DoctorLaptop Computer Services:
– If you rely on your computer and want it running at peak performance, free of data collectors and trackers, an annual professional servicing is necessary. You wouldn’t drive your car till it runs out of oil before servicing it, would you? I do the most comprehensive cleaning and tune-up possible: verify all System files replacing any found to be corrupt, test all hardware and do hard disk sector repairs if needed, use 5 tool malware/adware/spyware/tracker removal protocol, clean out junk files/logs/history/etc., update Windows(or MacOS)+all drivers+programs and finally optimize your settings and registry for fastest overall performance.
– Heavily infected comps, computers taking more than 2 minutes to startup or shutdown, or showing error messages, those need a repair, not a maintenance service. HDD hard disks of 1000Gb or more add €10.

ANDALUCIA
34 arrested following the dismantling of a criminal gang running computer scams in Andalucia- the primary scams explained: {Translation, summary}
– National Police officers have dismantled a criminal organisation that allegedly carried out various computer scams and had data on more than four million people, according to a press release.
– Specifically, 34 members of the criminal group have been arrested and 16 searches have been carried out in locations in the provinces of Madrid, Malaga, Huelva, Alicante and Murcia, where 80,000 euros in cash, four high-end vehicles, a database with cross-referenced information on four million people and computer and electronic material valued at thousands of euros have been seized.
– The criminal organisation carried out fraudulent activities worth almost three million euros in various types of scams.
– The investigation identified a criminal network that illegally accessed the databases of various financial and credit institutions, depositing different amounts of money from the credit institution into the clients’ accounts. They then contacted these victims informing them that they had received a loan due to a computer error and that they had to pay it back, this payment going to to the scammers.
– As the investigation progressed, it was discovered that they also penetrated other multinational commercial databases, obtaining personal data of more than four million people that could have been used to commit their criminal activities. This information was used to carry out ‘vishing’ campaigns simulating the identity of electricity supply companies, phishing campaigns impersonating the identity of different banking entities and the well known ‘son in trouble’ scam.
– In addition, they made profits of another three million euros by selling to other criminal organisations pre-made “trap” websites programmed by the organisation’s hackers (such as fake websites of banking institutions, mass mailing programmes or cross-databases) through specialised forums.
– The main leaders of the network have been remanded in custody and more than 1,000 complaints have been clarified, and the identification of more perpetrators and victims has not been ruled out. AXARQUIA
New squall will bring showers during the day on Monday:
{Translation}
– The Bernard squall will leave rainfall this Sunday (22/10) in Axarquia, mainly at the end of the day and especially during the day on Monday.
– The Bernard squall will move quickly to the north of the peninsula, but an Atlantic trough will continue to leave showers and thunderstorms in the region on Monday. Meteorology expects very cloudy skies in Andalusia with widespread showers, occasionally thunderstorms, less likely and frequent in the far east of the region. Morning fog is likely in the sierras. Temperatures rising in the far east, and unchanged or falling in the rest. Winds will blow from the west or southwest, increasing to strong with very strong gusts on the Almeria coast and high eastern areas.
– The instability will start to ease from Tuesday onwards. AEMET forecasts, still with a certain degree of uncertainty, that the rest of the week will be dominated by a regime of wet westerly winds over the Peninsula, but with fronts and squalls entering from the northwest of the country. This situation would cause the arrival of some weakened cloudy fronts in Axarquia, with some light rain, more likely in the interior of the region. The whole Axarquia region will have water restrictions of 20% in November if it does not rain soon: {Translation, summary}
– The 31 municipalities of the Axarquia region of Malaga will be affected by restrictions on water supply by 20 percent from November onwards if the long-awaited rains do not come, a measure intended to prevent the aquifers from running out of water soon in the face of the drought situation. This will establish such restrictions in 17 municipalities in which they had not yet been implemented and which would be added to the 14 where they were imposed in July. These include the towns of Nerja, Frigiliana, Cómpeta, Canillas de Albaida, Sedella, Salares, Canillas de Aceituno, Alcaucín and Riogordo, which make up a territorial unit with a “serious situation” in this respect since 1 August and which is mostly supplied by its own underground resources.
– However, next week rain is forecast, and if sufficient, the measures may not have to be carried out.
– Last Thursday’s rain has had little effect on the La Viñuela reservoir, while in Sierra Tejeda and Almijara it has rained a little more. Source, Spanish: https://andaluciainformacion.es/andalucia/1390119/toda-la-comarca-de-la-axarquia-con-restricciones-de-agua-del-20-en-noviembre-si-no-llueve/
MALAGA CITY
Elderly couple attacked and injured outside Malaga hospital by young jewellery thief:
– At around 6pm last Saturday, a male young thief violently attacked and injured an elderly woman while attempting to steal her chain from around her neck. Such was the violence used that he also knocked her to the ground. The alleged attack happened just outside the entrance to Malaga’s Hospital Civil.
– Seeing the woman as an easy target, he pounced on her and also snatched a ring from her finger. Her elderly husband rushed to help his wife and confronted the thief, but was also knocked to the ground. Immediately afterwards, the thief tried to flee the scene.
– By chance, an off-duty Local Police officer who was off-duty witnessed the incident and quickly went to arrest the criminal, after a chase that lasted a few minutes. 15 year old player suffers cardiac arrest during football match in Granada: {Translation, summary}
– A 15-year-old player suffered a cardiac arrest during half-time of a football match in Granada on Saturday and was saved thanks to the quick intervention of the delegate of the rival team, CF Reino de Granada. The young CD Regina Mundi cadet was taken to hospital to recover.
– It was at the end of the first half of the match, when the player, who was on his way to the dressing room, suddenly fainted and fell to the ground. The coach of the CF Reino de Granada cadet team, José Ortega {pic}, acted quickly and used the defibrillator following the protocol, saving the youngster’s life.
– The Regina Mundi player, who is called Álvaro and is 15 years old, was taken to hospital, where he was conscious and under observation on Saturday. Source, Spanish: https://www.europapress.es/andalucia/noticia-salvan-vida-jugador-cadete-partido-futbol-granada-20231022134726.html
EUROPE
The epicenter of the worst bird flu crisis in history, with 250 million birds culled, shifts to Europe:
– Humanity is facing the worst bird flu crisis on record. Since the disease’s resurgence in the 2020-2021 season, at least 250 million poultry have been culled around the world to nip outbreaks in the bud, according to data from epidemiologist Vijay Dhanasekaran of the University of Hong Kong. The figures are unprecedented: during this period, over 100,000 wild birds of 400 different species have died, with the disease making worrisome jumps to mammals, such as the one observed at an American mink fur farm in Galicia, Spain, and the massive deaths of sea lions on the beaches of Peru. The new avian influenza virus subtype is everywhere. Dhanasekaran’s team has investigated the pathogen’s evolution. On Wednesday, he warned that “the epicenter” of the crisis has shifted from Asia to Europe and Africa. Experts are bracing for the imminent onset of the typical November outbreaks caused by the arrival of migratory birds from the Arctic. Full article:

– The Andalusian Health Service (SAS) has begun to send SMS to users’ mobile devices, with the aim of making it easier for them to subscribe to the ‘AviSAS’ notification system.
– According to a note from the Andalusian government, after analysing the results obtained with this first wave sent, these SMS will be gradually extended to other citizens to invite them to register in the system through the following text: “If you wish to receive notifications from the SAS appointments, notices, etc., you can request it at: avisas. lajunta/12345”, where the identification number will be unique per citizen.
