The judge reproaches Attorney General García Ortiz due to his “non-existent” cooperation, blames him for the extension of the investigation for another six months as data intentionally deleted by Ortiz, after the court had instructed him to perserve it all, is retrieved from service providers: {Translation, summary}
– The Supreme Court magistrate Ángel Hurtado has extended the investigation of the state attorney general for a further six months. In the order in which he issues this measure, the investigator reproaches Álvaro García Ortiz for his ‘non-existent collaboration in order to clarify the facts’ and maintains that he has no choice but to extend the time limit of the case in order to complete the pending proceedings.
– In a brief of just five pages, Hurtado once again recalls that the attorney general ‘has made the information that could be found on his various devices disappear’. According to the judge, the attorney general has thus caused a hole in the investigation that must be ‘made up for by means of a technological investigation of no little complexity’.
– Judge Hurtado pointed out in his letter that ‘it has even been necessary’ to ‘await the result of some rogatory commissions sent to Ireland – for the deleted Whatsapp messages and Google account – whose response is not likely to arrive before 24 March 2025’, when the extension of the investigation will begin to be applied. Yellow warning this Thursday in Almería, Granada, Jaén and Málaga for rainfall of up to 60 litres in twelve hours: {Translation}
– The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated for this Thursday the yellow warning for rain in different areas of the province of Almeria, Granada, Jáen and Malaga, where rainfall is expected to leave up to 60 litres per square metre in the first twelve hours.
– According to the Aemet website, consulted by this agency, in the province of Almeria the yellow alert for rain will remain in force from 15.00 hours until the end of the day this Thursday in Valle del Almanzora, Poniente and Almeria capital and Los Velez and Nacimiento and Campo. In these two regions, an accumulated rainfall of 20 litres per metre is expected in the first hour, which could be accompanied by thunderstorms.
– In Granada, the yellow warning for rain will remain active in the same time zone in Cuenca del Genil and Guadix and Baza. These areas will be affected by an accumulated rainfall of 20 l/m2 in the first hour, which may occasionally be accompanied by thunderstorms.
– As for the province of Jaén, the yellow warning for rain will remain active from 15.00 hours until midnight this Thursday in Cazorla and Segura and Capital and Montes. In these regions it is expected to register an accumulated rainfall of 20 litres per square metre in the first hour, which could be accompanied by thunderstorms.
– In the Malaga region of Sol and Guadalhorce and Ronda is also expected to activate the yellow warning for rain until 06.00 hours this Thursday, which is stipulated to record an accumulated rainfall of 60 litres in twelve hours.
– In Andalusia as a whole, very cloudy or overcast skies accompanied by showers are expected for Thursday. However, persistent showers are not ruled out on the Mediterranean coast and the Strait of Gibraltar. In the afternoon, locally heavy showers are forecast, accompanied by thunderstorms in the eastern third of the region, with the cloudiness tending to decrease and the precipitation to diminish in the west during the afternoon.
– Temperatures will remain unchanged, except in the eastern third, where maximum temperatures will rise. During the day, moderate north-easterly winds will blow on the Almeria coast and variable winds in the rest of the region, with a predominantly southerly wind on the Atlantic side. This is gonna be a nightmare!- The 24 Family Courts of Andalusia will be the first to work with zero paper: {Translation, summary}
– The Andalusian Regional Government has taken a further step towards the goal of achieving zero paper in Justice thanks to the imminent implementation of a system that will allow professionals in this field to process cases entirely digitally, with the resulting environmental benefits and streamlining of processes.
– Thus, between 10 March and 4 April, the implementation of the new Electronic Judicial File (EJE) will begin in the 24 exclusive Family Courts of the community, which will be progressively extended to the rest of the jurisdictions. This will be done in three phases, a first phase in which the system will be presented and face-to-face training will begin; then there will be theoretical and practical training; and finally, the transfer of notifications and rulings will be undertaken, which will already have a procedural value, making the use of paper unnecessary.
– The implementation of the new @driano procedural management system has also made it possible to fully integrate both the system used by the Ministry of Justice and that of the Andalusian Public Prosecutor’s Office, Fortuny, something which was unfeasible with the previous management system and which required paper-based communication with the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The Regional Ministry of Justice has already developed several pilot experiences in judicial bodies and public prosecutors’ offices in Almeria, Huelva and Seville, with very good results.
– All of this, the Regional Government emphasised, will speed up judicial work, as well as the access of professionals and citizens to their procedures, and will lead to significant savings in environmental costs by drastically reducing the use of paper.
{The Andalucian courts regularly suffer hacker attacks and expose private data. I have covered this many times in previous issues. Sorry, Andalucia has neither the skilled manpower nor the secure infrastructure for a project of this magnitude. Last time I was in Velez Malaga Hospital, and also Carlos Hoya University Hospital, the computers at both were still using Windows XP! The computer on the left in the photo is a pre 2010 workstation running Windows 7, which has been obsolete for 10 years! (I can tell from the sticker on the PC and the desktop it displays) Also notice the demo is not done by a typical court clerk, this guy looks like a young techie, and even he looks puzzled. -Ed.}

