Your questions answered by Ruth from Compare Funerals Spain
– Why should I have a funeral plan? Having been funeral planning for over 10 year I’ve experienced some very sad and upset families when nothing is in place. A Spanish funeral plans will ensure that all costs are covered for your funeral service. Getting a prepaid plan will help you feel assured that your family will not be under any financial strain when it comes to paying for your funeral. A plan also means you can have peace of mind that everything has been organised in advance, so your loved ones do not have to make any difficult decisions.
– Why choose Compare Funerals? There seems to be a gap in Spain between independent funeral directors, offering plans at a good price but lacking the security of an established Trust or ability to cover a client overseas and Providers who seem to charge more than necessary. We want to be right in the middle and offer the best of both worlds. Our best-priced plan is only 2,250€ and does the essentials.
– Can I do a payment plan? All our plans are payable in full or over up to 5 years interest FREE. The interest free periods are based on initial deposit. The higher the deposit the less your monthly repayments will be.
– Can I transfer the plan? The answer is YES. You could name 2 people on one plan however if you had a friend/family member pass away we can transfer the plan into a 3rd party’s name.
– What happens if I move? All our plans offer the equivalent service in Spain (including the islands), Portugal, Republic of Ireland and the UK. If you moved to the UK, we would transfer the plan to one of our many partners at no extra cost to you.
– Is paperwork included? Yes, your family will receive a death certificate in Spanish and an international certification in English. We also provide a cremation certificate that allows the ashes on board a plane.
We are DigameXtra sponsors, so our contact info can be found everyday in the Sponsor’s Section.

The Civil Guard does not find ultras in the dozen individuals in the spotlight for the altercations with Sánchez: {Translation, summary}
– The Information Service of the Civil Guard, in charge of investigating the altercations that took place during the visit of the Kings and Pedro Sanchez, to Paiporta last Sunday, has not found any indication to support Sanchez’s claims that those who participated in the events are ultras, according to sources consulted by ABC. A dozen people are in the crosshairs of the investigation, of which three have been arrested in the last hours for the damage to the car of the President of the Government. Neither the latter nor the rest of the individuals who appear in images, or that have been pointed out in any statement, are linked to any extreme right-wing groups, as had been initially insisted upon by President Sanchez.
– Those arrested so far are people from the area who were in Paiporta working as volunteers, according to the same sources. The three detainees are linked to the damage caused to the vehicle of the President of the Government and his bodyguard. One of them, the first one, was released yesterday after having passed to the disposition of the Court of Instruction number 3 of Torrente (Valencia). He is a neighbor who, with a sweeper’s brush, managed to break the rear window of one of the black SUVs that formed the retinue of Sánchez, the Reyes and Mazón. No precautionary measures have been imposed on him, although he continues to be investigated in the framework of an open case for attack against authority, public disorder and material damage. The other two arrested – with the initials of B.F.M and G.M.C – are also residents of nearby towns, Albal and Godella, respectively. One of them was also released last night and the third was awaiting a hearing. Source, Spanish: https://www.abc.es/sociedad/ninguno-tres-20241107214730-nt.html

All together- this is how the volunteers synchronized to clean Massanassa: {Translation}
– The image is beautiful, were it not for the fact that what is being removed by several dozen synchronized volunteers is tons of water and mud. The video of a veritable army of young people deployed to bail out the mud with everything they have at hand (shovels, brushes and mops) has gone viral. It shows them moving down the street, in rows of six or seven people, well coordinated and moving in the same direction liters of mud to clean Joanot Martorell, a street in Massanassa, Valencia, which is among the towns most affected by the DANA.
– The video of this army of volunteers was recorded by Anna Romeu and has gone around the world from a town where human generosity has been able to partially alleviate the devastation of floods that clogged the entire sewage system. – The competition will be carried out entirely with the Sportident electronic control system, so each athlete must carry a chip or card or use a designated app.
– The competition center will be located at the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria school between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. In the starting area itself, orientation talks will be held for people who are new to this sport and which will cover basic concepts of interpreting maps and symbols. These sessions will last 15 minutes, and after them you will be able to participate in the tour. Departures are scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in order of arrival, and at 1:00 p.m. the finish line will close.
– The test will be scored for the 2024 Provincial Orienteering Circuit.
– Registrations can now be made at the following Web link: https://clubcoma.org/2024-benagalbon/. The deadline to complete it is next November 19 at 8:02 p.m.

The ‘Operation Kamala’ that the Obamas concocted ends in an embarrassing failure: {Translation, summary}
– Twice have the Obamas delivered the United States a Donald Trump. The first, in 2016, after two terms that increased dissatisfaction with the alleged elitism of the
Democratic Party and the perception that the outgoing president wanted to impose, by obligation, Hillary Clinton as successor. And now, with a failed strategy orchestrated by Obama and his close circle so that his friend, Vice President Kamala Harris {pic}, with low popularity and without having won a single primary, could achieve an electoral victory in an election in which the economy and fatigue with identity politics were decisive.
– Obama’s and the Democrats’ unease had been evident for days, if not weeks. On October 17, the former president attended a funeral at St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Washington, where he met with Joe Biden on camera. In the conversation captured, Biden seemed somewhere between absent and annoyed, while Obama shook his head and stated, “I need to hang out with her more.”
– And he did. Obama traveled halfway across the country participating in rallies, while his wife, Michelle, made an impassioned plea in Michigan in defense of the future of children. He even chided African-American men, suggesting they were not as committed to a female candidate of their race as they should be. The two, husband and wife, used their contacts and mobilized well-known figures: Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Cardi B, Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny and Jennifer Lopez.
– However, the problems of the stars are not the problems of ordinary citizens. The election was not decided by Lady Gaga’s recital in Philadelphia or Julia Roberts’ recorded message encouraging women to vote behind their husbands’ backs, as if it were a Netflix movie. The strategy of leaving graffiti and post-it notes in women’s restrooms encouraging sorority girls to counteract the patriarchy turned out to be a silly quip.
– What weighed heavily was the reality of inflation: the shopping basket is unaffordable, a coffee is over five dollars in many places, and a kilo of oranges costs ten. These economic issues were absent in Obama’s message and in the speeches of the stars, who promoted Kamala Harris as the protagonist of a fairy tale ‘made in Hollywood’, going from poverty in Oakland to the presidency as ‘Madam President’.
– The Democrats failed to present a clear proposal beyond allowing abortion in states that restrict it and protecting democracy in broad terms. There is a deep mistrust of political correctness and ‘woke’, that is, of what many perceive as dogmatism on issues of gender, identity and environmentalism, associated with censorship and intolerance.
– Harris was unwilling or unable to disassociate herself from these issues, nor from the burden of Biden’s unpopularity. When asked on The View what she would have done differently had she been Biden, she missed the opportunity by responding with a phrase (that Trump was quick to exploit): “No, I can’t think of anything right now.” Source, Spanish: https://www.abc.es/internacional/operacion-kamala-urdieron-obama-acaba-bochornoso-fracaso-20241106042710-nt.html
