SPAIN
The Junta declares the meeting with Sánchez a total failure- ‘A new insult for Andalucia, Sánchez came without any proposals’: {Translation}
– The Junta has criticised that the president of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, ‘has once again shown contempt for Andalusia and has laughed at the Andalusians’, since in the meeting he held last Friday with the president of the Andalusian government, Juanma Moreno, ‘he came without any proposal’ and ‘did not plan to solve important problems’ of the Andalusian community. This is what the spokesperson for the Andalusian government and minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds, Carolina España, said in her assessment of the meeting between Moreno and Sánchez. In this context, the minister insisted that the President of the Government ‘only lives in Moncloa (presidential residence), and this living in Moncloa without governing is costing all Spaniards dearly’, but ‘particularly Andalusians, who are paying for the concessions and privileges granted to the independence movement’. ‘Sánchez wasted the time of the Andalusians in that meeting because the president has given us a kick up the rear’, Carolina España has clarified to stress that the head of the Spanish Executive “has not planned to solve the important problems of Andalusia, such as funding, health, education or dependence”. ‘Sánchez has once again made a mockery of the Andalusians,’ she added.
– In the same vein, she revealed that Sánchez ‘did not come with any proposal, when we know that he is negotiating through the back door with the pro-independence supporters’. The minister stressed that ‘without going any further, the number three of the PSOE is in Switzerland negotiating new concessions, new privileges with notorious criminal Puigdemont’.
– Likewise, Carolina España claimed that ‘Sánchez, once again, is wasting the time of the Autonomous Communities that are defending the Constitution’, while ‘he gains that time for closed-door negotiations with the Catalan pro-independence supporters who want to break up Spain’. ‘The privileged funding for Catalonia breaks the principles of equality and social cohesion, and is a total attack on equality among Spaniards,’ she said.
– ‘Andalusia receives 1.5 billion euros less than the average of the autonomous communities every year since 2009, and this privileged financing for the pro-independence movement is going to make the situation in Andalusia much worse, and we will not allow it’, she added.
– She pointed out that the President of the Junta ‘has personally gone to Madrid to ask Sánchez to withdraw his proposal for privileged financing for Catalonia’, while clarifying that ‘we are telling him to abandon this pro-independence delirium as soon as possible, which is going to cost Andalusia so much, as it is going to be the most disadvantaged and losing community’.
– In this regard, España pointed out that Sánchez, in this first round of meetings with Community leaders- with the Basque lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, ‘there have been agreements on the competences linked to social security, infrastructure, transport, among others’, while for Andalusia ‘not a single proposal, not a single commitment when Moreno had up to 100 claims’ for the Andalusian community. ‘In the end, Andalusia leaves Sánchez empty-handed while others leave with their pockets full, which the Andalusians also pay for. In view of this, she indicated that a new reform should be created, ‘where all the autonomous communities are represented, in the Conference of Presidents and in the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council’. ‘A Council of Presidents that is still without a date, we do not know what day it will be held and, of course, financing issues must be included on the agenda’, she added.
– Furthermore, with regard to the meeting between the two presidents, she added that ‘the only thing Sánchez said was that they were looking for formulas to be able to somehow meet the demands of the independence movement without harming the rest of the autonomous communities’. Against this, the Andalusian spokeswoman clarified that ‘we all know that if the money is the same and more resources are given to a territory, the rest will have fewer resources to exercise their powers to provide their services’.
– ‘I wonder if Sánchez is going to perform the miracle of the loaves and the fishes’, while emphasising that ‘what we don’t want is for him to try to raise taxes again’, since ‘there are already 69 times that the Spanish Government has raised taxes for all Spaniards’. Furthermore, she said that ‘the Andalusians are not going to pay more taxes to finance the independence party’.
