IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING LAZY SUBMISSIONS

Using A Tablet or Phone To Make Submissions Does Not Relieve You Of The Need To Write Proper Emails:
– In the age of WhatsApp, many people have adopted a sort of shorthand when writing messages.
– Submissions are emails, NOT TEXT MESSAGES!!! An email is a digital letter.
– I should be able to copy/paste your submissions directly, without making a bunch of corrections, adding punctuation, correcting missing caps, removing double stops, etc.
– I do NOT have the time to rewrite lazy submissions. If you can’t be bothered to write a proper email submission, then I am too busy to correct it for you.
– You MUST include the condition of items for sale. More details equal faster sales.
– If you fail to follow these instructions I will simply return it for correction.
– I don’t mind correcting submissions from people who are not fluent in English, but native speakers should be able to compose proper emails.
– Your cooperation is appreciated. -Ed.

SPAIN

Álvarez de Toledo to the Sanchez- “Since yesterday there have been two types of terrorism: the one that violates human rights and the one that guarantees you seven votes to stay in the Moncloa”: {Translation}
– Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, Congressional Spokesperson for the PP, spoke on Wednesday in the Permanent Deputation of Congress to request the convening of an extraordinary session in which Pedro Sánchez appears in plenary and gives an account of his pacts with the separatists.
– “The truth exists and matters, and no one is more interested in knowing it than the members of this House. Everyone, including the partners of the Government and even the socialist deputies, if they have any conscience left”, began the PP deputy, who accused members of the Government of being “accomplices of seditionists and, since yesterday, accomplices of terrorists”.
– “I refer to accomplices of those who promoted bankruptcy and lawlessness in Catalonia and of those who used barricades, petrol, violence and terror”, Álvarez de Toledo has continued showing the documents that collect the agreements of Sánchez with the separatists and differentiating “the types of terrorism”, according to the Government.
– “These two documents will always haunt them. The first one seals a corrupt transaction: I erase your crimes in exchange for you keeping me in power. There is not a single precedent for such a double self-amnesty. The second sinks the PSOE into a legal and moral abyss”, she said of the separatists’ amendments accepted by the PSOE.
– “Since yesterday there have been two types of terrorism: the one that violates human rights and the one that guarantees you seven votes to stay in the Moncloa”, the PP representative criticised.
– Sánchez must explain this aberration”, she said. After this, she addressed the government to tell them “with clarity and a point of severity” that their “unconstitutional, anti-European and corrupt Amnesty Law has no future, lose all hope”.
– “You can pass a law that says that Puigdemont is Napoleon and Sánchez is the new Aristotle but you will not stop being what you are: one a fugitive from justice and the other an unscrupulous loser. The truth is the reality and the reality is that in Spain there is something above Sánchez, and even above any parliamentary majority, the Spanish Constitution and European Law”, she said.
– After this, she recalled that “when the law clashes with the law of the Union, they are obliged to process a preliminary ruling, and that this leaves any resolution in abeyance until Europe pronounces itself, even if the law says otherwise in five languages and in bold letters. Therefore, neither the lifting of precautionary measures for Junqueras, nor the lifting of the arrest warrants for Puigdemont, nor impunity for the Tsunami or the CDR. You will have to wait, at the very least, for Europe’s verdict, and frankly, I don’t think Europe is willing to abrogate itself. MALAGA PROVINCE

The Board will install four portable desalators in Malaga: {Translation, summary}
– The serious drought situation in Malaga means that measures must be taken to guarantee the water supply for the population. The Junta de Andalucía will install four portable desalination plants in Malaga in different parts of the province where the situation is most serious, so that greater resources can be obtained.
– The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, announced a few weeks ago that with the new plan to deal with the drought they were going to install these desalination plants in different parts of Malaga that were most affected by the drought. It is now known that they will be in the ETAP of Trapiche (Vélez-Málaga), in the wells of the Guadalmansa river, in the Fuengirola river and in the desalination plant of Marbella {pic}.
– The delegate of the Government of the Junta de Andalucía in Malaga, Patricia Navarro, regretted the fact that it was not possible to install a portable desalination plant in La Viñuela, as it does not have sufficient capacity to have this infrastructure. VÉLEZ-MÁLAGA

Man arrested for assaulting his partner in a motorhome in Vélez-Málaga: {Translation}
– Agents of the Local Police of Vélez-Málaga and the National Police have arrested a man in Vélez-Málaga as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of gender violence after assaulting his partner in the motorhome in which they lived.
– The incident took place at around 21.30 hours on Tuesday in a caravan park in the area of Los Puertas.
– The officers were alerted to an assault on a woman in one of the vehicles parked on the site. The Local Police officers who responded to the alert found that the interior of the caravan was in a state of disarray and there were signs of a fight. After interviewing the woman, she told them that her partner had tried to take her handbag and, when she tried to stop him, the man punched her in the stomach and continued kicking her after the victim fell to the ground, even dragging her, causing her various injuries.
– The detainee, of foreign nationality, admitted that they had had an argument, that he had taken his partner’s handbag because it contained her documents and that when he tried to leave there had been a struggle. The Local Police of Vélez-Málaga, with the support of the National Police, arrested the accused as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of gender violence. HEALTH

