MOONETTE – Organic Skincare for Mature Skin
We are a Torrox-based company specialising in the creation of formulae which help prevent premature skin ageing. We are committed to making effective products at affordable prices.
Your skin health matters to us. How you feed your skin is as important as how you feed your body. Why settle for anything less than natural and organic?
As our skin is the first layer of our defence against microbial infections, ultraviolet radiation and environmental contamination it plays a vital role in our health. As we grow older, however, our skin becomes thinner, wrinkled, and more sensitive; hence it requires the use of treatments containing specific ingredients to the care of treating mature skin.
Recognising this need we have created a range of formulae which help
-slow down ageing process by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
-improve facial complexion and eliminate blemishes.
At Moonette, we are passionate about health, beauty and plants. Your skin will benefit from the properties of botanic essential oils combined with a selection of nutrients for deep hydration, cell revitalization and antioxidant effect, all sourced from the finest natural ingredients with gorgeous fragrances.
Naturally, we care about our planet and feel the need to help reduce the sheer volumes of plastics waste that are generated daily around the globe. Presently, we are minimizing the usage of plastic materials in our production while seeking alternative forms of packaging. Inflammation – A Psychological Thriller:
– Set in London, Brighton, Oxford, and Málaga; this fast paced novel follows Adam, a Psychologist, as he struggles to cope with life after the brutal murder of his truest love, Lorelei, at the hands of her abusive ex-partner. In the midst of his grief, and the guilt from his sense of having failed her; he lives on countdown, awaiting the release of the perpetrator. Furious with a criminal justice system that by its very nature only ever acts after the event, and increasingly feeling the need to do something for the cause in the meantime; the obsessive urge to intervene using his psychological skills, overpowers him. Will he even make it to the release date, or will he already have gone too far?
– I wrote this novel in and around Málaga province; in Torrox and Nerja particularly. It is a psychological/suspense/crime thriller, and would certainly be rated 18+ in places. It is available on Amazon in paperback and ebook in various countries. The links for the UK and Spain are below, and it is best to order it from where you currently are, and/or to where you would like it delivered. I very much hope you enjoy it (please leave a nice amazon review if so); and a big heartfelt thank you to anyone who orders it, and in doing so, is supporting an independent author.

Political Chess Game- The PP will reform the Senate regulations to delay the approval of the amnesty law well past the end of the investiture period, countering Sanchez plan to trade amnesty for votes: {Translation}
– The PP has registered this Thursday a reform of the Senate regulations to give power to the Bureau of the Upper House, where Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s PP party has an absolute majority, to decide whether or not to apply the urgency procedure to bills, as will foreseeably be the case with the amnesty bill.
– According to PP sources, the intention is to modify article 133 of the Senate’s regulations so that, in bills, the Bureau can decide whether to apply the urgency procedure, when requested by the Government or the Congress of Deputies. In this way, it would delay the processing of the amnesty law that the PSOE is agreeing with the Catalan pro-independence parties and which is expected to be presented this week. More Political Chess- Vox registers a reform of the Senate Regulations, in addition to the PP reform mentioned above, to paralyze the Sanchez amnesty bill until there are mandatory reports presented: {Translation}
– Vox has also registered a proposal to reform the Senate’s Rules of Procedure with which it seeks to give the power to the Presidency of the Chamber to suspend the processing of bills that do not have mandatory reports, such as the amnesty law agreed between the PSOE and the pro-independence parties.
– This is a proposal that Vox registered last Tuesday, like the PP’s proposal to delay the amnesty, although in this case Vox seeks to paralyse the amnesty law until there are mandatory reports.
– The text of the initiative asks to reform the Regulations so that “once a bill approved by Congress has been received in the Senate, in the event of not having incorporated the reports which, if this initiative had been presented by the Government as a bill, would have been mandatory in accordance with the law or laws applicable in each case, one or more senators may demand its incorporation before continuing its processing”.
– In view of this, the Presidency of the Senate, which is held by PP’s Pedro Rollán, will request the aforementioned reports and, until they are received, the processing of the amnesty bill will be suspended.
– {The last day of the investiture is 27 November, so for Sanchez to prevail, these reports must be received long enough before then to allow processing of the amnesty bill, and if adopted, then the investiture vote that would follow. -Ed.}

MALAGA CITY
Malaga Regional nurses warn that they “will not be held responsible” for errors due to lack of personnel: {Translation, summary}
– Delimitation of responsibility. This is the name of the letter that some nurses at the Regional Hospital are beginning to send to the management to warn them that the lack of staff is reaching limits that they consider dangerous and that could lead them to make a mistake. “In these conditions it is impossible for us to provide our care with guarantees for the safety of our patients and ourselves,” reads the document.
