Larios 2024 Catwalk- the great Malaga fashion show: 14-15 Sep
The event is on Larios Street, a privileged outdoor setting that makes this event unique in Europe. It is the longest catwalk held on the old continent, on a blue carpet of more than 300 meters. The parades will be held on Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15, starting at 8:00 p.m. On the first day, Malaga, national and international designers will parade, while on the second, commercial firms and new talents will have more prominence under the umbrella of Málaga de Moda.
To be able to attend this event, all you have to do is attend the event and occupy some of the many available chairs set up for the occasion along the entire Larios street (from the entrance in front of Plaza de la Marina to Plaza de la Constitución). Admission is free. The organizers have already distributed tickets between districts and social and cultural groups in the province but there are still many free chairs distributed along the blue walkway. Another out-of-touch Health Minister with no real answers, only vague observations- The new Health Minister assumes that “perhaps it is difficult” to make appointments with the Family doctor and wants to speed them up: {Translation}
– The Andalusian Regional Minister of Health and Consumer Affairs, Rocío Hernández {pic}, has only been in office for 45 days, but it is already clear that one of her priorities will be to decongest appointments with family doctors in health centres in order to speed up care. ‘We have already been working on this [Catalina García’s team] and we are going to continue working on it, giving primary care a facelift,’ she assured. In this sense, she acknowledged that “getting a regular appointment with the family doctor is perhaps difficult in certain areas, especially in rural areas where healthcare coverage is complicated,” avoiding the issue of massive waiting lists for other procedures.
– In an interview with Canal Sur Radio on Thursday, the regional health minister called for ‘an emphasis on education’ in order to avoid collapsing the system. She called on users to think about using the health system with prudence. ‘The common cold, without an underlying pathology, is something for which perhaps one should not go to the doctor,’ she said. {Blaming the users, how sweet. -Ed.}
– For Regional Minister Rocío Hernández, one of her priorities is to ‘improve accessibility in primary care’. ‘It is very important that citizens have the peace of mind that they can go to the doctor,’ she said. – In the Canal Sur Radio interview, the Regional Minister was told that some employees of the public broadcaster had been summoned by the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) on a Sunday to undergo an MRI or ultrasound scan. In this respect, Hernández explained that “health workers staff many facilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The equipment is there, the staff are there and perhaps it is not so unusual to be summoned on Saturday or Sunday for a diagnostic test.”

Health files for “serious violation” against an “osteopathy” center in Algarrobo for lack of authorization and health professional: {Translation}
– Following a complaint filed by the legal services of the College of Physiotherapists of Andalusia (ICPFA), the Malaga Health and Consumer Affairs Department has opened disciplinary proceedings against an osteopathy centre in the municipality of Algarrobo for an alleged infringement classified as ‘serious’ for ‘carrying out a possible health activity (osteopathy)’, without the required authorisation from the Health Department.
– In this regard, for several years, the Andalusian Association of Physiotherapists has been constantly requesting the Inspection Services of the Andalusian Regional Government to ensure compliance with the ruling handed down by the Supreme Court, which ratifies that osteopathy, chiromassage and chiropractic must be carried out by health professionals and, according to the Ministry of Health, only in Physiotherapy Units (U59). Parallel to these actions initiated by the Health Inspectorate, the 2nd Court of Torrox has opened proceedings against the person in charge of the aforementioned centre (O.A.P.G.) for a possible offence of professional intrusion, following a complaint filed by the ICPFA.

– President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday {pic} that the West would be directly fighting with Russia if it allowed Ukraine to strike Russian territory with Western-made long-range missiles, a move he said would alter the nature and scope of the conflict. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has been pleading with Kyiv’s allies for months to let Ukraine fire Western missiles including long-range U.S. ATACMS and British Storm Shadows deep into Russian territory to limit Moscow’s ability to launch attacks.
– In some of his most hawkish comments on the subject yet, Putin said such a move would drag the countries supplying Kyiv with long-range missiles directly into the war since satellite targeting data and the actual programming of the missiles’ flight paths would have to be done by NATO military personnel because Kyiv did not have the capabilities itself. “So this is not a question of allowing the Ukrainian regime to strike Russia with these weapons or not. UPDATE- “We Will Be A Wall Against All Pseudosciences” Says Health Minister: {Translation, summary}
– Vacuum therapy (cupping), light therapy for mental health problems, conscious breathing, chi-kung/qigong, zerobalancing, aromatherapy and relaxation techniques based on the induction of bodily sensations, already declared pseudotherapies, to be subject to state regulation says Minister; 8 more pseudotherapies to be regulated will be announced soon.
– The General Council of Physicians (CGCOM) and the General Council of Psychology {pic} have requested the Minister of Health, Mónica García, and the Mental Health Commissioner of her ministry, Belén González, for the “urgent” regulation of psychotherapies that lack scientific endorsement and its advertising.
– The main reason given for their inclusion in the field of pseudotherapies is the lack of scientific evidence, which rules out their use in the clinical setting. These therapies are part of the 16 that, according to the Ministry of Health last February, were ready to be published. Therefore, there are still eight more to be announced.

Tennis News- Nadal pulls out of Laver Cup:
– Rafael Nadal will not compete at the Laver Cup next week in Berlin, said the 22-time Grand Slam champion in a statement released by tournament organisers on Thursday. The competition takes place between 20-22 September.
– The Laver Cup pits a European team against a World team. Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe will captain the two six-player squads, as they have in all the six previous editions.
– Nadal pulled out of the US Open in August as he did not feel he could perform at his best.
– “I’m really disappointed to share that I won’t be able to compete at the Laver Cup in Berlin next week,” said the 38-year-old Spanish tennis great in the statement. “This is a team competition and to really support Team Europe, I need to do what’s best for them and at this moment there are other players who can help the team deliver the win.”

– Daisy – 4 years old, medium size Podenco, a very shy girl, but really wants to trust and be part of a family. Currently in kennels where she has come on really well, loves other dogs, and enjoys her training classes. Daisy really now needs to be part of a family, in a home environment, could you offer her a loving home, or a foster home? Fully vaccinated and neutered.
– Marron – A young Podenco, neutered and vaccinated, small to medium in size. He has recently learnt to trust humans, and loves the attention and home life. Currently in kennels.
– Please take a look at our website, where you will find more information and photos, plus details of other dogs and pups that we have in our care. Our adoption costs are €110 for pups that have been fully vaccinated, rabies, chip and passport and €180 for older dogs that have all vaccinations, papers and have been neutered. This contributes towards their vet and care costs, and helps us to continue rescuing abandoned dogs and cats.
