Fiesta del Conejo (Rabbit Festival)- Parauta: Sat, 9 Nov.

Six traditions and festivals that are still going strong in Malaga province, despite Halloween:

France Announces Stricter Rules for Obtaining Residence Permits in 2025:
– Candidates for residence permits in France will face tighter rules in 2025, most of them concerning language skills, and even nationalities with knowledge of French, which is the case with Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian applicants, will not be excluded from this requirement.
– According to the immigration bill adopted in 2024, only those passing the French language exam will be granted certain residence permits, Schengen.News reports.

The Police warn about the scam with the red telecare button in Spain: {Translation, summary}
– Spain’s National Police has issued an alert through its social networks, warning the population, especially the elderly, about a worrying activity detected around the famous red telecare button. The scammers pose as 112 telecare service workers and offer the emergency device in exchange for quick assistance in case of need, such as a fall or a blow.
– Once the scam has been set up, the criminals take advantage of the trust and vulnerability of the elderly, one of the groups most exposed to this type of practice. The scammers present themselves as representatives of a supposed telecare service and, with a professional tone, try to persuade the victims that they need an emergency button at home, which is activated with a monthly subscription.
