As I promised, it’s been ten and a half months free of donation requests. After the last few stragglers were added into last year’s donation drive total, we finally reached the target goal. Well done & thanks again! The holiday season is returning. So now I must begin the DigameXtra 2023 Holiday Donation Drive. I can only produce DigameXtra with the financial support of my readers. So please consider the value you have received this passing year and show your support with a donation. This year’s goal is to receive a donation from 3% of subscribers. If just 3 of each 100 subscribers make a donation the goal will be attained! The 3% group finances DigameXtra for the 97% group that don’t donate. Which group will you belong to? Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Just like your morning coffee,
what would you do
without your morning DigameXtra?
-Holiday Donation Info-
You may drop cash donations off in person and say hello, after 2pm M-F by appointment, or place them in my mailbox beside my door anytime. Both the door and the mailbox have the name HARRIS on them. Email me for map and directions. Cash donations are strongly preferred.
Alternatively, you may send me an Amazon ES (Spain) “eGift card” by email. You need to have an Amazon.es account. The only info you may need is my name and email address, see those below. Typically you will only need my email address. Remember, this is an “eGift card” sent to me by Amazon, don’t buy a plain “gift card”. Use the link provided below to access the “eGift card” purchase page. I will only know who sent it if you put your name in the “gift message” (mensaje) box of the purchase form.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND AMAZON UK eGIFT CARDS
Here is the Amazon.es eGift Card Link, (NOTE: YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY AMOUNT YOU LIKE ON THE FORM, it is set at €50 by default):

This popular monthly Car Boot/ Market is on Sunday 3rd December at El Pantano Restaurant car park overlooking Lake Vinuela. Time 9.30 am to 1pm.

We not only have British stallholders and visitors but are quite International too. Our stallholders pride themselves on their items and many have been supporting the market for many years. This month I am highlighting just a few stallholders as it is near to the Christmas festive season, but must emphasize that not only do we sell high quality secondhand items but new also.
To name a few items that are popular such as clothing, all types of household items including furniture and glassware, tools, garden equipment but lovely handicrafts and artisan also.
I have picked out just 4 stallholders this month who have been with us for a long time.
We pride ourselves on having the following stalls although there are many others which will also be highlighted in other adverts.
A husband and wife team selling high quality fruits in season from their orchard and different marmalades, chutneys, pickles etc., sourced again from their own land.
Then there is Tony whose high quality costume jewellery at extremely reasonable prices and mostly boxed.
Bridget who makes exquisite silver items at silly low prices.
AAR who have a huge stand selling again high quality of all sorts, especially specialising in animal products.
These 4 stalls are extremely popular with the public who make it a point not to miss coming.

Inflammation – A Psychological Thriller:
– Set in London, Brighton, Oxford, and Málaga; this fast paced novel follows Adam, a Psychologist, as he struggles to cope with life after the brutal murder of his truest love, Lorelei, at the hands of her abusive ex-partner. In the midst of his grief, and the guilt from his sense of having failed her; he lives on countdown, awaiting the release of the perpetrator. Furious with a criminal justice system that by its very nature only ever acts after the event, and increasingly feeling the need to do something for the cause in the meantime; the obsessive urge to intervene using his psychological skills, overpowers him. Will he even make it to the release date, or will he already have gone too far?
– I wrote this novel in and around Málaga province; in Torrox and Nerja particularly. It is a psychological/suspense/crime thriller, and would certainly be rated 18+ in places. It is available on Amazon in paperback and ebook in various countries. The links for the UK and Spain are below, and it is best to order it from where you currently are, and/or to where you would like it delivered. I very much hope you enjoy it (please leave a nice amazon review if so); and a big heartfelt thank you to anyone who orders it, and in doing so, is supporting an independent author.

