ANNUAL HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER
I can only produce DigameXtra with the financial support of my readers. Once a year, for 7 weeks, I do a fundraiser to help pay production expenses throughout the whole year. This year’s goal is to receive a donation from 4% of subscribers. The 4% Club finances DigameXtra for the 96% group that don’t donate. Which group will you belong to? The generosity of the 4% Club members is greatly appreciated.
Just like your morning coffee,
what would you do
without your morning DigameXtra?
– Holiday Donation Info, 2 Methods –
#1. You may drop cash donations off in person and say hello, by appointment, or place them in my mailbox beside my door anytime. Please be sure to include your name on the envelope- there are benefits to being on the DigameXtra Donor’s lists, such as not needing to open an issue every 2 weeks to maintain your posting privileges, but only if you donate at least €30. Due to health reasons, unannounced drop-ins are inconvenient for me. But if I am expecting you, no problem! My mailbox has the name HARRIS on it. Email me for map and directions. Cash donations are strongly preferred.
#2. Alternatively, you may send me an Amazon ES (Spain) “eGift card” by email. You need to have an Amazon.es account. The only info you need is my email address and your name (the sender’s name). Remember, this is an “eGift card” you buy that Amazon emails directly to me, don’t buy a plain “gift card”. Use the link provided below to access the “eGift card” purchase page.

Your questions answered by Ruth from Compare Funerals Spain
– Why should I have a funeral plan? Having been funeral planning for over 10 year I’ve experienced some very sad and upset families when nothing is in place. A Spanish funeral plans will ensure that all costs are covered for your funeral service. Getting a prepaid plan will help you feel assured that your family will not be under any financial strain when it comes to paying for your funeral. A plan also means you can have peace of mind that everything has been organised in advance, so your loved ones do not have to make any difficult decisions.
– Why choose Compare Funerals? There seems to be a gap in Spain between independent funeral directors, offering plans at a good price but lacking the security of an established Trust or ability to cover a client overseas and Providers who seem to charge more than necessary. We want to be right in the middle and offer the best of both worlds. Our best-priced plan is only 2,250€ and does the essentials.
– Can I do a payment plan? All our plans are payable in full or over up to 5 years interest FREE. The interest free periods are based on initial deposit. The higher the deposit the less your monthly repayments will be.
– Can I transfer the plan? The answer is YES. You could name 2 people on one plan however if you had a friend/family member pass away we can transfer the plan into a 3rd party’s name.
– What happens if I move? All our plans offer the equivalent service in Spain (including the islands), Portugal, Republic of Ireland and the UK. If you moved to the UK, we would transfer the plan to one of our many partners at no extra cost to you.
– Is paperwork included? Yes, your family will receive a death certificate in Spanish and an international certification in English. We also provide a cremation certificate that allows the ashes on board a plane.
We are DigameXtra sponsors, so our contact info can be found everyday in the Sponsor’s Section.

SPAIN
The largest olive oil producer in the world denounces product fraud in Spain- “They are very well-known companies”: {Translation, summary}
– The president of the cooperative Dcoop, Antonio Luque {pic}, has dropped a bombshell today in the oil sector to ensure that in Spain there is a fraud with olive oil, one “that many companies commit” and that is to mix it with pomace or sunflower to lower the production cost.
– This is a relevant fact because of who is saying it, since Luque is president of what is already the world’s largest producer of ‘liquid gold’. “We know who is doing it with names and surnames,” he said, adding that they are well-known companies but can not give the name because it lacks the evidence, although he clarified that industry insiders won’t be surprised because ‘everyone knows’.
– As evidence of what he has stated, the president of Dcoop refers to prices, which have been so controversial in the last two years. “Last season the refined oil was worth six euros and lampante seven” (price for the industry before refining), Luque recalled, which according to him goes against the logic of the market, as the former is more expensive to manufacture than the latter, and could only be explained by some kind of adulteration. Even, he remarked, the fraud would extend to extra virgin oils, although to a lesser extent.
– Dcoop assures that authorities have ignored their requests to investigate and have
simply referred them to the controls that are currently made, which this company considers insufficient because they are based on the tasting system, not a chemical analysis. For this reason, they demand that the Public Prosecutor’s Office do what it has not done in years, they say, and investigate all Spanish producers, in addition to reforming the inspections so that they can trace the entire transformation process.
