MOONETTE – Organic Skincare for Mature Skin
We are a Torrox-based company specialising in the creation of formulae which help prevent premature skin ageing. We are committed to making effective products at affordable prices.
Your skin health matters to us. How you feed your skin is as important as how you feed your body. Why settle for anything less than natural and organic?
As our skin is the first layer of our defence against microbial infections, ultraviolet radiation and environmental contamination it plays a vital role in our health. As we grow older, however, our skin becomes thinner, wrinkled, and more sensitive; hence it requires the use of treatments containing specific ingredients to the care of treating mature skin.
Recognising this need we have created a range of formulae which help
-slow down ageing process by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
-improve facial complexion and eliminate blemishes.
At Moonette, we are passionate about health, beauty and plants. Your skin will benefit from the properties of botanic essential oils combined with a selection of nutrients for deep hydration, cell revitalization and antioxidant effect, all sourced from the finest natural ingredients with gorgeous fragrances.
Naturally, we care about our planet and feel the need to help reduce the sheer volumes of plastics waste that are generated daily around the globe. Presently, we are minimizing the usage of plastic materials in our production while seeking alternative forms of packaging. To help reduce pollution we are asking all local customers to recycle or reuse their Moonette skincare containers, and offering a small discount on future purchases to customers recycling containers.

This week’s featured dogs needing homes.
– Maisie DOB 10.03.21 & Treacle (awaiting information). Unfortunately, their owner has recently passed away, and we need to find new homes. It would be ideal if they could be homed together as they are very close, but not essential. Both are good with other dogs and cats.
– Monty DOB 03.01.19 & Charlie DOB 10.06.18. These are 2 of our special cases that have been in kennels for a long time. Monty is a Dalmatian Cross, a loyal loving dog, but can be reactive to small dogs, he has a high hunting instinct, and is great with humans. Charlie is a stunning GSD, he unfortunately has some issues stemming from his previous life, but has come on tremendously in the last few months. He is good with other dogs. Both Monty & Charlie will need experienced owners, or foster carers, without other dogs or children. Contact us for full information.
These are 4 of our dogs looking for homes of their own. All are fully vaccinated, neutered, chipped and have passports. Please take a look at our website, where you will find more information and photos, plus details of other dogs and pups that we have in our care. Our adoption costs are 110e for pups that have been fully vaccinated, rabies, chip and passport and 180e for older dogs that have all vaccinations, papers and have been neutered. This contributes towards their vet and care costs, and helps us to continue rescuing abandoned dogs and cats.

Seville City Council announces that hackers have accessed the citizen’s information database: {Translation, summary}
– The Seville city council suffered a cyber-attack that is still blocking the computer systems, according to what the delegate for the Treasury, Citizen Participation and Digital Transformation, Juan Bueno, told journalists. The prime suspect is the Dutch group Lockbit, one of the most active in these actions.
– Cybersecurity experts have assured this Wednesday that the hackers who attacked the Seville City Council’s computer system did have access to the information, since otherwise “it would not have been possible for this information to have been encrypted”. “This type of attack takes a lot of work, and in fact one of the latest trends is for cybercriminals to take a copy of the information before encrypting it,” said Luis Corrons, Security Evangelist at Avast, an expert in computer security.
– According to Corrons, everything seems to indicate that this is an attack “with ransomware similar to that suffered by dozens of administrations, companies and institutions in Spain” after which, to become operational again, the City Council needs to analyse the origin to “close the doors and prevent it from happening again”. It will also have to restore the information from the backup copies it has at its disposal, since “until all these steps are taken, all the computers connected to the network will be at risk”, according to the expert. {NOTE: If you believe you have any information or docs stored on their servers, property titles/licences/etc., be on the lookout for scam phishing emails, using this info to convince you the scam email is legit. -Ed.} Source, Spanish: https://andaluciainformacion.es/andalucia/1348643/los-piratas-digitales-del-ayuntamiento-de-sevilla-han-accedido-a-informacion-de-ciudadanos/

More than 20 other councils also at risk of going bust after Birmingham declares effective bankruptcy:
– Birmingham Council was warned not to host the Commonwealth Games before the bankruptcy. Birmingham City Council ignored advice not to host the Commonwealth Games despite “serious” financial difficulties, after it was effectively declared bankrupt this week. Official advisers told council bosses that they should focus on its budgetary problems – warning that Birmingham would not have the resources to put on a major international sporting event in 2022.
– On Tuesday, the Labour-run council, Europe’s largest local authority, issued a section 114 notice – which means all new spending will stop immediately and is likely to lead to cuts of several services.
– A recent survey by SIGOMA (the Special Interest Group of Municipal Authorities) which represents 47 councils in the north, Midlands and south coast, revealed that five members are considering issuing section 114 notices this year, while a further nine believe it could be necessary next year. A further eight councils who are not in this group are reported to be at risk of the move, which would bring the potential total in England to 22.