SPAIN
Israel summons Spanish ambassador over PM Sanchez’s latest Gaza remark:
– Israel summoned Spain’s ambassador for a reprimand after Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said on Thursday that he doubted Israel was respecting international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip.
– Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he instructed his foreign minister to call in Spain’s ambassador for a reprimand “after the shameful statement by the Spanish prime minister on the same day that Hamas terrorists are murdering Israelis in our capital Jerusalem.”
– Earlier on Thursday, Sanchez said during an interview with Spanish state-owned broadcaster TVE that he doubts Israel is respecting international humanitarian law, given the number of casualties among civilians in Gaza. “What we are seeing in Gaza is not acceptable,” he added. Source: https://news.cgtn.com/news/2023-11-30/Israel-summons-Spain-s-ambassador-for-reprimand-over-PM-s-Gaza-remark-1p9UJzNXJ4Y/index.html
{Then, hours later…}
Israel withdraws its ambassador in Spain after Sánchez’s latest statements: {Translation, summary}
– The diplomatic soap opera between Spain and Israel has a new episode. The latest statements by the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, questioning whether the Israeli army is acting in accordance with international law in Gaza, has prompted the Israeli government to call for consultations with its representative in Spain.
– The Israeli Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen, has defended in a message on X, formerly Twitter, that Israel is acting in accordance with international law and has stressed that Hamas is solely responsible for the terrorist attack of 7 October and the current situation in the Gaza Strip. “Following the outrageous words of the Spanish Prime Minister, who repeats unfounded accusations, I decided to call the Israeli ambassador to Spain,” Rodica Radian-Gordon, “to return to consultations in Jerusalem,” Cohen announced.
– The announcement by Cohen comes after Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered that the Spanish ambassador to Israel, Ana Salomon, be recalled for a “reprimand” for Sánchez’s “disgraceful” statements.
– In an interview on TVE President Sanchez argued that “we friendly countries also have to tell each other things” and maintained that just as he has condemned the Hamas terrorist attack “with the same conviction”, he must tell Israel that its response must be based on International Humanitarian Law.
– “With the images we are seeing and the growing number, especially of children who are dying, I have real doubts that they are complying with it”, he admitted, after assuring that it was “very hard” to see the video of the attack that Netanyahu showed him during their meeting last week.
– The Israeli Prime Minister reproached Sánchez for having made this statement on the same day that “terrorists” murdered three Israelis in the “capital”, Jerusalem. The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) claimed responsibility for the attack, which took place at a bus stop.
– The decision to recall the ambassador for consultations is a more forceful diplomatic measure than summoning the Spanish ambassador to express displeasure with Spain. Despite Warnings From EU That They Will Not Permit “Lawfare” In Member States, And Having Already Warned Sanchez That They Will Withhold EU Recovery Funds For Violations, Sánchez endorses & justifies his “lawfare”: {Translation, summary}
– The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has opened up for the first time regarding the thesis of the “lawfare” defended by his separatist partners and which is set out in the government programme with Junts. During an interview on TVE, when asked about the lawfare, Sánchez openly admitted it and stated that “institutions have been instrumentalised for our political reasons”. {YIKES! Sounds like Chairman Mao. -Ed.} Source, Spanish: https://www.libertaddigital.com/espana/politica/2023-11-30/sanchez-hace-suya-la-teoria-del-lawfare-y-ya-habla-de-instituciones-instrumentalizadas-por-causas-politicas-7075132/
AXARQUÍA
‘The town hall isn’t listening to us’- Axarquía residents protest over water bills:
– The twenty or so residents of La Viñuela village, in the Axarquía area to the east of Malaga province, who have received exorbitant water bills in recent months protested outside the town hall on Monday 27 November.
– Some of the residents have received water bills of up to 75,000 euros for two quarters and have described the situation as “unjust and Kafkaesque”. The residents, most of whom are foreign, claim “it is impossible for us to have consumed these amounts”. They blame the “erroneous” meter readings on “air entering the pipes because of frequent cuts to the supply”. MALAGA PROVINCE
Following similar actions by Andalucia earlier this week, El Pleno de Málaga rejects Sánchez’s investiture agreements and urges the government to “treat the autonomous regions with equal justice”: {Translation, summary}
– The Plenary of Málaga City Council has approved the urgent motion of the PP to reject “the agreements reached by Pedro Sánchez as leader of the PSOE to achieve his investiture, which include commitments that establish privileges, violate the principles enshrined in the Constitution and deepen the north-south divide” in the country.
– The Plenary, with the PP and Vox voting in favour and PSOE and Con Málaga voting against, also urged the Government “to grant equal and fair treatment to the different autonomous regions with a distribution of funds based on the population weight of each community and not on nationalist and ideological sensitivities”. Source, Spanish: https://www.europapress.es/andalucia/malaga-00356/noticia-pleno-malaga-rechaza-acuerdos-sanchez-investidura-insta-gobierno-trato-justo-autonomias-20231130151051.html
TORROX
Torrox to get recycling centre:
– The green light was given at a council meeting on Monday 27 November, but must now get the necessary authorisation from the Andalusian regional government before work can start. Once work starts, the ‘punto limpio’ project is expected to take nine months to complete and has a budget of 680,000 euros.
– Once open, the facility, which will be located in the Pago de Santilla area, will allow residents to dispose of household waste which is too big or dangerous to be thrown into the street containers. It will also allow farmers to dispose of plastics, as well as stubble, pasture and other agricultural waste. USA
Henry Kissinger, secretary of state to Richard Nixon, dies at 100:
– Henry Kissinger, the former secretary of state under Richard Nixon who became one of the most prominent and controversial figures of US foreign policy in the 20th century, has died. He was 100.
– The celebrity diplomat has advised a dozen presidents over his long career, including Joe Biden, and won a shared Nobel prize for negotiating the end to the Vietnam war.
– But his legacy was also defined by his contempt for human rights and efforts to protect US corporate interests at all costs, with opponents across the world casting him as a war criminal. He supported Indonesia’s military dictator in the invasion of East Timor, backed the invasion of Angola by the apartheid regime in South Africa and worked with the CIA to overthrow the democratically-elected president of Chile. He also authorized wiretaps of reporters and his own staff.

