Thermometers will reach a warm maximum of 24C on Thursday before plummeting eight degrees by Friday:

Cut of the water supply for Wednesday on the coast of Benajarafe, Chilches and Almayate for works on the supply network: {Translation, summary}
– Aqualia, the company that manages the Municipal Water Service of Vélez-Málaga, has informed this Monday that “due to the renovation works on the water pipeline that runs along the coast, it is necessary to suspend the supply on Wednesday 21 February to connect the new supply network with the existing one”. Specifically, the supply will be suspended from 05.00 am to 19.00 pm in the areas bordering the coast of Benajarafe, Chilches and Almayate. Areas with a deposit in the urbanisation itself will not be affected.
– The improvement work on the supply network, located on a section of the old N-340 road at Valle-Niza, consists of the renovation of 80 metres of 300 mm cast iron network. This will protect the section from the advance of the sea in the area.
– Aqualia advises citizens to make sure that no taps are left running during the hours when the supply is suspended to avoid unnecessary water loss, and not to use electrical appliances such as washing machines or dishwashers, to avoid incidents in the interior installations during the restoration of the service.
– Once the service has been restored, it is recommended that the water be left to circulate for a few minutes to avoid the possible dragging of impurities.

– In addition to its popular travel programme, the Institute for the Elderly and Social Services (Imserso) has a thermalism programme for the elderly, which allows elderly people and beneficiaries of Imserso grants to take part in these thermal tourism initiatives, visiting thermal baths and spas all over the country.
– To be eligible to take part in the programme, it is necessary to register for one of the two registration periods available to the public service. The first of these ended on 10 January 2024 and was for trips scheduled between February and August. As for the second round, it will be possible to register for the place allocation process for the September to December shifts until 15 May 2024.

Burying your dog from 250 euros (for 10 years) in Malaga’s own pet cemetery will be possible from April:
– The city hall’s environment commission this Monday gave the final tick of approval for the project, which will be set up in Malaga’s Parque Cementerio (Parcemasa) and is expected to open in two months. It passed with Partido Popular’s votes in favour of the project, despite the PSOE, Vox and Con Málaga voting against it.
– Parcemasa’s fees, which the Socialist party said it does not agree with are as follows: The cremation of pets weighing less than 30kg will cost 170 euros, and those weighing more than 30kg will cost 190 euros, according to the list of prices. The burial of pets, under or over 30kg, for 10 years will cost 250 euros, which can be paid annually at 25 euros.
