DOCTORLAPTOP’S FAMOUS CLEAN & TUNEUP FULL MAINTENENCE SERVICE SPECIAL: New Lower Price!
Only €45. Or bring 2 at the same time, €40 each.
Offer ends Tuesday Feb 20th.
– For Windows & Mac. For laptops and Mini PCs only. Tower PC full service remains at €80 (opening and cleaning the inside properly takes way more time).
– If you rely on your computer and want it running at peak performance, free of data collectors, trackers and the new Artificial Intelligence malware that easily evades your anti-virus software, an annual professional servicing is necessary. You wouldn’t drive your car till it runs out of oil before servicing it, would you? I do the most comprehensive cleaning and tune-up possible: verify all System files replacing any found to be corrupt, test all hardware and do hard disk sector repairs if needed, use 5 tool malware/adware/spyware/tracker removal protocol, clean out junk files/logs/history/etc., update Windows (or MacOS)+all drivers+programs and finally optimize your settings and registry for fastest overall performance.
Heavily infected comps, computers taking more than 2 minutes to startup or shutdown, or showing error messages, those need a repair, not a maintenance service. HDD hard disks of 1000Gb or more add €10.
*DoctorLaptop’s Computer Repairs- Torrox Costa*

SPAIN
Farmer’s Protest Update- Indefinite Strike Called, Road Blockages Continue: {Translation, summary}
– The farmers’ strike is indefinite and, for the time being, it is unknown when it will end. This Sunday is the sixth day of protests organized by professionals in the countryside, who are demanding a Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) – just and flexible – less bureaucracy, fair prices and a relaxation of environmental and animal protection regulations
– This Sunday, February 11 is the first day of the declared indefinite strike of the farmers, which was announced yesterday by the Platform in Defense of the Transport of Goods and Platform 6F after the vote that took place yesterday in Madrid.
– Currently there is a picket of farmers at the intersection of the A-451 and A-406 regional roadsin El Saucejo (Sevilla), preventing movement at that point.
– The A-23 motorway, as it passes through the municipality of Calamocha (Teruel), is cut in both directions of circulation this Sunday, due to the mobilizations of farmers. NOTE: Some news outlets are parroting the official gov’t press releases saying the strike has been cancelled and all the roadblocks have been lifted. This is not true! It is deliberate misinformation aimed at disabling the strike and disheartening its supporters. News outlets with reporters on site report the opposite. The strike has been declared indefinite by organizers, and roadblocks continue in many places. Roadblocks will move to different locations, and new roadblocks may appear, without advance notice.

ALGARROBO & SAYALONGA
Algarrobo deals with of a wave of vandalism: {Translation}
– Algarrobo Town Council announced this Friday that it will reinforce municipal security following a wave of vandalism which has caused damage to street furniture in different parts of the municipality in recent weeks.
– The Consistory, through its social networks, has published a series of images of the damage to railings and tables on footpaths, graffiti on parks, benches and walls, and broken traffic signs. It has also announced that it will proceed to repair the areas affected by these acts of vandalism.
– The Town Hall denounces the vandalism and maintains that “Algarrobo is a beautiful and safe town” and that “a small part of it cannot tarnish our beautiful municipality, nor the good work of our neighbours”. In addition, it appeals to “citizen collaboration to report any act of this nature and to preserve the good coexistence and welfare in the municipality”. GRANADA
Aemet announces orange and yellow level warnings for this Monday in Almería and Granada by wind and waves: {Translation, summary}
– Aemet expects to activate several warnings for this Monday in Almeria and Granada for coastal phenomena and wind, with maximum gusts that could reach 70 kilometres per hour in the province of Almeria.
– According to the Aemet website, the inclement weather in the region will occur mainly in the capital and the west of Almeria. In both areas a yellow alert will be activated for coastal phenomena until 9.00 a.m., with winds expected to range between 50 and 60 kilometres per hour and waves up to three metres high.
– Subsequently, this alert will change to orange in the capital and west from 9.00 am until 3.00 pm, due to westerly winds that will blow preferably offshore at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometres per hour, while the waves could reach four metres. However, the Aemet forecasts that the warning will be reduced to yellow from 15:00 until 20:00, so that maximum wind gusts are not expected to exceed 60 kilometres per hour during the afternoon. USA
US could soon surpass China as the world leader in rare earth minerals after more than 2.34 billion metric tons were discovered in Wyoming:
– American Rare Earths Inc. announced that the reserves near Wheatland dramatically surpass China’s 44 million metric tons, saying it ‘exceeded our wildest dreams’ after drilling only about 25 percent of the property. The company has a stake in 367 mining claims across 6,320 acres of land in the Halleck Creek Project, along with four Wyoming mineral leases on 1,844 acres on the same project now called Cowboy State Mine.
– The types of minerals at the site are used in smartphones, hybrid car motors and military technologies – among others. The rare earth minerals uncovered at the site included oxides of neodymium, praseodymium, samarium, dysprosium and terbium. Magnets made from neodymium are used in hard disc drives and mobile phones, while praseodymium is used in high-strength alloys in aircraft engines. Dysprosium is used to make control rods in nuclear reactors, and terbium is used in low-energy lightbulbs and mercury lamps. HEALTH
Surgical Robot “de Vinci”, Made By Intuitve Surgical, Blamed For Thousands Of Injuries & Hundreds Of Deaths:
– New lawsuits and financial report filings expose the extent of damages caused during procedures by the de Vinci robot. More than 20,000 adverse events had been filed to the FDA’s MAUDE database over the past 10 years related to the da Vinci robot.
– In 2023, the number of adverse events related to the da Vinci device filed in the database totaled 3,098, the South Florida Sun Sentinel found. Among “thousands of injury and defect reports” received by the company about the device, “the most dangerous injuries arose from burns to internal organs caused by the discharge of electricity, caused by the robot’s instruments inside the patient,” one pending lawsuit says. “Because the arcing usually occurred outside of the surgeon’s camera field of vision, blood vessels and organs were burned without the medical team’s knowledge,” the complaint states.
– Through Dec. 31, Intuitive Surgical was providing service for 8,606 da Vinci surgical systems, including 5,111 in the United States, which were used to perform 2,286,000 surgical procedures in 2023, according to Intuitive Surgical’s 2023 financial report, filed to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
