ANNUAL HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER

I can only produce DigameXtra with the financial support of my readers. Once a year, during the year end holidays, I do a fundraiser to help pay production expenses throughout the whole year. This year’s goal is to receive a donation from 4% of subscribers. The 4% Club finances DigameXtra for the 96% group that don’t donate. Which group will you belong to? The generosity of the 4% Club members is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS!

Just like your morning coffee, what would you do without your morning DigameXtra?

– Holiday Donation Info, 2 Methods –
#1. You may drop cash donations off in person and say hello, by appointment, or place them in my mailbox beside my door anytime. Please be sure to include your name on the envelope- there are benefits to being on the DigameXtra Donor’s lists, such as not needing to open an issue every 2 weeks to maintain your posting privileges, but only if you donate at least €30. Due to health reasons, unannounced drop-ins are inconvenient for me. But if I am expecting you, no problem! My mailbox has the name HARRIS on it. Email me for map and directions. Cash donations are strongly preferred.
#2. Alternatively, you may send me an Amazon ES (Spain) “eGift card” by email. You need to have an Amazon.es account. The only info you need is my email address and your name (the sender’s name). Remember, this is an “eGift card” you buy that Amazon emails directly to me, don’t buy a plain “gift card”. Use the link provided below to access the “eGift card” purchase page.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND AMAZON UK eGIFT CARDS. NO BANK TRANSFERS OR PAYMENT APPS.
Here is the Amazon.es eGift Card Link, (NOTE: YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY AMOUNT YOU LIKE ON THE FORM, it is set at €50 by default):
https://www.amazon.es/Cheques-Regalo-Amazon-es-mail-Amazon/dp/B07SS5PFJK/
On the eGift card purchase form, enter the DigameXtra email as the recipient, as shown below in Spanish and with English translation.
Para/For : digamextra@protonmail.com

Total Donations Received As Of Today: 135 (2.7%)

4% target = 200 donations from 4955 subscribers

*********

NEW RULE: Anyone can read DigameXtra for free- on the website, or by email subscription.

However, subscribers who wish to actively participate by making submissions will need to have donated at least €20 to the 2024 DigameXtra Holiday Fundraiser. If you won’t make the effort to donate just 39 cents a week (€20/yr), then please refrain from making submissions, as I have supporters – the donors and sponsors that pay the production expenses – that require my attention.

Depending on the fundraiser results at the end of January, I may consider rescinding this rule. With people returning from holidays, enough donations may arrive this month to achieve the goal. Thank you.

The Submission Rules Page has been updated to reflect this change.

Spanish PM Sanchez Now Proposes to Ban Non-EU Nationals From Buying Homes!:
– The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, is proposing a ban on non-EU nationals from buying houses in this country as part of efforts to deal with the housing crisis. He said that non-EU citizens purchased nearly 23,000 houses and apartments in Spain in 2023.

Harry Wins- Murdoch’s UK tabloids apologize and pay fine to Prince Harry, and admit intruding on the late Princess Diana:
– Prince Harry claimed a monumental victory Wednesday as Rupert Murdoch’s U.K. tabloids made an unprecedented apology for intruding in his life over decades and agreed to pay substantial damages to settle his privacy invasion lawsuit.
News Group Newspapers offered a “full and unequivocal apology to the Duke of Sussex for the serious intrusion by The Sun between 1996 and 2011 into his private life,” Harry’s attorney, David Sherborne, read from a statement in court.
– The statement even went beyond the scope of the case to acknowledge intruding on the life of Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana and the impact it had on his family. “We acknowledge and apologize for the distress caused to the duke, and the damage inflicted on relationships, friendships and family, and have agreed to pay him substantial damages,” the settlement statement said. TECH

Need to charge or power a portable device outdoors? This invention allows USB charger electricity to pass through windows and costs less than 60 euros: {Translation, summary}
– Power Mole V2, the device that passes electricity through windows. The Power Mole V2 represents the second generation of a charger that works by magnetic induction, since the first was launched back in 2014, and now incorporates several significant improvements in efficiency, size and power. As explained by the company, the system consists of a transmitter and a receiver, designed to be placed one on each side of a window or door pane.
– The output voltage is standard for USB chargers, 5 volts. Its operation is based on the fact that the transmitter, connected to a power outlet via a 2.75-meter cable, sends power wirelessly through the glass. The receiver, which is connected to the device to be powered via a USB cable outside, receives and transmits the necessary power, which avoids opening windows or installing additional outlets outside the home.
– It is available through the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform at a price of €57, which represents a saving of 40% compared to its final cost on the market once this launch phase is over. Info: https://www.acquaindustries.com/