– The text has been drawn up with legal advice from the Nursing Union (Satse) and is a standard model. It points out that “there are cases of personal and professional insecurity” and that “under no circumstances should professional duties be carried out under this type of pressure, which should be taken into account in the event of any incident”.
– Satse estimates that the hospital is short of 300 nurses. This is forcing more and more staff to be taken out of one area to fill a gap in another. This situation has two effects: on the one hand, those who stay have fewer professionals to attend to patients and on the other, those who leave their usual unit go to another whose dynamics, cures, doses and equipment they are not familiar with.
– In the response to the nurse’s letter, the management reply reminds them that Law 55/2003 “does not recognise in its articles the right to the delimitation of responsibility that they claim.” Source, Spanish: https://www.malagahoy.es/malaga/Enfermeros-Regional-Malaga-advierten-responsables_0_1843917607.html
GASTRONOMY
Consumer Affairs warns of illegal practices in bars and restaurants: {Translation, summary}
– Offering the menu only by QR code, not including VAT in prices, refusing to accept cash or to deny free tap water, these are not permitted.
– These are illegal practices in restaurants and bars which, once detected, can be the subject of a complaint or denunciation to the appropriate Consumer Administration.
– Can the bar or restaurant offer its menu only through QR codes? No, the prices of food and beverages and the services offered must be displayed to the public by means of food and beverage menus and/or price lists. Other means such as murals, blackboards or similar, which must display the information in Spanish, are also allowed.
– The separate charging of an extra amount for cutlery or service is illegal. The prices of off-menu products, like any other product offered in the establishment, must be clearly and visibly displayed in advance. Prices must always be complete, so it is not legal practice for prices on the menu not to include VAT.
– The establishment may never force customers to leave a tip or take advantage of the illegal concept of service charge for the compulsory payment of a tip.
– If the consumer contacts the bar or restaurant to make a reservation, it is prohibited for the establishment to charge an additional amount for this, although an amount may be requested in advance, which would be deducted from the final price paid.
– Hotel and catering establishments cannot refuse to accept cash payment – although the maximum limit for cash payment is limited by law to 1,000 euros. However, they are not obliged to make card payment available, but they must inform consumers of this.
– If paying by card, it is illegal for the establishment to charge an additional fee for the use of a particular debit or credit card.
– Charges for bread service, snacks and the like are legal as long as they are clearly and visibly disclosed in advance by the establishment and included in the price list advertised to consumers.
– The invoice issued by the establishment after the service has been provided must contain a detailed breakdown of the items consumed.
– It is possible that the price for consumption at the table or on the terrace may be different, but consumers must be informed of this difference beforehand, and it must be advertised on the menu, price lists and in any advertising medium used.
– The expression ‘price according to market’ for certain products is expressly prohibited. In the case of charcuterie, cheese or other products that can be cut from a main product, offers shall be made to the public by unit weight. In the case of molluscs or crustaceans, offers shall be made either by weight or by unit. In the latter case, the number must be indicated.
– An illegal practice regarding the request for water. For example, if the consumer asks for tap water and is informed that only bottled water can be purchased, this would be in breach of current regulations. Hotel and catering establishments must always offer the possibility of consuming unbottled water free of charge.
– On the Consumo Responde website (https://www.consumoresponde.es/), there is a section detailing irregular practices in hotels and restaurants. Source, Spanish: https://www.granadadigital.es/consumo-advierte-ilegal-bares-restaurantes-cobren-cantidad-extra-cubierto-servicio/
HEALTH
College of Physicians of Malaga asks the Board to prohibit the sale of energy drinks to minors: {Translation, summary}
– Doctors consider the consumption of energy drinks among minors to be “a public health problem” due to the cardiovascular and neurological risks they pose as well as the alterations they can cause in sleep and behaviour. For this reason, the Malaga Medical Association is calling on the Junta to ban their sale to adolescents under the age of 18.
– The association points out that in recent years there has been an increase in their consumption among the underage population, who have incorporated them into their daily lives “as if they were just another soft drink”. However, the institution points out that when consumed on a regular basis “it has really harmful effects on health”.
