So please now consider the value you have received this passing year and show your support with a donation. This year’s goal is to receive a donation from 3% of subscribers. If just 3 of each 100 subscribers make a donation the goal will be attained! The 3% group finances DigameXtra for the 97% group that don’t donate. Which group will you belong to? Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Just like your morning coffee,
what would you do
without your morning DigameXtra?

ANDALUCÍA
UPDATE- Andalusian students will no longer be able to use their cell phones in classrooms or at recess and the Board gives teachers the authority to take them away: {Translation}
– Andalucian schools can now prohibit their pupils from using mobile phones both in class and at recess, while teachers will have the authority to take it away and keep it in custody until it is returned to the parents.
– This is just a few days after the President of the Regional Government, Juanma Moreno, announced in Parliament his government’s intention to implement this measure.
– Thus, according to the text consulted by 20minutos, the centres, both public and private, will have to “limit” the use of mobile phones during the school day, which includes both the school hours of classes and recreation time and complementary and extracurricular activities, a measure that should be reflected in the regulations of organisation and operation of the different centres.
– The instructions state as an exception that the use of mobile phones is “expressly provided for” at certain times and for “exclusively educational” purposes and with “duly justified” pedagogical criteria. Likewise, mobile phones will not be prohibited for students who require them “in view of their personal circumstances”, which must be registered with the school management by the student’s legal guardians.
– In the event that a student does not comply with the new ban, the Board authorises teachers to remove the mobile phone from the student, a measure that must be carried out in the presence of at least two members of the school. The pupil will have to switch off the phone and it will be kept in the head teacher’s office until it is returned to the pupil’s parents or legal guardian.
– In any case, according to the Regional Ministry, the “corrections” applied to non-compliant students will have an “educational and remedial” focus, and must “guarantee respect for the rights of the rest of the student body”. Valle-Niza celebrates its Fair in honor of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception this weekend: {Translation, summary}
– Valle-Niza celebrates its traditional Fair in honour of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception from Friday 8th to 10th December.
– The Fair will start this Friday, a bank holiday, at 12.00 noon with the opening of the official stand. “As well as all the activities and festivities prepared for the occasion, we will once again be parading alongside the image of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception to show our respects and affection. This will take place on Sunday, starting with the traditional mass in honour of the Virgin at 8.30 am in the Ermita Alta Church, leaving the procession at 9.00 am. It will be a magnificent occasion for all the neighbours to enjoy a few days of celebration and enjoyment shortly before the Christmas holidays,” commented the deputy mayor of Valle-Niza.
– “Before that, on Saturday, there will be a floral offering to the Virgin at 9.00 am. I would like to invite all the residents of the municipality to get to know and enjoy Valle-Niza because we have a very full agenda. There will be children’s parties, musical performances, zumba, and more activities, although with special attention to the procession and also to the horse-drawn carriage competition and the horse-drawn ribbon race”, explained Jesús María Claros, who thanked the stewards for their hard work. EUROPE
Top Ukrainian military officer says war with Russia at a ‘stalemate’:
– Ukraine’s commander in chief, Gen. Valery Zaluzhny, said in an interview this week the counteroffensive against Russia is at a stalemate and only a massive technological leap could change the direction of the war between the countries.
– In a comprehensive interview with The Economist, Zaluzhny described the tremendous difficulties Ukraine faces five months into its counteroffensive against Russia.
“Just like in the First World War, we have reached the level of technology that puts us into a stalemate,” he said in the interview published Wednesday.
– “The simple fact is that we see everything the enemy is doing, and they see everything we are doing,” Zaluzhny said. “In order for us to break this deadlock, we need something new — like the gunpowder, which the Chinese invented and which we are still using to kill each other.”
– The general said he does not expect a massive technological breakthrough. In a separate essay in The Economist, Zaluzhny said he expected the solution to come from combining all the technical solutions that exist, rather than by developing one single invention. The Economist reported Zaluzhny urged innovation in drones, electronic warfare, anti-artillery capabilities, demining equipment and the use of robotics.