– As already advanced, Luque states that fraud is an open secret in the sector. He even mentions that there is a well-known wholesale distribution company that “pays 50 cents more for the product than the competition because they don’t want a diluted product”. Here Come The Brain Police- Catalan audiovisual authority will force all radio stations to broadcast at least 25% of music in Catalan: {Translation, summary}

The Government studies a train between Nerja and Algeciras, again: {Translation, summary}
– Within the working group, Transport has announced that it will carry out a feasibility study of the railway corridor. To this end, it will provide 1.2 million euros for its drafting in 12 months. The study will include long-term actions to improve mobility throughout the Costa del Sol, based both on the enhancement of the current line Malaga – Fuengirola, the most profitable in Spain, as well as proposals for possible extensions or extensions of the same.
– The scope of the feasibility study will include, on the one hand, the Western Costa del Sol, structured in four sections. From Malaga to Fuengirola, from there to Marbella, another to Estepona and the fourth to Algeciras. On the other hand, the extension to Nerja will be studied.
– The feasibility study will include the corresponding analysis of alternatives, demand studies and a cost-benefit analysis from the socio-economic point of view to advance in the most suitable train model for the Costa del Sol. This feasibility study is a mandatory requirement imposed by the Railway Sector Law because previous studies lack an Environmental Impact Statement and are no longer valid. Putin says Russia produces 10 times more missiles than NATO and warns- a massive Oreshnik missile attack is “equivalent to a nuclear bomb”: {Translation}
– The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has confirmed this Thursday the beginning of the mass production of the new Oreshnik ballistic missile, which the Russian forces used last week for the first time to launch an attack against Ukraine. He has assured that a massive bombardment with this type of projectile would be equivalent in terms of effects “to the launching of a nuclear bomb”. He stressed that everything in the epicenter of the explosion caused by an Oreshnik attack “turns, in fact, into dust” and reiterated that the speed of the missile (2.5-3 kilometers per second) makes it undetectable by enemy anti-missile batteries.
– During his participation in Kazakhstan at the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Putin has insisted that Russia “was forced” to test the new missile in combat conditions “in response to attacks with Western long-range weapons” against Russian territory. He has added that he is referring to the U.S. ATACMS and British Storm Shadow missile strikes, which hit Russian military infrastructure on several occasions over the past ten days. “Despite our warnings about the danger of an escalation of the conflict, attacks were carried out against our territory,” the head of the Kremlin noted.
– In that line, he has assured that Russia “will always respond” to such attacks with Western weaponry. “Of course, we will respond to the attacks that are carried out against the Russian territory with long-range missiles,” said Putin, who pointed out that Russia will possibly use again a hypersonic ballistic missile Oreshnik. And he warned that the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Russian army “are selecting targets for destruction on the territory of Ukraine, which could be military facilities, defense industry enterprises or decision-making centers in Kiev”.
– The Russian leader said that Russia produces 10 times more missile systems and related equipment, than all NATO countries put together. “Next year this production will increase by another 25-30%,” he added.
– Putin also stressed that the Kremlin is aware in detail of Western arms supplies to Ukraine: “We know, of course, how many weapons systems the potential enemy has, where exactly they are located, how many weapons have been delivered to Ukraine and how many are planned to be delivered”. Moscow launches massive attack with drones and missiles against Ukrainian energy infrastructure:
– Russia unleashed its second big attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure this month on Thursday, triggering deep power cuts across the country. President Vladimir Putin said Moscow had struck in response to Ukraine’s strikes on Russian territory with U.S. medium-range ATACMS missiles. He said Russia’s future targets could include “decision-making centres” in Kyiv.
– Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of a “despicable escalation”, saying it had used cruise missiles with cluster munitions. Infrastructure facilities were damaged in nine regions, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry said.
– Over 1 million people lost power in the immediate aftermath of the strikes, and millions more had their existing schedule of rolling power cuts intensified.