Andalusia promotes a new model of intermediate care to prevent dependency in the over-50s, yet provides little funding: {Translation, summary}
– “Prevention is better than cure”, goes the saying, which the Andalusian Regional Government has applied in a pilot project that will begin operating next February with the aim of preventing situations of chronic dependency in the over 50s with simultaneous health and social problems.
– This was announced this Tuesday by the Regional Minister for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, Loles López, after the weekly meeting of the Governing Council, where she presented the Intermediate Care programme, an “innovative” care model aimed at patients over 50 who have a health problem. The programme is aimed at patients over the age of 50 who have a health problem, especially trauma, the most common of pathologies in this age range, and who, once they have been discharged from hospital, require more care at home that they cannot receive, either because they are alone or because they do not have the financial resources to pay for it.
– In these cases, and after analysis of the corresponding health and social services reports, the Junta will offer patients the possibility of benefiting from the programme and moving to a residence for a maximum period of two months, which can be extended for a further month. The Regional Minister explained that this is a “temporary” service for patients with a “prognosis of recovery”.
– This initiative, which is being developed in coordination with the Regional Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs, will begin next month in ten residential centres in the provinces of Seville, Huelva and Almeria, although the Regional Government plans to extend it to the rest of the Andalusian provinces during the first quarter of this year. The residences that participate, according to the Regional Ministry, are prepared to provide specialised rehabilitation care and will have a care and intervention plan depending on the profiles of the users that arrive.
– The price of these places is 93 euros per day, fully covered by the Junta, without the patients having to pay anything for it. (The Junta has no money of it’s own, the public will be paying for this. This is the problem with our current leadership. Deciding what is best for us without our consent, and using our money to pay for their hair-brained schemes, that often fail due to lack of proper research, like their “digital nomad” program no one wants. -Ed.) The total cost, for the time being (?), of promoting this programme amounts to 1.2 million euros, with the expectation of benefiting, in this initial phase, more than one hundred people.
-{I suspect this is more political than clinical. €93 x 100 patients x 30 days = €279,000 funded per month. 1.2mil / 279,000 = 4.3. So the budget will only cover 4.3 months. And will €93 even cover the daily expenses per person of providing these 24/7 nursing residences: 24 hour nurses + day-shift doctors, food service & staff, maintenence crew + supplies, facility expense, etc.? Sorry. Sounds good on the surface, but this does not pass the smell test. -Ed.)

Another large payout for malpractice in Andalucia- Parents of a girl will be compensated in Jaen with half a million euros for medical negligence during childbirth: {Translation, summary}
– The 2nd Contentious Administrative Court of Jaén has ordered the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) to pay 500,000 euros to the parents of a girl for medical negligence committed by the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Service of the Hospital San Agustín de Linares (Jaén), as a result of which the minor suffered injuries to a shoulder during childbirth.
– The judgement, which upholds the appeal lodged by the parents of the minor, understands that the negligence occurred “due to a poor resolution and instrumentation of the shoulder dystocia produced during childbirth”. This caused the minor to suffer brachial paralysis of her left upper limb.
– It also alleges the documentary mismanagement of the case, “since the parents were kept in the dark about the fundamental documentation of the medical history, the alleged ailment suffered by the minor was not reported and the diagnosis of the ailment of brachial palsy was written by hand onto one of the discharge reports”.
– The ruling strongly criticises both the documentary and medical management carried out by the professionals involved in the birth and by the hospital itself, with sentences such as: “In our opinion, the professionals involved were clear that a shoulder dystocia with possible serious consequences had occurred during the birth” and that the obstetric record “was not given to the parents of the minor when it was requested in order to initiate the procedures to bring the present proceedings”.
– “Therefore, I believe that depriving the parents of the right to know of the suspected illness that their daughter may have, and even depriving them of the right to seek other medical alternatives for their daughter, leads us to determine that the documentary and informative management of the birth was a complete nonsense”, indicates the magistrate Jesús Romero in the sentence.
– Likewise, the ruling underlines that there is no doubt that the paralysis of the minor’s shoulder “is a consequence of the traction that is carried out during childbirth”. “It can be deduced that there has been a mismanagement of an obstetric emergency,” the ruling adds.
– The family’s lawyer, Carlos Chamorro Gámez, from CH Abogados, has expressed his satisfaction with the ruling, which comes after four years of work and “for the large sum obtained for our clients”. With it, they plan to “continue to pay for the medical treatment that the minor will need throughout her life due to her ailments”. Chamorro hopes that this case “will serve to review the protocols, both documentary and medical, of the Hospital San Agustín de Linares. TECH

The Junta de Andalucía BLOCKS VPN Users: {DigameXtra} – In a gross violation of your privacy, the Junta will not allow you to access their website, and their apps may not work, if you are using a VPN.
– Evidently they feel their security is more important than yours. There are other, more effective methods of securing a website. I suggest anyone experiencing problems using Junta websites or apps contact them and strongly express your displeasure. They work for you and are paid with public money. To prevent access to security conscious visitors, for the Junta’s convenience, while at the same time warning people to protect themselves from on-line threats, is unconscionable. Just another example of the gov’t doing whatever they find easiest, without consulting the people affected, and waiting to see if there is push-back.
