that will keep Mollina alive during these days and that will attract a good number of visitors.
– Vineyard Festival in Moclinejo. This coming Sunday, September 10, the municipality of Moclinejo celebrates its Viñeros Festival, where it pays tribute to the farmers who dedicate and dedicated their lives to the cultivation of the Muscat grape. During this day, in addition to representing and exercising the grape treading, there will be tastings of grapes, wine and drinks, as well as a popular paella. There will be different performances and various workshops related to raisins will be given.
– Festival of Moors and Christians “The Embassy” in Alfarnate.
From September 7 to 12, Alfarnate celebrates its Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of Monsalud, its Moors and Christians Festival. It will be on Sunday the 10th when the Moors and Christians Festival will take place, which will feature a medieval market in the Plaza del Puente from 12:30 p.m. It will not be until 6:00 p.m. when The Embassy is represented with the beginning of the Moorish parade from Callejón Aljofar, with the theft of the Virgin by the Moorish troops and the subsequent recovery of the Christian side. New EU Internet Laws Result In Assorted Website Blocks: {DigameXtra} These new gov’t ordered, network level website blocks by the internet service providers are mostly effecting news outlets and streaming media services coming from outside the EU. There are ways to bypass this censorship, but I cannot discuss them here, due to more censorship by unelected officials enforcing laws I was never allowed to vote on! I just wanted to let readers who experience this that they are not alone, it is a widespread issue in the EU.

Microsoft is removing WordPad from Windows after nearly 30 years:
– Microsoft is no longer updating WordPad and plans to remove the word processor from a future release of Windows. The software giant will instead recommend Microsoft Word, its paid word processor that has always been far more feature rich than the basic WordPad app that has shipped as part of Windows since Windows 95.
– News of the WordPad removal comes just a day after Microsoft revealed it’s upgrading Notepad with features like autosave and automatic restoral of tabs. Microsoft will now remove WordPad entirely in a “future release of Windows,” which will most likely be the Windows 12 version we’re expecting to see in 2024 with plenty of AI-powered features (Yikes!). ARTIFICIAL INTELLEGENCE (AI)
Windows 12 will be the ultimate Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered snoop: {DoctorLaptop}
– Microsoft’s Windows 12, due out late next year, will not only collect every keystroke you make, every email and message, every search you do, everything you download & watch/listen to, the location of everywhere you use the computer and every website you visit, as they already do now unless you take extreme measures. AI in Win 12 will in addition analyse your typing habits, usage habits, the sounds you make and even those in the background, your facial expressions, and any other bio-metrics it can capture. They will use all this data to create ever more accurate profiles of every user. You will need to accept that using Windows 12 exposes all your data, everything, and be prepared to deal with the consequences. Passwords will get hacked more often, changing passwords every 3 months will become the norm. Unauthorized card payments will rise, you’ll need to check your monthly statements very closely, rejecting unknown charges will become part of your routine.
– Windows 12 will be able to block websites on a software level, meaning your VPN will be powerless to access websites Microsoft and their partners don’t want you to see. The VPN will continue to be useful however, to avoid geo-blocks on a network level and block snooping Internet Service Providers.
– Apple is not far behind, and Android is already just as bad as Windows. Even a few versions of Linux are suspect, fortunately most versions of Linux will remain secure and are your best choice of operating system if you want a reasonable degree of security, and access to all available websites, not only those Microsoft has deemed worthy.
– Experts are predicting that by 2026, 90% of the content you see on the internet will be AI created. It’s easy to spot some AI written articles. If you see entire passages or paragraphs inexplicably repeated in an article, that is probably AI. When you see akward sentances, technically gramatically correct, but presenting an idea in an incorrect logical sequence, or in a manner a native English speaker would never do, that’s probably AI. Look out for “generic sounding” writing, that discusses general topics when addressing specific items. Look for factual errors, AI was trained on internet content, and we know how much of that is false.
– What alternatives do you have? Investigate Linux and find a version you trust for your computers. As for smartphones, there are some highly secure models. These use Linux or modified Android operating systems. See this article for more info on secure smartphones, https://vpnoverview.com/privacy/devices/the-best-secure-smartphones-for-privacy/

Subsidised holidays for pensioners in Spain as part of the IMSERSO scheme will be delayed by up to three months:
– The Spanish government’s scheme – which has tourist packages up for grabs along the peninsular’s coast, the islands and in inland areas of Spain – has suffered a setback due to a disagreement over the awarding of its contract. This has been sparked by Soltour, Mundiplan and Seniorplan, whose bids were rejected, and is now expected to cause a delay in the implementation of the trips of at least three months. Gary Wright, “Dream Weaver” & “Love Is Alive” Singer, Dies at 80:
The singer and keyboardist known for the 1970s synthesizer-driven hits “Dream Weaver” and “Love Is Alive,” has died. He was 80. Wright died Monday at his home in Palos Verdes Estates. The New Jersey native also was a member of the British-based rock band Spooky Tooth.
Wright recorded solo for A&M Records, formed the band Wonderwheel and collaborated with other artists, including playing keyboard on George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass album, released in 1970. In 1973, Spooky Tooth reunited briefly and released the cult classic album “You Broke My Heart So… I Busted Your Jaw”. Wright recorded 10 albums during his career, including The Dream Weaver in 1975, which featured “Dream Weaver” and “Love Is Alive.”
– Wright’s passing came on the tail of two other top musicians of their era. On Sept. 2, “Margaritaville” singer Jimmy Buffett died at 76 and on the same day Wright passed, Steve Harwell, the lead singer of 1990s band Smash Mouth, died of cancer.