The Board cancels 1,484 tourist homes in the cities of Cádiz, Granada, Málaga and Sevilla: {Translation}
– The Andalusian Minister of Tourism and External Andalusia, Arturo Bernal {pic}, has reported this Thursday on the results that have been achieved after the implementation of Decree 31/2024, which updated the obsolete regulations on housing for tourist use and the signing of collaboration agreements with local councils to ensure compliance with local planning regulations and facilitate the detection of possible infractions.
– These measures have begun ‘to produce results’ and, specifically, 2,656 cancellation proceedings were processed last year. Of this total, 1,484 have already been cancelled, 718 are in the process of allegations and 454 are being processed, according to the figures offered by the minister in parliamentary commission and collected by the Junta in a press release.
– In parallel to this work, the Regional Ministry of Tourism and External Action has proposed ‘new control tools’, which include improvements to the Andalusian tourism register. In this sense, a warning has been set up in the register for localities whose town councils have established tourist housing limits.
– This mechanism has been set up in Seville and will be extended to other municipalities. In this way, any person who tries to register a property in an area declared saturated will receive an automatic warning informing them that they are in a saturated area, and if they continue with the procedure, they will be immediately notified of the start of the procedure to cancel the registration, and will also be subject to the opening of a sanctioning procedure for infringement of the tourism regulations due to the falsity of their responsible declaration.
– Additionally, by means of the Decree-Law on Promotion, approved last Tuesday by the Governing Council, greater legal certainty is given to the restrictive actions on this type of tourist accommodation that until now have been carried out by the local councils, in line with the requirements of European regulations.
– The draft bill of the Sustainable Tourism Law also includes measures relating to tourist accommodation, such as the impossibility of entering the tourism register for one year for those properties that enter falsely or do not provide their licence or responsible declaration in accordance with the town planning regulations that apply to them. ‘With these measures, we continue to announce a fairer and more effective regulation, which allows for the sustainable development of tourism in Andalusia without harming the coexistence and quality of life in our municipalities,’ said the Minister. Andalusia creates a free Wi -Fi network at 10,500 public buildings to combat the digital divide and depopulation: {Translation}
-Fighting the digital divide and depopulation and ensuring that all users, in any corner and under any circumstances, can be connected. This is the objective with which the regional government has launched the Andalucía Vuela wifi network, a further step in its digitalisation strategy that will provide thousands of government offices with free internet connection.
– This was explained this Monday by the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, from an active participation centre in Seville, where he detailed that, through 120,000 internet transevers, the ‘largest’ wifi network in Europe is going to be implemented in 10,500 facilities of the Junta, such as in senior citizens’ centres, museums, libraries and schools. It will also be installed in health centres, where it will begin to be installed from September.
– With an investment of 64 million euros, the Andalucía Vuela network will mean taking the ‘great definitive leap to the digital society’ and ‘being at the forefront of Europe’ and ‘above the national average’ in the deployment of ultrafast broadband networks, stressed the president, who has expressed his conviction that ‘no society will announce progress if it does not have a digitalisation process’ in which Andalusia is already immersed.
– The year 2030 is the goal set for the Administration and the community to be ‘100% digital’ and, along these lines, the Digital Agency of Andalusia (ADA) plans to invest more than one billion euros until 2027, recalled Moreno, who has focused on the ‘digital inclusion’ of those who, due to age or training, have not had access to a process of digitisation. And, in particular, the elderly, whom he addressed in person during the event: ‘We provide the network and, from here, you have to learn’, the president asked them, who stressed the importance of being connected nowadays, both in the workplace and in the personal sphere.
– This new network, whose deployment has involved multinationals such as Telefónica, Vodafone and Huawei, and also Andalusian companies such as Innovasur from Jaén and Galgus from Seville, will also allow the population to settle in the smaller inland municipalities, where ‘many young people are leaving’ because they cannot be connected; and will also help the self-employed and entrepreneurs to ‘continue growing and developing’ regardless of where they are, which will make them more competitive.
– The aim, Moreno summarised, is to be ‘more competitive’ and ‘leave no one behind’ with an initiative that follows in the footsteps of the Vuela Points, a network of almost 800 centres ‘pioneers in bringing connectivity, digitalisation and technology’ to towns of less than 20,000 inhabitants and the most vulnerable neighbourhoods of large cities, which have just been renovated with the acquisition of almost 15,000 computers.
– And ‘we are not going to stop there’, concluded the president, who recalled that the Governing Council has agreed on the formulation of a plan to boost digital infrastructures with the idea of providing Andalusia with a ‘top-level’ ecosystem that serves as ‘an economic lever, which improves the competitiveness of our companies, attracts private investment and boosts talent and professional training’.
{This is all a flowery cover for their real plans. This project will be used to justify the placement of 5G transmission stations every few 100 metres. This in turn will be used to support their Agenda 2030 plans to complete the surveillance state IoT (Internet of things), connecting & monitoring all devices, including mobile phones, security cams, traffic and pedestrian traffic monitoring with facial recognition, digital payments, Health Service devices, etc. It’s the next step towards the communist Digital ID agenda and social credit score slavery (“Sorry, you have reached your monthly quota for beef, try the lovely mealworm patties.”). In addition, this 5G network is going to be necessary as they introduce driverless vehicles. The car manufacturers will need to use the tax-payer funded 5G network to guide these vehicles; me thinks they should be required to help cover the building expenses. After all, they will be charging driverless vehicle users a subscription fee for services; why should they benefit from our investment without contributing? -Ed.} Source, Spanish: https://www.20minutos.es/noticia/5687599/0/andalucia-despliega-una-red-wifi-gratuita-10-500-edificios-publicos-para-combatir-brecha-digital-despoblacion/

