Casabermeja celebrates its famous Fiesta de la Cabra Malagueña (Malaga Goat Festival): 15-17 Sep.

British motorists given urgent driving licence warning before changes next week:
– Motorists have been handed an important reminder of upcoming driving licence changes set to affect thousands of Britons.
– The GOV.UK states that UK or Gibraltar licence holders who moved to Spain before March 16 and fail to exchange their licences by September 15 will no longer be able to drive on their UK licence. If this were to occur, the licence holder “will need to wait until their licence exchange has been completed to drive after that”.

British residents unable to drive in Spain from Friday, licence exchange process still flawed:
– From Friday, scores of British residents in Spain will no longer be able to drive on a UK driving licence plus the licence exchange system is still flawed.
– The DGT Spanish traffic department is continuing to refuse to accept paper licences, despite assurances from the British Embassy that according to the latest agreement between the British and Spanish governments, paper licences are valid.
– Well, they are not, and the DGT in Palma has made that blatantly clear to the Bulletin and judging by comments on social media platforms, it is not just in Mallorca where traffic departments are adamant that paper licences are not valid.
– What is more, for British residents in Spain who no longer have a place of residence in the UK, they cannot exchange their paper licence for a new biometric one the DVLA has told the Bulletin.
– So, for those expatriates in Spain who have a paper licence, which are valid until they expire in the UK and other EU countries, as of Friday, the latest deadline in what will surely be the last window, they can no longer drive on a UK licence although they can drive a hire car. Apple’s new iPhones get faster chips, better cameras and new charging ports + new Apple watches:
– The iPhone 15, due in stores September 22, will adopt a USB-C charging standard that Apple had to adopt to comply with a mandate by European regulators. The shift to USB-C may be a popular move since that standard typically charges devices more quickly and also offers faster data transfer speeds.
– The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max also will be equipped with what Apple maintains is the equivalent of seven camera lens. They will include periscope-style telephoto lens that will improve the quality of photos taken from far distances. The telephoto lens boasts a 5x optical zoom, which lags behind the 10x optical zoom on Samsung’s premium Galaxy S22 Ultra, but represents an upgrade from the 3x optical zoom on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
– Apple is encasing the premium models in titanium that the company says is the same alloy used on some space ships.
– Besides its new iPhones, Apple also announced its next generation of smartwatches. The Series 9 Apple Watch, available in stores September 22, will include a new gesture control that will enable users to control alarms and answer phone calls by double snapping their thumbs with a finger.
