HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER
I can only produce DigameXtra with the financial support of my readers. So please now consider the value you have received this passing year and show your support with a donation. This year’s goal is to receive a donation from 3% of subscribers. If just 3 of each 100 subscribers make a donation the goal will be attained! The 3% group finances DigameXtra for the 97% group that don’t donate. Which group will you belong to? Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Just like your morning coffee,
what would you do
without your morning DigameXtra?
-Holiday Donation Info-
You may drop cash donations off in person and say hello, after 2pm M-F by appointment, or place them in my mailbox beside my door anytime. Both the door and the mailbox have the name HARRIS on them. Email me for map and directions. Cash donations are strongly preferred.
Alternatively, you may send me an Amazon ES (Spain) “eGift card” by email. You need to have an Amazon.es account. The only info you may need is my name and email address, see those below. Typically you will only need my email address. Remember, this is an “eGift card” sent to me by Amazon, don’t buy a plain “gift card”. Use the link provided below to access the “eGift card” purchase page. I will only know who sent it if you put your name in the “gift message” (mensaje) box of the purchase form.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND AMAZON UK eGIFT CARDS
Here is the Amazon.es eGift Card Link, (NOTE: YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY AMOUNT YOU LIKE ON THE FORM, it is set at €50 by default):
https://www.amazon.es/Cheques-Regalo-Amazon-es-mail-Amazon/dp/B07SS5PFJK/
Buy the eGift card for:
Name: N.J. Harris
Email: digamextra@protonmail.com
Total Donations Received As Of Today: 46
(Last year = 96. New goal = 150, 3% of subscribers, a modest target. If just 3 of each 100 subscribers make a donation the goal will be attained! )

MOONETTE – Organic Skincare for Mature Skin
We are a Torrox-based company specialising in the creation of formulae which help prevent premature skin ageing. We are committed to making effective products at affordable prices.
Your skin health matters to us. How you feed your skin is as important as how you feed your body. Why settle for anything less than natural and organic?
As our skin is the first layer of our defence against microbial infections, ultraviolet radiation and environmental contamination it plays a vital role in our health. As we grow older, however, our skin becomes thinner, wrinkled, and more sensitive; hence it requires the use of treatments containing specific ingredients to the care of treating mature skin.
Recognising this need we have created a range of formulae which help
-slow down ageing process by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
-improve facial complexion and eliminate blemishes.
At Moonette, we are passionate about health, beauty and plants. Your skin will benefit from the properties of botanic essential oils combined with a selection of nutrients for deep hydration, cell revitalization and antioxidant effect, all sourced from the finest natural ingredients with gorgeous fragrances.
Naturally, we care about our planet and feel the need to help reduce the sheer volumes of plastics waste that are generated daily around the globe. Presently, we are minimizing the usage of plastic materials in our production while seeking alternative forms of packaging. To help reduce pollution we are asking all local customers to recycle or reuse their Moonette skincare containers, and offering a small discount on future purchases to customers recycling containers.

Inflammation – A Psychological Thriller:
– Set in London, Brighton, Oxford, and Málaga; this fast paced novel follows Adam, a Psychologist, as he struggles to cope with life after the brutal murder of his truest love, Lorelei, at the hands of her abusive ex-partner. In the midst of his grief, and the guilt from his sense of having failed her; he lives on countdown, awaiting the release of the perpetrator. Furious with a criminal justice system that by its very nature only ever acts after the event, and increasingly feeling the need to do something for the cause in the meantime; the obsessive urge to intervene using his psychological skills, overpowers him. Will he even make it to the release date, or will he already have gone too far?
– I wrote this novel in and around Málaga province; in Torrox and Nerja particularly. It is a psychological/suspense/crime thriller, and would certainly be rated 18+ in places. It is available on Amazon in paperback and ebook in various countries. The links for the UK and Spain are below, and it is best to order it from where you currently are, and/or to where you would like it delivered. I very much hope you enjoy it (please leave a nice amazon review if so); and a big heartfelt thank you to anyone who orders it, and in doing so, is supporting an independent author.