– Finally, the Junta’s spokeswoman regretted that Sánchez in the meeting held on Friday ‘disappointed us’ although ‘he has been doing it for many years’. The Spanish Government ‘does have a great debt with Andalusia, so it is incomprehensible that it is wasting our time’, she clarified, to conclude that ‘we only expected justice with Andalusia and once again Sánchez denies it to us’, although from the Junta ‘we will continue to defend this community and all Andalusians’. All members of the Civil Guard, Police & Special Operations Units who wear uniforms must display their ID numbers- SUMAR claims many don’t, demands universal compliance: {Translation}
– Sumar has demanded that National Police officers should visibly display their identification number when in uniform in order to ‘prevent and sanction potential abuses’, to which the Government has replied that this requirement is already obligatory according to a 2007 instruction from the Ministry of the Interior.
– In a written reply, consulted by Europa Press, the Government refers to Instruction 13/2007 of the Secretary of State for Security, which establishes ‘the obligation to wear the personal identity number on uniforms, in a visible place’. ‘This obligation is configured as a right of citizens to identify the agents, at all times and without any positive action of demand on their part’, the government adds.
– The government’s response comes in response to questions from Vicenç Vidal, a member of parliament for Sumar, who mentioned an action by National Police officers on 25 May at a demonstration in Mallorca in which ‘it was difficult to see’ the identification number due, he says, ‘to its small size’. Correct identification, added the MÉS MP for Mallorca, who is a member of the Sumar group, is important as ‘an instrument for preventing and sanctioning potential abuses and, therefore, for defending the rights of citizens, which is why it is essential for it to be visible and clear’.
*VISIBLE AT A DISTANCE*
– In its response, the government points out that the identification must be displayed ‘in a clearly visible place and in such a way that at the so-called respect distance – approximately one metre and twenty centimetres – it can be read without difficulty by citizens’.
According to the aforementioned instruction, all members of the Guardia Civil and the Police who wear uniforms and/or work equipment, ‘including those special units that currently do not carry identification numbers’, must carry on their uniforms the personal identity number that corresponds to the professional card and the Professional Identity Card. This requirement is also contemplated ‘regardless of any currency, badges of assignment, title or diploma, function or speciality, permanence or merit, as well as decorations’.
– ‘As for the Mass Control Units’, adds the Government in reference to the “riot police”, “the decision was taken to have an identification number placed on the lower back of the anti-trauma waistcoat, given the difficulty of displaying the TIP personal identification number due to the protective equipment provided”.
– {Image shows two officers, only one is displaying an ID. Searching thru hundreds of photos, I only found one where you could actually see an ID number clearly displayed. I blocked out the faces and 2 digits of the ID to respect their privacy. -Ed.} Source, Spanish: https://www.europapress.es/nacional/noticia-sumar-reclama-policias-luzcan-identificacion-posibles-abusos-gobierno-dice-ya-obligatorio-20240922123547.html
MALAGA PROVINCE
Status of the Malaga reservoirs on Sunday, September 22, 2024:
VÉLEZ-MÁLAGA
Water cuts in Vélez-Málaga increase by two hours a day and are expanding to more areas: {Translation, summary}
– The more than 85,000 inhabitants of Vélez-Málaga have been living with daily water cuts since 30 June 2023, due to the extreme drought that has hit the province for five years. The restrictions have fluctuated in times and areas, but have never been less than seven hours a day. However, after the summer months par excellence, July and August, in which they had been maintained at this figure, from 00.00 to 7.00 hours a day, since last Wednesday the situation has become considerably more complicated. And it could get worse in a few weeks if it continues not to rain properly.
– Specifically, the water restrictions, for the moment, have become nine hours a day, from 22.30 to 7.30 hours, and have also been extended to practically the entire
municipality, when until now they were concentrated in Vélez-Málaga, Torre del Mar and several scattered areas such as La Dehesa, Las Chozas, La Crujía and Aldea Alta. In the latter areas the cut in recent months has been from 22.00 to 7.00 hours.