Apple says, “Update your iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch now!”:
– Apple has patched a software flaw that let hackers spy without anyone clicking a link.
– The company has released emergency software updates in iOS 14.8 after learning of this vulnerability that let hackers break into Apple devices without any user interaction or clicks.
– “After identifying the vulnerability used by this exploit for iMessage, Apple rapidly developed and deployed a fix in iOS 14.8 to protect our users,” said Ivan Krstic, head of Apple Security Engineering and Architecture, in a statement to Insider.
– “This spyware can do everything an iPhone user can do on their device and more,” the Citizen Lab researcher John Scott-Railton told The Times. The Citizen Lab said it discovered the exploit, which it calls Forced Entry, in March. The lab believes Forced Entry has been at work since at least February.
– No patch for iOS versions previous to iOS 14.8 has yet been released, so it is urgent everyone have the newest iOS version installed. Full article: https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-fixed-iphone-flaw-let-hackers-spy-without-link-clicks-2021-9

The Truth About Seeing New Comet Nishimura With Your Naked Eyes:
– The arrival of a naked-eye comet is exciting, but as usual reports about the visibility of Comet Nishimura need to be taken with a large pinch of salt. Comet Nishimura is predicted to become bright enough to see with the naked eye, around Sept. 12, 2023 when it gets closest to Earth through Sept. 17 when it gets closest to the sun. However, it will not only be lost in the bright post-sunset twilight during this time, but it may not emerge from its close pass of the sun unscathed. It may drastically reduce in brightness. Or worse, it might disintegrate entirely.
– What it won’t do in all of its time as a bright, technically naked eye object is rise high into a dark sky to actually be easily seen with the naked eye. Annoying celestial mechanics means that the best you can hope for from Comet Nishimura is to glimpse it low to the western horizon right after sunset. For that, it would be wise to have binoculars on hand- and a lot of patience. Photo taken in Nerja, 12Aug23, by Hideo Nishimura. FINANCIAL
This is the rent supplement check of €525 for retirees that you can request now from Imserso: {Translation, summary}
– Although only 5% of retired people live in rented accommodation, if they receive a non-contributory pension, they are likely to find it difficult to make ends meet. Hence the importance of the cheque of 525 euros, also known as the ‘rent supplement’, offered by the Institute for the Elderly and Social Services (Imserso). However, in order to receive it, they have to meet a series of requirements.
– Beneficiaries of a non-contributory pension, that is, people who did not contribute long enough to collect the Social Security contributory modality, can opt for this single payment of 525 euros. The amount of pension that they receive barely reaches 50% of the Minimum Interprofessional Salary (SMI): in 2023, the benefit was between 6,784.54 euros and 1,696.14 euros per year. This help is divided into 14 payments, so it ranges between 484.61 and 121.15 euros per month, which corresponds to the minimum of 25% . But, in order to receive the ‘rental supplement’, it is necessary to meet certain conditions:
*Have recognized a non-contributory retirement or disability pension from Social Security on the date of the application and on the date of the resolution.
*Not owning a home.
*Be the owner of the rental contract of the house.
*Not having a marital or kinship relationship up to the third degree with the landlord of the rented property.
*Have your residence fixed, as habitual residence , in a rented house. Thus, the validity of the lease must not be less than one year and you must have resided in it for a minimum period of 180 days prior to the date of the request.
*Before requesting the check for 525 euros, it should be taken into account that, if two or more people who receive a non-contributory pension live in the same rented house, only those who are holders of the lease contract will be entitled to this aid.
– Interested persons may direct the request for this supplement to the competent bodies of the respective Autonomous Communities. The procedure can be carried out in person or electronically through the online service provided by each autonomous community. Most of the communities establish the need to identify themselves with an electronic ID or digital certificate to access the management. The application period for 2022 ends on December 31, 2023. Nerja and Almuñéca Anglican Church Sunday services: 12:00 noon – San Miguel, Plaza Andalucia, Nerja
We are part of the Church of England in Spain.
Everyone is welcome to our Sunday services in English which begin at 12:00 noon in San Miguel, Plaza Andalucia, Nerja. Please note, this not the large white church near the Balcon de Europa, El Salvador. San Miguel is situated some 10 minutes walk away, just off the main road that runs through the town.
We aspire to be a welcoming and inclusive community, open to all people seeking faith and friendship.
Please contact Father Peter Goodall to enquire about baptisms, marriage blessings and funerals.
If you can’t get to church on Sunday, we gather on Zoom for a communion service at 09:30 CET on Wednesday mornings and a Compline service at 18:00 CET on Thursdays.
To receive details of how you can join our online services or to contact Father Peter, please refer to our website. You can also find us on Facebook.
We look forward to welcoming you and being of service.

El Puente Christian Fellowship:
We are a friendly, multi-national, Bible believing community of Christ. We meet each Sunday at 11am to worship the Lord. We enjoy a time of worship with contemporary songs and traditional hymns, and a message brought to us by our Pastor, one of our members or a visiting speaker.
Bible study is at 6pm on Tuesdays.
The church meeting hall is situated underneath Maroma Inmobiliaria, Puente don Manuel, Cruce de Periana, 29713.
Full directions and further information can be found on our Facebook page, or you can contact us by email on elpuentechristianfellowship@gmail.com or by phone on 665 62 63 42.
For those who cannot join us in person, we aim to stream Sunday services via the Facebook page (subject to a good internet connection).
