The sale and purchase of homes in Andalusia returns to positive rates with a growth of 37.3% in September: {Translation}
– The sale and purchase of homes in Andalusia in September has grown by 37.3% over the same month last year (compared to a rise of 41.49% nationally), after leaving negative rates and totaling 11,344 transactions. Compared to the previous month, the increase in the community has been 11.9%, according to data published Monday by the National Statistics Institute (INE). The 11,344 home sales and purchases represent the fourth best figure for this index in a September in the region in the historical series.
– Of the sale and purchase transactions recorded in September in Andalusia, 10,340 were made on free housing and 1,004 on state-subsidized properties. According to 
the age of the properties, 2,585 transactions corresponded to new homes, and 8,759 were related to used buildings. In September, a total of 17,221 transactions were carried out on homes. In addition to the 11,344 sales and purchases, 2,784 were inheritances, 328 donations and ten exchanges. European oil giants step back from renewables path:
– Almost five years ago, BP embarked on an ambitious attempt to transform itself from an oil company into a business focused on low-carbon power. The British company is now trying to return to its roots as a big oil and gas player with a growth story to match rivals, revive its share price and allay investor concerns over future profits. Rivals Shell and Norway’s state-controlled Equinor are also scaling back energy transition plans set out earlier this decade.

BP has also slowed down low-carbon operations, halting 18 early-stage potential hydrogen projects and announcing plans to sell wind and solar operations. It has recently cut its hydrogen team in London by more than half to 40 staff, company sources told Reuters. A BP spokesperson declined to comment on the layoffs.
– Shell CEO Wael Sawan has vowed to take a ruthless approach to improve its

Spending per inhabitant on health in Spain is 20% lower than the European average: {Translation}
– Spain invests 2,822 euros per inhabitant per year in healthcare, 20% less than the European Union average (3,533 euros) and almost half of what Germany spends (5,317 euros). According to the latest OECD report, Health Panorama: Europe 2024, although Spain remains the European country with the highest life expectancy, it continues to show certain deficiencies in terms of investment or the guarantee of some benefits, such as oral health, which is only 2% covered by the State, compared to 35% of the EU average.
– The document published this Monday shows an under-investment in Spanish healthcare, with public spending well below the European average (74% compared to 81% of the EU average), which forces Spaniards to have to pay directly from their pockets for 19% of the services (compared to 15% of the European average)- an expense that is especially important when it comes to going to the dentist or when it comes to buying glasses and hearing aids. In fact, in Europe, only three countries cover more than 60% of dental expenses (Croatia, Germany and France), while coverage of dental expenses is much more limited in the other countries, which tend to restrict benefits or treatments to specific age groups.
– The same applies to therapeutic appliances, such as spectacles, contact lenses, hearing aids or wheelchairs. The State only covers 3% of these medical benefits in Spain, while the European average is 37%, and there are countries where this coverage is significantly higher. This is the case of Iceland (82%) or France and Malta (69%, respectively).
– Thus, by type of service, Spain stands out above all for its investment in hospital care, which is higher in comparison with the other countries analyzed (45% of total expenditure is hospital care, compared to 37% of the EU average). Spending on drugs and medical goods is also slightly higher (20% compared to 17% in Europe); and as for primary care, it remains at European levels (24% of total spending, which in the EU is 25%). Investment, however, is lower in the dependency sector (Spain spends 5% of its expenditure on long-term care); on prevention (3%); or on administrative services (3%).
