SPAIN

More than 100,000 people call out government ‘negligence’ in Valencia flood disaster protest:
{Note: Most of the controlled mainstream media killed this story which should have come out this weekend following the Friday demonstration. Evidently they didn’t want to encourage more protesters to join in on Saturday/Sunday. It is only now leaking out, 3 days later, on Monday afternoon, after people are back to work. -Ed.}
– People have taken to the streets of Valencia criticising the response of the authorities before the deadly Dana storm swept through the region, as well as a lack of swift action hours after the destruction. Some 130,000 demonstrators on Friday 8 November criticised the lack of warnings prior to the arrival of the weather, as well as a delay in the deployment of troops to help out with rescue efforts after flash flooding devastated Valencian towns and communities and killed at least 223 people.
– Criticism was spread across both sides of the political chessboard, however Valencian president Carlos Mazón was the main source of anger for demonstrators as many called for his resignation.
– Demonstrators started their protest in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where there were major altercations requiring police intervention. Some protesters had travelled from towns that were completely filled with mud, and ended up in the Plaza Manises, where the regional government offices are headquartered. There, they staged a scene that will undoubtedly mark a defining moment in this period as dozens of mud-stained boots and trainers were left by the main entrance to the government offices. Just outside the door, there was a T-shirt with the slogan in Valencian, ‘Sols el poble salva al poble’ (Only the people save the people). ANDALUCÍA

A new DANA is approaching Andalucia: Aemet activates the first rain alerts, heavy downpours likely in Malaga: {Translation, summary}
– The weather stability that has been present in Andalucia since last week will come to an end. Temperatures will continue to drop and the rains will appear intensely. Although there is still uncertainty about the exact location of these precipitations and the intensity with which they will occur, it is most likely that they will begin in the middle of the week.
– For today, clear skies are expected, with sunshine and highs that will be above 20ºC practically throughout the community. The first clouds will arrive on Wednesday, which will be the day of the week with the lowest temperatures. These clouds will bring the first precipitations of November.
– From Wednesday, November 13, a mass of cold air will enter the peninsula, according to tiempo.es, and it is very likely to be isolated as a DANA or isolated cold squall, especially in the Mediterranean area, causing temperatures to drop further.
– A slight rise in temperatures is expected for Thursday, which will continue at least until the end of the week. The chances of precipitation will remain until Sunday, in principle with the same intensity.
– Orange Alert: The clouds will be arriving in the middle of the week, leaving rains in Almeria, Jaen, Granada, Cordoba and Malaga, to spread to the rest of the provinces in the following days. The Aemet has activated orange alert in Malaga for risk of heavy rainfall that may again cause damage. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued at 12:05 p.m. this Monday, November 11, a “special warning of adverse phenomena”, given the risk of “strong to torrential rainfall” occurring on the peninsula and the Balearic Islands. The adverse situation will develop between Tuesday, the 12th and at least until Saturday, the 16th, with a degree of probability “very high (greater than 70%)”.
– The Aemet statement expressly cites the provinces of Malaga and Granada as the epicenter of the cyclogenesis that is already brewing, due to an Isolated Cold Low (BFA), as described by the director of the Meteorological Center, Jesús Riesco. In this case, the worst is expected to happen on Wednesday, when throughout the day quantities are expected in both areas “that could exceed 180 mm (l/m2), although they cannot be ruled out in the areas surrounding the area.” those mentioned above, as well as in the Balearic Islands. This value refers to the entire day of the 13th, and could also continue on Thursday, the 14th.