– Ukraine’s air force said Russia used 91 missiles and 97 drones in Thursday’s attack. It said 12 of those had hit their targets, most of which were energy and fuel facilities. “The enemy is using a large number of missiles and drones. Their massive use in certain areas often exceeds the number of means of (air defence) cover,” the air force said in a statement. The attack reinforced fears of long power cuts during the winter months as temperatures hover around zero.

Love Him Or Hate Him, Trump Gets Things Done, Even Before Taking Office:
– Trump says Mexico’s president has ‘agreed to stop’ migrants crossing into US through her country in ‘Very productive conversation!’: President-elect Donald Trump said Wednesday that he has received assurances from Mexico’s new president that she will “stop migration” though her country and into the US. Trump announced earlier this week that he planned to slap a 25% tariff on Mexican imports to get the country to crack down on illegal immigration and drug smuggling. Sheinbaum Pardo, a 62-year-old scientist and former mayor of Mexico City, became Mexico’s first female president when she was inaugurated in October. In a social media post on 27 Novenber, she confirmed that she informed Trump that migrant caravans racing to the US border “are being taken care of.” “I had an excellent conversation with President Donald Trump,” Sheinbaum Pardo wrote on X. “We discussed Mexico’s strategy on the migration phenomenon and I shared that caravans are not arriving at the northern border because they are being taken care of in Mexico. “We also discussed strengthening collaboration on security issues within the framework of our sovereignty and the campaign we are carrying out in the country to prevent the consumption of fentanyl,” she added. Israel’s forces open fire in Lebanon, claim truce violation:
– The Lebanese army has alleged that Israel violated the current ceasefire “several times” on Wednesday and Thursday. The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah began early in the morning on Wednesday.
– “The Israeli enemy violated the deal several times,” the Lebanese army said in a post on X, while accusing Israel of “air violations” and “targeting Lebanese territory with various weapons.” The Lebanese army said it was following up on the ceasefire violations with relevant authorities.
– Earlier, Israel said it fired on southern Lebanon after detecting Hezbollah activity there. Israel has claimed that its ceasefire with the Hezbollah militant group was violated in southern Lebanon.In a post on the platform X, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that it opened fire on several Hezbollah fighters, some of whom had arrived in vehicles. In a separate post, the IDF said that it had fired a missile at what it detected as a “suspicious aircraft” in Lebanon but acknowledged that it had been “misidentified.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel maintains the right to act if Hezbollah breaks the terms of the ceasefire deal. Tennis News- Latest Scandal- Iga Swiatek accepts one-month suspension in doping case:
– Five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek accepted a one-month suspension after testing positive for the banned substance trimetazidine, a heart medication
known as TMZ, the International Tennis Integrity Agency announced Thursday. Swiatek failed an out-of-competition drug test in August. She formally admitted the anti-doping rule violation Wednesday and accepted her penalty. The ITIA accepted her explanation that the result was unintentional and was caused by the contamination of a nonprescription medication, melatonin, that Swiatek was taking for issues with jet lag and sleeping.
– Swiatek has only eight days remaining on the punishment, after she was provisionally suspended from Sept. 12 to Oct. 4 and missed three tournaments. The remaining suspension will be completed while there is no competition, and Swiatek will be cleared to return to play as of Monday.
– She had said in September that she was missing the Korea Open, China Open and Wuhan Open for personal reasons.
– The ITIA said Swiatek also forfeited her prize money of $158,944 from the Cincinnati Open, the first tournament she played after the failed test. Swiatek lost in the semifinals in Cincinnati.
– This is the second recent high-profile doping case in tennis. Jannik Sinner failed two tests for a steroid in March and was cleared in August, right before the start of the US Open, which he went on to win for his second Grand Slam title of the season. With two of the biggest names in tennis escaping lengthy bans for anti-doping violations, questions are being raised about the sport’s reputation. The month that is about to conclude will do so with an increase in consumer prices of 2.4% measured in year-on-year terms, six tenths more than the October reading.
– This was announced this Thursday by the National Statistics Institute (INE). The upturn in the CPI falls within the forecasts of analysts and is mainly explained by the increase in electricity and fuel prices, which fell in November last year. Inflation is expected to pick up slightly again in December, but should in principle be transitory. If the script is followed, the CPI will stabilize at around 2% from January next year.
