The injustice, as stressed by the Platform of People Affected by the Occupation, is even greater if we take into account that “about 90% of the rental market in Spain is in the hands of small owners” who need these rents to make ends meet or supplement their pension and that “the exponential growth of the inquiokupación erupted with the approval of this decree in March 2020 and, since then, has not stopped growing. “The consequences of this measure on small landlords are devastating, as they are forced to make their housing available by decree, without receiving any rent and having to assume the costs of housing, legal costs and, in many cases, the payment of supplies. In addition, this decree prevents them from recovering the property in case they need it”.
– The only hope now held by the owners is that, at the last moment, the Sánchez’s investiture partners in Congress decide not to validate the Royal Decree in Congress, which is seen as highly unlikely. New Sánchez Scandals- Sánchez improperly uses public resources to defend Ábalos in the Koldo plot- A crime of embezzlement is being investigated: {Translation, summary}
– The Government of Pedro Sánchez is using public resources to defend the former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos in the framework of the Koldo plot.
– Ábalos’ defense presented last Wednesday before the Supreme Court numerous documents with the aim of dismantling the accusations made by the commissioner Víctor de Aldama. Among this documentation, two reports prepared by the Ministry of Transport, directed by Óscar Puente, on the construction companies of civil works and ADIF were presented.
– Legal sources consulted by Libertad Digital state that “it is a scandal that the Government of Pedro Sánchez through the Ministry of Transport of Óscar Puente is contributing to the defense of José Luis Ábalos. The former Minister of Transport will have to clarify how he obtained the two reports of Puente’s Ministry that he has presented before the Supreme Court”.
– “Said reports should have been presented directly before the High Court by the Ministry of Transport. It should be investigated how Ábalos has obtained them to strengthen his defense.