Major drug sales organization dismantled with raids from Jerez to Torrox, was using carcinogenic phenacetin to cut their cocaine & heroin: {Translation, summary}
– The National Police has dismantled one of the main organizations for the supply and distribution of narcotic substances in the city of Jerez de la Frontera, all the municipalities and districts in its area of influence, the countryside, the Northwest Coast and the Sierra de Cádiz. , arresting 13 individuals, including the two leaders and their main lieutenant, as well as the rest of the people who made up the criminal group.
– The arrests have been carried out in the so-called ‘Operation Escaleritas IV’, which began in the early hours of last Friday, November 8, in this Cadiz town with up to 14 home searches, most of them in a neighborhood in the southern part of the city. indicated in a note by the National Police.
– In total, they have seized 174,334 euros in cash, more than one and a half kilos of cocaine, one kilo of heroin, 585 grams of marijuana and 100 grams of hashish, in addition to two revolver-type short firearms, an automatic pistol, several compressed air weapons, a taser-type electric weapon, three knives, two large pocket knives and three katana-type swords.
Seven precision scales, drug handling equipment, four high-end vehicles and numerous electrical devices for marijuana cultivation have also been seized.
– The criminals were organized into four teams that rotated weekly taking turns to manage the sale of heroin, cocaine, “rebujito” (a mixture of both substances), hashish, marijuana and synthetic drugs.
– Agents have collected evidence indicating that the organization also supplied other smaller “camel” traffickers, who then distributed the drugs in their municipalities.
– The investigation managed to identify up to 13 properties, most located in the Jerez neighborhood of San Telmo or its surroundings. These properties were arranged for specific functions, in such a way that some were intended for the handling and cutting of drugs, and others for the storage of drugs, cash and to hide the weapons that the organization had.
– In another home, 14 kilos of phenacetin (a now-banned painkiller often linked to the death of Howard Hughes), were seized, which the organization used to adulterate cocaine and heroin, thus increasing the toxicity of these substances. Phenacetin was widely used until the third quarter of the twentieth century, often in the form of an A.P.C., or “aspirin-phenacetin-caffeine” compound analgesic, as a remedy for fever and pain. In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration ordered the withdrawal of drugs containing phenacetin in November 1983, due to its carcinogenic and kidney-damaging properties. It was also banned in India.
– The investigations led to locating the homes of the alleged ringleaders of the plot, located in luxury homes in Torrox and La Teja .
– The arrests and the 14 entries and searches occurred simultaneously during the early hours of last Friday, November 8. The operation remains open and new arrests are not ruled out. AXARQUÍA

The authorities & officials who claimed they were making progress constructing the proposed Axarquía desalination plant knowingly misled the public! They have absolutely no idea when construction will begin, let alone where it will be located! It is still without land- three location alternatives are being considered:
– La Mancomunidad Oriental, the irrigators and the Board claim that the project can begin by next spring, when Acuamed will take the reins to execute it, with a cost of one hundred million and a construction period of four years. {More than double the time typical for such a project in most of the world. -Ed.}
– Bureaucratic procedures continue to delay this action, for which one hundred million euros have been budgeted by the State. After last June it was announced that the project could begin by the end of the year, now this deadline has been extended by a few more months, until spring 2025.
– The three possible locations that are being studied are the one located next to the treatment plant, on the left bank of the Vélez River bed; another on the right bank, around the Almayate plain, and a third next to the Seco river, between Torre del Mar and Caleta de Vélez.
– “It is still to be defined how the formula for the management of the desalination plant will be, if it will be transferred to the end users, who would have to create a common entity, between the Mancomunidad and the irrigators, or if Acuamed would manage it directly”, said Campos, the president of the Junta Central de Usuarios del Sur del Guaro (Central Board of Users of the South Guaro) who, despite the public skepticism in the eastern region about the real possibilities of the public desalination plant becoming a reality one day, wants to see the glass half full and trusts that it will be executed ‘in a horizon of four or five years at the most’. COSTA DEL SOL

Two thirds of the Costa del Sol’s reclaimed water is released into the sea due to bureaucratic and other issues:
– Reclaimed water is water obtained from the treatment of wastewater, which is no longer merely a waste product to be returned to the environment in good condition, but offers an increasingly wide range of options for saving water being taken from the reservoirs and wells in Malaga province. However, there are still a number of hurdles to overcome in order to get more out of these resources, something that the Costa del Sol has pioneered for the irrigation of golf courses. These difficulties include key issues such as increasingly demanding legislation, lack of pipelines, the quality of the water obtained and a certain mistrust that still persists in some sectors.
– After taking a long look at the data from the three main water management companies in Malaga province (Acosol, Emasa and Axaragua), it turns out that only one third of the reclaimed water produced is distributed to buyers. Unfortunately, two thirds go to the sea. More and more treatment plants have tertiary treatment facilities, but there is still work to be done. In any case the province can currently produce 60 cubic hectometres of reclaimed water per year. This is, for comparison, the water consumption of Malaga city for a little less than 18 months. Greece Looks To Abolish Real Estate Investment Option From Its Golden Visa Program From January 2025:
– Greece may end its real estate investment option from its Golden Visa Program, starting January 1, 2025, to deal with the housing crisis. By doing so, Greece would become the third European country to take such a step, citing the same reasons, after Portugal and Spain, Schengen.News reports.
– The Ministry of National Economy and Finance introduced a tax bill consisting of provisions to change the Golden Visa Program. Among the conditions for benefiting from the Residency by Investment Scheme of the Hellenic Republic would be investing in startups instead of real estate investments.