FINANCIAL
Spain’s Hidden Economic Disaster- Sanchez policies post-Covid have not stopped shrinking exports or Spain’s financial decline, now unlikely to achieve EU goals despite grandiose Sanchez admin projections: {Translation}
– Nadia Calviño has not stopped assuring that Spain is an example for the EU and the OECD. María Jesús Montero is constantly asserting that the economy is growing strongly and is a model for the major countries to follow. And Pedro Sánchez keeps committing to spending that will be difficult to pay for if the crisis continues to worsen.
– But, in the midst of all this, a graph from the Tax Agency has embarrassed the entire government. The tax office keeps track of the sales and exports of large companies. And since commerce was re-established after the impact of covid, Spain has not stopped losing weight in its exports. And that means that Spain’s economic weight has not stopped falling and giving away market share – and employment – to other countries.
– Tax rises amounting to more than 100,000 million euros, insults to employers, executive decrees for expropriation of benefits, permanent increases in the interprofessional minimum wage, legal uncertainty in all sectors, attacks on private property, a labour reform focused on the elimination of flexibility and hundreds and hundreds of regulations designed to increase environmental, union and bureaucratic control. All of this has generated the obvious consequences: an incessant loss of weight in the Spanish economy.
– The graph drawn up by the Tax Agency with the sales and exports of large companies is a true reflection of this political penalisation of companies, the generation of wealth and employment in Spain, as can be seen in the image that LD publishes today. Thus, if the rate of exports of large companies reached a year-on-year rate of 22% in May 2022, with a stabilised rate of 11.9%, at the moment, September 2023, it is -4.3% and a stabilised rate in the latest data is from June 2023- of 0.7%. In other words, exports – the ability to compete with the rest of the economies – have collapsed.
– “Total sales of Large Companies, deflated and corrected for seasonal and calendar variations, remained virtually constant in September compared to the same month in 2022”, the AEAT report states. But the truth is that the trend is devastating, because it has not ceased to mark a downward trend. “In the quarter as a whole, growth was 0.6%, within a pattern of deceleration already observed last quarter. The reason for this behaviour lies in a certain stabilisation in the increase in domestic sales, at the same time as a contraction in exports”, explains María Jesús Montero’s department.
– “Exports remained in negative territory in September, with a fall of 1.8%, although more moderate than that observed in August. This data closes the quarter in the negative (-3.1%), something that has not occurred since the first quarter of 2021,” admits the Treasury. “This decline was reflected, with different intensity, in two aspects: sales to the EU recorded a slight decrease (-0.1%), while sales to third countries deepened their fall to 6.2%,” it adds. Shane MacGowan, lead singer of The Pogues and a laureate of booze and beauty, dies at age 65: Shane MacGowan, the boozy, rabble-rousing singer and chief songwriter of The Pogues, who infused traditional Irish music with the energy and spirit of punk, died Thursday, his family said. He was 65. The musician had been hospitalized in Dublin for several months after being diagnosed with viral encephalitis in late 2022. He was discharged last week, ahead of his upcoming birthday on Christmas Day. Born on Christmas Day 1957 in England to Irish parents, MacGowan spent his early years in rural Ireland before the family moved back to London. Ireland remained the lifelong center of his imagination and his yearning. Full article: https://apnews.com/article/shane-macgowan-pogues-dead-5b6f1f1becb575ceffca4ee01b3b12a6