– However, as reported by the City Council, since last Wednesday the cuts reach Vélez-Málaga, Torre del Mar, Caleta de Vélez and the western area of the municipality, that is, Almayate, Valle-Niza, Benajarafe and Chilches. For the time being, this situation will continue until Sunday, when the Consistory and Aqualia are expected to update the timetables and cut-off zones.
*Reduction for the Real Feria de San Miguel*
– Sources from the bipartite government team, PP and GIPMTM, have admitted to SUR that the situation ‘is difficult and complicated’ and that the outlook for the next few weeks ‘is not at all promising unless there is abundant rain very soon, so the water cuts could soon increase’. However, they have indicated that with a view to the Royal Fair of San Miguel de Velez-Malaga, from 24 to 29 September, they will try to reduce the restrictions in the centre of Velez. UPDATE- EU Confirms Official Entry/Exit System Launch Date:
– The EU Commission has officially confirmed the launch date of the EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES). In a speech at eu-LISA (European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice), the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, revealed that the EES would enter into operation on November 10, 2024.
– Even though it was previously announced on multiple media platforms that November 10 would be the launch date of the EES, (as well as announcing possible delays to this date), this is the first time that the EU has officially confirmed its implementation date and set a target day. The permanent Spanish DNI card for those over 70 was rejected as valid ID at a European border: {Translation}
– The ID cards issued in Spain for people over 70 years of age, with permanent validity, have an expiry date of 1999. These identity cards have already caused difficulties in accessing some European countries, according to the Infoperiodistas agency.
– At a routine checkpoint in a Nordic country, the policeman at the border post refused to let a Spanish citizen pass with his permanent ID card, questioning whether the document contained an obvious forgery. Fortunately the citizen concerned remembered that he was also carrying his passport, with which he was able to pass through the checkpoint without any objection.
– In most European countries there is no perpetual validity of identity documents beyond a certain age. It is understandable that if an official, instead of reading ‘permanent validity’ in the appropriate box – as was also the case in Spain in the past – finds that someone has given a citizen no less than eight centuries of probable life expectancy, he or she might have some doubts, according to the Infoperiodistas agency.
– The occurrence seems to come from a somewhat bizarre computer initiative, which grants a principle of immortality to all Spaniards when they cross the threshold of 70 years of age. This may create further problems in other areas and is significant, as there are some six and a half million Spaniards who are entering or already within this age bracket, and who receive these permanent ID cards.
– Some time ago, as reported by the Infoperiodistas agency, problems were also detected with these DNIs, when some citizens wanted to enter the Treasury website to obtain their reference number, because the system did not recognise an expiry date on the DNIs of 01-01-9999. Source, Spanish: https://andaluciainformacion.es/andalucia/1763209/el-dni-permanente-con-ano-de-caducidad-9999-fue-rechazado-en-una-frontera-europea/
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)
Israeli historian and World Economic Forum (WEF) AI Advisor Yuval Noah Harari- “There is a totalitarian potential in artificial intelligence never seen before”: {Translation, summary}
– {These are very unusual revelations from one of the prime supporters of the New World Order, exposing the potential evils of AI and how it is being abused to benefit the globalist agenda. I wonder what he is up to, stabbing his bosses in the back like this in his new book? -Ed.}
– The Israeli thinker, consolidated as one of the most influential thinkers of the 21st century thanks to the success of his essays Sapiens and Homo Deus, continues to develop in Nexus (Editorial Debate) his thesis on how the construction of myths, religions and collective fictions have been key elements in our social structures. To this, he links what he considers to be humanity’s latest breakthrough in this regard, artificial intelligence. His message is pessimistic: if we do not act now, there is a certain risk that machine learning systems will bring a new era of darkness.
– ‘We have to understand that there is a totalitarian potential in AI like we have never seen before in history,’ Harari said in a recent meeting with journalists in which elDiario.es was present. Artificial intelligence and its integration into devices, whether personal, household, urban or vehicular, could lead to the development of an unprecedented surveillance capability, warns the historian.