– Zaluzhny concluded the war was at a stalemate after progress in the counteroffensive fell far short of the goal. Ukraine has advanced 17 kilometers (about 11 miles) in the five months since the war began, according to The Economist. Zaluzhny told the magazine that the army should be able to advance by 30 kilometers (about 19 miles) per day. “If you look at NATO’s textbooks and at the maths which we did, four months should have been enough time for us to have reached Crimea, to have fought in Crimea, to return from Crimea and to have gone back in and out again,” he said. TECH
Websites You Allow To Set Cookies May Share Your Data With 1000+ Companies, Most You Never Heard Of!: {DigameXtra}
– When you visit websites you are often presented with a cookie permission notification you must click to proceed. You need to know that it is not just the provider of the website that will be using the cookies, tracking the websites you visit and every search you do. Websites “share” this data with their “partners”. In this case “partners” simply means clients they sell your data to. It is a prime source of income for the websites.
– Due to new EU regulations, websites are now including the number of partners they share your data with. As you can see in the image below, Spanish news website La Razon wants permission to share my data with 736 partners! This is a typical number, some are more, others less. Still, it is a huge number of strangers tracking you if you click to accept the cookie notification. The more websites you visit, the more cookies you collect. These cookies will remain until they are manually cleaned out, typically with CCleaner or a similar device system cleaning tool. Some cookies claim they expire in 30 days- in my experience, few honor that claim.
– If you click to see the list of partners, you will see a long list of companies you never heard of and the purposes of the cookies each partner admits to. Some will say “Legitimate Interest”. That is straight up BS. Strangers, who you have never contacted, nor intend to, have absolutely no legit interest in what websites you visit or searches you do. In fact, none of the supposed uses of your data by “partners” are really legit, unless you have contacted them first.
– What you can do when you encounter this cookie permission popup, is NOT click “Accept”, instead click the other button, usually named “Set Up” or “View Partners”. Somewhere on the list of partners you will usually find the “Reject All” button, click that, then click “Save”, and proceed to the website. In cases where there is no option to “Reject All”, you may have to un-check all the partner trackers individually, and then click “Save Choices” to achieve the same “Reject All” effect.
– In some cases, you may receive a warning that if you decline cookies you will not have full website functions, usually it is photos and/or videos that fail to display without cookies. That is coercion, they could show those things without you accepting cookies if they wanted to.
SCAMS
Scammers pretending to be Denzel Washington or Hugh Jackman target women in Malaga:
– Police issued a warning following three cases in Malaga province where the victims sent a total of 75,000 euros to people they believed belonged to the charities of celebrities. They were sent Facebook or Instagram friend requests by scammers who convinced them they were friends of Denzel Washington, Hugh Jackman and Sam Heughan. The victims thought they had struck up a friendship with them, and were asked to pay 75,000 to help the social work of the actors, but were scammed instead.
– The alleged Denzel Washington – or any other of the profiles – redirects the victim to his personal agent and offers various contact options through applications such as Meeting, Meeting plus or Private Meeting, according to investigators. The Private Meeting option is accessed by paying 3,600 euros and allows personal contact with the actor. However, once the sum has been paid, the meeting is postponed with various excuses such as the recording of a new film or that the actor is going through a relationship break-up. Once convinced there is no more money to be taken, the scammer quits replying. {I have seen other cases where the scammers use AI deep-fake tools to create a short “personal video” they send, with some excuse why a live chat is not possible at the moment, rather than provide the promised, live video chat that the victim paid for. They send videos where the celebrity appears to be speaking directly to the victim, like the personalised videos celebs sell on websites like Cameo , mentioning the victim by name and referring to info the victim previously provided. -Ed.} Full article: https://www.surinenglish.com/malaga/denzel-washington-hugh-jackman-impersonating-scam-women-20231204101319-nt.html