MALAGA CITY

Valero (IU) calls for the dismissal of the Minister of Health after the birth of a dead baby ‘without an epidural’ in the Maternity Hospital in Malaga: {Translation}
– The general coordinator of IU Andalusia and deputy of the Sumar group in Congress, Toni Valero {pic}, has urged this Wednesday the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno (PP-A), to ‘dismiss’ the Minister of Health and Consumption, Rocío Hernández, after ‘a woman has had to give birth to her deceased baby without an epidural in the Maternity Hospital of Málaga’.
– This is what the IU leader has claimed in an audio released to the media in which he has criticised that the mother ‘has had unnecessary suffering added to an already very painful situation’, because ‘there was only one nurse’ in the hospital ‘who was unable to cope with nine women admitted’.
– Toni Valero has warned that ‘this situation is not new’, and the Maternity Hospital ‘has been understaffed for months, causing a lack of ultrasound scans and care for pregnant women and newborns’, and has denounced the ‘unbearable dismantling of public health that the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, is mercilessly carrying out’.
– Thus, the IU leader has asserted that the PP-A ‘is taking Andalusian health care to the level of a failed state’, and ‘what has happened is not a mistake’, but ‘is the result of a deliberate policy of cuts and mismanagement’. ‘Moreno Bonilla has to give explanations immediately, and he has to dismiss his Minister of Health’, said Toni Valero before concluding by calling on the Andalusian government to “abandon its propaganda and take responsibility”. NERJA