– ‘The difference between authoritarian and totalitarian regimes is that the former control the political sphere, the military or budgets, but leave people to their own devices most of the time. The tyrant cannot know what each of us is doing and thinking every minute of the day. But that is just what totalitarian regimes try to do. Regimes like Stalin’s in the Soviet Union or Hitler’s in Germany didn’t just want to control the military and budgets. They wanted to control every aspect of people’s lives. What you hear, what you see, what you say, who you meet, what books you read, everything. But even Hitler and Stalin had difficulties, there were limits to the control they could exercise. They couldn’t follow everybody all the time. Stalin didn’t have 200 million KGB agents to follow everybody, and if he did, what does a KGB agent do? He makes a report on you. The KGB headquarters in Moscow would have been flooded with 200 million paper reports. Even if a KGB agent saw you do something and wrote about it, there would be a very high probability that the report would simply gather dust. Nobody would ever read it because they wouldn’t have enough analysts. So even in the Soviet Union, there was some measure of privacy,’ Harari elaborates.
– ‘Now artificial intelligence could make it possible to create total surveillance regimes that would annihilate privacy. In an AI country, you don’t need human agents to track all humans,’ he warns.
– The thinker reminds us that this situation is not so far from reality. ‘My own country, Israel, is building a total surveillance regime in the occupied Palestinian territories, with cameras, drones and software tracking everyone all the time,’ he continues: ’You don’t need human analysts to review all the information either. This is what AI does. It can go through huge amounts of data, video, images, text or audio, analyse it and recognise patterns. Israel also uses AI to turn all this information into military targets and assassinate them, Israeli intelligence sources have acknowledged. CULTURAL REVOLUTION
“I changed my sex because I don’t feel identified by the definition of man as a potential oppressor or rapist”: {Translation, summary}
– Since the Trans Law was passed, feminists have denounced numerous cases of men who have changed their sex to try to avoid the gender violence law, to benefit from the more than 500 legal and financial advantages of being a woman in Spain, or simply to ridicule the controversial law. However, there is another current of men who have done so for very different reasons and yet are hardly given a voice. They are those who, for a long time – perhaps since the no less controversial Gender Violence Law was passed in 2004 – say they do not feel identified with the image that laws and politicians – and especially politicians – project of what a man is.
– ‘There are a series of elements that appear in the law, such as men having a relationship of power over women, and speeches by ministers or former ministers who defend the idea that men are potential rapists or that half of the population exercises violence on the other half. And I do not identify with the definition of a man as an oppressor or potential rapist, but I do identify with other things that both politicians and the law associate with women, such as empathy or care; for example, almost 20 years ago I took a reduced working day to look after my children. So, when the Trans Law was passed, I went to the Registry and changed my sex’, explains Miguel Colomo, a man biologically speaking and, for some months now, a woman on his ID card. Alameda bids farewell to its nuns after 140 years of service to the community: {Translation, summary}
– On 26 September, at 19.30, the Bishop of Malaga, Jesús Catalá, will preside at the farewell Eucharist for the nuns in the Purísima Concepción parish church in Alameda. The whole town has been involved in the preparations for this date. After the Eucharist, a farewell dinner will be held in their honour.
– The Mercedarian Sisters of Charity, founded by Blessed Juan Nepomuceno Zegrí, are present with a residence in Malaga city and, until now, also in the village of Alameda. They began to serve there in 1878. First they did so with a school, then a kindergarten and, lately, a residence for the elderly which houses 25 people.
The charisma with which they were born was ‘to free human beings from their slavery’ and this mission has led them to identify at each moment the greatest need to which they had to respond.
– At present, the Alameda community has five nuns who, due to their advanced age, will go to different houses of elderly sisters in Malaga, Granada, Cazorla and a residence in Cordoba.