– The president recalled that energy drinks contain amounts of caffeine, taurine and sugar that are twice the daily dose recommended by the World Health Organisation. “They should not drink them; doing so on a regular basis entails cardiovascular and neurological risks, psychological problems and alterations in behaviour and sleep. They can cause arrhythmias and irritability,” the institution said. Source, Spanish: https://www.malagahoy.es/malaga/Colegio-Medicos-Malaga-Junta-energeticas_0_1844516142.html
TECH
European privacy officials widen ban on Meta’s (Facebook and Instagram) behavioral advertising to most of Europe:
– European officials widened a ban on Meta’s “behavioral advertising” practices to most of Europe on Wednesday, setting up a broader conflict between the continent’s privacy-conscious institutions and an American technology giant.
– Behavioral advertising, used by Meta’s Facebook and Instagram among many other tech companies, involves observing individual behavior such as browsing habits, mouse clicks and app usage, then using that data to build profiles for targeting ads.
– The decision by the European Data Protection Board represents a sharp escalation of a tussle that began in Norway, where privacy officials imposed a daily fine of 1 million kroner (roughly $90,000) on Meta for obtaining that data without adequate consent. Those fines have been piling up since August 14.
– Tobias Judin, head of the international section at the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, said “Meta’s business model is at odds with the law and users’ fundamental rights, and Meta will not back down willingly.” “They continue with their unlawful activities to this very day, simply because breaking the law is so profitable.” Full article: https://apnews.com/article/meta-targeted-ads-ban-europe-1c445e4156babdc098b94e8348e1f33d

Politically Correct Foolishness- Ornithological society to rename 80 birds, stop naming them after people:
– Birds in North America will no longer be named after people, the American Ornithological Society announced Wednesday. Next year, the organization will begin to rename around 80 species found in the U.S. and Canada.
– “There is power in a name, and some English bird names have associations with the past that continue to be exclusionary and harmful today,” the organization’s president, Colleen Handel, said in a statement. “Everyone who loves and cares about birds should be able to enjoy and study them freely.”
– Birds that will be renamed include those currently called Wilson’s warbler and Wilson’s snipe, both named after the 19th century naturalist Alexander Wilson. Audubon’s shearwater, a seabird named for John James Audubon, also will get a new name. In 2020, the organization renamed a bird once referring to a Confederate Army general, John P. McCown, as the thick-billed longspur. Full article: https://apnews.com/article/bird-renaming-american-ornithological-society-aee0f0b0d1cc9ae3326bc44a2d1f55e8
SCAMS
Emergency calls, it may not be your child, it may be an Artificial Intelligence: {Translation, summary}
– Recently, we have discovered that AI is being used to carry out phone call scams. A shocking example is the case of Jennifer DeStefano, a mother who received a call from someone who sounded identical to her daughter and heard the words: “I screwed up”. What followed this disturbing message was a ransom demand of one million dollars for the supposed release of her 15-year-old daughter. Jennifer, in desperation, offered all her savings, around $50,000. Fortunately, other family members contacted the girl’s father and the police, which eventually revealed that the girl was safe and had not been kidnapped. Jennifer DeStefano had been the victim of sophisticated digital impersonation.
– This example illustrates how advanced some scams have become, and reminds us of the importance of remaining vigilant. We are already familiar with the technique of “vishing”, whereby we should not respond to calls from unknown or hidden numbers.
***Protect You Smartphones***
– To avoid problems, a key recommendation is to activate the spam filter function, available on Android and iOS operating systems. Enabling this feature reduces the likelihood of receiving calls from numbers that the system identifies as potentially risky. In addition, it is essential to be wary of phone calls requesting confidential information, as they could be a ploy used by criminals to impersonate known individuals or even public figures.
-Here’s how to do it on both operating systems:
* For Android: Most Android phones come with Google’s “Phone” app. Open the app and tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner to open the menu. Then select “Settings” > “Caller ID & Spam”. Here you can activate the “Filter spam calls and messages” function. You can also report spam calls and messages to improve this feature.
* For iPhones: Apple iOS has a “Caller ID and Spam” feature that can be activated. Go to “Settings” > “Phone” and turn on the “Caller ID and Spam” option. This will help spam calls and messages to be automatically identified and flagged. New Life Church: Whether you live in Nerja or are visiting our area, you are very welcome to come and join us at our Sunday gathering. Join us for a time of Holy Spirit led worship and experience the presence of our God. Our teaching is Bible based as we honour God and obey His Word. During this time of uncertainty, God’s Word reminds us that the Gospel shines brightest in times of darkness. Our service lasts for about 1 hour and 30 mins. With Tea and Coffee afterwards.
– Prayer Meeting: You are also welcome to join our prayer meetings on Wednesday mornings at 11.00am for 1 hour, where we meet for prayer and worship.