Ecologists oppose the urban proposal in an area near Nerja’s cave for being “excessive”: {Translation, summary}
– The Gabinete de Estudios de la Naturaleza de la Axarquía (GENA-Ecologistas en Acción) opposes the real estate project of the developer GI Investments S.L. in an area close to the Cueva de Nerja and the natural park, specifically in the Barranco de la Coladilla. The company is studying the construction of 964 dwellings, of which 386 would be social housing. The total investment would be 87 million euros. The association considers it ‘an excessive proposal’, especially because of the development of a recreational park, ‘which is actually a golf course’.

MOTRIL

The body of a 40 -year -old man found next to the shore in Motril: {Translation}
– A 40-year-old man has been found floating in the water on the beach of Calahonda, in the municipality of Motril, on the Costa Tropical of Granada. Although the autopsy will determine this, initial indications are that he drowned.
– As reported by the 112 emergency service, at 17.20 hours on Wednesday 5 March, a call was received from a private individual who alerted that there was a person floating in the water, just off the shore, on the promenade, at the end of Calle Galán. The protocol was immediately activated and officers from the Local Police, the National Police and the 061 emergency medical centre were called to the scene. However, nothing could be done for him except to certify his death. The body will be taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine for the autopsy to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. EUROPE

Will they reinstate conscription in EU? Or maybe offer passports to immigrants who volunteer for military duty? Europe would need 300,000 more soldiers to defend against Russia without the help of the United States: {Translation, summary}
– The estimate that the heads of state and government will be working with at the European summit is that jointly produced by the Brussels-based research institute Bruegel and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW). To replace the US troop presence in Europe, they calculate, would require 300,000 more troops than are currently available and some 250 billion euros in additional defence spending. And all this in a limited time frame, because ‘Russia will have the military force to attack EU states in the next three to ten years,’ says Guntram Wolff, one of the authors of the Kiel Institute.
– Equipping another 50 brigades with 300,000 men would also require 1,400 new state-of-the-art tanks and 2,000 infantry fighting vehicles, more than Germany, France, Britain and Italy currently have combined, he estimates. Europe would have to produce about 2,000 long-range drones a year and these forces would have to be supplied with sufficient ammunition beyond the meagre stocks available now. One million 155mm shells would be the minimum for a supply sufficient for 90 days of high-intensity combat.
– The report suggests the possibility of using the capacity of the European automotive industry to fill production gaps.
– According to the think tank International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), there are entire capability areas for which Europeans are completely dependent on the United States, such as strategic airlift for moving soldiers and equipment, reconnaissance tasks, especially by satellite, the provision of long-range missiles to reach targets inside Russia, and air defence, especially against cruise missiles or drones.
– Ronja Kempin of the German Institute of International Affairs stresses that without US capabilities, ‘the Europeans are practically blind’ and unable to get their own overview of what the enemy is doing. ‘The EU does not have its own headquarters that can send a larger unit like the DRC into action,’ she adds, ’the EU Military Planning and Execution Staff is too small and members have not provided the necessary personnel for years.

US stops sharing all intelligence with Ukraine, source says:
– The US has stopped sharing all intelligence with Kyiv, a Ukrainian source has told Sky News.
– Previously the source, with knowledge of the situation, said the halt in the flow of intelligence had been “selective”, only affecting information that could be used for attacks inside Russia. “A few hours ago, the exchange of all information was stopped,” the source said.
– The move is another blow for Kyiv after US President Donald Trump decided to pause all military aid to Ukraine following a bust-up with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the White House.