ANDALUCÍA
Moreno proposes to the Government a desalination master plan to activate new desalination plants in Andalucia in four years:
{Translation, summary}
– The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has proposed this Sunday to the central government to specify as soon as possible a desalination master plan for the implementation of new desalination plants in Andalusia between now and 2027, as a measure to deal with the prolonged drought. On the third day of his official trip to Dubai on the occasion of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP28, the President visited the third largest desalination plant in the world, together with the Spanish companies Veolia and Hidralia, which have participated in the execution of this major infrastructure in the emirates.
– Speaking to journalists, Moreno pointed out that, given the serious drought problem in Andalusia, it is necessary to learn about the technological advances that other dry areas of the world are making to solve the problems of water supply and, specifically, with regard to desalination.
– Faced with this looming scenario, he warned that the construction of a desalination plant could take between three and five years. This is why he insisted on the need for the central government and the regional government to finalise a timetable and funding agreement as soon as possible.
– He recalled that at the moment there are projects already underway, such as the Vélez-Málaga desalination plant, and others that are being worked on in the provinces of Almería and Málaga. He also referred to the emergency projects for portable desalination plants in La Axarquía and Marbella. In the president’s opinion, definitive and structural solutions must be sought to “problems that are already structural”, such as the case of the drought in Andalusia as a result of climate change. “Since we have to deal with this problem, let’s build large infrastructures and think big,” he said. MALAGA PROVINCE
Malaga starts the week with summer temperatures that could reach 28 degrees on Tuesday: {Translation}
– Monday will see the start of a week marked, in its first days, by high temperatures, more typical of spring and summer than of the end of autumn. Ten days before the winter solstice, temperatures will rise, “locally noticeably”, as explained by the Aemet. The skies will be clear throughout most of the province, with intervals of high clouds, and fog banks are not ruled out on the coast.
– In the capital, the thermometers will range from a minimum of 14 degrees and a maximum of 26 degrees. The same situation will be experienced in Antequera. In Marbella, the minimum temperatures will be around 20 degrees and the maximum, 25. In Ronda they will be between 15 and 25 degrees and the mildest temperatures will be in the Axarquia, whose capital, Velez-Malaga, will have minimum temperatures of 14 and maximum temperatures of 23.
– Stability will also prevail on Tuesday, with high clouds and some mist on the coast. Winds will be light and variable, increasing to moderate westerly winds from midday onwards. And the maximum temperatures will continue to rise, although the minimum temperatures will fall in inland areas, which will mean that the difference between day and evening will be more pronounced in places like Ronda and Antequera. In the capital of Malaga, maximum temperatures are expected to reach 27 degrees, 28 in Velez-Malaga, 26 in Marbella and 22 in the north of the province.
– On Wednesday the map of the province will change, as well as the rest of Andalusia, and will be filled with cloud from the west. Weak and occasional showers are not ruled out, which could be a little heavier in the Serranía de Ronda and the north of the Antequera region. The rain, if it arrives, will not be significant, but it will bring temperatures to fall across the board, locally noticeable in inland areas. Thus, in Ronda and Antequera the thermometers will range between 6 and 14 degrees. The maximum temperatures will be milder on the coast with values around 20 degrees.
– On Thursday and Friday they will continue to fall and the minimum temperatures, typical of this time of year, will reach 2 degrees in Antequera and 3 in Ronda. The highs will be between 12 and 19 degrees on the coast of Malaga. The skies will remain clear with some cloudy intervals. VÉLEZ-MÁLAGA
A court orders the closure of the animal shelter in Velez-Malaga: {Translation, summary}
– El Refugio de Leo is closing its doors. The animal shelter founded in 2016 by Lourdes Peláez, a resident of Cerro de Beas, an enclave located on the border between the municipalities of Vélez-Málaga and Arenas, has been forced to cease its activity after a final ruling ordering its closure for lacking the corresponding permits, such as the declaration of a zoological facility, by the Junta de Andalucía.
– The judicial decision has been adopted by the Provincial Court, which has ratified a previous judgement of a Criminal Court in Malaga, following complaints from three neighbours about the nuisance caused by the constant barking of animals on this rural estate located more than seven kilometres from any inhabited urban centre. “They are kicking us out because of the noise. They have made erroneous measurements and applied erroneous scales which the court has admitted. They have been done without external supervision and, one of them, at night, with people standing next to the fences,” Peláez laments.
– The founder of El Refugio de Leo points out that the new Animal Welfare Law states that the town halls “must collaborate with the shelters in a preferential way”. “But the Town Hall of Vélez-Málaga only tells me that there are enough animal shelters in the area,” he complains. “We don’t have an urbanistic problem. That is the problem of the neighbours whose houses are not legal, nor do they have the DAFO (occupation certificate), nor have they respected the neighbourhood boundaries according to the ordinances. But of course, as it is a clan, nobody picks on them”, he protests.
